Small, simple and back to basics. Can’t fault Kia for that. Ford made a big mistake ditching the fiesta, because I think there’s still a market for small city cars that are cheap to run and just have the essentials you need. This is ideal for nipping to town or busy built up areas. Small wheels and a nice simple non turbo petrol engine. Other manufacturers are missing a trick here I think.
It's actually all the car that most people need. We don't need EVs, we just need clever little city cars like this Kia, which clearly put a smile on your face! 😅
The new Dacia Spring A segment city hatch with a bigger boot is cheaper at less than £15k. After sitting in traffic listening to my friend complain about her manual Alfa I can't help but think that the more fit for purpose Dacia beats this hands down. Most city car drivers wouldn't appreciate the engine sound either, although I personally enjoyed my last 3 cylinder cars engine note. What about emissions zones? So for many people there is very good reason to go EV and this Kia would be a bit of a pain.
Actually BEV would be perfect for this car. Think about it BEV's are more efficient in the city, you're unlikely to use this car outside the city often and will likely be a second car and would be much cheaper to run. Just a shame most car manufacturers don't want to make cheap BEV's.
I had a new original Picanto. I changed the oil myself and never took it back to the garage. After 85000 miles absolutely nothing had gone wrong or broken. £6500 for the top spec with metallic paint. Those were the days.
I had this car’s sister - a 1.2 Hyundai i10. It had heated seats and steering wheel and I got low 50 mpgs all day long without trying. Had it for 5 years when my kids were small. I had zero expectations of it but it was comfortable, quiet and most importantly NOTHING went wrong in the 5 years I had it. It was such a good car.
i10 me too still have it. 2017 White premium SE 1.2 extra driving assist with red trim. Cannot fault it except for the indicator is not loud enough. 23,000 miles no failures at all 54+ mpg. Shame the Picanto engines are so sluggish
Brilliant little car the car we should all be using on our overcrowded and pot holed roads. The price is good in an age of gross overpriced vehicles. Kia and Hyundai are now the only people offering a decent small car although I should add the Aygo and the entry Clio. No wonder Ford and Vauxhall market share continues to plummet. Great review by the way!
What's not to like! I really like everything about it, and it's at a sensible price. Also, don't KIA do a 7-year warranty. So its Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! 👍 Thanks Peter for a great review. 👍
my daughter has a 2023 picanto 2 great little car cheap to run and insure. great service from local Kia dealer brought new via autotrader and got £2000 off the list price
When I got married, 17 years ago, we bought a Kia Pride, this car's predecessor... It was used, around 3 or 4 years old at the time and it was what we could afford at that time... we drove that little car all over Sweden, where we lived at the time and I have such great memories of it... just a solid little car that worked with no frills.

Good to see a review of a car from the cheaper end of the market. One of my kids needs a car to replace her current one and this would be perfect. Also good to see you driving through my village! If anyone thinks that the new Picanto is still too expensive then buy one that is a couple of years old, you're still getting a good car!
Bought one of these new in 2011 just after the new face-lift. Paid around £8600 for it. Basic model but was used as a second car for small journeys into town by my wife. I loved it. Nippy little 3 cylinder engine , no road tax and cheep to insure plus good MPG. We had it 6 years with no problems at all. You could always get it parked due to the size and fun to drive. Back to basics. As a second car or town car or even a first car I would highly recommend them.
Perfectly proves the point that, if you just want straightforward transport to get you from A-B, you don’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of money. Credit to you for featuring this and I’m sure Kia will shift loads of them to the motoring masses. 8yrs ago my daughter was fed up with her older cars always having problems, so I suggested she looked at a new Kia Rio as it came with a 7yr warranty so, if she had it serviced regularly, she wouldn’t have any worries for 7yrs basically. It cost her a similar amount and here we are 8yrs later and 100k miles and it’s still running perfectly. Apart from servicing costs it hasn’t needed anything spent on it so what’s not to like? This is motoring for the masses and until they produce an EV for a similar amount this is what people will buy.
We have the Hyundai i10 which is basically the same. We got it for our daughter to learn to drive in. However I’m in my mid-50s and have been driving EVs for 5 years or so, primarily a Tesla. I absolutely love driving the little i10. Yes its back to basics driving but that makes it charming and fun.
