Would this be the same concept if I wanted to reduce my pant dart to add length to waist I could
Cut and move over the desired width my example is I have 2 1 inch darts in pants pattern front and back. I want to reduce those to a quarter inch with this method work. Thank you for your content

Sew your darts front the bottom to the tip.
