    Yeah, I was the line producer on an indie picture. One of the leads showed up 4 hours late and completely f**ked us. The director and I had to rewrite the script on the spot, we had to shoot out at night, so we had to pay the lighting crew and the cinematographer time and a half. It was a disaster.

    Notice how he never works with major directors. He’s ALWAYS the biggest name on set. He’s ALWAYS the producer. He’s ALWAYS in control. He does this on purpose. You think Christopher Nolan would tolerate this foolishness? Johnson controls everyone on that set and no one will dare stand against him out of fear of losing their job.

    • @MrBrock314
      @MrBrock314 7 месяцев назад

      @@davidjames579 All I can say is they're not making their money back on that investment. People complained about Rings of Power but that is far less wasteful than this. And they won't break even on Rings of Power. $250 million for a Christmas movie makes zero sense as no Christmas movie has EVER made enough to justify that budget. The highest grossing Christmas movie of all time was The Grinch (2018 version, not the Jim Carrey version) which made $536 million worldwide. Its budget was $75 million.
      So, a $250 million Christmas movie is equivalent to just flushing at least a hundred million dollars down the drain as there's no chance you make back your money. See Charts with Dan for what would be needed to make back your money on a $250 million movie - it's about $800 million+ depending on how successful your first domestic week was.
      The Flash (Ezra Miller) cost less than that for example and lost the studio about $150-200 million because of how advertising budgets work.

    Kevin Smith told a story about the making of "Live Free or Die Hard". Basically, Bruce Willis was very late every single day and would constantly stop shooting to question the script. Kevin eventually stepped in to do some rewrites that was submitted to the producers to look over. During which Bruce held a barbecue party for the cast & crew. When the producers finally called that evening to disapprove of the script changes, Bruce simply asked them who their 2nd choice was to play John McClane. The script was then approved and Bruce went to the "Rocky Balboa" premiere. Hence, nothing was accomplished on a shooting day that cost thousands & thousands & thousands of dollars. Jackie Chan has also said that Chris Tucker used to tell him that they can arrive to the "Rush Hour" set late, and that Jackie makes Chris look bad by being there very early. To which Jackie simply said that it's his job. In his 20th century Hong Kong films, the cast & crew would often sleep on the set to maximize the shooting schedule.

Meanwhile Connery was equally notorious for showing up early and wanting to get everything done as quickly and efficiently as possible. My prediction is that the last box office hit he'll probably star in is Moana, after that he might have to hit the Nicholas Cage highway and just take whatever comes his way. Granted, unlike Nicholas Cage he was smart enough to start some businesses and a few smart investments so financially he won't be tanking anytime soon but as far as Hollywood goes, retirement is on the horizon.

      @@jusomcpBecause his whole ‘gym hustle’ brand promotes a lifestyle that is unsustainable, and a physique that is literally unachievable… all under the guise of “hard work.” There’s no debate that he obviously works incredibly hard on his body, but he wouldn’t have that body without steroids. People deserve more transparency with these sort of things, I wish actors were more outspoken about it.

    I don’t know what to think of this article but what I do know is that Dwayne Johnson needs to reinvent himself. By looking at his filmography, his last films since the beginning of the pandemic have not been as good as they could have been. The best received movie he did in the last few years was DC League of Super-Pets. Moana 2 and the live action Moana will do well because of the brand recognition but he really needs a movie that audiences will embrace because it’s good.

    Loved the peoples champion Rock in his early day with hair and sideburns. He was the second coming of Hulk Hogan. However I was never a fan of his movies. As big a name Schwarzenegger was I always saw the characters he played (Dutch, The Terminator, John Matrix, Conan etc.). Aside from The Scorpion King, I can’t get past “The Rock” playing “The Rock”. I don’t see the character I just see a big bald man called “The Rock”. I hate to say this because I know he has worked extremely hard to be where he is and he deserves every once of his Stardom!
