Totally agree about Zara. Their stuff almost always looks better in pictures. I also find their sizing is tailored towards 6 foot + models so their pieces are absolutely massive! Having said that, their origins collection sometimes produces a gem. I managed to get a really nice wool jacket from that collection last year which is the only piece I've found from Zara that actually fits me!
I'm 6ft 3 and I find plenty of stuff at Zara that fits me super nicely.. much better than stuff from other places a lot of the time. Must be my build and not just my height
To my mind, Uniqlo has another advantage which is that they maintain variety in terms of style but almost all their pieces still work together cohesively. Obviously you *could* create monstrosities if you try hard but for the most part their pieces style together very well, which I can’t say for most other brands in this price range.
I went into a uniqlo store for the very first time in my life. I mainly thrift, and my personal style ranges from punk, workwear, military, and western americana influences, so I've never felt the need to shop at uniqlo. I left spending way more than I thought I would, and honestly I'm glad I did. It's unbelievable how versatile so many of their staples are. I've been trying to dip into a cleaner aesthetic that still resonates with my "attitude", and it's insane how I'm able to weave so many outfits from only 3 pieces I bought. I still don't trust that they're higher quality than the tough, durable brands I usually buy from, but consider me a fan of uniqlo moving forward.
Zara is really hit or miss. I've only kept one bomber jacket from them. Don't bother with the basic essentials from Zara, but some jackets do look pretty nice for its value.
scrolled to the comments to say this pretty much. I have a few decent jackets from them, one in particular which i love, but the rest isn't really up to par. Cos is good for trousers and i like their regular fit t-shirts. Good quality and a nice fit for me
The heavyweight basic t shirts to me are amazing. But when it comes to footwear, I agree that the quality control is not apparent. Had maybe under 15 wears in some derbies and the sole was coming off
About Zara… I agree that some items look bad quality. But I really like the Zara Origins collection. This section is more focused in basics and the items are much better quality than the rest of the items of the brand.
@@HarryHas I didn’t see the comment but it could be. Sometimes depends on the type of items or your luck. For example, I love Levis but I had a horrible experience with their skinny and taper slim jeans (lucky me that I don’t wear these type of jeans anymore xD)
@@Drownedinblood I acquired one wool Overshirt jacket ,it was around 100€ if I remember well. I really like the fit and the wool is good for the price. I have also to add some context, I live in Spain and here Zara is around a 15-20% cheaper(also Mango, Massimo Dutti…)
@@paskafWas it a recent production or from like a decade ago? I was checking out some origins coats, and the wool doesn't seem bad but weirdly knappy so I assume it's some reprocesses stuff.

With you on the Zara comment. Haven't bought anything from them in a while as the items often don't look like the pictures! Might be worth giving them another go soon though to see if they have improved like you said.
Yeah man. I remember having some trousers from them that ripped the first time I pulled them up to put them on! That was a long time ago so hopefully they can’t have got worse haha

Before i was not aware of cos brand, when i check the first opening branch in my country i didn't expect the price its in the middle range of luxury and affordable 😂 so my plan b was uniqlo
I agree with uniqlo taking the W. But I do want want to reminisce on how h&m was the one who took fast fashion to a different level. And have withstood the likes of American apparel, urban outfitters, heritage, cotton on and so on. To this day I prefer h&m denim/jeans because I don’t like the stretchy material most brands have these days. I still like my jeans/denim rough and rugged feeling. And I still have jackets/hoodies from a decade ago that have stood the test of time.
My toughts: Cos - Can be a bit hit or miss. But when I hit right, it's my favorite brand. Arket - Good brand if you want to play it safe. A little bit too preppy for me. Uniqlo - I think the basic brand is on the more boring side. It's in the collabs it gets interesting. Weekday - Too much fast fashion for me. Never bought anything long-lasting there. H&M - Usually too boring and cheap for me. But of course, you can find something good there.
I used to buy clothes from other brands but when I bought my first Uniqlo clothing, I love it and never went back buying to other brands. Its so affordable and high quality that 90% of my wardrobe is from uniqlo now. I just couldnt bother to buy from any other brand stores now.
