OK, a few tips from a Nissan Mastertech first off always put a little dab of anti-seize on your plug. Because often times aluminum doesn’t like steel and you certainly don’t want to pull the plug out of that which includes some of the cylinder head threads. Also, when you put the cold packs in, make sure you put a dab of dielectric grease on the end of the boot this will help two things one help you get the coal out in case it decides to glue itself to the spark plug and it also helps seal moisture out. Also put a dab of dielectric grease in the connector that goes onto the coal for the same reasons. A big tip on getting these connectors off is to spray them with some rust penetrant, and that will soak in to the seal when you wiggle it around and we are immensely help getting these plastic connectors off which you’re always prone to explode in your hand, take care from Jay Tiger in Thailand
Most plugs don't recommend you putting antiseeze on them. Especially NGK. I would not brag to much about being a Nissan master tech. Almost as bad as one from dodge trying to brag
I understand your point about the anti-sieze on the plugs, but then you really have to be careful when you're torquing them down because as you should know, that's going to change your torque specs and you could easily over torque them and strip your head.
@@williamardenjr116 funny you mention that in my 29 years of automotive torture, I also achieved a master Honda tech and a master Dodge Chrysler Jeep tech. but the smartest thing I ever did is quit working on cars go back to college and achieved an engineering degree and finished up with a 4.0 grade average. not that I’m a genius I just did a whole lot of studying. i’m curious where you saw that recommendation I believe you, but I had never seen that recommendation. I worked on a lot of 300ZX is with the 3 L motor and some of the plugs were super scary getting out required a good shot of rust penetrant and many back and forth to get the plug out and sometimes they still carried some threads with them. once you put anti-seize on the new plugs, they always came out with ease. I always put a small amount of anti-seize on plug threads and I have never had a problem getting them out or any kind of drivability problems. It does have a change the friction coefficient of the threads so you have to be easy on talking them in, and there is a calculation for the type of lubricant, you put on the threads and the reduction in force to achieve the same clamping force.
I think Peter added a lot of charm to the crew. There is only so much monologue you can have when you are wrenching. Definitely pro level of production.
You also fixed the cruise switch, the decel position never worked for me. Had to Set then Cancel every time... new switchgear solves all 💯 (Also on the frunk you have to latch it then push down firmly and it latches every time, same with all exotics)

Alex, there’s truly nothing better than a clean working environment. One of the many great things about you is whether how big or small the job is, you always make it a point to clean, and it really cures my OCD. @LSC Peter Definitely the early builds of the E55! The CL65 was also a favorite of mine due to the complexity and extremely elevated levels of pisstivity wielded by Alex! That was the hardest task I've seen him undertake. To this day I don't think he figured out all the gremlins! Keep up the magnificent work!
I love that car. I think it's all the better for being the "cheap one". People are so afraid of maintenance on these, but doing the work yourself not only saves tons of money and makes you feel like a genius, it's very fun to watch.
Been a subscriber for a while, not much of a commenter, but man, when I first saw you got a McLaren I was a bit hesitant. I should have trusted my gut and known you would be no different with a supercar than you are with cars we all own/dream of owning. Keep up the awesome content! You guys make an amazing team!
It is so encouraging seeing hobbyists and specialists gear up for these McLarens. They are great cars and deserve the support when main dealer servicing ceases to be economically viable. The engine was developed for Nissan's racing team by Riccardo so was an off the shelf solution when McLaren came calling. RON will be Ron Dennis, former boss of McLaren :)
What a great video Alex, you and Peter are like kids in a candy store for the first time! You guys always make me laugh with your shenanigans, and I always learn something new with regards to the automotive world. LSC is definitely and without a doubt the best automotive RUclips channel, hands down!! Looking forward to seeing the next Eclipse video, that car is sick!
Hello there, I remember you showed me how to fix an alternator in a mercedes like 8 years ago. I am so happy you are doing well and thriving you are hard working and deserve it. I also rescue old cars and give it a new live. Every 3 to 5 years or so I treat myself to an old car I like and I spend a good 1k to fix everything and have bonding time with my brother and my 2 daughters. Fixing cars is a mental treatment for me.

Awesome video! Peters reactions while riding are hilarious! I appreciate how Alex explains things so clearly and straightforward. And if anyone is wondering, Avalon King is totally worth it. I drove 104 miles per day for work, and nearly 3 Minnesota winters later, it still looks good. So if you’re not sure, go for it!
