this is them at their raw form
YES!!!!

I've been frantic trying to find somewhere to listen to the new album ever since it came out because I can't go out and buy it as of now and this is amazing!
CollinsWOLF Order Vinyl (not leave house) = Profit
Brett Jolly I Hate you. You seem so hateful.
Brett Jolly Look at the venue. It's not very audience friendly, and calling a few people standing in doorways a "crowd" is a bit of a misnomer.

Nadya, people like you make the youtube comments not a cesspool. Thank you so much!
What was the song that they threw on the record player at the very end?
Malcolm Moutenot Tone's Rap
Nadya S Thank you so much!
terima kasih nadia 💕
This is my favourite type of music so truly. That keys player fucking changed my life, his style of playing in the BBNG album inspired me to pick up the piano myself.
The trio as a whole also introduced me to jazz, which I am now incredibly passionate about.
I hope that this reinvention of the jazz trio will become huge (Hope someone incorporates mpcs), I would love to spend my days as the pianist for an underground hip hop jazz trio like this.
Pure respect for all involved with this project.
👌☺W
where do you live bro?
You should do what Brock Hampton did just ask people who are interested in the same style of music as you and form a group. It’s hard to find people passionate about music let alone awesome styles like this. Realizing your comment is two years old I hope you did just this haha. Cheers!
have you missed the 50's and sixties, or are you a Millenial youth who somehow feels this is unique :)
@@alimantado373 Hi! Also new to BBNG. How is this not unique? In other words: do you have recommandations?
shouts out to the guy on bass he's such a g
19:55 jedi mind tricks. I love how they shake their heads in unison. Thats some serious telepathy right there.
Applause to the presenter for slaughtering the vibe at the start
show some respect for gilles peterson you filthy peasant
Wil Helm. Was he the one man handling that go pro!? If so, I have total respect for Gilles as a radio host. Not as a camera man
you're not making it better...
ha! same thought there
Exactly what I thought. Like who is this guy and why is he talking?
literally, the most beautiful thing i've heard ever. these are genius musical prodigies and they need more recognition.
Saw Whiplash few days back. Jaw dropped.
Saw this drumming just now, can't find my fucking head anymore.
***** I agree, Whiplash better get best picture at Oscars or ill be pissed
1) Triangle
2) Can't Leave The Night
3) Putty Boy Strut
4) Hedron
5) Kaleidoscope
6) Differently, Still
7) CS60
These guys are legendary, but i think they would be godlike with a Sax player in the band.
the bass player plays sax
+Moe William They just brought their frequent Sax collaborator, Leland Witty, on board. He's in the band now!
+Moe William they gotta link up with Terrace Martin
leland whitty is their sax player, he did a few collabs with them but they just added him full time this year
Moe William that's what I was thinking bro. I was like imagine a sax or some horns on this shit. still amazing with the sounds they make being a trio
15:20 - 16:00 is some of the best bass I've ever heard
+Christopher Elwell Oh man 33:40 - 34:40 is so sweeeet
Coming back to this after not seeing it for a couple years. And I love it even more now. This is what being in the zone looks like, they are killin it all around and the people that are there are so lucky.
How and why the fuck are none of these kids not bobbing their heads or dancing??? My black ass would be grooving out so much if i was there.
will archer but you weren't there.
+Matthew Powell If he was there
Audience looks like they're having the most boring time of their lives, standing still, looking down to their phone screens, wondering where they've gotten into, leaving by the middle of the show, never to return. There's a chick sitting on the stairs at the entrance who never even bothered to pop in and take a peek. It's like they never heard of BBNG ever in their lives and showed up to the show cuz they didn't have much else to do.
i think they're trying to respect the artists and its recorded so i assume they want minimal fuckery in the "studio"?? . . .btw, these guys jedi lords in their respective disciplines
its everyday London
Oh man, I got mad chills throughout. I'm very thankful there's a live performance of some of III, because hot damn, it is a killer album. Keep it up, BBNG, from Southern CA
My God how I would have loved to be in that basement when this went down. Some lucky sons of mothers there.
That flying lotus cover was simply amazing these guys are great !
These guys are amazing... Only found out about them now, but wow, such talents!! Very inspiring! On repeat.......
amazing! when i was at roskilde friday, i remember walking past the apollo scene, and i heard this band playing. had no idea what it was, but i was instantly amazed, and saw the rest of the show. also one of my fauvorites concerts at ros this year!
Kaleidoscope so much reminds me of Soft Machine. The droning piano, the squiggling bass, drum cascades. Lovit!
I love the putty boy strut flying lotus bass articulation. this is why I love this band.
This is one of my Top 5 daydream bass performances. Chester fucking shreds on this performance.
THIS MUST BE ONE OF THE GREATEST NEW TALENTS IN THE DRUMS I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME!
Improvised piano solo? Let's focus the camera on only the drummer.
Ikr what the fuck
XD
Drummer was goin in tho
Matty deserves the spotlight
it’s a drum solo. The piano is comping
The Fly Lo cover!!!!!! Man I love these guys!
I'm totally inspired by this bass player's sound, feel, notes, all of it.
The pianist really gets into it
That bass tone is just lovely. The drum beats is so delicious. Keys just so awesome. I think I can drunk peacefully now.
We live in such an amazing time for music. New years revolution.... see more live music.
You are dei tostoni.
This goes straight to my favourites.
Love from Italy
DOOM did Boiler Room?! Whoa... we were literally saying today that BBNG and DOOM should do an album together.
BADBADNOTDOOM.
Done.
wow. that sounds awesome.
They've already collaborated once on JJ DOOM.
Plus there's going to be a track that DOOM's on on the new Ghostface & BADBADNOTGOOOD album.
But yeah a full-length would be insane.
+ they did an AMAZING 9min medley of doom beats, it's on yt, simply called 'DOOM'
all this time i thought you were talking about the band doom and i thought 'wow that would be a very dark combo' but now i understand who you're talkingabout
RIP MFDOOM
Ojalá algún día vengan a la CDMX.¡Que grandiosa banda! 💜
x2
These fellas are just SMASHING this!! They'd end up kicking me out because I would be all hyped!
elevated, interesting, and pleasant. this guys have had it since long ago
Absolutely on fire, great trio! Love these cats, they are electric & fresh as, salute!!
wow dude was totally right, nothing makes me happier than to see these guys prosper super inspiring
I wish the key player relied less on arpeggios and repetition, and I wish the drums were tuned a bit better, but these young guns are really fantastic. They're an adventurous group of musicians and they are introducing jazz to a new audience. Their new record with Ghost is amazing as well. It sounds like David Axelrod produced Ghostface.
It's the room and the fact that it's a daytime promo gig, no real setup. Check out their Moran Plant videos, those are a more prepared performance in a better acoustic space. Can't help you with the arpeggios tho, he's kind of minimalist, I like it! ;)
Frank Brenner I'd guess the repetition is probably due to the hip hop influence, which can definitely be heard in the drumming. Just a guess though, as I haven't heard much of their stuff.
ThatUncutRaw all 3 of them are influenced by most of hip hop, and many of their works and collabortation are with hip hop artist
ThatUncutRaw all 3 of them are influenced by most of hip hop, and many of their works and collabortation are with hip hop artist
Frank Brenner Yeah the ghostface collabo is my favourite from them so far, they really work well together
They stop talking at 6:45
So refreshing. Keep it up. Love all the influences.
Imagine these lot collaborating with artist like Robert Glasper, Erykah Badu, Vulfpeck, The Internet and Snarky Puppy. That would be beyond crazy!!!!!
Are you fucking kidding me. Im a huge Jazz fan and watching these guys play and hearing them is like... its like witnessing a resurrection... of a dead person! this is bliss. Thank you!
Fantastic set!!! Thank you for posting, Boiler Room.
ohmy, unbelievably good to hear this.
These dudes are sick! Going to check them here in DC Sunday!
Stumbling upon this made today a good day. I immediately searched BBNG tour
"big shout-out" for BBNG and boiler room for puting this together!

