I love how the videoclips all connect together, but are time incoherent as well. Makes you realize that it doesn't matter whether it's 2020, 2000 or 1980 - people are solving the same problems, with the same heartache, pain, happiness and love. We stand at crossroads in our lives, seemingly minor ones, just like the generations before us did. It's sad and calming, connecting, at the same time.
She falls in love with a guy (Ophelia). Her father dies and the guy she loves asks her to leave town with him (Sleep On The Floor) but she stays in that town. She marries a guy she doesn't love and has a child (Angela). When she's old and divorced she regrets not leaving town with her lover, back when her father died (Cleopatra). Credit to Swiftologist for this theory.
i thought that too but the only thing that doesnt fit is the tattoo in angela ..if she didnt went after him in sleep on the floor she woulnt have gotten the wave tattoo ..
Kim Siles You're totally right. But in "Sleep on the floor", you see her waking up again on the ground, like the whole music video was a dream she had. I don't understand how she got the tattoo.
Daniel Tougaard I think it just a way for us to know is the same girl because I don't think the man she married and then left is the guy from sleep on the floor
The piano solo at the end makes me want to go back to every key moment of my life and live all parallel possibilities/universes and then continue living in the best one from those.
They are also standing in the background in 3:24 - and in the shot right after, Angela is dancing in the parking lot. So i think that she is reminiscing, that time they were there :)
I guess "the Three Ladies" is a reference to the girl in "sleep on the floor", "Angela" and "Cleopatra" ... and more, they are the same girl. A story of three diferent times of her live.

GARY J ok, I thought that too, but... the tattoo. If she hadn't gone with him she wouldn't have gotten it. I think she had, but than left him anyway. Thats why in Cleopatra she smiles, when they're got to her taxi-because that memory is precious, and they truly were happy back than. But well, she always runs, and she run this time. Like in Ophelia (although I know lumeeners said it's about fame) she can't stay with someone. So she's leaving while pregnant, and that seemed like a right choice back at the time (she is "at home"-again on the road, again running away), but in Cleopatra she kind of regrets that, and thinking about what would have happened if she had never left. That's why in final scene she is not smiling, not even for a second. It's a close up on her-kind of sad-face. The ending of this video is tricky, though.... What you guys think?!

Lumineers have that rare gift of being able to transport you, change your thoughts and emotions and bring up stuff you weren't thinking about 3 seconds ago.
Here's the divergent paths: Sleeping on the Floor - Either she "left this town" and went with the guy, got married, got pregnant, OR she never left. The end. Angela - Either she gets back in bed & stays with the guy she had married, OR she leaves and starts a new life. Cleopatra - Either she drops her son off with the father she left, OR is coming home to the man she married because she never left him in the first place. Moral of the story: Go out and have YOUR adventure, because all the paths would've be different had she just stayed home. Truly beautiful.. made my heart swell for life.
Jason She never went on the road trip. She found some random guy she didn’t even love in her hometown and used him to help create and then support a child. She drives a cab and lives in a run down motel. More sad than anything else.
Moral of the story? Uh, try not getting hitched and pregnant and being selfish and abandoning the relationship. That’s 100% selfish. Not sure why that’s “beautiful”. It’s a complete trash story about a selfish person
+ajamico So if you get married and have a kid, you can never leave the marriage, no matter the circumstances, or you are selfish trash? That’s a pretty broad claim...
It’s freaky how accurate this song actually describes my life. This came out when I was going thru a rough time and as I started commuting to my healing and stopped running from my problems, I kept hearing this song on the radio. Everywhere I’d go until I finally got it, the universe would play this song . It’s like a confirmation that when we start to accept and love ourselves, that’s when we truly are able to come home. Also funny cause my name is Angela and I even drive a green car :)
one of the best feelings is that you could actually feel and listen to a single unified story just by hearing and watching their music videos. it's really rare this days to watch music videos that are creatively put on together like this band do :)
Mr. Pascal Winston Gloria is about an alcoholic woman who cheats on his husband and then leaves her family behind though... and Ophelia has a very tragic story given that she drowns herself :/
yeah...stages of her life with what might be the outcome of her decisions - they were inspired by a woman's life story (they said on an interview and concert) so they made songs about her
I read up on it. Angela, Cleopatra and sleep on the floor was written about a cab driver that the lead singer met in Georgia. Apparently this is a version of her life story.
When I was young in the 1970s I thought there could never be better music. Now I wish I was young again, I love the music of this generation! This music rocks. It touches your soul.
I was young 20 years ago and envy both your generations. What I can’t understand now is why people stop liking new music. You just listened to the wrong one
I've actually listened to The Lumineers a few times before, but I never really paid much attention to them as much as I am now. The guy I believe I am in love with brought me here. He loves The Lumineers and I just want to understand what it is that he loves so much. Now I understand, The Lumineers are so pure. They take heartwarming but also heartbreaking, devastating, yet real situations from people and create them into art. I... I am in awe of both The Lumineers and my guy.
every single frickin day i think about taking the keys and driving....driving till im lost....and never looking back. God it hurts how much i need to leave. I cant do this anymore.
The Prince, the Rose & La Muerte darling u should know that u born for a reason , the fate got his own plans , but u should get up and hurry to figure it out
Then do it! Your life is your adventure, live it! If you don't, please do consider talking to a doctor at least. It sounds like you may have some things you need to talk out and I sincerely hope you work through them and can be happy:)
I wanted to let you guys know that you are one of 5 bands I bought music from in the last 16 years. I'm so tired of commercial garbage music, it's really refreshing to see a hardworking band write and produce their own music that actually sounds good! You put heart and soul into every piece you produce and it shows! I bought the Delux version of "Lumineers" with the DVD and CD to support you guys directly from your website. you're the type of band it be really chill to grab a beer at a pub with and talk about music and the entire production of it. I wish you all many years of success!

