One point to note, in Europe, we now have the option of actually choosing one of the standard models without having to lose out on performance with the snapdragon chipset. Last year we got an exynos chip in the base models, so it was basically the s24 ultra or nothing.. now we can actually choose more form over power as the power is now the same across the 3 models. This year, the s25 plus is probably the best value.
Excuse me, but I feel that you influencers are missing a key point: the performance of the new Samsung phone with the new processor. Especially in DeX mode, which with an Elite CPU is on par with an m3 or even better, you have a very powerful PC. Why doesn't any of you talk about how incredible the performance of this smartphone is as a "PC"?
I personally get so tired of people crying about phone design. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Also when do you actually look at the back of the phone? Never. You only see the front of the phone when you use it. Who cares what the camera layout looks like. You're never looking at the back of the phone!
Sorry but I'm thrilled to be sending my S24U in for an S25U. Samsung trade promos mean you only pay a few hundred to have the latest and greatest year to year.
Thats good! Thats kinda the point though - its not the norm to upgrade every year, YoY updates are always miniscule. Hope you're having lots of fun with your 24U!
I have the Note 20, which I actually got as a replacement because the battery on my previous phone (Note 10, I think) would no longer hold a charge. I was looking forward to the 25, but might try to stick it out till next year's model.
I tire of him saying the phone is the same phone every year. So what? All three models now have the same base ram, new processor, and ai across all models. I find the many of the ai features great. Apple does the same thing, and he doesn't say anything. And don't get me going on Siri and the terrible rollout of their Apple Intelligence. Sounds like a bunch of Apple fan boys.
I completely disagree with you concerning Apple. Tech media has been destroying Apple for keeping the same design since iPhone 12! If anything, they were brushing this under the rug for Samsung and once it happened this year, they finally started getting it as well!
When Apple barely changes anything, MKBHD says it is the way it's supposed to be, like a Porche 911, blah blah blah When Samsung barely changes anything, MKBHD says "HOW DARE YOU"

i think one of the reasons why they cut corners on charging speed/water resistance/same display etc etc was to keep the price of the phone same price in korea. Yeah but nowadays phones have become so good that any change could possibly ruin the boring stability that people (at least in the US) expect of their phones
Most of my S Pen uses recently have been to lean the phone on some object and take a group photo using the S Pen rather than taking a group selfie (assuming there’s nobody else to take the picture). Which was cool, I will miss that whenever I upgrade eventually.
I just received my S25 ultra. I had the S24 ultra until it gave out due to defect. The S25 ultra feels like if you got a pixel and iPhone, put those together and put in "some galaxy features". Using it all day doesn't really feel like I have a Samsung phone. The chip does make a difference for gaming. Cameras are very similar to s24 ultra. I would definitely recommend not upgrading if you don't have to. Maybe the S26 ultra will make more of an upgrade
I broke away from the S line to give the Pixel 8 Pro a chance. long story short, It has been a frustrating experience for me. Although the upgrades from the S24 Ultra to the S25 Ultra may be minimal, for me, it will be a night-and-day difference for the better. I can't wait for mine to arrive.
Design changed more from 24 to 25 than 23 to 25, it's thiner, more symetrical, less sharp it's not the biggest change but I feel like you're making it seem like less than it is
0:01 Samsung playing it safe would have been marginal spec upgrades with no missing features. The same display, same RAM, same storage options minus the the sharp corners and Bluetooth Spen that many feel defined the Ultra series is NOT playing it safe. It's called being out of touch with your customers.
People, myself included, were very unhappy about Samsung going from a 10x optical to a 5x optical lens. Should have just updated the 10x optical to a 50MP sensor.
I think because of it being the first real year of smartphone AI and the anti glare display that the S24 Ultra didn't catch as much flak. This year though, most of the new AI features will come to S24 anyways and there wasn't anything game changing like that anti glare display was for the S24 Ultra
I think the reason why a lot of people talk about the design is not differentiating the flagship from the midrange and budget Samsung devices, makes you feel it's all the same phones especially for those that are not Samsung users. I believe there should be a slight difference between the budget and the flagship device in terms of the design wise and look, honestly i can barely differentiate unless operating the phones. The S20 ultra down ti the S23 ultra would send a message by looking at tye phones even before having it in your hands and that's what a lot of us look for talking about design.