What a great drummer
glad they did Kaleidoscope, one of my favorite BBNG songs.

Dude with the bass killed it!!
Loved the rendition of cs60, they smashed it!
Guys amazing gig, so much impressive, so I bought yours vinyl album III
Cant enough of these dope ass guys !!!!
underrated as All-Butter Scottish Shortbread Biscuits
Very true
They must be one of the greatest bands of our time... Any of the greats would agree. they'd be proud of this. It's just insanely great music. Losing my mind here hahaha
dude, the Putty Boy Strut cover... so cool to hear BadBadNotGood cover one of my favorite tunes by Flying Lotus! Sounds rad on live instruments
the last song just blew me away
These guys should tour with Nerve. They'd be a great fit because they both do similar things with emulating electronic music and such. BBNG is just a bit more hip-hop and less techno.
the two most played things in my car right now!
The drummer is amazing.
15:00 Having a jolly good time in the zone doing what they love
Holy hell, that Ghostface instrumental was insane. Can't wait for it to come out
these guys have it under control
Never thought I'd see a UNC shirt in London, oh and great performance by BBNG as always
Fuck yeah Chester

Major respect for the FlyLo cover 🙌🏼
That was so SICK!!!
Flying Lotus cover was spot on!
Reminds me of the Robert glasper experiment.
Wow.
Such audience.
Many atmosphere.

Wow.
Think you missed the point of this
omg i love them so much
I ended up here, and I am so glad I did!
to know this really five years ago and knowing how fast time truly goes
Six for me at the moment. Always loved III, but catching up on all they've done since then. They are severely talented and their work is sorely needed in the world.
Simply amazing.
did it fuck with anybody else when they finally started using the prophet hardware at like 13:20 but the camera man REFUSED to film it? probably just me
+Paul Vega I Saw that. Thing sounds amazing! what is it exactly do you know ?
Fucking amazing. Such a great band.
The bass playing on CS60 though... whewwwwwww

No words for this.
Damn, I think world can appreciate enough what genius Matty is
Still gold
so dope!!! love to see real musicians, giving hop hop to run with blank canvases.. I can wreck 5 different songs, over this one beat. they are real.. hope to see them grow, even beyond their current status. solid drummer, solid keys.... and that bass player is fucking on point!!!!!!!!!!
This is a classic, bro.