Love these little beasties. Puts the driving experience back into driving and the level of kit is surprising for the cost. Ideal for zipping around town or the twisty windy country roads, and ideal for driving around the old towns in Italy and the Amalfi where a tiny car is an advantage. Park the thing anywhere and if push comes to shove can take 4 adult passengers. Back seats folded and two large suit cases are easily accommodated. More economical than an EV and probably in true environmental impact is less polluting than a Pure EV , because most EV are charged on coal or gas fired power and the true cost and Environmental impact of Battery manufacture take into account. lighter so less damage to roads etc.
Your smile throughout this review, and the quiet satisfaction with the basic nature of the Kia should sell it alone! My partner had a 2010 Picanto, same red as this, and it was a brilliant car even if it was tractor-basic. Small, economical, reliable, affordable, what more do we need. Edited for spelling.
Good to see a car which offers a traditional “analogue” experience! My mother has had various Picanto’s over the years and whilst I wouldn’t want to do a tour of Europe in one, around town they are fantastic!
One of the many great things about most Hyundai and Kia cars is that their fuel consumption claims are very honest. I drove the Hyundai i20 and it would often do 50-55 mpg. I am currently driving a Kia XCeed (great car by the way) 1.5T-GDI which the manufacturers claim will do 44 MPG. I usually get 47-48 mpg, and have seen it go as high as 58 mpg on one trip. Add to that great quality and a very nice driving experience and It’s no wonder that they rank No.3 in the world today. I’m sold!
I’m about to take delivery of my 4th brand new Picanto, 1st one was a ‘62’ plate in 2013. It was the ‘3’ version in flat white and manual. 2nd was a ‘4’ model ‘65’ plate in metallic red and automatic. 3rd was the ‘18’ plate GT Line S, manual in flat powder blue. A brief visit to a Stonic hybrid in ‘71’ plate, and now back to the Picanto, this time another GT Line S in the new green outfit with the automated 5 speed DCT transmission. I am male but I don’t care much about speed and power, but the level of equipment is more important. I do like my luxury as a former Jaguar XJ6 (I owned two of them) owner can testify. As mentioned in the video even the ’2’ trim being tested had lots of toys as you put it, the GT Line S has more toys and luxury than was ever in my old Jags!! These are brilliant little cars, great for all ages of drivers and both genders. I hope Kia continue with this car or if they discontinued it, I hope they replace it with the next gen city car type, whatever its new name would be. 3 cheers for the Picanto 🙂
I run a Toyota Aygo X as a daily/commuter. It's great fun to drive being so small and light, and comes with nigh on all the toys as standard! I don't drive it with economy in mind, nor strive for the best MPG yet i still average 55-57MPG over the last 7K miles.
Really enjoyed this review Pete, a few more affordable car videos wouldn’t go amiss. Personally I don’t think you can go wrong with a Kia or Hyundai and this little Picanto is no exception from this review. And always enjoy your humour 👍
Thanks for this one Pedro. We do need more reviews of level entry cars please. It will help many of your viewers make an informed decision. This certainly looks a cracking little car and great VFM,
Bought a 2023 turbo GT Line S at the beginning of the year ,looks great , sounds great and fun to drive . Makes me smile every time I drive it . Great video
Excellent review Ped About time you tested a small car My wife bought a year old Yaris hybrid for 17 k , always gets 82mpg on a 45 Mile commute 60 to gallon on a 100 mile motorway run recently
we have a 2020 Yaris hybrid, it was used bt Toyota for picking delivery drivers up (so they said) and the trip computer showed an average of 90 mpg when we got it 3 years ago
Love the review! Part of the fun with low powered cars is keeping the momentum going. Arguably proves that a talented driver can be pretty quick in this type of car. Love a back to basics car, full of character
I had a 2014 Picanto that came after a Jaguar XF Portfolio with a twin turbo V6 diesel and a lot of kit. As nice as the Jaguar was I loved the Picanto for it's lightness and fun drive. The ride comfort was amazingly sorted and the gearchange was like knife though butter. It even felt capable on the motorway. It's remarkable that this class of car isn't common now but suggests to me that legacy marques are compromised by the transition to electric cars and are losing money on each EV they build so they have axed low profit small cars. Thanks for the video. 👍🏼
You're absolutely spot on Ped! I drove one for two days whilst my xceed was being serviced and it's an amazing little car. On the second day I reset the trip computer, drove economically and managed to do 78mpg... There is only one car that I know that drives and sounds like this: the supercharged Micra dig-s but certainly not as fuel efficient... Nice bit of kit and nice review as always. 👌🏻 PS. I have two i10s at work and it's hard to believe they're brothers...