I think Cleopatra and Angela is the same person. They are both the same scar at the same place on the face (under the left eye), the house is the same. The young guy in Cleopatra could be the baby that Angela is pregnant of. The fact that names are different and Angela take Cleopatra's taxi, could be a metaphor of something :')
+Cindy SM i thought that too, the guy who was in bed with angela looks a little a like with the guy who cleopatra left her son with. But maybe we are just tripping xD but so cool how they connect the history tho... I wonder if that key will be part of something in the future
I agree. Every video is a masterpiece, thought provoking, emotion evoking, and always memorable. Their songs and videos allow the listener, regardless of age, to become part of the story. I love them 💘🦋
I personally disagree. They have songwriters and they aren't very good. Their vocalist sounds very whiny and the guitar player and drummer are of the level of a middle school student. I wish a more skilled set of people were chosen to play these songs
"Strangers in this town will raise you up just to cut you down" true about town, schools and sadly, households. Rise above! Believe in who YOU are inside, not what they say♡
in the Cleopatra music video the pregnant lady comes out of a hotel room that has a red door and in this video the pregnant lady does the same and in the window of this video when she leaves you can see the taxi cab that was outside the hotel room in Cleopatra and that's the one she gets on. She left the keys of her car and got on the taxi cab. The connection is so beautiful
Spoiler about the possible story meaning of "Sleep On The Floor", "Angela" and "Cleopatra". /!\ /!\ In my opinion in "Sleep On The Floor" she cries for her late husband, who's the one who come to whisper to her ears. There is a part of her who stays at the funeral and the other part, her mind, who decide to wander to live again their story. She did got that tattoo, it was not a part of a dream. She wakes up on the carpet, were they first slept on when they got the house, but when she awakes she realizes he is gone forever and all she has left are her memories. In "Angela" she is, years later, with her new husband and about to have their baby. A part of her wants to leave, like in the good old days, but finally she decides to come back. She is going to be a mother. The Three Ladies are the same person, except that one represent the past, the second the present, and Cleopatra her future. In "Cleopatra" she has grow old, the passengers in the back seat, including her two younger self are her memories. Finally she drive back her son, but as she split it seems that she is divorced now. The has lost the love of her life and she is alone again, like at the end of "Sleep On The Floor". I don't know if "Ophelia" is connected to the story, but if it was I would probably think that it is somehow the story of her late first husband, as at the end of the video a car rushes in front of the man who is dancing on the middle of the road. I know it is not the same character, it was just a theory about the "Ophelia" part.
this song came on when I was on the way to the vet putting down my three-legged cat of 18 years. Despite the situation it was really peaceful and I listened to the Lumineers the whole car ride. Out of all the songs that played this one really hits me still and I don't know why haha. I know the song doesn't connect at all to my situation but it makes me think of happy memories of my old buddy.
My name is Angela and when my daughter introduced me to this song, my mind was blown. The alternate timelines that almost were in the video yet the lyrics that are the same as my life. I recently moved back to my hometown in Florida after living 18 years all over the world, from Japan to the UK. I even had a Volvo abroad. The lady in the video even reminds me of how I looked when I was pregnant with my son 26 years ago, down to her hair. 🥹
My art teacher plays this album so much.. recently a tragedy happened and two of our classmates died. This music has been so therapeutic. Thank you for this.
Jackie house THE LUMINEERS FANS PLEASE READ! Ok this is my theory! The girl from "sleep in the floor","Angela" and "cleopatra" are the same girl but at different ages and in an alternate reality that never actually happened. Allow me to explain my theory. At the beginning of "sleep on the floor" we see the couple at what seems to be a funeral. People think it's the funeral of her boyfriend but I believe it's her dads because as her "alternate self" runs out of the house to catch up with her boyfriend who's about take a cab you can see a black and white picture of some older military man with flowers on it. I believe her boyfriend asked her to travel/road trip with her and leave town with him. As we know they took the cab which was driven by the old version of her. (Remember this never actually happened) They bought a crashed little Volvo that was shown on "stubborn love" that explains why it had a white hood since on that music video you can see it crashed and hit the front part of the car. They travel to Nevada where she gets a tattoo on her left arm and buys a keychain in the form of a cactus. Both the tattoo and keychains will be shown on "Angela" as she's driving a Volvo and leaves the keys at the motel.