This is such a great review. I am having trouble finding what kind of mounting plates the Surui uses. Thanks for any info you can provide. New subscriber! Jim in Oregon
Many thanks, hmm how to describe them 😅 well they’re compatible with some of the DJI gimbals. Thanks to the locking mechanism I’d bet it would work with other common styles too, manfrotto etc
I´ve been following with interest this tripod for a long time as well as the YC Onion Pineta Peak, mainly due to their their fast setups. Both are out of stock lately (at least the latch models). Maybe copyright infringements on the Sachtler design? Wish there were more alternatives. The Flowtechs are just too expensive for now.
I'm not a fan of the twist locks but I may consider this. The only other tripod of potential interest is the SCG StediFast HD. Do you know anything about those legs and how it may compare? * Not interested in the head, only legs. I shoot content outdoors for adventure brands. - Do you find that the legs are stable enough? - Do the legs slide out nicely? - Do you need to crank the twist handles to lock it? - Do the legs wobble when panning? - Do the legs flex at all? - Is anything annoying to use? - Quality issues?
This is actually better than Sucktler if you think of what you said, 4 for the price of 1 of Sucktler. Not just that, you yourself said it has no plastic you could detect. So why keep saying Sucktler is better? Because of price, admit it.
Enjoy guys 👍🏻 I hope I’m pronouncing Sirui correctly, this seems to be how others do! 😅
Thanks for your review. Good luck with your new channel. 😎😎
Watched this and bought! Huge sale!
This video really helped, thanks for the good work !

I like the handle!
Flow tech by far is the best, but it’s nice to see some competition.

Is the tripod feet stay in place or move around easily?
I want the weight to be heavy on my tripod because it reduces the chance of any shake or stutter in camera shots.

The other brand is the original in this style and much lighter. This units looks great and much better price!