I know you aren’t the biggest fan of them but I think A&F definitely deserves to be on this list. I’ve been buying from them regularly since their rebrand to basics a few years ago, and they have only gotten better over time. Their quality is superb and they run sales quite often to where I’ve gotten some nice pieces for a great price.
First time I’ve agreed with you. And not entirely. Uniqlo is the best affordable brand indeed, BUT they still have room for improvement on the ethical side.
Cos is the winner for me. Though, I have to admit that certain collections don’t work for me either and I have to skip them until they make smth I like. I’ve been buying from Cos for the past 10-11 years and those items would always grab attention due to unusual cuts. It’s a pity 😅 that it got so popular in the past few years and now you can see more Cos lovers. As for Uniqlo it makes good basics but their shops (and collections) differ from country to country. I’ve been buying from Uniqlo while living in Asia and now in Europe. It’s just quite different 😄
Arket hands down the best, but I do buy pieces from all these brands occasionally. I am enjoying Massimo Dutti a lot these days I would put them in a bracket similar to Arket/COS
I love Weekday, even though they are a bit higher on the price range with their clothing compared to H&M. But since launch the quality has gotten worse. Not just Weekday, but most clothes mow days are shite, especially with the stitches and with the buttons, it’s not made to last. Like the buttons aren’t sown on properly so they will fall off after the first few wears. Super annoying as I don’t know how to do buttons nor do I have a sewing machine as with newer ones they have this feature where you can sow on buttons. Besides that both Zara and Weekday still discriminates against plus sized people. Weekday only makes tops/jackets/coats in big sizes, but their bottoms and pants/trousers are seldom wearable if you’re big, unless they’re joggers/sweatpants. Zara doesn’t make plus size clothes at all. I used to wear Zara when I was skinny back in high school. I like Cos and Arket, but wouldn’t call them “affordable”. It’s basically Zara, but higher quality and more expensive… also because most brand no longer make products in leather anymore, clothes like biker jackets or “leather” jackets now feels cheap. Jack & Jones makes faux leather jackets that feel more premium… H&M too has fallen in quality compared to the past as a kid, when I used to only wear their clothes as that’s what we had. I’m poor btw. Arket and Cos are the high end brands from H&M. I didn’t know this until recently. Fun fact: in the western Germanic languages like Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish, except in English, Arket means: “paper sheet”🤣🤣🤣 And I dunno about Swedish and Danish, but in Norwegian Cos aka Kos means “cozy/snuggle”🤭👀🤷🏾♀️ Weekday has great quality outerwear especially coats and jackets. Even the synthetic knitted sweaters/jumpers are super warm. Their bombers not so much, but depends on what you layer it with. I especially love their hoodies if thick and 100% cotton. Wear them all year round.
I really like uniqlo. I have several items from them, including a coat. That being said, I feel like often times they are a bit too basic. They rarely offer any highlight pieces. Harry, have you ever heard of Mango? What do you think about it?
My personal approach: go Cos, sort out all the pieces screaming 'edgy fashion!' a little loud. Still interesting, wearable the same time and a little less boring than most pieces by Arket. It's a pity they increased prices lately, at least in Europe, esp. knitwear. These are now a good part above Arkets.
7:47 ... Inside Zara stores you can see that there are different qualitty tiers. Normally you can see it by the areas where the cloths are, the materials are not just from poliéster and of course the price tags are usually higher 😅
Great brands. However I wish jcrew, Abercrombie and fitch, gap/old navy were included as well. I also think that the tie bar makes amazing shirts but you might not be able to get it in the uk
I have the totally opposite experience with HM and Zara, I find Zara to have a way better quality than HM, I've bought just a few pieces there and all of them ended in the bin after a few washes
Great overview mate, will try to get an arket overshirt here in Germany. Unfortunately they do not have stores nearby. I feel that I did grow out of H&M, very seldom i do find there something to wear, it’s currently more or less Uniqlo for me. Have a great Sunday afternoon 😊🙏🏻
Thanks mate. I always order everything in online so sounds like the same situation as you. They have free returns too so all good. Have a good rest of your Sunday mate
Uniqlo - best quality, low price, for classic designs. Zara - best designs. Quality is acceptable but some pieces I got has the colour faded after washing and the colors got on my other clothes. Can be a bit pricey
Spot on with all of this; personally find that Arket's knitwear has been decent quality, esp. their pieces that are 70-100% wool (then again, they're at the higher end of things price-wise due to having more natural fibers I guess!); overall, I think Uniqlo at the moment has the best longevity to price ratio out of the bunch, followed by Arket and then Cos. Great vid again!