What I've realized looks and feels neater is instead of wrapping electrical tape around your swivels and then them having a residue stuck on them I like to get an "O" ring and put it on the swivel and it stiffens it up a bit and still works as it should
The MP4 name stood for "Marlboro Project Four" and was introduced by former CEO Ron Dennis when he merged his F2 team, Project Four Racing, with McLaren in 1981. Since then each new car's name had the prefix "MP4" followed by a type number in ascending order.
I don't normally like supercar sort of stuff, just everyday car wrenching, but i really enjoyed that Alex!!! Cant wait for more SVT content. Keep up the good work.
I’m not a super car fan…but the look on both of your faces towards the end of the video when you accelerated was pure awesomeness :) So glad to see you enjoying your “new” toy. Keep the content coming.
The McLaren demystify! For anyone that has a mechanical inclination.. Alex just showed you could get into it too. The "Ron", is the class of octane in the UK. It's my understanding that RON numbers is a better fuel quality than we have here in the U.S
FINALLY!!!! A series that I enjoy! Thank you for this content. I am thrilled with how you are doing your video on the Maclean. Everyone else that is doing rebuilds and repairs on exotics make me cringe with their content that they post up. I will be watching your progress and I wish you all the success that is coming to you
12c owner, great vid, awesome info on the nissan parts! I will note that it runs great on winter tires as well. I didn't like the ISG sound personally. I've taken mine everywhere, including farm roads up in the mountains (pnw); as long as you drive slow, it drives great.
For an old car like this use a paintbrush with plastic holding the bristles to not scratch anything. The results are amazing! All the little corners are clean and look as new after cleaning with that. :) I mean how could you ever get the dirt out around the buttons and stuff... This is so easy and makes it look almost new.
The father of McLaren (Bruce) was a New Zealander, so your Australian "foreign" accent is not too far off geographically. Watching you and Peter on the test drive is like watching a pair of kids in a candy store on Christmas day. An awesome video, except for the rattle from the lost spark plug!
Really enjoyed the video...especially since it fixed the issues. Tom Walkinshaw Racing worked with Nissan to develop the engine for a project that never materialized. McLaren bought the rights to the engine from Walkinshaw. I have a 720.
Am always on the lookout for your amazing videos Alex, foe me they are a feast of recognition (frustrations and victories) .Being a DIY mechanic myself, I love these videos and they have helped me a lot to have more confidence in taking the more difficult jobs forward too (of course within the area of capabilities and the availability of the necessary equipment) Be blessed
Buy some strut clamps and use them when you need the trunk or engine bay cover open for a while. You'll be glad you did. I use them on the Porsches and F250. I think it helps the struts last longer, and you can raise it just a little bit more.
Exciting! Just been looking for the new video from you and this appears 👍🏻👏🏻 PS My boss has a 2019 plate 570. It’s an absolutely insane car and equally so easy and forgiving to ride. He daily drives it to work, put on around 10k miles last year. Greetings from the UK.
Alex, Peter, and Max thank you so much for this wonderful content. I’m glad it’s you doing those spark plugs and not me. They did not look like fun. That is such a cool car. Keep up the great work. I am truly enjoying all your videos. One note though double check that air filter it looked like it was ripped at the top.
You two crack me up, and that's great. I'm so glad you were able to get all of the lights off... for now, and the look on Peter's face was priceless when you nailed it. I'm not really a super car guy either but this was one of your best vids, keep up the great work guys, you are killin it.
Ron '98 is, of course, Ron Dennis, McLaren boss for many years. He would always sign each car somewhere, under the dash or in your case in the fuel filler. When you had the Rolls Royce, you would have found 'Henry' written inside the heater trunking. As for Gutentight, we say 'jolly tight old chap'.
RON - The research octane number (RON) is defined as the percentage by volume of iso-octane in a mixture of iso-octane and n-heptane that knocks with some intensity as the fuel is being tested. An octane rating, or octane number, is a standard measure of a fuel's ability to withstand compression in an internal combustion engine without detonating. The higher the octane number, the more compression the fuel can withstand before detonating. Octane rating does not relate directly to the power output or the energy content of the fuel per unit mass or volume, but simply indicates gasoline's capability against compression.
I enjoyed watching your video and feel thankful that I have a 2014 Shelby GT500 that I can work on if needed and all at a fraction of the cost - and good for 200mph if needed. I even have extra wheels and snow tires for it so I can drive it year round!! 64yrs old now and living the dream....and not to worry I'm not taking this car with me when I die and I'm not saving it for someone else.

