Did Rachel even have a career to destroy in the first place? I'm not huge on the 'beautiful elite' but the Snow White debacle is the first time I heard of her.
Spielbergs westside story was supposed to be a big deal and flopped hard with her in the lead role then Shazam2 was tracking to make a billion like the first one and flopped with her playing a main villian. Now she’s in hunger games, another solid franchise. Her acting is fine, not stellar. Her agent is clearly getting her good roles, but they just keep flopping.
@@hellequinnzher acting was great in West side story… it was legit a solid movie but the lead actor was accused of raping and grooming a minor and the press was super awkward after

There is a thing used in pschology research called the "Single Item Narcissim Test" and, as its name implies, it's a single question. The question is just basically : "On a scale from 1 to 10, how much of a narcissist do you think you are?". This test is less precise than a typical 40 question narcissism questionnaire but only just barely. So yeah, when people tell you they are one, you should really believe them.
Its giving people a chance when you dont know them. Its impolite to judge at first glance. Quote are all bullshit anyway, so take that shit with a grain of salt
The whole Ezra Miller thing made me look at Hollywood differently, and more clearly than ever. It's not just the studio retaining him that's a problem, the entire industry is, it was more than happy to make excuses and/or completely overlook very real problems that brought about actual harm.
Here what I don’t understand: the actors have teams comprised of an agent, a manager, a publicist, a lawyer, and an accountant, and more. Where are these professionals when it comes to telling their client to STFU?
Easy. Fired lol. Because most actors are entitled nitwits who won't listen to anyone or take criticism. So most of their teams are just yes men. When ziggler did her snow white interview they all gave her the slay queen treatment rather than the "are you nuts?" Either way, they get paid though
With Zeigler, her comments were stacked into a short period to get the most publicity out before the strike happened and she was gagged by the union. So there was no way to course correct while more and more came out.
There's a world of difference between telling your client to shut up and your client actually shutting up. I know a lawyer who takes public defender work during slow times, he has many idiot client stories.
@@Markfr0mCanada You’re not wrong, but celebrities are different because part of the faustian bargain they make is to have their image managed. That is why things like this didn’t happen under the old studio system, which exercised total control over actors’ lives.
The fact Ezra Miller is still with Warner bros is a statement to how morally bankrupt and scummy Warner is. They drop Henry cavil and keep Ezra. I won’t be seeing anything coming from Warner anytime soon.
@@DaveRedsky 1st off I don’t spend all day on the internet staying up on what studios own what franchises. I work for a living. I just know whoever owns DC dropped Henry Cavil but kept Ezra Miller. The fact you pointed that out as if that’s something that everyone knows and did so rudely indicates to me that you need to go outside more and maybe socialize with other humans a bit. 🤡
As far as I know, Ezra is no longer involved, it was recently announced that none of the Zack Snyder hired DCEU actors would be returning for James Gunn's reboot.
The problem is that our same society has hoisted these people on pedestals and adores them. Being an actor/actress used to be seen as a job: people with acting talent got hired to work in movies and/or series. Now some people arguably had more talent than others and an even smaller part of that group had the charisma that drew people to them. As a consequence, those people were praised and adored, but nobody mistook them for having a superior intellect just because they weer an actor/actress and there lies the problem we face these days. Nobody took what actors like Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell or even Clint Eastwood and Michael J. Fox thought about politics seriously, because they were "just" actors. Yet in present day some people seem to think that people like Brie Larson, Rachel Zegler and even frigging Ezra Miller are some kind of superior class that not only needs to be listened to as some kind of oracles, but that also needs to be protected from their own (mis)behaviour(s) at all costs. The bottom line in my opinion is that having acting talent doesn't automagically make people highly intelligent, morally superior or politically superior; they're just like "normal" people because they ARE normal people who are blessed with a specific talent.
This is not about a revolution against oppressors. It's about someone putting feces in our feed. No one is eating this woke shit. People who don't like woke are vomiting it up, and people who like woke never pay for anything.
That part's not even true, cause she said it unconsciously by-accident while on a talk show, but on social media, likes to pretend she's altruistic and a humanitarian.
Man, i have some compassion to her. They have massacre her for all the Snow White thing, she have a bad and heavy time and she is very young. Hollywood is evil and the watchers, too.