Hey, would it be a good idea to have a comparison between each flagship and the same flagship from 3 years ago? It would help show a lot of the incremental advancements. Every time you do a review, like this S25, pull out the S22 and compare.
Well with samsungs, many people upgrade every 2 years with their carrier plan so, still an upgrade for them. Most people aren't buying a new phone every year, and those that can afford to, do it for the image and not for the specs. So the s25 have 4gb more ram, a better processor, i consider those the only upgrade necessary
@katinasoutherland7693 no, in the majority of countries, 12gb of ram was the maximum last year as well, and I'm talking about the jump up in ram on the base and plus models specifically which was needed
Apple has been doing this for years... why is okay for them to do it and not get hate but when samsung who is years ahead of apple does it they get hate. This device may not be for people who has a S24 series but for someone like me who is 4 to 5 gens behind this is going to be amazing!
Since when has apple not been getting hate on this. Apple has not stopped getting hate on having phones look the same for years. Where have you been? Just funny now that Samsung is doing and it’s getting hate, now it’s “why hasn’t apple gotten hate for this”. LOL. Wake up.
Seriously. MKBHD released that cringy video where he's saying iphones are like Porche 911's and not much changes because that's a good thing and iterative changes are best blah blah blah, now Samsung does it too and suddenly it's not a good idea? MKBHD on Apple's payroll confirmed.
@tespinal8 MKBHD does not give apple any hate at all and let's be real people have gotten so used to it that people stopped giving them hate cause "hey it's apple".
Depeche Mode. Every new album is like the last album. However, jump back 2 albums they diverge, and go back several albums they are totally different. That's Samsung now, like a really good performance, but nothing new.
I keep hearing everyone talking about 'the new assistant' (gemini) on the s25 and i got an auto update to gemini on my s20 like 2 months ago ... its not worthy of discussion in the context of the s25 when even 5 yr old galaxy phones already have it.
Highly agree with no need for change just for change when it comes to Samsung. They have a big lineup of phones. If you want something completely different from their S models, they have their folding models. Why change a phone that is selling well and people like. Leave it and just upgrade the experience.
I wanted to get the OP 13 but I could now let pass the trading offer for my s23 ultra. I wish that the s25u got the 16gb ram and a 6k mha and would be the perfect phone for me. At this point with AI they can probably start making a model without the spen maybe that is the edge .
Also, I'd like to add Samsung. Need to stop playing it safe and come out with some vibrant color devices, such as red, yellow, orange, green, hot pink, and yellow, and they should have included the blue from the S25+ and base S25 to the Ultra and add a black in there for those people who like dull look, I think that would have appealed more to buyers. Also, they didn't do much to the camera software. I think it's lagging behind the competition, as I've watched a couple of reviews on camera comparisons between the s25, Pixel, iPhone, and Vivo. It is embarrassing to say, but Samsung hasn't improved the camera software, obviously. It is way too soft in certain scenarios, oversaturated, or just washed out in some scenes, and the Pixel seemed to get it right. Even though the Pixel is failing in the video department, the camera quality from the Pixel is just 🤌 chef's kiss. Samsung, you need to work on the cameras because, obviously, a lot of people care about camera quality and picture quality, if they dont know how to work with google because they got it right. It's not always about a 200x zoom lens or a 100x zoom lens; most people don't care about that on a day-to-day basis. Those pictures are unusable for social media or to show someone, etc. Yeah, it's a flex, but who really uses it?
Apple still does that now..they just don't call it S model anymore ..the ultra changed alot in appearance the only thing they didn't do is give u 16gigs of ram battery is fine even ok with s pen..never used Bluetooth feature ..u are totally wrong ..apple been same for 6 years plus..
