I guess I didn’t make it clear enough in the video but the a Holley EFI has nothing to do with the starter wire issue. The Holley isn’t even hooked up yet. And the problem is occurring BEFORE the start relay. The wire coming from the ignition to the starter relay already has 7 volts on it with the key in the run position. So any ideas?
Is the motor grounded? Bad grounds or missing grounds affect voltage.
Yes everything is well grounded.
Purple to solinoid and battery wire to starter. I'm stumped as well. Let me check my vats when I get home. My relay is still in and I bypassed it as well years ago.My second holley install on a thirdgen. Just did a dominator with 4l60e and cnp on sbc stroker.
I’m building a 3rd gen as well, I personally like the turbos behind the head lights. I like the clean look.

@@BadLuckGarage No big deal I work for myself doing HVAC so I have downtime every now and then. As to the voltage on the starter wire, I would hook it to the starter and do a battery drain test.

I tell anyone who is doing a swap about that pan. I paid just about as much for a pickup tube and pan, then I paid about $100 to have the turbo return bung welded in. I wish I knew about that pan before.

Robert,I'm sure you already know, but the conventional th350-400 dip stick tube wont work on the LS swaps that use the 350-400 trans.. I used the Lokar flexible dipstick tube. don't get those cheap ones from ebay that look like a Lokar because the stick wont go back into the tube... Just finished my LS swap and used some of your videos for the help. thanks for sharing!Marcus,
They’ll work, you just have to use a bracket extension to bolt it to a different bell housing bolt. Mine went in just fine. The issue was the one I worded was too long and stuck out above the hoodline. So I cut a few inches off the tube but when I tried to trim the dipstick itself it literally snapped into three pieces. I’ve got a shitty Lokar style one coming to use for now but I’m still trying to find a shorter oem style one that has a locking dipstick.

Just wondering if has some back feed where you jumped out starter relay. Possible to plug relay back in and find coil wire. One to ground and other to a 12v ignition
The 7volts is already there before the starter relay. That’s why I’m thinking a short in the ignition switch or something. The wire coming from the ignition switch TO the starter relay is keeping 7 bolts in the “run” position, then going to a full 12 volts in “crank” position.
If the car is never gonna see the street mount the turbos up and dump the exhaust under the fenders. I'm currently in the wiring stage in my Camaro ls swap also, planning to put 12v to it tomorrow so i wonder if i'm gonna have the same 7v issue your having with yours? Great video man keep up the good work.

Bad Luck Garage I finished some wiring today and put the battery in my car and I didn’t have the 7v at my starter. I never cut my stock 3rd gen harness down as far as you cut yours down. Also my car was a 5 speed and swapping to a auto, so there is a few differences there. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Yea I’m really thinking my ignition switch is the issue.

Looks like the driver's is pointed down.
So, if that's the case, it kind of precludes sticking them out the hood, which I agree would be cooler.
yea theyre all kinds of fucked up. I got them to refund half price and bought some vbands. Gonna shorten them up and weld new vbands on straight.
I just realized what you were talking about. The drivers side wasnt bolted on in the video, it was just setting on the brake lines, lol.

I gotta be honest....I'm really shocked that nobody seems to want me to stick the turbos out of the hood....especially since thre intake isnt gonna fit under the hood anyway. 😅

Yea they would just barely be sticking up in the front there....maybe about 3/4 of the turbocharger would be above the hood line. None of that highboy can’t see shit type of thing. Lol

Actually been under the weather for about a week now.
Maybe just contact the seller and tell him how f’ed the collectors are and see if he will send you some new vband flanges. That way you can cut the collector where you want it and can just weld the new flanges onto the fresh cut.
Already contacted him. Haven’t heard back yet.