You grossly mischaracterized the accusations against Kevin Spacey at 13:12 by stating he was found not guilty in a courtroom but that his career is still in the shitter despite that. To clarify, he was found not guilty in a British courtroom for charges brought against him on British soil. But he has plenty of assault accusations dating back decades from minors and adults on American soil that led to his continued downfall.
My favourite analogy for the 18 hours in a Disney princess dress is like a carpenter that gets paid for building a table but also gets paid every time someone eats off of it.
Yeah but a table can't be made once and sold to millions by a publisher or studio. The carpenter gets paid everytime he sells a table. Their is no corporation to make him do one table and then take his work and sell it to the masses.
Ok. But a carpenter charges based on the usefulness of his creation over time ... right? A person doesn't pay a carpenter for a table based on having a single meal on that table. Does he? I don't think so. I think usefulness and use of the item is factored in to the cost of it. That just makes sense ... right? I know that kind of blows up your weird radical capitalist angle on this ... but I think it is what it is.
Thing is, she could very well be right, but what's so gross is the attitude. She's a glorified lottery winner in her early 20s with more money than my family will make in several generations, acting like she's hard done by in this vitriolic fashion.
I remember her whinging about wearing a costume and I’m sure people thought the same thing as me: “You’re getting paid an absolute mint to play dress up. Other people work in mines or are firemen or have legit difficult jobs that they’re underpaid for and they do it day in day out for years. You have to wear a dress and get paid millions for a few months work? Oh boo fucking hoo”
You forget Faye Valentine from the live action Cowboy Bebop. She basically did just as much, if not MORE damage than Rachel Zegler. It's kind of amazing how catastrophic it was.
The difference is Daniella Pineda a no-name nobody who Hollywood isn't giving a Roman Reigns level push towards making you "like." Hollywood legit thought people would flock to see Brie Larson and Rachel Zegler in movies, so went overboard with the hype and fake fans and bots on social media. They actually do this a lot; trying to artificially inflate the popularity of people like Sam Worthington, Jai Courtney, Jennifer Lawrence, Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, or Ella Balinska. The music industry does it even more. Nobody in the real world likes Rachel Zegler just like nobody in eh real world listens to f*cking Drake songs. This even works on RUclips; if people upvote their own comments or get bots to like their videos; you'd be surprised how easily they can spike in "popularity."
That woman's snarky social media upload where she abuses the fans should be required viewing for all studios, so they can design employment contracts for actors as a "don't ever do this"
A real narcissist wouldn’t blatantly call themselves a narcissist and calling anybody an it is acc disgusting no matter who they are and what they’ve done they are still a person
When Kevin Costner played Jim Garrison in JFK, he played the character very well. A character that believed JFK had been killed for reasons other than the official explanation. And yet, Costner himself really adheres to the official explanation. What he did was get into character as he was being paid for, and what he didn't do is bring his own vision of the story to the character. Also, he didn't campaign against the movie's subject treatment nor did he rant against moviegoers, and no one held a grudge against him. I still follow actors that said things I do not agree with, but, like Costner, they said it once, and didn't make a hill to die on out of it. Larson and Zegler are another beast. They explicitly said, repeatedly, that I was not their target audience. That I and everyone like me were, in short, despicable on many levels. Until I see that they have changed their point of view, I don't wish them ill, but, there is no reason for me to support whatever they might be doing. Consequences consequences. In short, we are STILL in a free society that has free market. I have the opportunity to chose what I consume. If it's not for me, that's it. If it's not for anyone, that's it. And as far as I know, being lectured isn't part of the enjoyment of watching a movie. You can challenge my views, yes. Give me substance to think about. But not lecturing me.
Spot on. As an oldie I never thought I'd see lectures from Hollywood with US access media supporting it AGAINST the customer base. I've enjoyed HW films for many years including the old B/W 30's, 40's and 50's films. Actors then were media trained and knew bringing controversy to a project could earn them a contract suspension.Since the 80's activist types began pontificating on pet political projects during award acceptance speechs causing the Oscars to now have a speech time limit. Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon and Richard Gere spring to mind whilst back then HW & the public groaned. HW's forgotten you never publicly take sides in politics and religion when your job is to make money.
Its still hilarious to me, how these entitled brat stars today keep saying "This movie isn't for you, your not the target audience", and when ticket sales bomb and their movie fails because of their entitlement, they blame on the people they told you go away, not to watch their movies. Those kind of mental gymnastics should be studied, not praised.