(remember this never actually happened either) They come across the lumineers when they got married and fell asleep. She woke up back at her house where alone for she never left with her boyfriend. END OF SLEEP ON THE FLOOR. At the beginning of "Angela" we see a pregnant woman waking up and going to the bathroom. Her "alternate version" proceeds to grab her key (with the cactus keychain. also notice the house as she is leaving the garage. It will be the same house as shown on "cleopatra") and drives off into the night in her Volvo which is now fully fixed and painted white (my guess to match the white hood of the same crashed Volvo they had bought on "sleep on the floor" (please note that whatever her alternate version of herself does when her body separated never actually happens so in reality she never bought that car nor does she have a tattoo or bought that keychain) ok back to where I left off, she drives to a motel named "the three ladies" which must be a hint of the 3 different ages of the same girl. She wakes up and takes the cab and leaves the keys in the room. (None of this happened and the real version of her went back to sleep in bed her her husband, NOT THE SAME BOYFRIEND from "sleep on the floor" because remember she never actually went with him). END OF ANGELA. At the beginning of "cleopatra" you can see the old version of herself leaving the motel in the morning starting her job as a cabdriver. They show her picking up both her pregnant and young alternate versions of herself both of which never happened. There's something I also noticed, when she picks up her now young adult son (from when she was pregnant) you can see an elephant on the dashboard. They also show that same elephant on the dashboard on "stubborn love" that's because she's the little girl from "stubborn love"..... ok back to the story! she picks up her son and spends all day with him but has to drop him off at night at the same house that she had run away from on "Angela" almost as she didn't live there. BECAUSE SHE DOESNT! SHE GOT A DIVORCE! Once again at the end we can see her alternate version walks into the house with her son and husband "same guy that was on the bed on "Angela" but her real version walks back into the cab. END OF CLEOPATRA. (By the way all 3 ladies have a scar on their left cheek) SHORT VERSION. her father dies. Her boyfriend asks her to leave town with him. She doesn't. He leaves. She stays and ends up marrying some random guy. They get a house and pregnant. She regrets her decision of not leaving with her boyfriend. They get a divorce. She moves out, gets a job as a cab driver and lives in a motel. THE END.
Thank you very much, I needed some help on this... a thought: I believe it all happened, except the (3) alt. versions that seem to be what she truly wanted (in 3 stages of life), after reflection and now regret... I feel in "Cleopatra," she just wanted comfort, since she essentially left the two men in her life. It's nice to overanalyze things worth analyzing ;)
I remember one night in 2020 I was listening to throwback jam's on channel 1908 thinking about my truck accident which I was thrown through the windshield and got ran over back in 96 an I was bout ya take my own life an this song came on that channel that it had no business coming on to, it fully caught my attention because the name of the song is my name so I stopped what I was a about to do an listened to this do g an it more than brought happy tears and a strive outta no where to me that have me the strength right dead in there to get kny knee's and pray to Our Father to continue to give me the strength to live on. I now listen to this song everyday, I believe it was meant for me🙌💯
Misspelled some of the words, as I was typing I was tearing up once again cause this came on through a mix that I was listening to, now I downloaded it in my phone, Thank you for sharing an thank you Our Father for giving me another day 💯🙌
I remember hearing this live at key arena. We walked in as this song was being played, I wanted to see the Lumineers whole show so hearing them singing as we walked in was rough. I remember hearing "oh angela it's a long time coming..'drum thump' home at last" It is hard to explain the feeling, but hearing this song live is amazing.
Another brilliant song by The Lumineers...soon enough they will have a song titled Florentina *fingers-crossed* haha....I probably should not hold my breath on that😅...I only ever met my namesake ones and she was way older.
I want to know what the magic in that room was like. Standing in that space, an intimate, closed in crowd, swaying and holding drinks and each other as this song went over them. The lights dim as the band plays the tune like, “Come closer. We’ve got a story here.” I’d have chills being there.
Sometimes I get extremely sad when I listen to broken love songs. I'm afraid that I'll never mean this much to anyone. Sounds fucked up, cause it's not like I want people to hurt, it's just... if they didn't feel any pain when I was gone, did I ever really mean anything? After all, the opposite of love is indifference.
We create paradoxes for ourselves and every one around does the same. We may or may not mean anything to anyone and thats just fine. Whatever happens happens you be you cause i know when shit reaches to me i have this song to come back to which i am gonna blast through and no one can change that . 😁😁
The connectivity between songs is what separates The Lumineers from the rest. Any one else wonder if Angela and "Angie" from Slow It Down are the same person?
I'm sure of it. My theory is that she is someone important to the band. They were in love and broke up on the last album, but finally got back together. I don't know who she is but I love her.
I'm pretty late but I think they are. Because she kinda looks like her, she has the wave tattoo and it mentions the song "when you left the city" or something like that.. Angie from the other songs didn't leave the city with him, as you can tell from the last seconds of the video... So yeah, it was be talking for the same person
Did you notice the name of the Motel is "Three ladies" ?
"Angela", "Cleopatra, "Ophelia"
Pretty sure thats just a coinsidence.

