  • We tried one of the most anticipated innovations of 2024, the Moto Guzzi Stelvio. A bike that was born with the new liquid-cooled Compact Block engine that we have already seen on the V100 Mandello and which marks Moto Guzzi's return to the Adventure segment with a 19-inch front wheel.
The equipment is first-class, with a six-axis inertial platform, bending lights, cornerign ABS and above all - in the PFF Rider Assistance Solution version - electronic driving aids thanks to the front and rear radars. In its Adventure 900/1,100 cc category it is the only one with a cardan shaft and an electrically adjustable windshield, but we also liked it for its top-notch riding and the fluidity of the engine right from the lowest revs. The gearbox is fine and very smooth, whether the quickshifter (optional) or the clutch is used.
Let's not tell you too much, though: enjoy the video that comes directly from the international presentation in Spain.
Advantages: Great dynamic and cycling balance. Smooth engine output. Protection and ergonomics. Accessibility
Defects: Engine inertia at rpm below 3,500 rpm. Optional central stand
Prices and availability: The price list starts from 16,499 euros ex dealer for the standard version but if you want the version equipped with PFF Rider Assistance Solution and the price goes up to 17,299 euros f.c. Two colors available: Black Vulcano and Yellow Savana. You can already find the Moto Guzzi Stelvio in L'Aquila dealerships.

I insist on a shaft drive bike for the occasional off pavement and long distance riding. Below 20k in price, is there a better choice?

Why do you think they have the PFF (or radar package) option but they don’t bring an option for an electronic suspension that the Mandello has? Is it because they needed more time to develop it and it wasn’t ready?

Any chance you can get a larger/heavier rider to test the Stelvio. I am concerned that for heavier riders the front end might get a bit light.
I note that reviews from lighter riders as yourself have no issues at all but it was raised by another who was a 6 footer. He said he corrected the issue by stiffening up the rear shocks to the max and then it was absolutely fine. Being an even larger lump myself (6'5) this concerns me.
    Otherwise what a lovely machine!!

Hi @neilfitter9834, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, we didn't test the Stelvio with other riders yet but our journalists are now aware of your question and will answer you if they try the bike a second time.
We are happy you liked the bike!