Great content. There's a big difference 😮no Bluetooth in the s pen 😢. There are no magnets on the phone😢. No 16gb of ram😢. Question. Their displays are 2k. Why not a 3k display.🤔
This guy has become way too predictable. Don’t get me wrong-Marques knows way more about phones than I ever will, and I’ve got no shame admitting that. But 20 seconds into the video, I could already tell he was going to say “meh.” Honestly? I think the S25 looks pretty damn good. Apple fanboy here
I'm frankly dissatisfied with the current approach. We require more granular, detailed analysis of reviews, moving beyond superficial observations of incremental updates, minor design alterations (e.g., color schemes), along with slightly good thumbnails/opening sequences. Is this all that's been offered in the past two years of MKBHD reviews? Does this indicate a lack of specialization and excessive generalization? Is the content becoming overly mainstream? Just me? Okay
I agree with that the innovation is gone and they're playing it safe but my only thing is why he never talks about new iPhone that way! Like with the same language and same opening! Samsung and Google and every other phone company are following Apple's footsteps when it comes to how make money. Is it because apple is so big to be criticized the same way or is it because it's a US based company!?
It's different from my Galaxy S21 Plus which I'm about to trade in for the Galaxy S25 Plus. Apple phones have looked the same for years until they changed their phones to full screen display and Samsung phones are better than Apple iPhones anyway
This over iPhone any day. iPhone user= basic user, Samsung user= admin. Apple eco system is so over complicated, to transfer file or photos to external SSD is way to many steps conpared doing that on s Samsung device. Apple doesn't even have a pen 😂
The only hardware differences are the flatter sides and a new 50 megapixel ultra wide. The 3x is still 10 megapixels. The galaxy S25 EDGE seems interesting, the S25 edge next to 24 ultra and S25 ultra makes the ultras look very thick. I'm expecting to see many galaxy S25 EDGE vs iPhone 17 air videos.
In addition to what you counted: Its also thinner, and lighter whilst having a bigger screen. 16G of new ram as standard with every version, literally the fastest chip in the world and has significantly longer battery life. Its not a revolution - at all. But i dont get these halfbaked arguments as if its in any way more the same phone than any year on year phone release of all manufacturers these past years.
And ...so what the hell they recived the devices first...😢😢 in US.. That's ao unfair... they get 900 for an old s24u.and here we get 750.. It's crazy.. here a new one s25u 1500.. 🤦🤦🤦
I believe it will propably improve now with Siri 2.0 and Apple intelligence , it’s not as good because of data protection, they couldn’t train it well before
@@fyoutube2294 compared to android it’s ancient, and very noticeable when driving, you have to pull your phone out for anything because Siri won’t do anything, it’s absolutely terrible compared to an android. It has been getting better lately thought.
It’s not that Samsung plays it safe but all they’ve been doing is just anticipating what Apple will do then releasing a slightly better speced software feature or hardware feature or physical design etc and say they did it first
Samsung probably wont play it safe for their next flagship. They will most likely go with an oval look, will keep the flat display and square off the cameras on the back. The front will have a slightly bigger bezel and there will be no s-pen. This is my prediction.
I don’t believe the S25 is doing too well, it’s already very heavily discounted on Amazon UK. The S25 lineup has discounts from £150 ($185) to £300 ($370). I think that says a lot.

Obviously if you have the 23 or 24, don't upgrade. Phones now aren't meant to be yearly upgrades unless you switch manufacturers.
New hardware improvements in S25 Ultra:
1) Higher grade 5 titanium frame
2) 50 MP Ultra wide camera
3) SD 8 Elite chip for Galaxy
4) 40% larger vapor chamber
5) Qi2 wireless charging
6) 15 grams lighter body weight
7) 6.9 inch screen
8) Gorilla Armour 2
9) Improved anti reflective coating
10) Bluetooth 5.4
2 and 3 are the real upgrades, everything else will be barely noticeable/matter. Moot point.

Ever notice that since the time we were able to get porn on phones they started getting bigger?
Acctualy, S25 is S22s not S24s
Where is the review?!
The only upgrade for the S25 and the S25 Plus are the chip and the RAM.
