I've created a delicious recipe for a summer soup using fresh vegetables, including Butternut Squash and Sweet Red Peppers. NOTE!!!! I forgot to mention the Sweet potato you need to chop and add to the mix.
Serving lunch at my friend Nancy's 1840's Gothic style home.

Another stunning video!!! What a gorgeous house your friend Nancy has! I love that you shared so much history and details with us. Hand stenciled all of that wall???? 😵💫Wow! I loved her little shed. Such beautiful furniture pieces. Can’t you just imagine all the history and memories attached to each piece? I wish people didn’t get old and unable to care for their homes anymore. Will you please thank her for allowing us to see such a wonderful house? She’s very blessed to have a neighbor and friend like you.💗 That soup looks delish! I make a sweet potato soup like that but never thought of eating it cold. Yum! I noticed that you used her little pitcher to serve your limeade. Your precious garden and animals just bring so much joy to my day. Those little donkeys are too cute!!! And I gain a new wrinkle in my brain each episode! I never knew peacocks shed their beautiful tail feathers. My friend used to give me some from his peacocks that I used to tie flies with. (They make the best Japanese Beetles!) Thank you Jeri for your channel!🙌🏻
Oh my gosh! You just reminded me that I put 1 sweet potato in this soup and left it out of the recipe! We have SO many peacock feathers around here, I am constantly giving them away to kids at the church and anyone else that comes to the house.
Your garden just gets more and more beautiful, an inspiration! Lovely to see Ursula and Jemima, feels like ages since we’ve seen them.
They will be having a pedicure pretty soon, I'll video the procedure.
Wonderful! We just added two new donkeys to our menagerie, and their favorite snacks are bananas! (Peels and all) ❤ It is always so sad when a wonderful steward has to leave a historic home. I hope someone preservation minded is able to buy it and also be a wonderful caretaker.
Oh Yes, they do love the peels and the stems!
I think your home is lovely too❣️I always get excited to see any of your videos pop up because you are most ‘lovely’ in all you do wether it be your house, your cooking or your gardening and, of course, the way you put your own touch into all of it. Love it🦋🐝🐸🐓🦚
Thank you!!
The pollinators should ALL be happy. You have so many types of flowers 🐝💗
I'm sitting here with my cup of Harney and Sons hot tea watching the most breathtakingly beautiful garden video with such lovely music. THANK YOU for such a wonderful, uplifting experience this morning, Jeri! ❤
You are most welcome!
What a lovely video. A cozy pot of homemade soup. Is there anything better!
Then a beautiful walk through the garden with your menagerie. But, the best was being able to have lunch in the garden , under a shade tree, with an 89 year old friend. We should all be so blessed. I am retired ,and my best friend moved to another state. I dreamt of us having days like these. But life does inevitably change.
I will miss her like crazy!
Just love everything so beautiful , your peacocks make me ponder how The lord makes such wondrous beauty ! Thanks for sharing
Oh Jeri, how wonderful!! The beautiful fruit of all your labor. I know I will watch this many times. Our donkeys, Jenny and Shorty, love the treats too. I would love to have peacocks, but I guess I'll just be happy with our chickens. It's just too rural and wild here, I'm afraid they wouldn't survive here unless they were constantly caged and I wouldn't want that. ...If I had been there I would certainly have attended that estate sale! That $4.00 pitcher was a nice buy for someone, and if the other items were priced as reasonably I'm sure the sale was a huge success. What a treat to have such a lovely homemade lunch too! I know your friend was truly blessed by it. I love vintage iron garden furniture. I love almost anything metal in the garden actually. I have a similar set of table and chairs waiting right now for a new top and new seats before I can put them to use. I look forward to seeing the set you just got set up at your house! Your friend is indeed leaving a beautiful house, and I hope whomever gets it appreciates it's history as much as your friend obviously has. But I adore everything I've seen from your house, inside and out. Thank you again for spending your time with us and sharing so much beauty with us.
She has hundreds of beautiful items and the sale barely made a dent, so we are doing it again in June.
Jeri I am doing cartwheels because I LOVE when you do cooking videos! the garden is beautiful. The money plants are coming up as well as the seeds from the lake I collected last year. I’ll send you pic…..that’s a fascinating house with real history for sure, and a perfect place for a garden lunch on a beautiful day….. I love your stove BTW…..and look forward to the next video to see what you cook…… blessing to you and your husband…..Brian
I am so happy for your money plants and zinnias!
