Groups have been doing that for years. One that stands out in my mind is Blue Knights 2004. they had a drum set and auxiliary players in the back while the mallets were in the front.
5:40 High school my a** dude. Whoever's on the kit at least! Because he's violently good on the set. The stress level at that part and 0:20 are Horrendous. I can feel the pain at those parts.
if only my school had enough funding. My school won 2017-2018 Novice Winter Percussion or something. We could get into higher divisions but we're broke
honestly pretty tired of people making it sound like chino only wins because of money . i promise if everyone was restricted or given the same budget and member numbers chino would still win just as often. give the kids credit.
@@reesefleming1829 not really? its almost 70% funding good tech = good players and plus this kids get fed education like crazy if you have bad staff or you're just learning on your own it takes a very very very long time to get where these kids are or even a middle school group lmao.
@@IWantToBeInOVO that’s my point. Funding doesn’t fix the problem. It’s good staff. The chino staff isn’t gonna leave if they’re making the same money at chino as they would somewhere else...
@@reesefleming1829 yes because they have been there for a while. you most schools dont have the type of funding to pay for instructors to come in and tech even at a decent highschool level. not to mention drums , equipment , etc
@@IWantToBeInOVO I understand that, I went to a Lowe budget school, we managed to be successful with what we had. Performing world class and upper open.
You ever just think to yourself, “How come I wasn’t in Chino Hills Highschool?” Well dw you’re not alone.
We’re pretty cool lol
@ every highschooler in drumline who lives in SoCal
i would love to like this comment, but its at 69 likes so therefore i cannot
Shiny cymbals... that’s it. No because they win a lot, but because of the shiny cymbals
crazily enough before my parents moved from california to tennessee i was zoned for that school district. not sure which one i would be at
6:36 great ensemble moment i love this show so much
that dude on the kit is a god
yeah straight out of hs he made set for pulse percussion
4:34 the guy right behind the timpani corrects his lantern. It's such a tiny mistake but once you see it, you can't unsee it
Andrew Chao seriously
bruh who cares
To be honest even with looking at it again it is so smooth like it is whatever lol
Been waiting for this lit boi
WOW! Can't believe those are high school kids!
Want song is that at 3:52? It reminds me of something in Finding Nemo, but I can't be sure.
Surprise Yourself, Jack Garratt
This is beautiful!! such a talented and passionate group of kids 🙏💜🙌
6:16 what is that behind/ underneath the far right sheet? looks like fire
cymbal lifting up
2:13 The flub line got more chops than most drumlins
Bass line lmao
that’s the bass line dude 😭
@@jose_.5331 talking abt the part right after the bass feature when the flub line is playing the same part as the snare line
Easily my favorite HS show
Needless to say, great show. One question: how is there not phasing between the pit and the Drum set in the opening moments of the show?
Listening back, and lots of rehearsal time. Groups of all levels have been pulling off some increasingly impressive listening situations lately

Is there any drum cams of this performance?

He graduated from chino hills Hs, now he’s the kit for pulse. Saw his last performance before the SCPA/WGI got canceled.
There is a fire that goes on a little right of the drumset behind the curtains at 6:17
That was a cymbal reflection. Idk if you were serious but if you were. that's a cymbal
its probably one of the lanters lol
@@TheUpAndComingNobody yeah it was the outside of a cymbal left behind the curtain