Pete I have to admit.I haven’t watched your channel for awhile. When I saw this I tuned in.My brother and myself only drive theseWe go for the higher spec models though. Please review the GT Line, would be appreciated so we can see the differences.Thank you 👊🏻
I am a lover of small cars and have served me impeccably.original nissan micra 1.0 16 v, hyundai i10, yaris 1.0still got. Do everything these juggernauts can. My daughter was a holiday rep in Cyprus a few years ago and when I visited she picked me up in an original picanto was a suspension she’d but engine on 300k kilometres and driven and abused by many
Ah good one for the "workers" and he dodads that come with are amazing. Reminds me of the early days on the Mini 850, now that was basic haha. Thanks once again full marks for odd things called a gear stick and handbrake leaver.... more of it please. Cheers
My Sister passed her test earlier this year and just under a month bought her first car and bought a "66" reg 1.2 sport Auto what a lovley little car 🚗 👍 Only thing I can't get with Kia is how the performance has gone backwards 0-60 times are slower on the newer model must be the only car to do that, but not fast in the first place so no big deal 😂😂😂
Good review Pete, should keep the naysayers quiet for a bit “you are reviewing too many unobtainium cars” etc….as for the Kia, obviously when a lot of manufacturers have dumped smaller models, they still feel there is a market, so all kudos to them. Also, I always read that the big touch screens in most modern (and more expensive cars) are all about cost saving, so the lack of switches and knobs, so how come it’s not the case here!!
Pete waht agrest review, ideal for a new driver and as you indicate seems to be fun without getting yourself into trouble. I loved your opening segment, your always goingto get someone critisizing whatevery you do. keep them coming
We went on holiday to Cyprus and the hire car was a Picanto and to be honest I was impressed with it .I could make it my daily quite easy they say dont knock it till you've tried it .
Nice review, I like the new Picanto. This is what we need more of, good, small, affordable and efficient cars. Very few people really need anything bigger, heavier, more complicated or faster than this. I was in the market for a new small car last year, and did look at the Picanto. I really liked it, but couldn't get away with the seat comfort, anything over 30 minutes and I was uncomfortable. So I went with a new Toyota Aygo X, and I've been round Europe in that without any issues, comfort or otherwise. Small cars are great, and fun!
My daughter has a 55 reg one which was given to her by my mum. It had original tyres on the rear (mileage only 34K) and the aircon still works. A bit gutless but a great first car.
Welcome to the real world of ordinary motoring PP! Good to see a test of such a great little car, one that people actually want/need. Most buyers won't care about torque or other things that appear so important to today's motoring press, so it's good to see you in the driver's seat of something realistic for many people.
Love these little cars. I’ve always had cars of this size as it is only me in the car and I don’t need some massive suv thing for one person just to go to work and back. Also, for insurance purposes too because of my age. I currently have a 1 litre vw up top spec and it’s just £660 a year full comp. This is my 3rd year of driving and I was also in a collision too. Yeah, the one litre does struggle at times, but at the end of the day the mpg is brilliant and it is just what I need. I glad that a car manufacturer is still making these city cars as most have stopped making them. The design on the picanto looks pretty cool to me. I’m someone who likes something quirky. Most people my age want Audi or BMW, but I think economical and want my money to go as far as possible don’t need nothing flashy at my age.
Nice looking car, had a few picantoes in the past, loved the little 3cyl engine, sounded great. Did several long motorway trips in them from Cornwall, and were fine. Great review ped 😊
My first car was a cracking little Vauxhall Viva 2018. Had everything on it and it only cost just over 9 grand pre registered. These little cars that cost so little really is the way forward for so many people. Love Kia as a brand. Drive a bog standard Sportage 24 plate at work and its a fantastic car.
Propper motoring Journalism Pete with an ICE car, i bet this video does better than many preceding it even thought it is a KIA which by the way looks like a nice little car.
We have a 2017 Sportage, and in the past have owned a Sedona 2.9 td (rebadged Mercedes diesel engine) from new for 13 yrs, and a Carens. All have been utterly reliable. I run a Suzuki Baleno 2016 with a 1 ltr 3 cylinder engine and am getting 58 mpg.