I'm perfectly happy with my s23 ultra. I don't care about design , or ai. I want video that's far better than iPhone and a better battery. That's it
Every time Marques says "Jif" instead of Gif leave "Peanut Butter" or 🥜🧈 in the comments. 🤣
For me i feel that the design it's great... that's one of the reason for changing...
If op13 it's not so ugly module i will go for it...
You can enable the hey Google and open Gemini
I got an s24 plus recently. I waited after the s25 presentation to consider my options. But Samsung helped me to spend less money 😅
Yes, but my man, this isn't the "S24 S" it's the "S22 S S S"
Samsung has released the same phone 4 years in a row.
Biased as fuck
What about apple and the 60 screens
Galaxy intelligence!
I wanted to get the OP 13 but I could now let pass the trading offer for my s23 ultra. I wish that the s25u got the 16gb ram and a 6k mha and would be the perfect phone for me. At this point with AI they can probably start making a model without the spen maybe that is the edge .
When Samsung does it everyone blames while apple giving 60hz for base iphone for god knows when
Also, I'd like to add Samsung.
Samsung is half baked
But 20 seconds into the video, I could already tell he was going to say “meh.”
Honestly? I think the S25 looks pretty damn good. Apple fanboy here
S24 series and S25 series DO NOT look the same. I hate that he keeps saying that.
👋
I'm frankly dissatisfied with the current approach. We require more granular, detailed analysis of reviews, moving beyond superficial observations of incremental updates, minor design alterations (e.g., color schemes), along with slightly good thumbnails/opening sequences. Is this all that's been offered in the past two years of MKBHD reviews? Does this indicate a lack of specialization and excessive generalization? Is the content becoming overly mainstream? Just me? Okay
You look unhappy bro. Please send me the phone you don't need.
Android is taking iphone shoes
Ill keep my S24 U , Best Sphone,, S24U > S25U
It's different from my Galaxy S21 Plus which I'm about to trade in for the Galaxy S25 Plus. Apple phones have looked the same for years until they changed their phones to full screen display and Samsung phones are better than Apple iPhones anyway
Did he say GIF or JIF? 🤔
😂 I heard this too.
🤦🤦🤦
Siri sucks so bad
She has her uses but for having been a feature since like the 4s with minimal improvements is bananas
I believe it will propably improve now with Siri 2.0 and Apple intelligence , it’s not as good because of data protection, they couldn’t train it well before
@ it’s already getting better. Apple CarPlay was horrible. It’s definitely improving but nothing compared to google assistant.
@@fyoutube2294 compared to android it’s ancient, and very noticeable when driving, you have to pull your phone out for anything because Siri won’t do anything, it’s absolutely terrible compared to an android. It has been getting better lately thought.
Are you paid by apple by any chance ? Becoming very suspicious
I preordered the 512GB S25+ 🤩🤩🤩
It’s not that Samsung plays it safe but all they’ve been doing is just anticipating what Apple will do then releasing a slightly better speced software feature or hardware feature or physical design etc and say they did it first
Apple hasnt done a thing in many years. I have the 16 pro and the s25 ultra. Samsung has better "everything" in my opinion.
This guy has gotten lazy in his takes and presentation style. The S25 Ultra is a bigger jump that the S24 was to the S23 Ultra
The vocal uptalk...can you guys learn how to speak normally please.
nah
Same boring phone just like every iPhone for the last 6 years
If you continue to say jif I’m unsubscribing. It’s GIF! Hard G
The design is nahh for me.
I’d take the s24 over this
✌️ 🌏 👑
Samsung probably wont play it safe for their next flagship. They will most likely go with an oval look, will keep the flat display and square off the cameras on the back.
The front will have a slightly bigger bezel and there will be no s-pen.
This is my prediction.
I don’t believe the S25 is doing too well, it’s already very heavily discounted on Amazon UK. The S25 lineup has discounts from £150 ($185) to £300 ($370). I think that says a lot.
That's because it's still in pre-order. Samsung has basically the same discounts on their own page.
Not doing well? The phone technically releases on February 7th. Samsung is notorious for pre-order deals when including a trade-in.

Android auto sounds like butt now after the updates so I went back to my iPhone but Siri suck’s