Your friend Nancy's home was fascinating to see. So much history in these old homes.
It was lovely to see your donkeys again. I wonder if the peacock gets lonely or if it just enjoys being with all the other birds and animals 😊
TheMr. Peabody has 2 peacock brothers and 8 chicken friends.
Your sanctuary makes a beautiful home for all the lucky creatures who live there. I admire the efforts you took to bring a delish luncheon to Nancy. No doubt it will be a happy memory for her to keep.
God bless you. Your channel makes me happy. ❤
A beautiful, peaceful garden to enjoy every day. Thanks Jeri for allowing me to come along.
Beautiful garden. Love all your animals and hearing about each of them. Your friend Nancy what a talented person and a beautiful home. Lunch looks so good!!!
I never get tired or bored with your videos. I watch them over and over. Please do more! You are so informative and wonderful to watch.

The soup you made looked so yummy might have to give it a try. Thank you for sharing.
Jerri, please consider showing your face in your videos. The glimpse of you in the mirror is lovely. After all, it is a visual medium, and you are the star of your own videos. We hope to see your smiling face soon.
I am camera shy, one of those ppl that HATEs having my picture taken.
I love these videos. I just finished watching the news and am now decompressing with your beautiful garden and soup lunch. My blood pressure has returned to normal!
Must decompress after the "NEWS"!
Thank you so much for sharing, your garden, your recipe, and your friend Nancy's house. I admire your BEAUTIFUL garden. You inspire me. Thank you and GOD BLESS you.
Loved the peek at your friend's home. Can't wait for your next soup!
Jeri your garden is always so beautiful. Sorry to hear your friend has to sell her lovely home. Thank you for the recipe.
That spiderwort is stunning, Jeri! That peacock is stunning! Everything is just stunning! It is food for the Soul! Thank you for sharing and giving us some inspiration. Much Love to you and yours!
Beautiful garden and i love your channel it's so relaxing ❤
Hi~I really enjoy your lovely garden, pets, home and you. I've used Better than Boullion for a while now, and it has improved the flavor of my dishes considerably. I wouldn't cook without it. Thanks for the soup recipe.
Your garden is beautiful Jeri…that feathery display by Mr Peabody was magnificent. I also loved the blue hand stenciled pattern on your friends wall by the staircase. Must have been a labor of love.🙌🏻 Sending hugs.
She worked on that stencil for a month.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow What patience indeed.
I love when you cooking, your recepis and all these vintage kitchen tools you're using ❤
Loved the donkeys…and the peabodies are one of natures gifts..your content always brings joy..❤
So love the Celtic music and always enjoy your everything ❤
I’m here in an a-joining state, zone 7 with my cup of coffee enjoying your vid. But I must say, I’m getting pretty weary with days upon days of clouds and rain. That soup is a perfect way to deal with this weather. I’m going to make a bean soup (only because I don’t have the squash) and enjoy this evening. God bless your sweet friend. What a beautiful home.💗🌸
Bean soup is on the menu this month as well.
I love all of your native plants.... spiderwort, penstemon! My aunt and uncle had a dairy farm at the illinois / Wisconsin border. Two peacocks mysteriously appeared at their farm one day and decided to live there. They used to scare me at night when I was young. They'd sit up in the treetops and scream what sounded like 'help' repeatedly. Your property is stunning! I've worked for around twenty years at creating a beautiful garden in my yard. It's in different parts all over the yard at this point. I'm a cashier at a store & needed a place of peace and beauty to feel like a person again instead of a whipping boy. I would be devastated at the thought of losing my gatden. What if the next person just ignored it, or worse, plowed it up?! I can't imagine how Nancy must feel, leaving all of her hard work behind, please tell her that her home is lovely ❤
It's horrifying to think of someone destroying ones garden. A friend of mine sold his home with 50 some roses and a 75 yr old Bing Cherry tree. The new owners dug out all the roses and chopped down the tree to put in a swimming pool!
Thankyou for feeding my mind.xxx🇬🇧🇬🇧🐝🐝
Thank you so much for sharing your friend's house and I love the picnic y'all were having in the front yard. So looking forward to your house next Jerry thank you so much have a great day!