Thank you very much mate. Glad you enjoyed it. I’m sure the knitwear will last from Arket but wish they would do something a little more exciting sometimes in that area. Then again, they aren’t trying to be anything other than providing simple pieces
I really like Arket but I've noticed that their clothes tend to get a lot shorter after washing. I had this effect both with a sweatshirt and with heavyweight t-shirts, didn't you?
@@ftuivgol no. My heavyweight t shirts are exactly the same as when I bought them. I wear and wash them every week. What colour did you get out of interest because my black tees are actually nicer quality than a white one I got from them. How hot are you washing and are you putting them in the dryer?
@@HarryHas i had 3 black t shirts and each one got shorter, also my black relaxed sweatshirt. Actually i bought them on Zalando because they were on sale. I always wash my clothes at 30 degrees. It is really sad because i love the brand and at first the quality seems to be high.
@@ftuivgol that’s a shame. I have washed mine a lot on 40 degrees and had no problem with shrinkage. Not sure what happened with yours compared to mine. The only thing I can think of is if Zalando had an older version of the tee?
In Europe you really should check out Bonne Gueule, a french brand that makes low stocks on very high end affordable goods, they also have a youtube channel for some backstory of some of their pieces but here the goal its to first get ALL the history of the products materials and where they are made for a total transparency, its ethical, and the quality is superbe for a FAIR price and goods that you’ll keep for decades.
Forgot to mention but the style overall it’s pretty classic yet meticulously designed for a quiet luxury style, i think they spot on the perfect every men style, you surely find more than one product that will fit your taste as they not re invent the wheel but go over every classic styles and designs.
Uniqlo AIRism T-shirt looks good in form, but I think to keep it clean and price down, as well as resistant to wrinkles, they mix polyester with a high proportion that I feel uncomfortable, hot, bad sweat-absorbing.
Zara has definitely improved in quality recently - in men's anyway. Looking at the womens stuff with my girlfriend and the quality is shocking in comparison, especially considering they charge similar prices to (if not more than) the mens
On Zara, they often come out with some special edition pieces which are quite good. Last year they did a collab with Studio Nicholson and I got a hoodie from that line and it’s head and shoulders above a regular Zara hoodie. But overall, I would crown Cos. Also, Arket has the best classic leather shoes.
I wish Arket had fit pics too! The only store near me was Bluewater and that’s closed now I think so it’s online or nothing and if postage and returns aren’t free then I’m not ordering something unless I’m 100% sure it’s a keeper.
Great video! I think I shop at UNIQLO too much and need to broaden my horizons, so this video was perfect for that. The fact that they don't use regular waist and length sizes is very frustrating, I completely agree.
about Zara, I have a friend that works there, and he says the quality of the material has actually decreased, but to be fair, if you wash on cold and air dry, I havent had any piece fall apart or anything like that, only problem, might be trousers and the insems
I don’t buy stuff for Zara, Pull & Bear and Bershka anymore. It’s exactly what you say - they look good, stylish but after one wash it’s not the same item anymore. I don’t trust Zara Group anymore. H&M is cheaper and while not great, at least you get what you pay for. Weekday, COS and Arket are miles ahead, Zara can only wish they had this quality. But the issue I have wish all these pricier brands(COS, Arket, Uniqlo as well now) is that for the same amount of money you can get stuff from brands like Vans, Converse, Dickies, Carhartt but I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
Many of my uniqlo pieces lasted a long time due to quality fabric and trend less style. I only retire them when I “upgrade” to more luxury stuff when I get the resources. I can’t say the same for COS despite being more expensive. Some of the fabrics aren’t nice and I got rid of the trendy ones.