Another fun review Pete! Those little turbo-free three pot engines with little torque are a joy whilst trying to get the most out of them! Have one on my wife’s Polo. Not to mention consumption which really can’t go wrong even when you’re pushing on. Another advantage of not having a turbo. Cheers, Tom
Hyundai/Kia prices are not cheap for genuine. Not many brands are these days. My ancient Hyundai spares are about 10 times what they pay in India which is where it was made. It's like buying printer ink. The printer is cheap but the ink cost more than gold.
7 year warranty so cost of parts isn't much of an issue. Servicing cost at UK main dealers is a bit pricey like most dealerships are but 3 or 4 year plans make it cheaper, besides you're free to get it serviced and MOTd anywhere you like without invalidating the warranty. I've owed my Picanto for 8 years and it's had no work done on it other than replenishables.
The top of the range Gt Line S. Gets full led lights, light bar on the front, heated seats and steering wheel, rear cross traffic alert and side alert, o and Ped wireless phone charging & Vegan leather seats & Steering wheel & automatic air conditioning plus all the same as the model you used for the test drive and a 1.2 cc engine plus the sat nav & a sun roof. A very impressive new car for the money especially with all the tec and warranty. I realise the top model is £2.500 more but whats the next manufacturer offering Hyundi and Toyota. I really like it. Great video Ped you're great at publicising any brand of car first class like normal. I was surprised how enthusiastic you were driving it. My brother owns a two year old picanto he loves it and his is a one version 👍.
I love the front styling, Pete. For the price that's a cracking little car - it would be interesting to see what it's like on a long journey. Very impressive!
We are a 2 car family with 2 grown up boys, well young men 24 and 25 and both 6 foot. When we all go out we go in the main car, a 2017 Kia Optima GT Line S, one that I would l like to replace but sadly Kia don't do them anymore. Our other car is a 2011 Kia Picanto 1.2 Automatic and I actually quite like driving it. My dad bought it new but when he got to the age when he shouldn't be driving we bought it off him and apart from a spring cracking a few years ago we haven't really had any problems with it. I had three other Kias before the Optima and they have been very reliable and both the spring problem with the Picanto and any problems I have had with the Optima have all been covered under their great warranty.
I have a desire to own a Kia Picanto but my wife is completely against it due to her 'badge snobbery', so there needs to be much work needed by me before I get behind the wheel of one. We have 3 cars between us, the least used is a Mini Cooper S Roadster 2 Seater Rag Top which I use as my 'summer' car. I've waited for the 2024 Face-lift Picanto to be available in the UK for about 12 months, so I went to Kia on Friday to look at one. TBH, I was rather deflated at the appearance of the new front. It didn't look as good as the publicity pictures I've seen over the last months. It simply doesn't seem to suit the car! Comparing it with 2024 (Non Face-lifted) versions on the forecourt, the new front doesn't look as aggressive or as 'cheeky' as the previous model. If I do buy a Picanto in the future, I'm inclined to go for a 2024 Non Face-lift version - I think it's better looking & the front looks more purposeful. By the way - Kia have discontinued the Turbo from the 1ltr 3 cyl engine. A huge mistake in my opinion. It's a Turbo that gives a 1ltr 3 pot engine the extra zing that we are looking for, it also makes a car more fun to drive. Maybe Kia have pensioners as their target customer for the new Kia, I'm a pensioner but I still want a Turbo in their Picanto, I'm not ready for the 'Crem' just yet.
Id say the Niro is the best size compromise; a proper family car, plenty of boot capacity, fairly small and easy to park. If you dont need that space, the Sttonic 3 cylinder turbo DCT is a hoot
i agree totally with you, these kind of cars are perfect for a 2nd car,or for nipping round town to do the shoping etc, but are also good enough for the odd longer journey. not everybody wants to spend 30k + on a new car, i recently was looking for something similar, and bought a new mazda 2 1.5 90ps for £18100 (with a nice discount), but its got me thinking that a picanto would have been ideal really.... im surprised the chinese dont sell cheap small cars to us, as theres less and less manufactures making them now....
I love the fact that it has given you a massive smile on your face. The little 3-cyl engine giving a wonderful noise, the fact it does not creak and rattle meaning it is well made, and puts back the real FUN of driving at low speeds. Yes, it does not have the space for four up and long distance, but as a day to day car for commutes, the fact your big smile on you face, makes it for me, a bit of a winner. Mind you I have had several superminis over the years and it is that low(er) speed fun when you are driving to work, or a quick weekend away makes it so much more fun! Back to basics in a very well made package. Almost a Mini Cooper (original one) for the 21st century. I may look at one as a second car to my holdall.
