Hamilton + Bottas would consistently lock out the front row, with Bottas taking pole over Hamilton often enough. Bottas' strength was always quali and that meant he was always in the fight. Checo has much better race craft than Bottas to be sure, but he's stuck racing mid field cars and by the time the pit window opens he's lost too much time to Max to even be relevant to his strategy.
Having a decent wingman almost every race, is a lot better than a good wingman twice a season.

The thing with Perez is that RB give him a car where he just cannot feel confident, he doesn't have any feedback from it, he expressed so as of late; And most importantly, he needs to take care of that car first and foremost, 1. Bc he can't have the luxury of breaking it again, and 2. He's a family guy. Then again, one may argue "yOu hAvE tO aDaPt tO aNyThInG yOu'rE givEn"... I wonder what do those people think now that Max doesn't seem to adapt to this car which isn't suited to his style... I know, they blame it on the car now lol.
Don't forget that Checo won 2 races from Max on pure pace on the brief moment he could feel more confident with the car.
TL;DR: Checo never was, and still isn't a bad driver. The next Schumacher? Obviously not. But it's just trendy to shit on him.
P.S.: Now that I think about it it was trendy to shit on Bottas lol, and mald about why the hell didn't Merc fire him and put Russell in earlier.

The car was dominant and with it, Bottas had the drive of his career.
The worst part for me, was him being released from a top team, down to the bottom of the paddock.
And now he will be without a contract 2025.
With a decent package, Bottas always puts in a solid performance, and he is able to communicate feedback to the team.
With more money coming from Audi, he would be a great addition for development.

Bottas actually took points off Max on one occasion, Turkey 2021. Outside of Baku, Checo wasn't really close enough to the front to threaten Lewis.
Think of Silverstone 2021, a perfect example. Lewis has a 10 second penalty. Checo should be there to take the win and force Lewis to settle for second but he spun off after the restart and so was a non-factor in the race. Bottas was consistently third. He was a very solid driver. If Lewis had an issue, Bottas would be there to secure the points.

Its not. Bottas did everything he could to help Lewis win that title.
The only times Bottas finished ahead of Lewis that season was in Austria (where he finished 2nd, with Lewis in 4th) and in Turkey (where he won and Lewis finished 5th after taking engine penalties).
In Austria, Lewis had damage and finished 30 seconds behind Bottas. If you want to argue that he should have let Norris finish 2nd and dropped to 4th so Hamilton can finish 3rd, then... ok thats fine, but I don't think anyone really thinks that a reasonable thing to expect ANYONE to do. The damage Hamilton had was clearly too great for Bottas to play rear gunner and defend against Lando (especially when you consider that Bottas strength has never, ever been battling wheel to wheel. Its always been a massive weakness of his.)
In Turkey, Bottas did what he needed too. With Lewis starting down the grid, they needed Bottas to win to deny Max the win, and he did exactly that.

Meanwhile, Redbull also, obviously, used Perez to aid in Verstappen's championship push - I'm not sure why you think they didn't? Perez rear gunned for Verstappen all season long, and was particularly more useful to his teammate than Bottas was to Hamilton for the entire final quarter of the season. Most notably the final race, where Perez was left out on shredded tires just to hold Hamilton up, which is what prevented Hamilton from getting a free pit stop at the end the race, and where Bottas was so very far back in the race that Vertappen did get a free stop.

The team orders in 2021 more were forcing Bottas to take engine penalty after engine penalty, they were stress testing an engine to give hamilton an advantage in the final 4 races. Also, for most of the season Max and Lewis were so far ahead that team orders just didn't matter, no other drivers that year really ever looked to be winning a race on merit.

The fact remains that shamilton heavily relied on his wingman Bottas and basically used him as a crutch to win many titles. The same can't be said about Perez however even though many of shammy's fanbois try to say he's Max's wingman.
in the past years, Max has won enough points alone to win Red Bull the championship. Shamilton could never do that.

Why is this even controversial? Going into this race Hamilton led Verstappen by just 3 points in the championship standings and as things stood Verstappen was going to take the lead by 3 at the end of the race, in such a close championship (which Valtteri was not a part of due to being so far behind) what's wrong with ensuring Lewis got the FL point? Imagine the outcry if Perez had pitted and taken the FL point off of Max. Even all these years later and with Hamilton not being dominant anymore some fans still can't drop their double standards.

For me, the proof that Bottas would not help Hamilton for the championship was in Spain, Verstappen and Hamilton had stopped in the pits and returned behind Bottas (who had not entered the pits yet), Verstappen overtook without resistance, but Hamilton was held back for a few corners and Bottas could have simply gotten out of the way. In return, he secured the constructors for Mercedes