It’s crazy to see how far this channel has come. Good job Alex, Peter and Max!
The McLaren dealers don’t call you back because you say more sophisticated things than “it isn’t working and my wife and I need to go to the golf course… Can I just drop it off and you bill me?” And they think it’s a prank lol
Thomas's scores have a way of capturing and driving the feel of scenes unlike anyone that's ever done it. A great score can lift a film to another level for me. Shawshank's ending chokes me up everytime I watch it. The greatest ending and the greatest score. Passengers, Road to Perdition, Saving Mr Banks, Bridge of Spies and more... fantastic !
Alex, there’s truly nothing better than a clean working environment. One of the many great things about you is whether how big or small the job is, you always make it a point to clean, and it really cures my OCD. Nothing drives me crazier then someone putting dirty parts back on 😂 You guys rock, especially for having the balls to work on a mclaren, love it!
Thanks! I really appreciate all the work you put into your content guys!! It’s kinda therapeutic for me if that makes sense? Every time I see a new video available, the feeling I get is like a kid opening gifts on Christmas! 😂😂😂. Keep up the great work and know you’ve got a fan for life!! And by the way, super nice job on the McLaren!!!
Thanks brother! Appreciate the support!
@LSC Peter The comedy ! You two have the magic!! .....I interrupted haha sorry about that.
@LSC Peter
Fellow car-tuber, has Stage 4, plz take a look..his last build. Cheerz ~ ruclips.net/video/vjzY0V4CV4E/видео.html
Alex check the air filter again the seal looked damaged if a small piece broke off it could be sucked into the engine, and btw love the content!
I love that car. I think it's all the better for being the "cheap one". People are so afraid of maintenance on these, but doing the work yourself not only saves tons of money and makes you feel like a genius, it's very fun to watch.
And it gives you a better understanding of how the car really works
Fantastic content guys, greetings from England 👍 can't wait for the dyno run and nice to see some UK metal getting spannered
Love it. I love seeing these supercars for what they really are: cars. Also? I think I can honestly say I'm now an expert on fuel pumps and how not to run them thanks to this channel. 👍
As a Chicago guy it’s great to see you gents ripping it up here in the area. Great work! I’m new to the channel and an old wrencher and love to see the DIY stuff. Got on here due to coming across a w211 e320 CDI I’m going to pick up next week…loved what you did to yours years ago. Keep it up and good luck with the McL….
This car will push you very fast in the golden ligue for millions of subscribers 😊 Keep posting about it for some time, it will help a lot. You deserve to be on top above many of your youtubers competitors

Alex and Peter test driving anything is legit the best thing on RUclips. Always brings a smile to my face! You guys are legends keep up the good work!
I’m happy for you bro! That McLaren is well deserved and earned by you, I really enjoy the content and value you bring to the platform. I’m thinking about getting an older C63 for a project car on my channel next, your vids really help
I love this channel. In a crazy turbulent world this is free therapy.
I always skip 1 hour long video EXCEPT for Alex. He has so much motivation & able to solve challenges, with so much positivity.
We need more people like legit team ! 👍
This is why I love this channel man, we can go from wrenching on an old van to wrenching on a McLaren, keep the episodes coming guys
Love Peter's attitude at the end... I'm definitely older than him, but i could definitely see he & myself getting into some goofiness & trouble together. Love your videos.
This show is literally network quality material. Hard to believe it's not on Discovery+. Great job guys.
Not sure trading their freedoms for a network show that MIGHT make them more money is great.
I’m glad it isn’t so they can actually control what they do, remain in control and make their own money 💰
@@andrewpanciotti5518 this. Fuck networks, stay independent.
Thank god it isn’t as most those shows totally blow.
Plus premium no commercials minus thiers. Big TV would flood it w/commercials like motor trend does!! Gear heads away!!!!
You and Peter are really the dynamic duo at this point, i love when he gets excited like a little kid lmao
Alex and Peter continuing to bring a smile to my face. Thanks guys! 😁(Peter's face from 49:15 is priceless)
Was looking toward to this episode this morning and you guys did not disappoint. The last pull reaction at the end of the video was hilarious. We can definitely DIY the service on a McLaren. Excellent expansive content guys!
Taping up the socket and swivel extender is genius! That little wheel attachment for when it's already lose is cool too. Learned 2 new things!
