The last point is the reason I absolutely fucking hate endurance races in GT7. The time is takes the AI to pit compared to you is about 5x faster and its absolutely bullshit.
The collision in the GT3 pit stop takes me back. I still remember following the leader into the pits in Grand Valley, for the final pit stop of my first endurance race. The leader seemed to have better pace and I was sure he'd pull away after the stop. I was watching him in the rear view as I sat in my box as he came of the jacks and was released directly into the path of a third car entering the box in front of his. He got stuck for a while and it was gg 😛
I still recall GT6 struggling with 1080p especially when it comes to rolling start cutscenes (it doesn't even feel like 30fps sometimes) so my guess is that the pitstop staying in the cockpit view is done to eliminate the need to render detailed pit crew elements at an inconsistent framerate.
My guess is that in GT Sport they changed to the teleportation due to online multiplayer. Maybe it was easier to sync. I don't get why they didn't add proper real time pit stops on GT7 singleplayer tho.

GT3 actually looks incredible. I always will have a special love for 3 over GT4 because it was the flagship release for PS2 and imo it always seems graphically ahead of GT4 in a lot of ways.
the fact that all the older games showed your car actually driving on the pitlane instead of just disappearing, cutting to a pit stop cutscene and just re-appearing at the exit of the pit stop with your car no clipping inside other cars honestly makes me sad
I've always felt it was pathetic how they went backwards in Sport and 7 with the teleporting and not showing any other cars in the pits. The cinematic style and animations are great, but why does the realism go completely out the window each stop? Most tracks are even worse than this -- waiting 10-30 seconds watching your empty pit stall before the car finally arrives, only to teleport to the exit when the stop is complete. Utter nonsense. At least GT4, 5 and 6 all did this correctly.
As a person who plays gt7 everyday i think it’s good to keep the teleporting exit in the game, idk when i pit other players seem to be already next to me ones i leave and if they din’t had the teleportation exit i me and including other players will loose to tryhards always catching up like fast.
From Gran Turismo 5 to 7 I really don’t apreciate any significant upgrade appart from resolution. For me, the best were from 1 to 4 tho. Despite the low resolution.
A-Spec was the best. I'd run 24 hour endurance races on B-Spec & farm for credits that way using my Indy Car. I also miss in 2 how you could upgrade your car to racing specs & that would give it decals on a body kit. Or how you could crank 1,000 horse power out of the Escudo Pikes Peak Version. Then there's the oval track with one of those two tye dye colored drag cars (which were thousand horse power monsters that couldn't turn & we're hard as shit to unlock)
In GT 5 if i remember correctly you had control of the car driving through pit lane and if you were racing and passed the pits you actually seen the pit crews working on the cars
The new GT games gt sport and GT7 really should include other cars in the same scene and not just your car by itself then popping up at the end exiting.
Forza outro nível ? tu já viu como é o Pit Stop do Forza ? É igual do GT1 ao 3, nem equipe tem, já GT tem animação da equipe desde GT4, tem que ser muito fãboy de Forza pra dizer que tá em outro nível.
The cars disappearing into the pits is AWFUL in GT7 and I cannot comprehend why PD did it that way.. it’s so distracting and ridiculous to see the cars pitting in front of you disappear.. they did it so much better in the old games.. and GT4 is still the G.O.A.T. with all of those options. I loved changing to b-spec in longer races!!
GT7 has got to fix the pit issues, some tracks it takes up to 30 seconds to travel down a pit road just to get to your stall no way it should take that long, look at the older games, you were in and out in the same time it takes just to get into your stall to even start work, and the ability to refuel while getting tires changed should be incorporated, to cut down pit time. And they definitely have to look at fixing getting dinged a 3 second penalty as soon as you are exiting pit road, how can the car be on auto drive and I get hit with a 3 second penalty while exiting?! Happens to me on so many tracks.
went from yo we got animations for tire changes, to oops we cant make animations for all wheel types so sometimes it looks jank, to you cant see the animation being jank if we swap the camera every tenth of a second so you never get to see the animation in the first place
Oh wow that's a blast from the past, the first race on the video was the 60 lap endurance race of grand Valley speedway. I typically used the impreza rally car with standard gear ratio, also that's pretty much where I mastered manual transmission L2/R2.... Good memories 😂
i know that the focus of the video is the evolution of pit stops, but damn man, the graphical evolution of gt2 to gt3 is absolutely insane, it doesn't even feel like it's just one console generation above
Never understood why Gran Turismo couldn't get the car engine sounds right. I understand having so many cars in the game that you can't get them all correct. But they could take care of the most meaningful and most used cars in the game for a better overall experience. I really enjoyed Gran Turismo 2's aggressive sound and turbo. It's not realistic by any means but it's awesome for a PS1 game. Everything after just seems like they picked a tone on a synthesizer and just change the pitch and add a few effects. It's really frustrating to me being a stickler for a good exhaust note. Have to say my favorite game would be GT4, not for the sounds but for the gameplay and the amount of content and the premium atmosphere. Great video by the way.