I genuinely thought that the sound of the car was another joke was thinking ohh he's put a different engine sound over the top.... It actually sounds like that! A map and a Halford wing and you got half a rice box there... Love it
Looks like the new "Fiesta" mass market car, what have you done Ford? If it's fun off a roundabout and it cruses ok at 70 what more do you want, great fun.
I didn't notice to flip the bonnet open! A male thing I know, but would have made this video top marks. As for tech on the car, pity they didn't sub it down and keep the price lower. In Australia a manual gearbox is now extinct just about, whereas you showed how F'd the system has become lured by high tech. The small wheels remind as a teenager my older peers had the Mini. My only concern with this car is safety on Motorways (Freeways in Australia) which if in Victoria, we have shyte roads where a Kia Picanto wheel may well get permanently lodged in one of our many potholes. As an urban runabout it seems a no brainer but what is the best thing about this vehicle is the MANUAL gearbox! This teaches drivers not only how to drive without holding a mobile phone but they learn indirectly how a car works. P155ed my self with your wicked humour on the "handbrake" & key slot turn starter and best of all your suggestion for a handbrake burnout manourvre! This car gets me back to when anyone could afford a car and have FUN. So EV lovers, move over and let these cars save the planet, especially the human side, EVs and autonomous vehicles just create morons, this car creates drivers and reignites the need for a Manual licence. Keep up the good work Pete.
Bought my daughter one of these 18 months ago as her first car, higher spec than this, but otherwise very similar. This really is a great little car, a bit more poke would be nice, but we’ve been to London twice to get some experience in more challenging conditions absolutely no problems. Will happily buzz along at 70/80, super easy to drive, all the toys a teen needs, comfortable and quiet enough and handles really rather well, it has character and isn’t dull/unresponsive. A relative bargain in a world of stupidly expensive cars, would throughly recommend
Yeah these are great. I’ve got a first generation i10 just as a daily (997 for a fun car) and frankly it does everything I need it to. And they’re pretty bulletproof.
Nice small car. The issue is price. I recently purchased a Kia Xceed. A much larger car with 1.5 litre turbo engine with 6 speed manual gearbox. Brand new after dealer and manufacturer discounts, £20,000.
Small, simple and back to basics. Can’t fault Kia for that. Ford made a big mistake ditching the fiesta, because I think there’s still a market for small city cars that are cheap to run and just have the essentials you need.

If you have off road parking. You would be a fool not to get an EV.
@@deansh8506 Hardly. If you like cars, no matter where you live, you will never buy an EV. Motoring enthusiasts don't need to virtue signal.
That car is such a breath of fresh air with all the huge, heavy EV's around, it's cheeky and cute
Seat Mii, Volkswagen Up, Skoda Citigo (electric versions) enter the chat...

“This is called a ‘hand brake’…” made me spew my coffee!!!
My £90k Merc SL from 1999 has the same flick knife key to start the car.
It’s perfect - probably all the car the majority of people would ever need, I would have one!
Yep 👍
Refreshing! Lots of a-segmenters being discontinued. Props to KIA for keeping them alive!
Couldn't agree more!
In my opinion one of the best City Cars on sale 😊
The Hyundai i10 N-line is better; extra power when you need it.
@@fredwest2234 The Picanto looks way better.

Dacia Sandero Stepway - £15,295
Dacia Spring - £14,995
Fiat Panda - £14,750
MG 3 - £14,355
Citroen C3 - £14,150
Dacia Sandero - £13,795
Citroen Ami - £7695
Kias are surprisingly good to drive. You need to try the Ceed, Proceed, Optima. They handle really well.

Couldn't agree more!
Same for me! Always liked the Up!
@@PetrolPed ever tried an Up GTi Ped?
Good to see a car which offers a traditional “analogue” experience! My mother has had various Picanto’s over the years and whilst I wouldn’t want to do a tour of Europe in one, around town they are fantastic!
Indeed 👍
Brilliant, more of these types of reviews please.
