Dude- No one with a brain is impressed by 'purposeful director's cuts' that include scenes that should have been in theatrical version. It doesn't get anyone. It makes you think why they chose moments over other moments to be in their theatrical cut?
And Zack Snyder wants to do four more movies. Please no....

I didn’t think I’d watch a film worse than Argylle this year, well Rebel Moon Part 2 takes the cake.
I'm going to point out that Zack Snyder's good movies have all been based on previous material, and his bad movies are his "original" creations.
I actually like Sucker Punch... at least the action is memorable, stylish, looks cool and high budget.

I read a story today that that scene was originally in Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League 2 and that he repurposed it for this film.
I stopped watching there when that scene began.

I always looked at Zack Snyder as a more pretentious version of Michael bay. He’s only good at Cinematography and Action. He can’t tell a good story to save his life. And the worst part is that he always tries to justify his creative choices by releasing a directors cut. If you have to constantly defend your movies from criticism. Then they’re obviously or very good. At least Michael Bay doesn’t try to go artsy in his movies 🤷♂️

You can’t help but respect Michael Bay because he knows exactly what kind of movies he makes and relishes in it. Snyder on the other hand is delusional and I just can’t respect that no matter how nice he is.
The only movies he was a cinematographer for, are Army of the dead and Rebel Moon part 1/2. All 3 of which were awful looking movies. Is he a good cinematographer then?
I will take The Rock, Bad Boys, and Armageddon over all of Zack Snyder’s collective directorial efforts.

When John wants to negatively criticize Snyder, he always feels the need (obligation?) to say that he's a fan and that he liked all of Zack's films besides Sucker Punch. It's his way of protecting himself from the cult. But it's useless. Even if you like most of Zack movie, it's better to laugh about the ones you don't and take everything in derision. This is the best way to protect yourself from these people. When you try to be serious and talk to them like adults, that's when they think they can attack you
This is the only movie I've ever watched on 1.3 speed just to ease the pain........Rob is right this is the worst movie ever made. How can you make a mediocre movie and divide it into two it's absolutely terrible.

I've been called a "Snyder Hater' online, but truth be known- I LOVE Sucker Punch. I do. I think it's amazing. It know it's shit, and I cannot argue with any of the cricticism's... But the movie holds a special place in my heart for some reason. I really respected and loved ZS until MoS. Quite frankly it's a bit bizzare how I didn't end up in the cult. But BvS was soooooooo bad!

Rebel Moon Part 2 made me feel angry about how bad it was compared to how much potential it had.
This sums up the majority of people’s opinion of BvS. So much potential, and it was wasted on a man who does not know how to tell a story.
Zach Snyder movies are great for parties when you can’t hear anything
Snyder is relying way to much on directors cuts. Nearly all his movies have them. Before Rebel Moon even came out he was talking about the 3 hour long directors cuts that are they way you should watch them. If your movie is only watchable in that form, only release it in that form. I was very excited for these, the look of everything was so cool. I'll watch the extended versions, but I've kind of lost faith in the guy.

I love Sucker Punch! It is definitely flawed, but there are parts of that movie that are so amazing that it makes up for the flaws.

Why did the lightsabre woman die so easy and fighting just normal troops...and no one even mentions the fact at the end of the movie?
Ah that confirm my suposition. I stopped the movie at 45 min and to me it was telegraphed that the men who love Kora and the lightsabre women would die. The relation between lightsabre (movie so bad I can't even remember the character names) and the young boy was an amateur attempt at making us attached to her and be emotional when she would die. And the men that love Kora was pretty clear they were doing that pseudo love story (Kora jumps on him like she didn't had chex for a decade) to have the men die before the end. Oh you did not mention that... did he died?

Zack Snyder is like the Almond Joy of the director world, where most people dislike them but they have a very loud, very passionate cult following
I enjoyed Rebel Moon part 1, as for part 2, the final hour was great
He’s obsessed with images and iconography. His brain is full of murals of himself in various renaissance poses painted from the perspective of someone at his feet. There is no room up there for substance.
Snyder and the cast never disowned Sucker Punch. Quite the opposite. It´s why he keeps talking about getting the rights back to release a director´s cut. The film also developed a cult following almost outside of the Snyder fanbase, like let´s say Jenifer´s Body.
Hay here is my back story, hay also here is mine, now let’s see rice fall slow motion, see rich bags get carried slow motion. Anyone who likes this is insane.
I would much rather go to jury duty again than watch another Rebel Moon movie. I hope Netflix and Snyder stop with these movies.

Ok, I'm a Snyder fanboy, but now he's become a parody of himself. What even is this? These movies just feel so empty. All the ingredients are there, there's no reason this shouldn't be amazing, visuals are top notch, good performers, lovely music... This is exactly what I should love, but it's just not coming together because of the story. Every shot has to be so over the top, which is evident by the ultra dramatic slow motion farming scene. Seriously? Characters don't evolve their relationships (with one exception), the villain is back from the dead and hasn't changed in the slightest. No development at all.
Oh, and the really cool robot who is by far the most interesting character, (named Anthony Botkins by CinemaSins), just like the first movie, he gets ONE thing to do.. which was awesome, but why don't we take advantage of this character?
And the pacing. I don't understand what directors cuts are gonna do, when it already feels padded. We have a scene where the main characters sit down and tell their back stories with blunt exposition and flashbacks, and the movie stops dead in its tracks. How are you gonna fix that? Did they take out the actual story, and leave us with the fillers? I don't get it.
Rebel moon part 2 legitimately and definitively dethroned battlefield earth for worst big budget sci fi film and go-to punchline for jokes about bad movies!