A small marathon session of watching 13 videos in a row. I’m slowly getting into Arket, although you do need to check what sort of fit the item is. Zara, from what I see with both male and female colleagues is that they have return or change things often and I hear the staff is not so friendly.
@@HarryHas You’ve got a soothing voice. Also, I like watching fashion related content at the end of seasons/ trends, so I can make my own mind up, rather than being turned off by things I see being worn around by lots of people.
I look at the materials before I order now at Zara, so my experience hasn’t been too terrible. The origins collection and their other brand, Massimo Dutti has much better quality and most pieces use quality fabrics. I don’t recommend their trousers for anyone above 6’0” since it’s quite short
Selected Homme / Cuts Clothing are 2 you might want to check out, but I have a feeling neither will fit your aesthetic or style. Selected is more formal, and Cuts more leisurewear. UTY.
TBH it is first for me to hear that someone states Zara is not pretty good quality and worse than H&M? I've had plenty of stuff from Zara throughout the years. Usually the fit is great for me at least, materials are pretty good and they usually last me a good while. Definitely feels like a big step up from H&M in the quality department. Harry have you tried Massimo Dutti and MANGO?
Abercrombie & Fitch have improved like crazy over the last few years and for trousers are probably the best of the bunch compared to the ones above because they offer so many sizes and colours. Worth adding to the list for the next review imo. Pull&Bear is also a sort of slept on one, they're like a cheaper Weekday imo but maybe not as good.
@@pr33tu_ well this is the thing... If we are talking about affordable basics then material us usually the main thing that changes the price. So you will always struggle to simultaneously find great materials for affordable prices. If you're talking about great products despite lower quality materials then I think A&F fits the bill pretty well. And if you look at brands like Folk or other mid/high end basics, they often have blend fabrics too but for lile 100% the cost. Pick your demon I guess haha
What do you think of the brand selected homme? I never hear anyone talking about this brand but they got some nice stuff! (Also another great video idea, keep that streak going)
Hi Harry, thanks for the great content. Being an Indian, we have marks and Spencers as a very popular brand over here. Nd since you are from the UK, please do one video on marks and Spencers, it makes sense and Indians would love to know about your take on the brand and also looking for some recommendations from u on it. I think that ara especially shines in jackets. I love their coats, puffers, etc. I think that they have some great pieces overall, but some are just horrible, for example I had a sweter from them and I loved it but I've tried on some hoodies and they were just awful.
What do you think about Pull&Bear, Bershka, Primark and Mango? Concerning the brands of this video, I like both Arket and COS, but I would say they are not positioned in the same way as the other ones from this list as they are considerably more expensive than H&M or Zara for example. About Zara, their "origins" collection has some good quality clothes that are worth trying, but they are also more pricey. I got one 100% cashmere sweater from the origins collection that I am very happy with. Nice content always!
We need a international version that ships international 🥹, like here in india we have uniqlo and zara and H&M H&M and uniqlo are quite affordable and zara is considered a upper class brand here and is more expensive than the rest of the
I work in Zara, but the store doesn’t have the men’s section. Anyway, everyday I do touch and see a lot of items (cause I mainly do the tray-work) and, to be honest, I would check thrice before buying it 😂 (But I did but our men’s jacket which is a twin-brother of Carhartt Detroit because I’m kinda broke 😂)

Can be a bit pricey
i like zara's jeans and pants tho. they don't cost too much and they do a reasonable job for everyday wear.
PULL&BEAR is my 100% go to
Spot on with all of this; personally find that Arket's knitwear has been decent quality, esp. their pieces that are 70-100% wool (then again, they're at the higher end of things price-wise due to having more natural fibers I guess!); overall, I think Uniqlo at the moment has the best longevity to price ratio out of the bunch, followed by Arket and then Cos.
