Poached eggs are generally healthier than eggs fried in a pan. Try heating the water to boiling first, then crack the egg into the hot water. Return to the microwave for about 30 seconds and the combination should cook the egg (check if it's done to your liking). Likewise you can hardboil and egg in a coffee cup. Heat water until boiling for 10-15 seconds. Lower egg into the cup, set side until cool. The residual heat will hardboil the egg without overcooking and giving you that nasty sulfur smell.

Personally I've always preferred plain scrambled eggs (with salt+pepper stirred in while liquid) over adding milk and other nonsense, just cooked very lightly. It's a much richer taste and a nicer texture I think. Pretty nice tips though... never thought of microwaving eggs. My grandmother used to microwave bacon though. I suck at flipping over easy eggs though so I may try this.

good video, will definitely try it out. One thing though you cannot preheat a plate in the microwave, microwaves work but reacting with the water molecules in the food which heats it up so it can not heat up things with no water content, like a plate.
They interact most strongly with water. They are tuned to make water molecules spin, which creates lots of friction. Some energy could still be absorbed by the plate.

Well I guess this is good to know for emergency situations where the microwave is the absolute only option, but I would honestly rather take my camping stove into the backyard, throw a few ezbit starters underneath it, light it up and cook it properly. I guess that's why it's aimed at college kids. I have a hard time believing the texture tastes good when cooked in a microwave...the poached egg is the best one imo, you could actually get one of those little rubber egg holders designed for poached eggs, put the egg in that and let the holder float in the water.
Sometimes the taste and/or texture isn't what matters. What matters is that you're eating food that won't kill you & provides the necessary nourishment to get through the day.

Once not long ago I was poaching some eggs and it must've been the container as I had done it before for ages and there was an almighty bang and the micro door blew open and there were egglets from here to next Christmas! All the eggs were overcooked. The first one was def not sunny side and the poached looked hard boiled. I would still eat it tho cuz it looks bomb but obviously the microwave sucks for cooking runny eggs.
