I used to go to Glastonbury in the 80s when I was a teenager it was very different. It was all scary crazy hippies and gangs of drug dealers. You would get dealers just shouting out "acid" or "puff". At night it was a pretty scary place. I last went in 94 and it had started to become a middle class thing by then. It was so weird in the 80s.
I dealt with this in marching band in high school. In order to have the whole band playing in time, anyone far away from the drum major had to purposefully play ahead of the beat for it to sound in time to the judges due to the speed that sound travels. So the people clapping probably are in time to their ears, but are actually behind once the clapping gets to the recording device.
i dunno man, the live sounds closer to a high-tempo dark piano ballad. the original has so much magic in it, whether it’s the strange panning or the “beauty in chaos” element of it.
I was there. To us, we sounded like we were in time. I think it was due to sound delay towards the back but I'm not certain. at the time, I think I remember it being in time - but it was a long time ago
Right, I’m always amazed that musicians of this caliber can tune out 10s of thousands of people clapping out of time...and to think these guys pull “videotape” off live, with its “hidden” down beat.
Everything but the clap in its right place😂
Probably impossible in a space thats so big. Sound travel will take ages
I think just don't clap period. I don't fully understand why this is a thing.
That’s seriously funny.
@@zangasperic11just don’t clap is the fact check of true
@@NudePenguinYes, but this song is notoriously hard to count, I don’t blame people for not being able to find the time.
I was there for whole set at age of 20 - one of my special life moments
I think I was too. RIP Dan🙏✊🙏

How can Ed and Johnny work like that with their hair all in their faces? You see, Phil is smart.

Radioheads greatest song prove me wrong:
You know, I prefer other songs, especially off of OK Computer, but only this song puts me in a total trance.
The set list for this concert is incredible
One of the best Radiohead songs
Thom Yorke is absolute vibes! Love him!!
The mantra for those of us who have OCD. Everything has a place and MUST be there. In it's right place.
Best truth of all!
@@Teresinhadaniel Thank you for your comment. Take care and stay safe.
Everything is now, finally, in it's right place.

Yeah a lot of people don't understand basic physics and the sheer size of the crowds at Glastonbury
ARTEEEE

I am obsessed with this song, the live versions are incredible. I did a cover actually would love to get your feedback !
not a phone in sight......the good 'ol days.
Yeahhhhhh👌
At least one of those people had a cell phone
When live performance is better than the original
this isn't even a tenth as good as the original

I was there. I've heard both many times and the live version is still my favourite.
We’re any commenters? I’m hoping the clapping is just a delay from the crowd to microphone, almost ruins the performance

Oh the joy on INEAR,
the band probably can't hear the clapping

when he discovered CAN and thought no one knew about them...
the crowd clapping out of time is so off putting lol
Clapping should be penalised at this point

Pedal boy has an easy job
Hash for cash 😂

ooo yuck. that clapping is not right

How are so many people off time at once?
@@JFrohlichMusic i think they are stupid
@@JFrohlichMusic -supposedly part of it is the time difference between the liveness of it all and what people are hearing in the crowd.
@@SR91313 that makes sense
Play this at 0.95 speed, where it’s supposed to be. I hate this song at tempo.

nice song