Uniqlo, Onitsuka, Casio, Toyota... most of already know who'll be the winner 🤣
I'll say for my body type I've found quite a lot of good pants in the men's section at h&m.
I buy perfumes and jackets from zara, even pants sometimes they are pretty good to be honest
Uniqlo AIRism T-shirt looks good in form, but I think to keep it clean and price down, as well as resistant to wrinkles, they mix polyester with a high proportion that I feel uncomfortable, hot, bad sweat-absorbing.
have you ever tried Massimo Dutti? They are around COS prices and quality/fits are awesome
I’ve heard mixed things about them and I like to do my research before buying anything from a brand. I’ll look into them more though
Zara has definitely improved in quality recently - in men's anyway.
Looking at the womens stuff with my girlfriend and the quality is shocking in comparison, especially considering they charge similar prices to (if not more than) the mens
I never bought something from Cos, will have a look at it.
🤟
On Zara, they often come out with some special edition pieces which are quite good. Last year they did a collab with Studio Nicholson and I got a hoodie from that line and it’s head and shoulders above a regular Zara hoodie.
But overall, I would crown Cos.
Also, Arket has the best classic leather shoes.
Yeah, I saw that collection. Was quite surprised to see it to be honest. Glad you like your hoodie
Lookin forward to a harry has video somehow never leaves me disappointed , top quality content . Always worth the wait
Appreciate it mate. Thank you for watching 🙏
I wish Arket had fit pics too! The only store near me was Bluewater and that’s closed now I think so it’s online or nothing and if postage and returns aren’t free then I’m not ordering something unless I’m 100% sure it’s a keeper.
I have no stores that close to me either. Luckily Arket do free returns 🤟
I’m not sure whether you have it in the UK, but Massimo Dutti is another brand with decent basics in my opinion
We do. Not sure about them yet. Heard a lot of mixed things. Need to do my research on them
Great video!
I didn’t think it could get much worse from when I last got anything
Maybe next time you can review the bershka and pull&bear brand. Btw really solid video
Haha, the two brothers description was spot on. Though I think cos has really started to increase their prices quite recently.
Glad to hear it mate. They definitely have. I noticed that too, but then again, which brand hasn’t? Thanks for watching dude
Nice Video Harry! Interesting what you said about Zara. I actually think their smashing it again atm! 🙂
Another brilliant video, you are essential viewing for me. A worthy winner in my book!
Thanks a lot mate 🙏
Many of my uniqlo pieces lasted a long time due to quality fabric and trend less style. I only retire them when I “upgrade” to more luxury stuff when I get the resources. I can’t say the same for COS despite being more expensive. Some of the fabrics aren’t nice and I got rid of the trendy ones.
i have some knits from zara and they looks amazing after a year of a good worn
Good to hear
A small marathon session of watching 13 videos in a row. I’m slowly getting into Arket, although you do need to check what sort of fit the item is. Zara, from what I see with both male and female colleagues is that they have return or change things often and I hear the staff is not so friendly.
I’ve heard that too. Another reason it puts me off
And wow! 13 videos in a row. Surely you are sick of me by now? Haha
@@HarryHas You’ve got a soothing voice. Also, I like watching fashion related content at the end of seasons/ trends, so I can make my own mind up, rather than being turned off by things I see being worn around by lots of people.
@@peadar-o thanks mate and not a bad idea
here in Mexico theres this brand called George. they make everything and its all 100% cotton. its like uniqlo of Mexico.
Aren’t they the brand owned by ASDA?
Can you make a video about how you do laundry and how you take care of your clothes
Love everything as always! Can you show what goes into your makeup bag *amzclothes* ?
I look at the materials before I order now at Zara, so my experience hasn’t been too terrible. The origins collection and their other brand, Massimo Dutti has much better quality and most pieces use quality fabrics. I don’t recommend their trousers for anyone above 6’0” since it’s quite short
Totally agreed. Luv your realistic comparison..
Pleased to hear dude. Thanks for watching
Selected Homme / Cuts Clothing are 2 you might want to check out, but I have a feeling neither will fit your aesthetic or style. Selected is more formal, and Cuts more leisurewear. UTY.
we need a mid range list next
I could do a mid one at some point
It took this video for me to realise that the +J logo forms a U 🤔 Good one as always Harry!