I’d be interested in a direct comparison to the Hyundai i10
On my list 👍
Great review - I love our Picanto 😊. The sound it makes is one of my favourite features! Oh, and ours has a turbo ❤Rosie
Hello lovely. How are you ?!
I’m sold!
Great to hear 👍
wonderful review, and yes, it is a great thing to include more car categories, cheap, mid-range etc. Keep it up mate
Thanks for doing another affordable car review!! I think these little things are brilliant
Glad you like them!
Great video Ped! That Kia reminds me of the Fiat Cinquecento from the 90’s they were small really fun cars to drive.
Yes it was!
I run a Toyota Aygo X as a daily/commuter. It's great fun to drive being so small and light, and comes with nigh on all the toys as standard! I don't drive it with economy in mind, nor strive for the best MPG yet i still average 55-57MPG over the last 7K miles.
Need to drive one of those next 👍
@@PetrolPed Happy to offer mine to you, if needed. Drop me a message if you are interested - i am not too far from Chichester.
Great review good fun to watch wish more new cars had a proper key you know that thing you started the car with 😄
Thanks! 👍
Key start, hand brake... they just have to remove the pointless ipad/tablet, lane departure and bongs and Voilà, a real car!
Really enjoyed this review Pete, a few more affordable car videos wouldn’t go amiss. Personally I don’t think you can go wrong with a Kia or Hyundai and this little Picanto is no exception from this review. And always enjoy your humour 👍
Will do 👍
Thanks for this one Pedro. We do need more reviews of level entry cars please. It will help many of your viewers make an informed decision. This certainly looks a cracking little car and great VFM,
More to come!
Bought a 2023 turbo GT Line S at the beginning of the year ,looks great , sounds great and fun to drive . Makes me smile every time I drive it . Great video
Great review, great car for the money, nice starter new car. Cheap to run and with 7 years warranty has got to be good 👍
Couldn't agree more!
I enjoyed the review and I liked the ‘tongue ‘n’ cheek’ style you presented in 😂. More reviews of cars like these kind of thing.
Thanks! Will do!
Excellent review, thanks! Can you also review the Suzuki Swift as a way to compare and contrast?
Haven’t driven a Swift for ages 👍
I love the Picanto ,always enjoy driving them when my Ceed goes in for servicing.its just a car for A to B and does the job perfectly for the price.
Yep 👍
Excellent review Ped
About time you tested a small car
My wife bought a year old Yaris hybrid for 17 k , always gets 82mpg on a 45 Mile commute
60 to gallon on a 100 mile motorway run recently
we have a 2020 Yaris hybrid, it was used bt Toyota for picking delivery drivers up (so they said) and the trip computer showed an average of 90 mpg when we got it 3 years ago
Love the review! Part of the fun with low powered cars is keeping the momentum going. Arguably proves that a talented driver can be pretty quick in this type of car. Love a back to basics car, full of character
Indeed 👍
Great little review and yes, the little 3 cylinders sound really nice!
They are!
I don't think there is any other channel that I'd watch a review on a Kia Picanto 😅 Those little 3 cylinder engines are always so much fun :)
😂😂😂
Great to hear 👍
Pete I have to admit.I haven’t watched your channel for awhile. When I saw this I tuned in.My brother and myself only drive theseWe go for the higher spec models though. Please review the GT Line, would be appreciated so we can see the differences.Thank you 👊🏻
Will put it on my list 👍
@@PetrolPed Thank you Pete, much appreciated.Just lost interest in high cost vehicles and the RUclips videos on them.
Chapeau Ped!
Well done for reviewing the base model Picanto in such an honest way.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
I am a lover of small cars and have served me impeccably.original nissan micra 1.0 16 v, hyundai i10, yaris 1.0still got. Do everything these juggernauts can. My daughter was a holiday rep in Cyprus a few years ago and when I visited she picked me up in an original picanto was a suspension she’d but engine on 300k kilometres and driven and abused by many
Excellent and honest review as normal Peds.
