Can you do a breakdown of something that was close to being good, but just fell short. I think it'll be helpful to see common mistakes and learn from them
this!
yes definitely
Looking forward to this 🙏🙏🙏
Has this ever happened? Would be very interested in watching.
My new favourite RUclipsr. Pure craft, no gear reviews. What a blessing.
These are so helpful, thank you bro 🙏🏽
wow JR
Hey JR Ali is here everyone ....
JR Alli you the man!

instablaster
This channel is gold, I'm so glad I found it!
This was so great. Love how you've broken this down on every single shot and the thinking behind it!
Well thank you for making this!!! I cannot believe it can be this easy to shoot great images that not only look great but feel great as well. Love your content.
SOOO good. Your breakdowns are getting me excited again to get back into shooting and taking things seriously, been a bit on the downward slope due to current work and limitations of my own wants to grow.
Hoyte van Hoytema and Roger Deakins style lighting! Great walk through! Subscribed!
This is the butter to my bread. Thank you kindly for such amazing content! 🙌
Yaaaas queen!!! Best channel on RUclips.
u bedda believe ittttt
You’ve been posting a lot and I couldn’t be happier!
Learned soooo much!!! These videos are greatly appreciated 🙏🏽
These vids reaffirm things i have learnt over years, but also add things i don't know. Best enjoyed over a beer or two
Fantastic content and truly insightful! you are a master of light💡
WOW! I just subbed man. These videos are great and very helpful. I have a few short movies up, but I think this channel will definitely help with the projects that I make in the future. This has shed a whole new light on things. Thanks. Now I'll have to go binge-watch the rest of these 😎
Grateful for this lesson. Love the structure and information. Please do more if you have the time!
Hello. I do love your breakdowns but I appreciate if you could attach the link to the ad so we can watch them to fully appreciate the creativity involved. Thank you
This one in particular was directed by Bonnie Moir. If you type in "Bonnie Moir Exit Films" on google and go to her page, you can find this ad. She’s got a bunch of great work on the website
I really watched a lot of youtube videos about cinematography but just watching a few of your videos i feel like I learned more than the past few years. This are pure gold and I am so thankful for you to share your knowledge with us!!
Great to hear!
Yeah magic man 😎 ... haven’t done any formal training so to have your expertise has given me a much deeper understanding and love for the craft... I will be watching all of your great posts ...
I worked on this spot. You were right, it was just a 4k through an 8 ft full grid through the window outside. And it was shot by Sam Chiplin :)
Can u please post the link of the commercial? :)
Man, I can't express how much I have learned through your videos. I'm only a photographer getting slowly into filmmaking, and your videos have even upped my photography game by 100 levels with your knowledge on framing and lighting. I'm so thankful. I recommend this channel to all my photographer/filmmaker friends.
These videos are stupendous. Most underrated channel on youtube.
Great episode so much learning! Thanks
Thanks for doing this man. Love your podcast. Happy to see that you're also on youtube!
Thanks for checking it out!
Man this stuff is so good, please keep it up!
Even in the first 3:35 seconds, breaking down the first shot, there's more info packed into that analysis than I see in most TY videos on lighting. Like the podcast, this channel is gold
This is the video I’ve been looking for. 🙏🏻
Thank you Patrick! I’ve been watching your videos on and off but I found your recent videos on the framework has changed the way I approach lighting!
Great to hear!
I don't what to say .. Learning, learning . Thank you so much for creating this type of contents
Thanks so much for taking You time to put out educative content. You're the best..
Im SO happy I have found your channel! This is SO helpful! Aspiring DP here :)
I just want to say I love your work and methodology! Thank you very much for the great content.
I appreciate that!
Man your breakdowns are so informative and they help thank you from South Africa ❤
I didn't want that this secret jewel of a channel becomes popular (I know I am a greddy fuck), but you absolutly deserve it and I am sure you will blow up soon.
Wow, this is epic! Thank you so much!! Learned a ton from this!
We're an indie channel with limited resources, trying to get better at cinematography and I've found so much great information from your channel. It's exciting! Thank you so much for this invaluable information.
Another incredible Breakdown. What I would love to see is where you do one of those Breakdowns and have the actual DP or Director there with you as a Guest and hear what he has to say about the breakdown and maybe give some insight on the actual shoot. I think that would be an amazing conversation. Kinda like what Peter McKinnon does on what he calls "Photo Storys" where he gets other Photographers on his Channel to talk about some of their pictures and how they were made.
I so enjoy this. thank you. oh and YAY!
Nice breakdown - I couldn't help feel slightly rushed at the end without any full grasp of the commercial. I think playing the advert in full, allowing us to see how you're comments and analysis tie in with the story and final product, would be a nice finishing touch. Great stuff all round! Thanks a lot!
thank you again! always fun and helpful sitting down watching these!
Glad to hear it!
I've listened to the podcast for years now, big fan. Appreciate all of the time you put into sharing your knowledge with us. Quick question for you or anyone else in the comments, do you have a single podcast episode, blog post, etc that explains the framework in its entirety? I feel like I know all the different components of it, but I just want to make sure.
Awesome analysis!
Thanks for this 🙏🙏🙏
Just incredible. Can’t wait to apply these!
Have fun!
Just love these!
I just want to thank you for these breakdowns, I learned more than the past few years

Hooked, dig the stuff you're putting up.
Very good breakdown thank you!
This could easily be a paid workshop.
PS :maybe a breakdown of unsuccesfull cinematography. What went wrong and what should be treated in different way.
Keep up the good work!
Did someone say paid??? Count me in

Awesome, thank you!
Amazing channel
love this thank you

Great breakdown as always, could you please talk about how to create a bright commercial look without being flat?
Cheers. I have used some of this techniques before.
Thanks! I learned a lot here!!
Glad to hear it!
Great Video not to mention ... nicely lit : P
epic thank you!
Awesome!
You tip on the Tian Tubes for ambient lift, I am wondering if LiteMat 4 would be more efficient? Seems like LiteMat is everyones "go to" these days. And then accent corners and practicals with Tubes if necessary.
appreciate your videos so much man! Link to the original video?
amazing content, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
So awesome ! Could you link the commercials down so we could look at them also ?
Thanks
Thamk you, detail explanation

Absolutely under appreciated content, man! Lovely! But, could you do me a favor? Can u mention the names of the commercials that you're breaking down?
vimeo.com/321913770
thankyou
My guy 🙏🏾
My man!
Are there any resources I can view about the framework specifically, I see you mention it a lot in your videos so I want to learn it in detail!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Hey Bro, I was wondering if you teach more in depth in your patreon. With bts of how these shots are set up for your shoots.
🙌🙌
5:25 My first notice is that the lines are straight vertical. I was always under the assumption these needed to be straightened. Your take?
@wonderingdp @12:14 you mentioned that they use a slightly wider focal. What focal would you say that they use?
Thank you
Where can I find more information about this titan tube rig you mentioned?
Hey brotha what light do you use in the backround and you do this shapes?
can you put the commercial link also in the description.