300 and MoS are looking more and more like flukes.
Not flukes, just little to no involvement from Snyder. 300 had its story and most of its dialogue straight from the source material. MoS was written by competent writers based on a story from Christopher Nolan.

I remember people hyping these movies up after ZS Justice League. And I remember thinking, so? Why do I care about these movies? I never understood the anticipation for these movies.
Then you're not a fan of either Sci-Fi or Seven Samurai. For fans of both, it was a no-brainer to be intrigued.

At this point I have to assume that Studios giving Zack Snyder hundreds of millions of $$$ is a money laundering technique. Nothing else makes sense.
And this is coming from someone who counts MOS as his top 5 films of all time and also enjoyed BvS. The dude has shipped out absolute crap since BvS. He needs to stop with the 'directors cut' stuff. His directors cut (other than BvS) are not good. They provide no new context to the story. They're just MORE slow motion shots of people doing the most normal action.
He is arguable the best in Hollywood at telling a great story with-in a single shot. But he really can not tell a feature film length story.

I saw a Rebel Moon 2 add on Facebook and couldn't find one bad comment. I think they all watched a different movie than me. But to each his own🤷🏾♂️

It takes alot for me to call a movie bad. But this was horrible. I almost couldn’t finish it. Nothing happens for the first hour of the film.
I felt nothing for the characters as they talked about their sad back story while sitting around the dinner table. It was melodramatic and cringey to watch.
The extended cut of BVS was way better
The theatrical cut of Aliens is NOT better than the director’s cut!!
Dawn of the dead and watchmen are his best movies which are fantastic films I watch every year he needs to go back to those roots.
Dawn of the Dead is definitely one of his best ones and it’s sad that it’s overshadowed by his later work.

This movie somehow was worse than the first one. To date 300 is his only movie i absolutely love. Every other one of his movies that I've seen go from meh to downright garbage

Has he ever done an indie movie? Because most of the movies he directed were comic book adaptations or franchise films. Even his directorial debut, Dawn of the Dead, was a remake of a previous film.

He is a TREMENDOUS director. He’s an equally TERRIBLE writer. When he sticks to the page of a great script, he will work miracles. Truly. Watchmen is one of the all time great sci-if movies (yes sci-fi because comic book movies was not an established genre back then - batmans, supermans and an Iron Man don’t count). Remarkable storytelling and visual pacing.
When he writes them, it almost seems like a coke addled script. He’s clean I know, but his scripts don’t have the depth. They don’t demand the time for each scene. It’s sad.

maaaan.... after dune part 2... i just couldnt fucking do it. dune 2 ruined "ok" sci fi movies for me for who knows how long.
My DnD party have better reasons for being together and methods for sharing their backstory. When they all sat around the table taking turns with the magic exposition visions, I couldn't believe it! Why are we getting this in the second movie and not the first? Why can't we actually see these things incorporated into the story rather than disjointed flashbacks? If you didnt thinknit was relevant when we met the characters, what makes it worth the time and effort now? I think Dan Murrell said it best when he said, "Is there such a thing a TOO MUCH too late?"
Let’s be honest here. I hate to say it and I’d normally not say it but the actors are bad. The script is also awful but the actor are not much better

I liked Sucker Punch. But I also didnt know it was a Snyder film when I watched it. I thought it was artsy and visually entertaining and different from what I was used to seeing.

There is only 4 movies zack snyder made that i believe was genuinely good ( or even great). Watchmen, 300, man of steel and dawn of the dead. All the others are bad imo.

And two of those are adaptations of graphic novels.

@@Zock711 Not everyone is a writer and director, Zach wants to be like Martin Scorsese, or James Cameron. Hopefully he has finally learned, he's not them, just be a good director. Or perhaps start with writing a light novel or comic that earns legit interests then make a movie about it. It's the only way to improve his writing.
Extended Aliens is better than the original cinema release IMO.
I am Snyder fanboy. I love Sucker Punch. I get it. It’s not liked by many. I loved it. That said. Rebel Moon 1, can’t do it. Tried 4 times. Cannot get past the first hour. Not even watching part 2. It has all the stuff of a movie of this genre I should like but it’s meh at best and can’t hold me. I feel bad for saying it. I wanted love this. I can’t. Big miss for me.
Sucker Punch had great action and cool visuals. The story was a mess.
I don’t think they realize the difference in this directors cut. It’s not the typical same film but a bit longer, the deal he made with Netflix is they would approve his r rated rebel moon film if he also gave them a short 2 hour version for their viewership. He’s said the directors cuts have different dialogue, stories and characters.

i don't any other director who can't tell his story in 2 hrs or 2:15 hrs so why the cuts and this is the director again you want to make DC movies? ( when will the cuts end??) why does he always have to make Director's Cuts
@@michaelkaggwa4915 I don’t think you understand. He was tasked to make a 2 hour version in exchange for his actual 3 hour version, and the only thing with DC is each of his films were botched by execs, but trying to say a story has to be told in 2 hours is ridiculous
