Also it’s bad form to cut the head off, it should still be connected by the the front of the skin. If you cut the head off entirely than you shame the one who asked you to do it. I don’t understand how it started but before we even got a boken we needed to learn the philosophy and traditions. Granted it’s suicidal, but it isn’t technically suicide 🤷 it’s the law of Bushido, and in iaido you need to learn a lot before you get to the practice sword(boken)
