I think that Netflix’s cobra Kai is awesome and can’t wait for the final season. Daniel and Johnny have taken on some common enemies together, but I’m sure that it still burns inside Johnny’s mind the way he suffered the defeat at the hands of Daniel 40 years prior. The rivalry between the two is still very much alive and hopefully we will find out once and for all who is the best.

He sincerely congratulated Daniel and handed him the trophy. If you're going to point to anything in the first film, it would be losing Ali. That was his first love and losing the fight didn't change anything. If he had won they still don't get back together. He would have had a hollow victory against an injured opponent who his teammate intentionally inflicted with an illegal move. His mom still dies and he still goes in a downward spiral. If still had Ali then he would have had someone to emotionally support him. He didn't have anyone.