Your house and garden are beautiful. I love Ursula and Jemima, so adorable and your peacocks, handsome. I just love your animals. I'm looking forward to your next video. ❤
Your garden is just so beautiful ❤️ Thanks for having us..
Thank you,Jeri for a lovely video. Your garden is beautiful and so is your friend Nancy's house! I love to watch you cook!

Lovely video Jeri, just love when you cook or bake and have tea. Your flowers are are beautiful I can only imagine the beautiful scent in your garden. Your friends house is so pretty I’m sure it is so hard for her to leave but what a lovely luncheon table! Looking forward to the history of your home, (I love it) it has so much character and so cozy! 🌸🌿🌼🪴
Enjoyed your video so much! All of your things in bloom.....and that peacock putting on a show! That was just a perfect location for the outdoor lunch, and was so pretty!
I wish I could snap my fingers and my yard look like this. 😊
Hi Jeri! I love your videos. Your garden is beautiful. The lunch you made for your friend Nancy was special. I love your donkeys too. Thank you for making the world a more beautiful place!
Thank you so much!
I love everything about your garden! Your varied and colorful flowers, unusual flowerpots, and whimsical garden art are absolutely wonderful!
Thank you so much!
Two beautiful homes. Thank you so much for all that you share.
That dresser with the huge mirror I had in my bedroom for a min than it became a guest room. My mom had several pieces that go with the dresser! I don't want that day to come where I have to stop gardening. I went to an estate sale and a lady had to up and sell due to age. I asked if I could meet her lol. She did , and I complimented her on her gardening and her hand needle stich pillow cases. I don't know what it is with bed sheets that are needle stitch by hand and the material back than was just fresh, and it kept a cool temp to it. Bed sheets now suck so badly lol. It reminds me of my grandmother spare room. I stayed in after a hot summer day taking a bath and jumping into a clean tightly made bed, and the sheets were cool to the touch against my feet!❤
I love your enthusiasm!
Your peacock is so magnificent! 🦚 That soup looks delicious too and how kind of you to help out your friend Nancy. Her house is so beautiful!
Oh what a lovely home she has, I would love that home like my own. I wish I could have seen more of it. I can’t wait to see your home as well. I always enjoy seeing it. ~ Janet 😘
First time seeing your channel, Very beautiful. Love the music. 💚🍀🍀

Nancy house charming, I would love to come to sale from what I was seeing, the blue & white really caught my eyes, so did your copper pans ! Looking forward to next time. hugs from Indiana , Paula
Hey lady! I am looking at this cute, tiny set of clay dishes that my mice are very excited to put to use! Thank you my friend.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow You are so welcome ! One can not go to garden and antique shops without thinking of you, and that's a good thing. You truly inspire us!
So beautiful! Everything so wonderfully cared for. Thank you for the enjoyment ❤️
How I would love to sit in your garden and drink ice tea.
I am going to try making this soup it looks healthy and delish!
I’m sorry that your dear friend has to sell her home. Hard for you to have to participate in, I’m sure. Hoping she won’t have to move too far so that you can continue to see her. She sure is talented but aren’t you both!😊
Everytime I watch your videos I’m always taken back to the fascinating history that I couldn’t get enough of when I lived in Rutherford county, TN. Loved visiting battlefields & antique stores there. Something about TN just speaks to my soul.
Your friends house is magnificent! What city is it in? I would like to know more about it. Can’t wait to hear more about yours. (you’ve got the style & setting that I love.) Oh my gosh, that peacock!)❤
Her home is in Blaine. There were many Civil war skirmishes around our area, it's pretty interesting.
Lovely garden's and garden lunch...sorry you lost footage would love a tour thru her house...so sad she will be selling it. Wishing her well in her later year's. Every house is different and I dare say your home is so inviting and eye candy with all the different wonderful fun things you collect and outside spaces too. Looking forward to your next garden lunch. Yum.🙌
Beautiful as always. A joy for the eyes.
Truly appreciate and enjoyed your video, everything is alive and beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, yes, your friend has a wonderful home and yours is just as wonderful with it's own character. Thank you for sharing. 😊 Blessings 🙌
Thanks much!