I gotta say Alex and Peter seem like the most down to earth car guys. Thanks for taking us along on the fun. Looking forward to more McLaren videos
Lol right! I live in Kansas... I wish I could have ran into Alex when he was here... I think the ole boy he bought this from lives down the road from me...
Nothing wrong with this, but they are 1000% gay.

51:28 love the rear spoiler can be seen coming up like an air dam to help stop when he brakes then drops back down , can see it through rear window somewhat
That was a really smooth and edited opening. Best one yet, keep it up Max!
McLaren dropped the MP4 prefix when Ron Dennis left at the end of 2016. From 2017 they have used MCL which is an abbreviation of McLaren.
They now go by p1u for parliament 100s unfiltered
The pure joy on Alex and Peter's faces is just priceless!
Love those smiles with those revs. biggest ones i've seen so far, super smiles for super car
I don't normally like supercar sort of stuff, just everyday car wrenching, but i really enjoyed that Alex!!! Cant wait for more SVT content. Keep up the good work.
I'm wondering if the wrap is interfering with the swipe door opener? Great job on the car guys!
Congratulations.. excellent.. regards from Athens Greece..
I will be watching your progress and I wish you all the success that is coming to you
I love that Peter is like a kid in a candy store, his smile 😂 the excitement.
Good job guys.
Peter's facial expressions while riding in the 12C are priceless!!! Great video guys!!
Fantastic video!! Was that Tavarish’s 675LT engine with the easy breathing crankcase?
This is a great series. Thrilling and fun. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you two.
Hey congrats on super car, I'm happy for you! Peter is such a great addition to your channel, such a smart, nice guy. Cheers!!
@LSC Peter good job Peter
I mean how could you ever get the dirt out around the buttons and stuff... This is so easy and makes it look almost new.
I LOVE TO SEE HOW FAR YOU HAVE COME OVER THE YEARS!! A CONTENT CREATOR WHO TRULY DESERVES IT
Another great episode. This long format is easy to watch.
Thanks Alex, Peter & Max for another exciting video!!! 👍👍🙂
I wait for these like I used to watch cartoons Saturday morning 😂😂😂
Am always on the lookout for your amazing videos Alex, foe me they are a feast of recognition (frustrations and victories) .Being a DIY mechanic myself, I love these videos and they have helped me a lot to have more confidence in taking the more difficult jobs forward too (of course within the area of capabilities and the availability of the necessary equipment) Be blessed
Buy some strut clamps and use them when you need the trunk or engine bay cover open for a while. You'll be glad you did.
I use them on the Porsches and F250. I think it helps the struts last longer, and you can raise it just a little bit more.
LOVE the long episodes! Thank you for being my morning relaxation for today
Exciting! Just been looking for the new video from you and this appears 👍🏻👏🏻
PS My boss has a 2019 plate 570.
Awesome video. You two looks so happy on the road. Makes me smile.
What project are you most excited about?
the van and the elipes
I have to pick 2... The Grand National and the Eclipse.
I know it's been a while since we've seen it, but the CL65
Cl65, van, carbon fiber, mp4-12c and the white eclipse
Grand national and the trans am
Peter's facial reactions and comments when in the car cracks me up. Alex you are an amazing mechanic. Congrats on moving up in the RUclips world both of you. Best channel on RUclips by far. Very entertaining and good job on the editing and filming. Your not the average bland auto channel. I always look forward for you new vids. Being on vinwiki doesn't mean you made it. Be modest. Later.
Just watching how happy Peter and Alex are in a McLaren doing the 'speed limit' made my weekend.
They're a good team fr..

I've loved and followed your videos for years. I'm always deeply involved in your projects. But this one just pegged my interest meter to 11. Get this one going, it's worth it!
The expression on Pete's face after leaving Cannonball and the hard acceleration by Alex is priceless! 😂😂😂
Love that your progressing. The exposed carbon looks sick. Can’t wait for the next vid
Peters face as you got on it was hilarious. Can't believe you didn't let him drive it.
would you let someone to drive your 275k car? lol
The previous owner has to be gulping hard now!
@@tomasis7 Peter has helped this channel grow. He is a big part of them being able to afford this car. It's also not a brand new $275k car. I would 100% let him drive it.
I'm sure he will get to drive it soon.
I LOVE this new car series. Keep it up!! Such fun content and excited to see how many of these repairs you can tackle yourselves.