also am I the only one that noticed the motel is called "the three ladies" - i'd say that's Angela, Ophelia, and Cleopatra right there!
The three ladies could also be a reference to the Fates, who number three and control the destiny of all mortals...
good point!
This stuck out immediately to me too. I was going to point it out, but you beat me to the punch three months ago.
"The Three Ladies" References the three different points in Cleopatra's life as seen in Sleeping on the Floor, Angela, and Cleopatra.
I mean you have Darlene too, and idk if Angie counts

Jason woaw that's true and amazing
Also, My Eyes is apart of the story... it's her as an old woman and reflecting upon her life before she passes away. It really is a beautiful story
Joder! Tienes mi primer nombre y mi apellido 😂
Very true to me to ! And my name is Angela ! Angela’s go through a lot !

!!!!!
@@angelasarmiento3415 😅😍😍
one of the best feelings is that you could actually feel and listen to a single unified story just by hearing and watching their music videos. it's really rare this days to watch music videos that are creatively put on together like this band do :)

Axelle Jay Yare troye sivan, blue neighbourhood series. Not the same inedible encrypted kind of story but anyway...
Axelle Jay Yare very well said. I agree 💗

I really love this song
Its the same lady at three stages of her life, thats fuccking awesomee
would not have qualified it better lol
Gets me in the feelssssss every damn time
Hey, call me up 🌹

