    I've been binge watching your videos and think you've cracked the colour code. It explains why as a draped light summer colour type in seasonal colour analysis, I have a weird aversion to wearing red purples and feel blah in them, even though they are on the cool side of the colour wheel, and I "should" be able to wear them. Now I look back on selfies and see that in all the ones I like, I am wearing colours that suit the red root colour types (blues). These are also the items in my closet I wear the most even if they don't match my level of chroma. Thank-you! I hope your hard work is rewarded by much success in your colour career!

    Fascinating explanations! Could you elaborate a little bit more on root skin color…. and how Oprah’s is different . The other two have 1. Red root skin color and the complementary best color is the green… 2. The yellow root skin color has the beautiful complementary purple as a good color… Why would Oprah’s root skin color not be orange with the blue as complementary best color? Thanks so much.

    • @ellaraystyle
      @ellaraystyle  9 месяцев назад +2

      Orange is the complementary color of blue and vice versa. You could say her root skin color is orange but then it wouldn´t help you understand concepts around blue that will play a role in various settings and lighting (that other colors don´t have). Seeing it in reverse with blue has advantages in recognizing color principles/rules and harmony and avoiding wrong colors.
      If you take it even more detailed there are more than 3 root skin colors as it is more like a spectrum and there are also transition types lying in between various root skin color types.
      To present a clear and understandable method I have to reduce my presentation to basic principles while leaving out the complex details like calculations and the science behind it (for now) and reserve that for those who want to learn my entire system in a course.
      Does that answer your question, Susan?

      Thank you. For the analysis on clients I ask them to send me specific images done in a specific way to make sure the colors match reality as much as possible.
      I also ask them to send in more pictures, random ones of them in different lighting and settings and I study them for lighting and how their coloring behaves.
      So I don´t rely only on one picture.
      Same for the celebrity case studies.
      I choose the most natural image available and study around 100 pictures of them before I do the analysis.
      With this variety it is easier to understand someone´s color type.
      As there are also certain color harmony rules and probabilities as well as rules of how color frequencies behave (in your hair, eyes, and skin) in certain settings (from a scientific perspective) I can see the right colors even when seeing a person in wrong colors and lighting and even if the screen or device doesn´t represent the colors correctly.
      I can see any level of makeup, filters, when a picture has been retouched or edited (saturation, brightness, contrast, etc.), or color-graded and calculate the real color.

    I feel like your system is very misunderstood by most people who watch your videos, unfortunately. It is hard to grasp for some people. But to me it makes total sense. Especially now that you explained so well what the term "root color" really means. At the moment I am only going by guessing, but it already explains why I do love wearing certain colors while other colors make me feel physically sick (despite being in my seasonal color palette). I've always suspected that it's the wavelength and energetic level of the colors - which is probably the problem for most people, hard to get a hold of - I absolutely love purple and feel at home wearing it, it's almost irrelevant how deep or light the purple is, it is mostly important that it IS purple. For ANY other color it has to be a very specific shade, tint or tone of that color. And blue is the color I HATE wearing the most (next is pink, unless it's bordering peach and is very light or soft). For blue, only a specific shade of a softly muted teal blue is a tone I do like wearing, but if it is just slightly the wrong tone, I feel like it makes me look oddly sick. And while a pure red is not feeling THE worst, a yellow based, lighter and softer red feels perfect while a true red feels a bit like pulling me in the wrong direction internally. I do have a warm green in my energetic signature (aura) though and I feel great in certain shades of green, but not in all of them. It's the only "odd" color in my aura, the others are all based on purple (plus white).
    I don't know if it's interesting and "helpful" to read, what I write, but I am just trying to explain, what I observed throughout the years of my overall journey. To me, everything is somewhat tied together, so it makes total sense that the wavelengths and frequencies of your own genetically set colors, the wavelengths of your energetic signature and the wavelengths of the colors surrounding you are linked or at least have and effect on each other. I feel that also explains why I feel best when surrounded by black and white (these are like pure absolution to me - black contains all physical colors and reflects NO spectral colors while white contains all spectral colors but absorbs no color, to me that's like neutrality, no interference, maybe that's wrong, I am fine if one wants to correct and teach me about how it actually is) and can only tolerate certain greens and purples in my apartment. For example: My boyfriend bought a pink glass tray for decorations and I HATE it. He got the exact same tray in purple, which I love. Looking at the pink tray makes me feel sick. I don't know if I am extremely sensitive to color or if other people just lost that ability due to the way they were raised/pushed to live like.
    I would be very interested in hearing about your own journey, how you felt about certain colors throughout your life and how they did affect the way you feel physically. Maybe even a vlog about how you got into any type of color theory. Unless you already have videos about that, if so, I am truly sorry. I haven't gotten to watch all your videos just yet. The past few days... weeks were very busy and hectic.
    BTW I am stoked to talk to my mom about your system, I bet she will be as fascinated by it as I am. Because seasonal color analysis doesn't feel quite right for her either (she's also very sensitive to colors and their energy and I suspect her root skin color is blue, but not sure).

