The reason why it takes so long is because the tyres cannot be changed until the car is refueled and only 4 mechanics can work on the car. This can take even longer if they have to do work on the brakes. Remember the whole point of an endurance race isn't to be as fast as possible.
Thank god somebody with common sense in this comment section. Half the comments are dumb dumbs asking "why soo slow?"
Why didn't they change the front tires, especially on a front wheel drive car? One of the last of a long series of bad decisions for the Nissan prototype that year.

I can't believe that the Nissan Nismo GT R LM is a front wheel drive.
It's a front wheel dream and sadly it stayed that way.
it's supposed to be AWD really, it's just that the engine doesn't send any power to the rear wheels only the hybrid system does ...if they could've gotten it working that is xD

one of the most unreliable cars in lmp1 i would say
they had massive issues with the car being found to not meet regulations with little time left until the first season the car was meant to compete in so compromises were made ...if only they used that as a reason to postpone launch by a year and come with a complete car :/

The reason why it was so slow was because they never got the hybrid part to work properly so its just the engine on its own
I only watched this because it was one of the cars in Gran Turismo Sport.
This man is a God because he gave us a perspective of what it is like in the Le Mans 24 Hours pits :)

WEC, F1, and basically all other pit crews cant hold a candle to NHRA Top Fuel Dragster crews. They break down an entire engine in under 5 mins... insanity
He gets paid more to do this than I get paid working the entire year

His job does not only consist of this. These people have to train pretty hard and are probably also responsible for repairing the car before and after the race
trust me, they dont..
He deserve it.
I work with a guy who's done this stuff at Le Mans before. He says it's good pay but you're away for days at a time and obviously this isn't the only race they have to work at each year. He not even 30 yet but quit this and is closing down his garage due to stress and raising a family to work a warehouse job so it can't be as good a gig as it seems.

My favourite Nissan GT-R LM NISMO..............they documentary are pretty stunning,at least they try their best in LMP.....I don't care people say the slowest car or etc,Nissan is still my favourite cars

+Zonkobel Should check out Toyota's LM P1 car. TS040, it's a hybrid enabled LM car. I drove it virtually in Project Cars, quick acceleration out of turns as the batteries have juice but it lacks top end after the batteries deplete. 6/10 for being a good racer, in that game anyways.

Sam Schellhase / Underneath the car there are some metal bars, and those get pushed down (lifting the car) when the mechanics connect to the car a hose that is directly connected to a pressurized air tank.

@GP2_Engine F1 pitstops are really easy compared to a lot of others
@GP2_Engine Well only 2 persons are allowed to work on the car in pitlane, not a team of mechs as in F1
Seems like the pit spot length was determined by the time it took to refuel all the fuel. They looked slow but they required that amount of time to refuel and did stuff at a pace to just keep up
They didn't take fuel at this pit stop. The hose the guy detaches at the end is the pneumatic hose for lifting the car. Watch how it drops back to its wheel right after detaching.

Having never watched endurance racing but a lot of f1 I appreciate these "slow stops" different regulations. You can't have 12 people working on the car. What's with all the dumb dumbs in the comments saying " F1 is faster why these guys so slow" well no shit Sherlock, I think you missed the point of the video.

And there are rules in this stop like no change tyre before fuel done....or there might be aero change due to change of condition....way less crew, driver change, oil change or broken internal
