Great video Josh 👌
Thanks Gary! 👍🏼🙌🏼
Bin your looking at holds about 560kg of blend, bout 700kgs of nuts. Have used a 1200l ibc which aren’t common, just stand on a bale of hay to fill buckets until i can tip it over unto the bale of hay to get the last third out
It’ll be nuts we buy. Gotta be waterproof whatever we decide to get as it’ll be kept outside
Great teamwork. I love those docile cattle. Keep up the great farming!
Lovely aren’t they! 🐂
Well done team, great video
Thanks Toni! 🙌🏼
It's a good thing you and the manager are young people. Pushing those bails around is not easy work. Keep up the great work!
It’s good for the soul! 😂👍🏼
Good video Josh
Thanks Philip!
Nice shed
Pens are well put together
Thanks! Phil will be most pleased by that!
I Josh and Abbie all is looking good, it will be better when you concrete your new midden it will save you hours in the end, love to see man and wife getting stuck in. Take care all the best.
It’ll certainly save us some time! Thanks John! 👍🏼🙌🏼
Great video if you ever need extra pair of hands sure if any of us are down your way would always be a willing help for the day. 😂
Thanks! Many hands make light work!
When the new grant scheme comes out in the spring you might be able to get funding,l think sealed feed bins were on the list last year.
Ah very interesting, I might hold off and wait and see about that!
Good video ..keep it up
Thanks!
Great video nice to see Abbi back at my place helping out there josh 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Sandy! Abi loves to be involved!
Have you ever seen the Tipsy bin.
Yep, wanted to buy one but they are a pain to get into the country because I’m not vat registered!
Its never repetitive Josh, as for me being retired its as close as I get to farming now. Fantastic to see you and Abi working together, as it reminds me of my late wife who had a similar work ethic. (And she was 4'11" and I am 6'1"). Regarding letting the cows out to grazing, I would if the ground conditions are favorable, as we always found it cleared the ground better before first cut. Thanks
Glad you think so Fraser! Fond memories for you I’m sure! It’s nice to make the videos for us to one day look back on! I think we will once it drys up a bit!
Another good video josh but I think abi has ernt some waterproof bib and brase mate😂😂
Haha! She does have some overalls somewhere! 😂
Dirty weekend....Mrs Abbi not frightened to get stuck in . Nice one team
She’s a worker!
Look at tipsy bins they're irish made as well but they kinda tip when you have to empty them very good 👍
I have done, a pain to get into England. Brexit!
That's a balls isn't it pity they should be out over with you as well they are a super idea
Awesome bud cheers 👍🏻
Thanks!
Hi, we have an old IBC to store feed. Cut the top off and make a hinge and then a bungee cord to keep it closed. It doesn’t quite hold 750kg of ewe nuts, so that’s something to think about. I would like a tipsybin but I’m not paying £90 postage.
That’s a good idea, is it good enough to keep all water out? I’d love a tipsy bin too but getting one into England is a pain!
You should look at the tipsy bins instead of the jfc ones I think the tipsy bin is a better option
I’ve spoken to the guy that makes them, getting them into the country is a ballache for me as I’m not VAT registered and you need a vat number to get through customs.
Yourself and abbi definitely get a good workout at back my place
We do indeed! Can cancel her gym membership!
have a look for a tipsy bin
Can’t get it in the country very easy, I’ve been talking to them
You two do love a " dirty weekend"😊😅😊
Where is the Gus Dug ???
Gus was in the truck! He winds up the new cows with calves so safer to keep him away!
@BackMyPlace yes cows n calves plus dog not a safe combination.
The videos are great, repeat
Thanks Steve! 👍🏼
Awesome video Josh i feel sorry for Abie forking all that 💩You're to use to big machinery to do all the hard work at you're job so some manual labour will give you a good workout and save going to the gym 😂
If you're getting all the rain were getting here Josh turning out the cattle they could do a lot of damage to the ground unless you have well drained and dry land my friend tried it last year it was a disaster he ended up being a month later cutting silage
One other thing you're videos not monotonous for me to watch its two wonderful people working together and making a go of it starting into their amazing farming journey and bringing us along
Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one
We wouldn’t look at turning out until the end of April at least I don’t think! Possibly May! Glad you are enjoying the videos! Hopefully we will have a nice new midden to scrape into at some point to avoid all the forking!
Safety first ,calf kicking at your good lady / loader to low with bale spike .Storage container needs to be able to bye large dumpy bag of feed ( midland feed)
Nice vide it's great to see keen youngsters coming into our industry.
Everyones an expert, an ex is a "has been" and a spurt is a "drip under pressure"
Watch vid again and you will see .one accident will spoil it for him heven bid
@@richardparsons8320 Ok, I watched it again and it seems you are correct. Plus: those wellies didn't look like the type that had any toe protection. They weren't wearing hard hats, hi-vis jackets or protective gloves. And, even though Josh used a knife to cut the bale strings neither he or Abbi looked like they were wearing stab proof vests. Shocking!😮
We must look after our young stockperson, as he is looking after Phil
Thanks Richard! Can’t be to careful on the farm!
You shovel it politicians talk a load of it
Haha brilliant!
Give it 72hrs - see if JFCAgri get in touch…
😀
I like your thinking!
That is how you know you picked the right woman!
She’s a keeper!
Are your wrapped bales straw for bedding and what are you feeding them generally?
I just wasn’t sure if you could wrap straw as it would potentially spoil.
The wrapped bales are basically hay that Phil’s neighbour made and wrapped so it could be kept for bedding. I’ve got the calf’s on good quality silage at the moment
Ahh okay that makes sense now! Thanks. Love the content as well it’s great education!
Are those bins rodent proof? I have a small fish farm and the rats get into everything. Painful
I think out in the yard they wouldn’t attract rodents, perhaps in a shed. But I know vermin get anywhere don’t they!

Yaaaaaas