      There is a small percentage of the population who have a different type of cell in their retina that allows them to see colour slightly differently. I can’t remember the details but I will try and look it up.

    • @ellaraystyle
      @ellaraystyle  10 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, you're probably referring to a phenomenon known as tetrachromacy. Tetrachromats are people who possess four types of cone cells in their retinas, compared to the three types that are typical in most humans. These cone cells are responsible for detecting different wavelengths of light and are essential for color vision.
      In the general population, most people are trichromats, meaning they have three types of cone cells sensitive to short (blue), medium (green), and long (red) wavelengths of light. Tetrachromats, on the other hand, have an additional type of cone cell that allows them to perceive a broader spectrum of colors. This is because they have enhanced sensitivity to certain wavelengths, giving them the ability to discern more subtle differences in hues.

    Quick question, you many have answered this in a previous video, but I’m noticing that your method makes more sense than the seasonal color analysis. Is this just because that method only focuses on undertone, hair and eye color?

    • @ellaraystyle
      @ellaraystyle  10 месяцев назад +2

      The seasonal color analysis was developed decades ago when we didn't know that much about colors, human skin and the science of color harmony.
      So it focused on undertones (which is an outdated term and way to describe skin), hair and eye color.
      It is a generic and thus flawed way to find colors which leaves so many people frustrated with the colors they get.
      My method goes much deeper into the reality and science of color, skin (not undertones), color harmony and even healing.
      I love how this enables me to find precise colors (because they can be calculated) so that my clients are happy, radiant, and healthy with them.
      It's great to hear that you find my method makes more sense than the seasonal color analysis.

      If green has the most harmony with your skin tone without any dissonance it means your Root Skin Color is most likely Red.
      However, there are also transition types that would have a different Root Skin Color and set of best colors who also have maximum harmony with green.
      It is important to analyze your color type as a whole to exclude certain Root Skin Colors and not base your conclusion on one color alone (green).

    Hi Ella. I am very confused by this video. You said that you cannot rely on your eyes only for color analysis and you instead use science. However, it seems like you *do* use your eyes only to determine someone's root skin color upon which every other step iin this video is based. What's more is that the chakra system may be *inspired* by elements of quantum phsyics, but it's not the same as quantum physics. There is nothing scientific about chakra - and that is okay. It just feels odd to me that you seem to equate those two things. In fact, I cannot detect a single scientific method in this entire video (method, as in how you test for things, not theory). You look at a person, determine their root skin color which you yourself called "approximate skin tone" - something that you have "observed", not tested, using any scientific method. I'm not saying this method doesn't work - it very well might. I'm just saying it's not a scientific method. I'm not pointing this out just to be negative or because I have any agenda, but I am worried that other people are gonna be mislead.

    • @ellaraystyle
      @ellaraystyle  9 месяцев назад +1

      The purpose of the channel is not to teach you my entire method (you can't expect a brand to reveal all their secrets and formulas, those are protected by copyright, trademarks, patents, etc.)
      If someone wants to learn the entire method (including calculations, physics and quantum physics behind it) it is best done within the upcoming course including a certification that allows them to use my method.
      A lot of people will not understand what I am doing because it is not for everybody. And I don't expect my audience to be interested in the scientific details (which is why I keep them rather general) as the majority just wants me to find their best colors for them. And that's the main goal of this channel.

    • @louibeans
      @louibeans 9 месяцев назад +3

      @@ellaraystyle Hi, thanks for responding. I don't mind the fact that you are not sharing the entire method in detail. I do realize this is a business, so it wouldn't make sense for you to teach everyone the specifics of the service you are offering. Having said that, there is a difference between giving a broad overview over the steps going into it and teaching everyone how those calculations work. You can definitely give people a rough idea without revealing your entire technique. For example, you mention calculations now, and I'm not sure if you mentioned that in the video. Maybe you did and I just don't recall. I think the fact that some people may not understand this analysis has less to do with it not being 'for everyone' and more with the lack of basic information on the entire process. You know? Like a hair dresser giving you a basic understanding of the steps they're going to do without teaching you how to cut/color your own hair.

    • @ellaraystyle
      @ellaraystyle  9 месяцев назад

      I understand. In the first videos I mentioned that. I have to make decisions with every video what I teach and what might be too much or overwhelming.
      I try to keep it short - 10 minutes - for the case studies and go deeper in the science videos which are longer.
      There I can explain more details and there is so much to explain that it is normal to overwhelm some of my audience while bore others who are further in their color journey.
      What I always try to do is answer questions to the best of my ability.
      So the more detailed a question is the better I can answer it in the comments or in a video.
      My list of requests for videos/topics is booked out for the next months which is crazy and exciting at the same time!
      It´s beautiful to see how interested people are in color and style.
      I hope to reach a level on this channel where everyone can find the most accurate answers to all their questions related to color, color analysis, style, and beauty - like a library.
      With a little patience we will get there. If you feel invited you are welcome to hang out and enjoy the journey.