Thanks
Same buddy
yeah 2035 gonna have kids named *cleopatra & ophelia & angela* _for sure_
How 'bout one named *sleep on the floor* ?
ana de araujo your boys are going to be special I guess
And don't forget for Gloria
Mr. Pascal Winston Gloria is about an alcoholic woman who cheats on his husband and then leaves her family behind though... and Ophelia has a very tragic story given that she drowns herself :/
Geez, I hope not. Cleopatra killed herself with a poisonous snake, and Ophelia killed herself by drowning. NOT good names for kids!
It's hard not to appreciate the brilliance of their story telling, the intricacy of each video for the story is amazing
For those that are wondering about that last piano part. It’s called “patience” & it can be found in their album Cleopatra.
thanks for this
@@davidsimmons3199 indeed
Thank you!!!!!!!!
Oh you are a BLESSING!! Thank you so much for this!!
thank you
the people from Sleep On The Floor are in here! woah everything's so intertwined
and the woman in cleopatra. look at the ending when she went in the taxi
yeah..they're all the same woman on her different stages of her life
theWanderer521 omg no way.. are they all cleopatra
yeah...stages of her life with what might be the outcome of her decisions - they were inspired by a woman's life story (they said on an interview and concert) so they made songs about her
my mind was blown whenn i saw the sleep on the floor people in cleopatra and now i just cant even.
Leaving a comment here so that if anyone likes it,I will be reminded to come and listen to this masterpiece again
what if the lumineers start making songs about every one who got in cleopatra taxi ??
I just read my comment and wondered how the hell someone had the same idea as mine
xD don't worry , it happens to me too !! LOL
Trolling yourself is a pretty impressive feat haha
THE MOTEL IS CALLED THE THREE LADIES!!! ophelia, angela, and cleopatra omg
You just listened to the wrong one
the taxi woman of Cleopatra!
yes, already walked with her ! hehe
FEMSLASH
AS it also starts at the same house cleopatra ends at
that is nice
And the same couple from "sleep in the floor"
It's the same girl from sleep on the floor, she has the same wave tattoo on her arm you can see it at 2:24
yeah
yeah, actually is a 3 videos whole story in this order: Sleep on the floor, Angela, and ends with cleopatra (with throwbacks inside)
you can also see them dancing in the background at 3:40
I thought it was in the opposite way and Angela was connecting all of them?
Faz muito sentido agora a história.. Sleep on the floor, Angela e Cleopatra !! Show!!
if you look at the crowd you can see the couple from the the sleep on the floor music video. i know it's all connected but i just noticed that
bmapel she also has the wave tattoo that the girl in sleep on the floor got
bmapel and the tattoo on the taxi drivers arm is the same as the one she got in the sleep on the floor music video
I hope my girl feels the same thing as yours :>
same here but sadly it's one sided. Sharing music feels so intimate and nice
I’m really happy for the both of you and that the both of enjoy every moment together

The Lumineers are the best band in the world. Their songwriting is seriously underrated and they have a sincere appreciation for their fans!
learning this on acoustic guitar....baby steps

Lyrics:
When you left this town, with your windows down
And the wilderness inside
Let the exits pass, all the tar and glass
'Til the road and sky align
The strangers in this town,
They raise you up just to cut you down
Oh Angela it's a long time coming
And your Volvo lights lit up green and white
With the cities on the signs
But you held your course to some distant war
In the corners of your mind
From the second time around
The only love I ever found
Oh Angela it's a long time coming
Home at last
Were you safe and warm in your coat of arms
With your fingers in a fist
Did you hear the notes, all those static codes
In the radio abyss?
Strangers in this town,
They raise you up just to cut you down
Oh Angela it's a long time coming
Oh Angela spent your whole life running
Home at last
Home at last
Vacancy, hotel room, lost in me, lost in you
Angela, on my knees, I belong, I believe
Home at last
Home at last
Home at last
Home at last
Home at last, hmm
Thank you
thanks, was looking for this.