the fact that all the older games showed your car actually driving on the pitlane instead of just disappearing, cutting to a pit stop cutscene and just re-appearing at the exit of the pit stop with your car no clipping inside other cars honestly makes me sad
I think it looks cooler. It really shows how good the models look.
You know they’re a real Gran Turismo fan when they use the Castrol Supra
Gt4 gráficos insanos pra época, até hoje é bonito !
The wheels aren’t round
And we saw the evolution of the Supra to boot, with a nice throwback in the last race!
1:57 I love how it says "the real driving simulator" as there is a car floating
Gt6 and 5 are good but goddam i love gt4 pit cutscenes
Gran Turismo 3 and 4 doesn't just look fantastic for it's time, it looks fantastic for any time!😄
They really don’t…. Look really rough.
…for it is time?
No man they look really rough even for a 2004 game, just look at nfs underground 2
From Gran Turismo 5 to 7 I really don’t apreciate any significant upgrade appart from resolution.
For me, the best were from 1 to 4 tho. Despite the low resolution.
0:47 thats where the annoying tire sound started
But that annoying sound gives more realism to the game.
Did not know Watkins Glen is FINALLY on Gran Turismo. This is a game changer. Will definitely be buying this game soon. Thanks for the info.
Got added last month in tandem with June's update 😊
6:23 The rope phased through the car
your presentation skills are top-notch!
The new GT games gt sport and GT7 really should include other cars in the same scene and not just your car by itself then popping up at the end exiting.
You just took us back to the 90s. I am addictive to this game since GT1 came out.
That GT2 to GT3 jump shook me, and I knew it was coming.
7つのシリーズで出場し続けるカストロールスープラの強さを教えてくれる動画
Pitstops peaked at GT6. The whole franchise peaked at GT6.
More like GT3 /4. GT5 and 6 weren’t really the best received full games but imo I think they were still great
Gt6 isnt good at all especially with the recycled cars, i remember choosing thr Supra and seeing low textured the model is
Just found your channel while I wait for 18 downloads for GT5 thanks for the walk down memory LANE!!!
Don't cut the exit then. Never seen a car exit the pits on autopilot while cutting the line
To be fair, some organizations ban the practice of refueling while any other work is done to the car, including tire changes.
I love how consistent you was with the supra😍
Ojalá algún día hagan el remake de gran turismo 2!
Thanks for the upload 👍👍👍
GT Sport / GT7 is peak car game graphics. Literally insane
The turbo spooling sound on GT2 goes so damn hard lmao
A física está espetacular n gt7. Um carro dentro do outro...
A Sony ta de brincadeira com os fãs do GT, vai acabar perdendo espaço para outros jogos de corrida. ( isso se já não perdeu )
every time i watch, i leave feeling more knowledgeable!
3:47 bro? 🤨
Wheel Gunners: "All done!"
Fuel guy: *still refueling*
The same car in every game. That's sick.
@02:57 the transition from GT4 to GT5 looks like a downgrade
hell no lmao
Very beautiful representation of GT history bro.
Not played since GT4 man this takes me back, and makes me feel very old
went from yo we got animations for tire changes, to oops we cant make animations for all wheel types so sometimes it looks jank, to you cant see the animation being jank if we swap the camera every tenth of a second so you never get to see the animation in the first place
Too beautiful how the animation is better
The jump from GT3 To GT4 is insane bro
Fun fact at 1:37. That blue building on the right is the Old Sony HQ. They moved it only recently
GT5: Using 5-point torquing sequence on center lug wheels
GT Sport: Using 5-lug wheels on center lug hubs
GT7: Okay I think we got it this time boys
I enjoyed the fact that you’ve kept your livery the same for all of them
It's a recurring car/sponsor in the franchise so it makes sense
Wish you would show the nascar pitstop in GT5, it was crazy good.
Jeez .. that ps5 supra is the nicest looking car ive seen in a game for a long time !! Amazing
I love how it went from not having collisions to hitting the car in front and back to ghost cars.
I don't hate sport or GT7 pitstops but I do think 4-6 had it pretty good with the whole process
Oh wow that's a blast from the past, the first race on the video was the 60 lap endurance race of grand Valley speedway. I typically used the impreza rally car with standard gear ratio, also that's pretty much where I mastered manual transmission L2/R2.... Good memories 😂
More than 20 years, they dont even have initiative to give the driver a drink 😂
Let alone driver switch animation when selecting B-Spec
@@divecolosio4988 as a man of culture, i also demand sexy girl before the race start haha 😝
I just love how the first 3 games sent gravity to hell, made the car fly for some seconds and then make it land without any noise at all
i know that the focus of the video is the evolution of pit stops, but damn man, the graphical evolution of gt2 to gt3 is absolutely insane, it doesn't even feel like it's just one console generation above
Gran Turismo 4 still holds up insanely well for a game that is 20 years old next year.
The one thing I love about gt4 cause when in endurance mode u can have the option of doing bspec 😂