Cheers buddy 👍
Ah good one for the "workers" and he dodads that come with are amazing. Reminds me of the early days on the Mini 850, now that was basic haha. Thanks once again full marks for odd things called a gear stick and handbrake leaver.... more of it please. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
My Sister passed her test earlier this year and just under a month bought her first car and bought a "66" reg 1.2 sport Auto what a lovley little car 🚗 👍
Only thing I can't get with Kia is how the performance has gone backwards 0-60 times are slower on the newer model must be the only car to do that, but not fast in the first place so no big deal 😂😂😂
😂😂👍
Nice 👌
Nice looking car, had a few picantoes in the past, loved the little 3cyl engine, sounded great. Did several long motorway trips in them from Cornwall, and were fine. Great review ped 😊
Thanks 🙏🏻
My first car was a cracking little Vauxhall Viva 2018. Had everything on it and it only cost just over 9 grand pre registered. These little cars that cost so little really is the way forward for so many people. Love Kia as a brand. Drive a bog standard Sportage 24 plate at work and its a fantastic car.
Propper motoring Journalism Pete with an ICE car, i bet this video does better than many preceding it even thought it is a KIA which by the way looks like a nice little car.
Thanks mate 🙏🏻
Great review - wish there was a car channel that only reviewed the base spec. cars.
More to come!
Nice 👌
Another fun review Pete! Those little turbo-free three pot engines with little torque are a joy whilst trying to get the most out of them! Have one on my wife’s Polo. Not to mention consumption which really can’t go wrong even when you’re pushing on. Another advantage of not having a turbo.
Cheers, Tom
👍
great to see a car that the poorer masses could afford. would be interesting to know prices of spares, accessories, servicing etc
👍
I love the front styling, Pete. For the price that's a cracking little car - it would be interesting to see what it's like on a long journey. Very impressive!
I think it would be pretty good 👍
We are a 2 car family with 2 grown up boys, well young men 24 and 25 and both 6 foot.
Really great review
Great city car for the money.
Keep up the great reviews
Best
Mark
Thanks! 👍
That looks like a fun car, many Smiles per hour too 🙂
On my Second Picanto now, great a to b cars with a good waranty also very friendly local dealership
Great to hear 👍
Great review pete..
Refreshing to see these car sectors
Glad you enjoyed it
I think most of the you tubers just think of supercars or high end stuff..
Keep up the good work pete
My wife has a Kia Venga "Tardis" best car I ever bought her! she had a Picanto before the grandchildren and that was spectacular!
Looks very well built. I'd certainly consider it.
It is 👍
i agree totally with you, these kind of cars are perfect for a 2nd car,or for nipping round town to do the shoping etc, but are also good enough for the odd longer journey. not everybody wants to spend 30k + on a new car, i recently was looking for something similar, and bought a new mazda 2 1.5 90ps for £18100 (with a nice discount), but its got me thinking that a picanto would have been ideal really.... im surprised the chinese dont sell cheap small cars to us, as theres less and less manufactures making them now....
👍
What a lovely little thing. We kinda forget about the basics and kinda spoilt with too many toys these days
Would make a nice city car for running errands, or car for the teens.
Yep 👍
👍
Nice to see it at that price, but I would go for the Dacia Spring. As it will be even cheaper to run.
Fair enough!
A neat little affordable car! Thanks for showing us this one Sir Pete!
My pleasure!!
Kia are doing some banging cars a lately, my new Suzuki jimny has a key you twist so much the better for it
This was great to watch you in a cheap car, Would you be able to also test a Dacia Sandero, as your reviews are always unbiased?
Will add it to the list 👍
Another brilliant video 💪
Thank you 🙌
You were having a lot of fun. Sounds like you've found the replacement for when you hand the Boxter back
It was great fun 👍
I genuinely thought that the sound of the car was another joke was thinking ohh he's put a different engine sound over the top.... It actually sounds like that! A map and a Halford wing and you got half a rice box there... Love it
Mod tastic 😂
Looks like the new "Fiesta" mass market car, what have you done Ford? If it's fun off a roundabout and it cruses ok at 70 what more do you want, great fun.
My thoughts exactly
Love this 👍
Have a GT Line S as a second car. Its brilliant!
Great review Pete enjoyed that ty.
Thanks 👍
Yeah these are great. I’ve got a first generation i10 just as a daily (997 for a fun car) and frankly it does everything I need it to. And they’re pretty bulletproof.
Excellent review. My wife drives a Picanto and she really likes it.I enjoy the odd drive in it too.
Thanks! 👍
A local run around or city car that actually makes some sense!!!!!
Looks good.
Indeed 👍
Nice small car. The issue is price. I recently purchased a Kia Xceed. A much larger car with 1.5 litre turbo engine with 6 speed manual gearbox. Brand new after dealer and manufacturer discounts, £20,000.
Very nice!
