Well I hope once the Max hype train dies down a bit, we’ll be rid of the soccer hooligan portion of the fans. I’ve always loved, like with baseball, how the audience has always been mixed in F1. When visiting Spa I often had, say, a Ferrari fan to my left and a Mercedes fan to my right. It resulted in fantastic conversations. You would seek each other out the next few days and you usually left on Sunday as friends. Fond memories.

If Ferrari didn't do Ferrari things Alonso would have been a x4 world champion. Robbed in 2010 by a questionable strategy call by the team at the final race in Abu Dhabi and his phenomenal 2012 campaign dragging a Ferrari badged donkey to within a few points of a title was just Alonso at his absolute best. Still one of the best racers in the 30 years I've been watching the sport.

When Alonso first won the the title beating MSC way back in 2005 I had huge respect for him for beating the great 7 time World Champion MSC. And as years went by and still see him competing with the likes of the younger drivers like Max, Lando etc... it feels so nice. The man still competes every race as if its the first race of his career.
Max has stated many times over many years that ,together with his dad, Alonso was his hero whilst growing up, Hope they'll race LM24H together one time
my favorite thing about this insane sport has got to be the mutual respect some of these drivers show. after putting their own lives at risk each and every race and fighting tooth and nail for the victory to see them all come together and still congratulate each other in moments like this is amazing to see everytime. sure it's not always like this but at times of frustration it's usually completely understandable, and often after talking it out it's back to being just as respectful as it should.
