The idea that I’m going to pay these prices and not have heated seats or steering wheel is utterly ridiculous. There’s no rebates there’s no incentives there’s nothing its pay sticker or go away. Or go online build and order a Vehicle pay MSRP and you might get in six months. And in my opinion Toyota should not screw their customers over and I am a Toyota owner if they’re not going to have any Sequoia’s available then they should stop saying available summer 2022 and give us a real date instead

Looks great. I was afraid it will have the same dropping grill like the Tundra, but no!. They balanced the height-width ratio perfectly. If I was looking for a larger SUV, then this would be it!
We were 'lucky' to get pop up glass in the tailgate. The new LX 600 and Land Cruiser don't even get that! I will be shocked if the next 4Runner retains the feature.

I never though I would say this about a Toyota, but this is actually a desirable design. Nothing too original here, but a good balance of proportions and lines that works pretty well. Toyota is not known for innovation, but they do have the reliability equation in their favor. This is one of the very few Toyotas I would consider if I were in the market. One of those and a Yaris GR would suit me fine. In fact, a GR should come as a perk for setting aside 50+k for the Sequoia. I know you have connections, so please beg them to bring the GR to the states!

A lot of vowels? Sequoia has ALL the vowels! The first generation Sequoia also had a sliding/reclining/folding/tumbling/removable third row. Looks like the LC got absorbed into the high trim model. People were begging for a more afordable LC. Here it is!
Tom, Did they switch to the sold rear axle to improve off-road capability or did they do it to save the expense of developing another bespoke independent rear suspension? I will certainly give TMC credit for going all Hybrid. It is still a little strange they did not do that with the Corolla Cross.

LC was discontinued because it became the Lexus LX 600 in our market. That's been in the works for years. Toyota had a hard time moving such an expensive truck in the US. Lexus didn't. Only makes sense.

At first glance, I like it. I'm wondering if it will serve as a reasonable alternative to those who aspire to have a (now discontinued) Land Cruiser, but, won't go near the over-grilled Lexus version.
The sequoia hybrid is really the land cruiser replacement more then the sequoia replacement. I also think they will come later with a L version because the new one is smaller then the current sequoia.
I love the design but with the front facia was a bit different to make it more SUV like and not truck like. I think the Captstone will be my choice as I come out of my Infiniti QX56

Well done. Heavier than the Tundra, fuel economy will likely be in the 17-20 mpg range. I think Toyota has forgotten that GM has the 3.0l diesel in their comparable SUVs to the Sequoya getting 24-29mpg

Why Toyota needed to be forced by regulations of certain states in the USA, Japan, China, UK, most countries of Europe to bring its marvelous HEV into huge SUV while the company could have done it 20 years ago when technology was already mature in its Prius in 2001?

I've driven different Lexus loaner hybrid cars and the hybrid technology is only a gimmick. In this huge SUV rest assured the hybrid power train will consume more fuel compared to a none hybrid Tundra. The car is heavier and most of the time it's the engine running at normal speeds. The part I hate about hybrids is how slow and gentle you have to be on the accelerator to get the car move up to 25 mph, which no one can drive it like that anywhere, 99.99% of the time you'll drive normally which immediately kicks in the gas engine.
I don’t like that Toyota uses a twin turbo 6 cylinder on a large suv, I can see quicker wear and tear while towing, I rather have a V8 natural aspirated like GM Tahoe.
I'm probably on the losing team, but I'm not a big fan of these huge tablets manufacturers are sticking to the dash of every cat these days. There doesn't even seem to be any effort on integrating them into the design. Almost looks like they just stuck it with duct tape to the dash on top of whatever was there.
and no mention of the word WAGON which is surely what the body style is. :) Gotta love the marketing people who have persuaded the public that wagons are no longer passè then they sell them the same thing slightly jacked up. but called it an SUV. :)
It isn’t slightly jacked up. This is a body on frame vehicle using the same frame and drivetrain from the Tundra pickup, along with much of the suspension. This is a truck, not a unibody crossover.

They also dropped the split tailgate on the new LX 600. Strangely, the Sequoia gets pop up tailgate glass when the LX does not.

Land Cruiser was never discontinued. It's extremely popular outside US. The new 2022 models have already flooded the streets

Liking this car a lot, but the TRD Pro doesn’t look to have a lot of ground clearance.
I feel like getting the TRD off road and getting a 2 inch lift after market is going to be the way to go.
I'll assume the TRD lift kit that's available for Tundra will work on this.

Power, especially low end torque plus towing ability. And that comes with no loss in fuel efficiency (maybe a slight increase, we'll see).

Disappointed at that fuel economy from a hybrid, particularly considering what's happening to fuel prices.
Hasn't been announced by the EPA. That was speculation based on what Car and Driver experienced. But it isn't going to be 40 MPG.