Absolutely breathtaking ❤
Nothing can compare to a peacock tail amongst the flowers. I would add corn to recipe
You bless us all more than you will ever know, dear Jeri!!! Thank you and Nancy for just being yourselves!!
That's so nice to hear!
So very sweet - fun to help friends with big things. The soup looks yummy,I will try iy.
Oh my, was that you in the reflection of the mirror 😉
I enjoy your videos and especially your recipes. Because of you I have a new appreciation for old kitchen utensils. I’ve collected a few of my own.
Yes, that's me. I am glad you are using some old utensils, I love them.
I very much enjoyed seeing how your garden is coming along this Spring. I also enjoyed looking at your friend's old house, which is lovely. Her estate sale looks inviting. it is a very big step for her to part with so many of the things she loves, but it comes to all of us, I suppose. I want to tell you what arrived at my house today - some Vevor cloches, just like the ones you recommended. Now, as you know, I live in England, so I wasn't sure I could get any, but when I looked on Amazon, I saw that they were available in two sizes. I bought the largest size this time because quite a few of my plants are big already, but the cloches will be ideal for next year when I'm starting my plants off. My puppy, Freddy, who is only 19 weeks old this week, loves digging so I have a problem, keeping him off my plants this year. It is 7 pm here in England at the moment and I have just finished putting the cloches in their places. I love the way they fix into the ground. They seem to be very stable. I also like the way the chicken wire protects the sides and they seem to be very good quality. They were not cheap - 99 Great British Pounds, but I hope they will last a lifetime, which in my case is probably only going to be 20 years at the most, LOL. Thank you for the recommendation Jeri :)
Those cloches are pretty good and very attractive, so glad you got a few. Oh those pups! Mine are still going through the chewing and digging stages. I don't trust them in the garden for one minute!
OMGOSH!!! Your home is BEAUTIFUL too!!! I just love what you have done and OH MY MY your gardens are SPECTACULAR!!! I so would love to live near you to give me some more advice on my flowerbeds, but I just watch you and other RUclipsrs that I can…you too inspire me with what I can do and I so wish I could do more with my flowerbeds but I only have so much room…I live in the village where I am and don’t have much yard…but I do love sitting on my front porch or back yard to enjoy what I have…THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING US more of your place…IT’S ALL WONDERFUL!!! Looking forward to the next one ❤😊
Sometimes I think the small spaces are the best; little gardens can be so much more pampered and cherished. The large spaces can be overwhelming for just one gardener.
so excited to see a vlog from you. you are so talented at many things and I love to watch you cook as well as garden and produce art. thanks to you. PS-Nancy's house is lovely!
Beautiful garden so enchanting x
And the magic continues. Thank you Jeri.

Lovely garden and video. Yummy looking and healthy soup. I am sorry your friend has to give up her lovely home. It is nice of you to help. Blessings.
Breathtaking. I adore Celtic music. It makes me want to go to a place in the green hills that I have never been.
Same here!
Thank you Jeri. ❤
While Nancy's house is quite nice, I prefer the charms of your home. Big hugs to your sweet donkeys
So loved this video today! Everything about it! the music, the beauty of the flowers, your soup and picnic. If i did not live so far away(Oklahoma), I would be there for the sale. Such a life change for you friend. I hope all goes well for her and she finds someone to cherish her beautiful place.
❤
She will be missed... and I will also miss visiting her wonderful place; it's like my home away from home.
HI,your house and garden is absolutely gorgeous, I much prefer your home more
Love the copper pan you were drying...I found one just like it at Goodwill, but in terrible shape. My darling husband (who restores old cars) worked a miracle and handed it back to me (almost) like new! Oh, and did I mention the price? $1.99.
WOW, what a great deal! and a handy husband.
My daughter and I love it when you show your farm critters too !
In starting perennials from seed , either winter sowing , or under lights ;does it take until the next year for them to bloom ? Delphinium, Lupines , Evening Primrose , etc.. I’d love for you to talk about the lengthy growing process of seed sown perennials sometime .
It’s even relaxing to watch / hear you chopping vegetables for your soup !! 😊. You’re the best ❤
Will do!
Thanks so much for the recipe. It would really help us to see the recipe written in the More section. Trying it today. Thanks !
I made it again today, it is so good.
New subscriber here. I adore your videos. They are keeping me company at work 🌻I cannot wait to catch up on your backlist over the weekend.