Thank you mate
TBH it is first for me to hear that someone states Zara is not pretty good quality and worse than H&M? I've had plenty of stuff from Zara throughout the years. Usually the fit is great for me at least, materials are pretty good and they usually last me a good while. Definitely feels like a big step up from H&M in the quality department.
Harry have you tried Massimo Dutti and MANGO?
Where’s the black waffle top you’re wearing in the commentary from mate?
Linked in the description bro
Abercrombie & Fitch have improved like crazy over the last few years and for trousers are probably the best of the bunch compared to the ones above because they offer so many sizes and colours. Worth adding to the list for the next review imo.
Pull&Bear is also a sort of slept on one, they're like a cheaper Weekday imo but maybe not as good.
I’m still not sure how to feel about them personally
@georgegoldie7007 A&F trousers have pretty bad material selection, just a quick look and all I see is polyester, viscose, and elastane blends.
@@HarryHas in terms of their history/reputation?
Pull and bear suck. I bought three joggers together from them a few months back. All of their side pocket zippers fell out on the first wear. lol.
What do you think of the brand selected homme? I never hear anyone talking about this brand but they got some nice stuff! (Also another great video idea, keep that streak going)
a potential video idea: underrated fashion brands
I only use Uniqlo for the socks these days, mid to late 2010’s they were amazing in terms of quality, now not so much.
If you can recommend any brands at a similar price point that offers better quality stuff then let us know 🤟
Hi Harry, thanks for the great content. Being an Indian, we have marks and Spencers as a very popular brand over here. Nd since you are from the UK, please do one video on marks and Spencers, it makes sense and Indians would love to know about your take on the brand and also looking for some recommendations from u on it. Thanks
For me h and m has a great fit as i'm just 19 years old and also affordable 🙂
I think that ara especially shines in jackets. I love their coats, puffers, etc. I think that they have some great pieces overall, but some are just horrible, for example I had a sweter from them and I loved it but I've tried on some hoodies and they were just awful.
I suppose it’s like a lot of brands really. You always get some pieces that are better than others.
The quality is going to be very questionable with those brands so I leave them alone
Couple uk brands I recently found out about are universal works and olive
I like universal works but I’ve heard some mixed things in Olive
Make a Zara video to check some of their stuff out and see if they improved
Couldn´t agree less about Zara!!!
I am personally also a big fan of the pants from massimo duti, have you had experience with them?
I have heard mixed things about them and some that’s put me off. Need to do more research before I buy anything I think
Brilliant content, my dude.
Totally agreed what he said about zara
We need a international version that ships international 🥹, like here in india we have uniqlo and zara and H&M
H&M and uniqlo are quite affordable and zara is considered a upper class brand here and is more expensive than the rest of the
I don't know if you have this in the Uk or not but C&A is my favorite affordable brand.
I don’t think I’ve heard of them
@@HarryHasC&A was a huge European brand. They exited the UK market YEARS ago, probably the early 90’s I’d say. Man I’m old lol
Great video, Harry. What are your thoughts on Everlane?
Thanks mate. I think the prices went too high for what they are offering to be honest. It’s a little too basic if that makes sense?
Your little "see ya later" at the end of the video absolutely makes my day. Love your content mate!
Love your Chanel. *Slightly annoyed at J W Anderson’s latest collaboration with Uniqlo. Lots of polyester 👎
Thank you very much dude. There wasn’t a whole lot I liked in that drop to be fair. I did like the trench coat but I have one similar from Arket
Uniqlo basically got everything I need
I work in Zara, but the store doesn’t have the men’s section. Anyway, everyday I do touch and see a lot of items (cause I mainly do the tray-work) and, to be honest, I would check thrice before buying it 😂
(But I did but our men’s jacket which is a twin-brother of Carhartt Detroit because I’m kinda broke 😂)
Zara Origins Collection + Uniqlo U 👍
COS chinos are the best, but also double the price of UNIQLO
