The problem with this movie was that this was the THIRD movie. By now, Daniel should have been much better at karate. He looked more inept than he looked in the first movie. And I'm not just talking about the tournament. All of the confrontations leading up to this tournament, Daniel looked like a beginner again. It made no sense.
Agreed. By this time he should be good enough to take on someone like this. What’s he been working up to at this point? He just gets mullered at every instance.
He suffered the Pikachu effect.
So true
i`m agree with you
Ralph Macchio also said it himself he was not happy with how the script came out.
It’s okay to lose to opponent it’s not okay to lose to fear. That hit so hard. Exactly what I needed
Survived a fight to the death with one of the greatest karate masters in the world and get pummeled by Barnes nice
Mike was clearly better than Chozen.
Barnes was a national champion and above Chozen, that’s pretty obvious. He was famous in magazines across America, Chozen was a big fish in a small pond.
It seemed like Daniel regressed! This movie was written horribly! By this movie Daniel should have been a much better martial artist.
Barnes used to fear to beat Daniel. Once Daniel wasn't afraid any more, he beat him in one quick move.
@@samuelriccobono9278 , yep that’s absolutely true and Barnes shouldn’t have been talking all that trash. He got too overconfident.
"hit em Mike he's hallucinating" 😂😂😂
The best line
This should have been karate kid 2,and the third against Chozen in Okinawa, would have made much more sense
Yeah. I saw a review in imdb, it made so much sense. Daniel after a literal fight to the death had no backbone or confidence in this movie. Barnes shouldn't scare Daniel
@@nindschagaming
Its the psychological games that Silver and Barnes did to Daniel. Also, unlike with Chozen, Daniel stood zero chance against Barnes in a street fight, and he knew that from their first encounter. Daniel really punched him in the face and Barnes just said "Don't do that" like it was straight out of a nightmare.
I think if you went straight from part 1 to this plot, it would feel like they were just repeating the same movie with the same stakes: but this film shouldn’t’ve started with Mike as the superior fight when Daniel had just won a death match.
Daniel should’ve won his first fight with Barnes, and have the superior numbers be the thing that required Miyagi’s intervention. After that, the mind games gradually take their toll. Then here, having spent some time with Mr Miyagi, Daniel wins a point or 2, but ultimately Barnes’ ruthlessness takes its toll again, until finally Miyagi gives Danny the pep talk he needs.
Awwww come on barnes!
I would have....Chozen that order as well.
That line Miyagi said I will never forget: Daniel: it’s over, it’s over. I’m afraid. I’m afraid. Mayagi: it’s okay to lose to opponent must not lose because of fear. Daniel San, you best karate student inside, now time to let out.
This fight was so weak, apparently Daniel forgot EVERYTHING he learned in Japan.
Daniel was horrible, bad casted even Elizabeth Shue called him a wimp and said she could take him for real lol.
Because Terry silver manipulating Daniel to be a wimp
My favorite thing about the karate kid movies is whenever Daniel would randomly start doing kata's mid tourney
Terry: ...If you get, you give.
That Guy: *YEAH*
😂😂😂😂 Bring back THAT guy in Season 6!
Terry's mindset and personality terrify the heck out of me.
After listening to Terry Silver's opening speech about opening up multiple dojos, he was finally able to accomplish that in Cobra Kai S5, but (1) it didn't last long and (2) he knew Kreese would become a potential obstacle.
Daniel relied on plot armour, if Silver didn't make it go to sudden death Mike would have won 3-0 easily, Daniel flipping a national champion lol yeah right, now his daughter Sam has plot armour too.
Daniel
Daniel Starts doing Ballet and Barnes is taken back so much by the wussiness of it all that he doesn't know how to respond 🤣
Daniel was 28 years old here
Yup😂
Silver 27.
@@mikaelpersaud5094 that’s actually mental!
Daniel won the tournament even though the ref was paid in favor of Cobra Kai. Impressive.
The ref was not paid what are you talking about dude
@@ToroBravo144
Silver said earlier in the movie that he's gonna bribe the jury
@@ToroBravo144 In Cobra Kai season 4, Silver bribed the ref to be biased towards Cobra Kai. He was always a wealthy man in KK3 and Cobra Kai. Why wouldn't he do it KK3? He also said earlier in the movie that he would bribe the jury. So logically, it makes sense the Mike Barnes wasn't disqualified for all those illegal hits because Silver wanted the ref to go easy on Mike so that he can prolong Daniel's suffering. The fact Daniel won the tournament against the strongest Karate Kid bully is better than any feat the Cobra Kai teens have.
Daniel only had to fight 1 fight and had plot armour lol 😂
@@alanchamberlain9902 While Daniel only had to fight one fight, we have no proof Barnes was tired from the other fights. If anything, he likely wasn't phased by those and even had time to rest before fighting Daniel.
Plot armor isn't an argument. That excuse can be used for anything so it's insignificant. Mike only dominated a Daniel who wasn't at his best. When Daniel let out his best Karate, he defeated Mike. His AP is shown to be able to hurt Mike, with Mike doubling in pain after the hit while Daniel tanked many of Mike's hits. So technically, Daniel slams and it isn't plot armor.