Oh the tattoo. I love the connection this three vid including cleopatra makes me cry so hard
Many of us can't find home, even when we're there.
Frankrado exactly!!
u're right, i've never felt home anywhere...
This
Because home isn't a place, it's a feeling.
Home is where the heart is.
In the end she grab the taxi from Cleopatra ;)
oh my god thats right!! 😩💗
+Cindy SM nice👍
yeaah!! That's so awesome!! I wish they put out a 3 video to let everything complete
+Cindy SM i thought that too, the guy who was in bed with angela looks a little a like with the guy who cleopatra left her son with. But maybe we are just tripping xD but so cool how they connect the history tho... I wonder if that key will be part of something in the future
The piano solo at the end made me cry manly tears.
Beautiful indeed!
Every video they make is a masterpiece!!!!!
You could say they are quite... Luminating?
that's your opinion
Joanna haily i came from Cleopatra. So cute
Has anyone noticed THE THREE LADIES motel? Cleopatra, Angela and the girl from Sleep on the Floor!!! Mindblowing! The Lumineers are incredible!!
This song is absolutely beautiful...
I'm from Mexico, speak spanish and I can say this "This is the best group".
Trato de contagiar a la cantidad máxima de personas con "Ophelia".

It's even more Beautiful when your Bride's name is Angela!!! I dedicated this song to her!! My Bride!!!
"Strangers in this town will raise you up just to cut you down" true about town, schools and sadly, households. Rise above! Believe in who YOU are inside, not what they say♡
✌️
the moment when the two separate life choices split off sends a chill down my spine everytime. we can all relate to that "what if" feeling ♡
Everyone's talking about the video... I'm just here for the music. Amazing tune.
Nostalgic Zone I’m here to get impregnated
true
Nostalgic Zone absolutely
Real music , holy shit!
in the Cleopatra music video the pregnant lady comes out of a hotel room that has a red door and in this video the pregnant lady does the same and in the window of this video when she leaves you can see the taxi cab that was outside the hotel room in Cleopatra and that's the one she gets on. She left the keys of her car and got on the taxi cab. The connection is so beautiful
you can also see the main lady that comes out in the Cleopatra music video walking and getting into her cab in this video near the end omg! I'm crying
Woah, now I know why she looked familiar!! This is amazing
My dad used to listen to this song all the time before he passed and this brought me to tears.
Loved these songs forever, found out they are connected. Crying. Crying. Crying.
"The three ladies" on the motel neon light... so subtle!!
For three years I listen to this song on the best and worst days, this is my favorite song, it sets me free and makes me sure I'm on my way home.
That moment when your name is Angela...☺️☺️
I feel special
My good taste in music, brought me here.
Has anyone noticed that there is this couple from "Sleep on The Floor" leaving in the background at 3:40?
its a series all the videos go together, its sleep on the floor, angela, cleopatra, and then ophelia
Isabel DeLaGarza yep
@@isabeldelagarza6934 tx I didn't know about the that
yeah, check on 2:44
it is the ballad of Cleopatra
I still think this is the best song Lumineers ever wrote. It moves me even though I've seen it so many times. It's so comforting.
Spoiler about the possible story meaning of "Sleep On The Floor", "Angela" and "Cleopatra".
/!\ /!\
In my opinion in "Sleep On The
Floor" she cries for her late husband, who's the one who come to whisper
to her ears. There is a part of her who stays at the funeral and the
other part, her mind, who decide to wander to live again their story.
She did got that tattoo, it was not a part of a dream. She wakes up on
the carpet, were they first slept on when they got the house, but when
she awakes she realizes he is gone forever and all she has left are her
memories. In "Angela" she is, years later, with her new husband and
about to have their baby. A part of her wants to leave, like in the good
old days, but finally she decides to come back. She is going to be a
mother. The Three Ladies are the same person, except that one represent
the past, the second the present, and Cleopatra her future. In
"Cleopatra" she has grow old, the passengers in the back seat, including
her two younger self are her memories. Finally she drive back her son,
but as she split it seems that she is divorced now. The has lost the
love of her life and she is alone again, like at the end of "Sleep On
The Floor".
I don't know if "Ophelia" is connected to the story, but if it was I would probably think that it is somehow the story of her late first husband, as at the end of the video a car rushes in front of the man who is dancing on the middle of the road. I know it is not the same character, it was just a theory about the "Ophelia" part.
Most amazing videos ever...
Exactly
The name of the motel is “THE THREE LADIES” omfgggg
It makes me cry when I look at it that way
wow this is an incredibly beautiful and seemingly accurate analogy. Love this so much thank you
I love all the videos are connected!! The Lumineers!
That piano at 4:32 is so soothing.
I regret not knowing this band sooner
Who could possibly dislike this?
this song came on when I was on the way to the vet putting down my three-legged cat of 18 years. Despite the situation it was really peaceful and I listened to the Lumineers the whole car ride. Out of all the songs that played this one really hits me still and I don't know why haha. I know the song doesn't connect at all to my situation but it makes me think of happy memories of my old buddy.
This song is extremely underrated
New fan.. I just watched 3 videos of lumineers and CANT STOP CRYING!! What a band to deliver such message to humanity😢❤💞

