The best way to describe your videos is like a table full of delicious but still healthy food. I click expecting fast food, a burger of sketches with a couple tips, and instead get a full meal with smart advice and excellent examples backed up by experience, all around very valuable. Yes I'm very hungry, sorry.
It's crazy drawing along to your tutorials then looking around the real world and seeing how amazingly you subtly stylize your simplifications. You're like a make the world look cool filter haha. I don't go to Patreon often but I've watched hundreds of tutorials and yours are especially good. Thanks Sinix
Super concise and informative. I'm a k-12 art teacher so this really helps me to clarify some of these ideas in a clear, concise way to my students! 🌿🌿
Something you didn't cover that is important to be aware of is the angle of which the bottom of the nose is tipped (roughly at a 15-25 degree angle). For practical purposes lets say the nose in profile/side view is shaped like a right triangle. the L shape of the right triangle is slightly tipped on its axis. Causing the bottom of the nose to be seen in the anterior/front view when the head is looking straight forward towards the viewer. I wanted to point this out because in my own studies I've seen a lot of artist's downplay this in order to simplify or to escape the complexity of the nose. It's also important to remember that the nose is convex and protrudes out from the face. Wire-frame/contour drawings will help greatly for anyone having trouble with this form. Please vote to raise awareness.
Thank you so much Sinix! I watched this video again for the first time in a while and in one sitting just following along, I finally am able to draw faces that seem right for me! I realize now that the nose is probably the most important part in drawing faces. You're the best!
I really appreciate the video! I've been needing one of these and they're extremely useful! I just wanted to point out in the 'common mistakes' section, my nostrils are actually lower like it is shown on the top left. It may not be standard, but it's not wrong! Thank you again for the video, though! Can't wait for your next one!
your videos really help! Im 12 years old and i wanted to say you are an insperation! i almost gave up on drawing until i saw your vids thank you so much and please keep drawing.
I clicked on this video a few days ago when I was finally determined and inspired enough to actually learn how to draw and I can't express my gratitude enough. I'm really really thankful for your videos and this series. I don't know if it's just quarantine that's made my head clear up but I've tried learning anatomy before and it never really worked out. I followed through with your video and the information about the structure really helps. You can actually see the difference between how I used to draw a few days ago and now. Like a very big difference. I guess I already knew how to draw (I also used to draw anime, they look pretty awful though lol, but I know how to handle a pencil, the amount of pressure to put and such) just didn't know how the face was supposed to look. The skull thing also helped alot. My faces look drastically better and drawing them is easier. In your hands vid when you just kinda drew the hands like so without any guidelines it got me thinking "why don't I just do that too" and like shabam it's the best hand I've ever drawn my entire life. It feels like you unravelled this knot in my head lol. You've really taught me to know and learn the structure of things and how they're supposed to look, rather than copying from references. Thank you so so so much, I'm really grateful. I've never had this much fun drawing before, Its the first time I felt this want to learn and improve. Just thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart T^T
I really love your anatomy videos, and even though I usually draw in a fairly stylized way, you always manage to make notes about how the features work that give me something to ponder and improve on. Thank you so much for this series!
Thank you sinus... who nose, maybe it snot obvious from the comments but your puns are on the nose. I thought the diagonal ridge I observe on the side of the nose was some sort of muscle indication like the muscles we use to make an expression of disgust. Now I'm poking around my nose, and feel that it might actually be the bridge. I'll have to pay more attention, luckily I have two life drawing sessions today where I can do so.
We watched so many parts and learned a lot so a video about how to put them together would be awesome (like combining nose mouth ears nose eyes to a full face one.)
Your anatomy vids are the best! It's still currently our sem break and I somehow got an idea to transform myself through drawing, all this vids had a huge impact on me!!
Thank you Sinix, every time I visit your channel I learn something and get better at art. Even when you haven't posted a new video I watch an old one and I always catch things I missed or have forgotten.
Got a new subscriber! It's really tough for me to learn stuff on YT (even though it's free!) cuz of my attention problems. This video helped me understand noses better!
Thank you, it IS my favorite video about noses so far. I don't have much problem with them, but now I have more solutions than before, for when things go wrong while making a face.
I cant believe it took me this long to subscribe, I love your videos and have seen a major improvement in my abilities and have seen a change in how I think about my drawings, thank you for that.
@ 6:16 the incorrect profile nose is only unusual when portraying narrower noses. However, flatter or broader noses can have the exact shape in the "wrong" section and is especially common on Filipinos. This is caused by the septum being flat, resting higher, and looking nearly flush with the nostrils when viewed from the side. Just make sure the outer edge of nostrils don't curve too far behind the bulb as shown in the bottom view of the incorrect nose and let the plane which the philtrum sits on to divide the nostrils when the septum seems to end before the nostril wings.
I didn't suppose your voice to be that amazing! I'm used to watch your videos translated but now i'm hearing it and just going relax. btw you're absolutely incredible artist! Can't say that your style is"suitable" for me however Ilike it so much! looking forward for newvideos)
I had to watch this on 0.25 seconds playback speed and paused a lot. Great video amazing tutorial, thank you Sinix. I sure hope that you expand this and have multiple lectures on Udemy or something.
i been watching a few of your vids, though i just started drawing ( literally yesterday) i try to draw what you show a nd it looks so good, but i also keep re watching so i can UNDERSTAND. i just feel so lost since i dont know where to start, i need to go to the start of your channel and binge watch i think XD i think you might be my first patreon person i support, i really love your vids

It would be great if you did one of these but for drawing an entire figure
you are the BEST, the commentary is hilarious and your slightly slow talking is weirdly soothing. I've learned so much!
Can you do one on eyebrows or tongues? Both seem to lack a good guide that isn't stiff in technique or style

I had to watch this on 0.25 seconds playback speed and paused a lot. Great video amazing tutorial, thank you Sinix. I sure hope that you expand this and have multiple lectures on Udemy or something.
Huh. That point about the areas on the sides of the nose is a good lesson. I've always thought of the nose as more of a narrow line