I feel bad for Daniel he’s going through trauma from cobra Kai!
It’s not Cobra Kai that’s the problem. It’s Kreese and Silver
@@gracecowboy yes it Daniel defeated both of them eventually!
Daniel sucked and still does
To this day
I really Enjoyed this one I think all of em is really good this was the best fight in the Series
bruh Daniel got pummeled the whole time
This movie for its day was a great one especially for kids born in the 80’s, I still watch and enjoy like yesterday
Johnny won 2 years in a row aswell in 1982 and 1983
You know, I enjoyed this movie for what it was. I kinda always thought of it as Daniel never took Karate too seriously and his lack of dicipline showed throughout this movie. He didn't fully understand the purpose of why he was taught it, he still had his ego, pride and silly child-like flaws. I loved the fact that in the end, what Miyagi taught him were basic principles that gave him confidence, he never built on it and the movie never got too deep beyond this. But seeing someone who dedicated himself to being a expert & real bastard (Barnes) vs a kid who learnt some basic karate from a true master never quite grasping what potential he had. Great moment in the end, Daniel shedding the fear, ego and finally accepting the fight and the massive overtuned ego of Barnes (who was probably a better figher) with a terrible Sensei (though we don't really know where he learnt it all.) Not a gr8 movie, but I enjoyed it for what it was, sometimes you meet someone who is a real asshole and better than you :P
“Greatest karate man I have ever known”. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Now if they had told Barnes to fight fairly, he would've won. They screwed themselves over by telling him to keep losing points.
Larusso has plot armor🤣🤣
Daniel San your best karate still inside now time let out. Thats not illusinating thats psyching him him out. Mr Miyiagi we did it.
Daniel should thanks mike barnes for motivating him to beat him lmao
The actor playing as bad boy is better actor by far
Barnes could really win that fight if he wasn't doing all that street fighter
must not lose through fear
So Silver lost here and Daniel took him down in Cobra Kai as did Chosen
We did it!
Basically in any real fight, Daniel would get murdered by barnes
Duh he is a professional cage fighter
Ralph Macchio Vs Sean Kanan
Kanan wins just as easily as he did in the movies, he’s a legitimate martial artist whereas Maccio just learnt a few moves for the script.
Despite coming back with new knowledge from Japan, Daniel's life is thrown off balance thanks to a manipulative karate master and a ruthless opponent. Driving a wedge between him and Mr. Miyagi so Daniel could join Cobra Kai out of desperation to bring out his darker side to break him in the tournament.
Daniel just wore barns out letting him kick his ass
The good old days when Terry and Kreese were the best of friends. Little did they know decades later they would become enemies. John would have never imagined Terry would frame him for a beatdown and then get him sent to prison! Things were better when Terry was hopped up on coke!
Classic
Bro got huge nerf I don’t remember him getting beat this much before like shouldn’t bro be more experienced by now
After all these films he still wasn’t any better at karate
I don't get it, the karate kid got 1 point and the bad guy got like 5. 🤔
he kept losing points so in sudden death first point one it was like 0-0 because he kept hitting larusso more and losing point
larusso is always crying in his matches! what a wuss!!!
Just like his daughter and son, the Cobra Kai writers simp for them.
This movie is 5 years after first one
You can tell, Daniel is much heavier then in the first movie
@@tomdewyn5689 indeed
Looks much older than the Original.
Get up laruso 😃🤲
I like Terry Silver, Kreese and Mike Barnes characters but I thought KK3 was a lousy plot. Its better than the garbage of Chan and Smith. I would have to loved to seen a series about Miyaki as a young man with Yukie and Sato. How he fell in love with his Japanese American wife and how he became a decorated WWII soldier.
So the other guy is making mince meat out of him, then Daniel does a few weird hand movements and the other guy is so amazed and confused by this he loses the ability to fight and Daniel easily defeats him. I get that it's part three and the quality is in the toilet by this point, but what is going on here? Can someone explain this to me?
Uncancer
Daniel got his azzzz Kicked
WW
Terry was talking crap
This movie seems like it’s parodying part 1
This isn't a good film but the writing for Daniel was the most disappointing thing about it in my opinion, I find it hard to believe this is Daniel after the first tournament and Okinawa stuff, can't really explain why but yeah.

Very anticlimactic ending to an overall weak movie.
best karate kid ending ever
This was the worst movie. Daniel was so whiny the entire time. Gets his ass kicked the whole movie, like he forgot completely how to fight. Abandons Mr. Miyagi for a clearly slimy looking dude, but still ends up getting bailed out by Miyagi. Only has to fight one fight in the tournament while Mike Barnes has to fight all day. Doesn't lose the match in regulation only because Barnes carries him the entire time. Then in sudden death, he does one flip, a chop, and keeps his title. How on earth can you have any sympathy whatsoever for Daniel in this movie? Then, with Barnes, he's kicking people in the nuts all day apparently, kept cheap shotting Daniel in the finals. Like, this is supposedly a tournament with kids. No youth tournament is going to allow a competitor to cheap shot more than once before they get kicked out of the tournament. It was just silly.