What a beautiful song. His voice just draws you in.
If you look like her you're beautiful !!!!
IM GOING TO YOUR CONCERT ON THURSDAY IF IT KILLS MEEEEE
Have fun, they're amazing.
have a great time :)
Dude dead serious - do you have an extra ticket?
Enjoy it its killing me I can't make it

What an incredible album from start to finish.

I love how the piano doesn't stop for so long. Such a beautiful instrument without a doubt.
the lumineers are such an underrated band
That piano in the end deserves to be a song of it´s own
it is its called patience
People have mentioned the scars, but has anyone noticed this girl and the girl from sleep on the floor have the same wave tattoo?
They are the same girl, who is also the old lady (they have the same tattoo) in Cleopatra. She is the one that is talked about in Ophelia.
Jackie house
THE LUMINEERS FANS PLEASE READ!
(Remember this never actually happened)
They bought a crashed little Volvo that was shown on "stubborn love" that explains why it had a white hood since on that music video you can see it crashed and hit the front part of the car. They travel to Nevada where she gets a tattoo on her left arm and buys a keychain in the form of a cactus. Both the tattoo and keychains will be shown on "Angela" as she's driving a Volvo and leaves the keys at the motel.(remember this never actually happened either)
They come across the lumineers when they got married and fell asleep.
(By the way all 3 ladies have a scar on their left cheek)
SHORT VERSION.
her father dies.
THE END.
Paola Mendez oh my god now I understand it all. Thanks I was looking for an explanation 👌🏽
Paola Mendez
I love your theory 😊
I remember one night in 2020 I was listening to throwback jam's on channel 1908 thinking about my truck accident which I was thrown through the windshield and got ran over back in 96 an I was bout ya take my own life an this song came on that channel that it had no business coming on to, it fully caught my attention because the name of the song is my name so I stopped what I was a about to do an listened to this do g an it more than brought happy tears and a strive outta no where to me that have me the strength right dead in there to get kny knee's and pray to Our Father to continue to give me the strength to live on.
This song makes me miss my dad so much I wish I spent more time with him.

Who else love the last piano part

sandy carell ^ya its patience Yall should check it out on Spotify I listen to it all the time

A HUGE THANK YOU FOR EXISTING IN THIS LIFETIME, THE LUMINEERS
Sometimes I get extremely sad when I listen to broken love songs. I'm afraid that I'll never mean this much to anyone. Sounds fucked up, cause it's not like I want people to hurt, it's just... if they didn't feel any pain when I was gone, did I ever really mean anything? After all, the opposite of love is indifference.
We create paradoxes for ourselves and every one around does the same. We may or may not mean anything to anyone and thats just fine. Whatever happens happens you be you cause i know when shit reaches to me i have this song to come back to which i am gonna blast through and no one can change that . 😁😁
@Coco Nut this is exactly how I feel.. Couldnt have said it better myself
Why you said that
spot on
God Bless you.
The connectivity between songs is what separates The Lumineers from the rest. Any one else wonder if Angela and "Angie" from Slow It Down are the same person?
Connor Gorman YESSSSS, when I first heard this song it was the first thought on my mind.
I'm sure of it. My theory is that she is someone important to the band. They were in love and broke up on the last album, but finally got back together. I don't know who she is but I love her.
MCU lol
I'm pretty late but I think they are. Because she kinda looks like her, she has the wave tattoo and it mentions the song "when you left the city" or something like that.. Angie from the other songs didn't leave the city with him, as you can tell from the last seconds of the video... So yeah, it was be talking for the same person
OH MY GOSH YES THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE
I love The Lumineers!
They do the most beautiful and meaningful love songs ever!