I think this is a sensible comment overall. The difference between acknowledging problems that exist in society and pushing to make a positive difference vs getting antagonistic about it and shining a very negative and solution-less light on it, that's where Larson and Zegler fumbled. I still want them to be better and succeed, absolutely no ill wishes but that's a change they have to bring on themselves.
Depends on what you are saying and who you're saying it to. Can't say sh*t against your masters. Can say what you want at the peasants who pay to see your crap

A Wrinkle in Time was a novel most GenXers read in elementary school. We all know the story, men and women alike, and each of us can have an opinion about the recent film adaptation. It’s unreasonable to rework a universally loved IP without hearing the opinions of EVERYone who enjoyed the original. It’s also unreasonable to rework such an IP, call it “only for x demographic,” without changing the title, and expect silence from the fans.
I’m 21. I read the book in elementary school, and I was the target audience for the movie when it came out. My dad bought it and played it for me thinking I would love it. All I did was tell him how many things were wrong because “that wasn’t in the book”. Yes I kinda enjoyed the representation but also can you keep the freaking plot the same? 😂
@@reyahhhh5519 I’m curious, have you watched the 2003-4 A Wrinkle in Time film? I liked that version. The remake, not so much.

Of course the effects definitely needed more and it didn’t quite capture what the book was going for and I think the casting was a bit eh but way better than the newer one in my eyes.
@@reyahhhh5519 Couldn’t agree more. The first 2 days me and my class watched the movie to compare it with the book and was enjoyable and pretty close to the book, beside the weird looking visuals in a handful of scenes. Then we moved to the newer one and there were more flaws than the older one. Yes it was better looking and a better visual representation to the book, but I saw so many changes and flaws in that one compared to the older movie. It wasn’t too bad, but when comparing it to the book, it does have a handful of changes to it that bugged me when watching it in class. I still like the 2003 one more than the newer one.
It's baffling. It's likely Hunger Games won't pull amazing money, and so will Snow White is already mired in controversy and likely to have an out of control budget. For some reason Hollywood wants her to be a hit.
I remember thinking while watching the interviews at the time that most of the actors didnt like how she pushed her way into the franchise like she was saving it.
Although I don’t like Brie Larson, I’m happy with what you said about people needing to move past little incidents like that. It’s been years and she’s still being annihilated by the public especially the anti woke crowd. The woman’s career is ruined. Like, what else do people want? It’s beating a dead horse to continue bashing her like people do. Like damn. You’d think she did something atrocious.
Yeah, I pretty much agree. Saying stupid stuff should not be a crime. At the same time, people are free to dislike actors and actresses based on what they said. Brie has been a bit smarter lately about knowing not to run her mouth. She still has time to turn things around with audiences.
She's an actor....they say stupid things all the time. And while I find her a bit insufferable I'd go see a movie she's in if it was something I was interested in. The character she's playing is what you go to see, not the actual person playing them. And despite my dislike for some of the things she says she's not a bad actor...and she's hot.
I agree, but her biggest problem is that Captain Marvel wasn't a good character and she wasn't able to make it better than what was on it page. In fact, she probably made it worse. If people had liked the character, it wouldn't have been an issue for her.
So only liberals are allowed to cancel people? We should just ignore it and watch the slop she's in as some nebulous attempt at being "the bigger man"? No if they're gonna do it, we're gonna do it. Because they are never gonna stop
The sad part about Scream 7 is that Melissa wasn’t even saying anything controversial. “Don’t commit genocide” is a pretty uncontroversial thing to say. Something I would at least hope most people agree with.
It’s because NEITHER Palestine OR ISREAL are innocent. Both have committed major genocide. Both have manipulated their citizens to war. Both are desperately trying to make themselves look like the victim. So of course when Melissa offers a neutral stance, she’s punished instead of rewarded for “choosing a side”. It doesn’t matter who wins: ISREAL OR Palestine because both have showed such ugly sides of each other the world kind is like “we can’t stand either of you”.
bruh they arent commiting anything. population of Palestinians are growing. this is just dog whistling antisemitism. Israel has a right to defend itself.shame on you for looking at things so shallow
Actors and actresses live in a world where they are rewarded for how convincing they are in fabricating an illusion for us. They are rewarded for pretending to be something they are not. So it stands to reason that many of them can delude themselves into thinking that their existence and their opinions are more important than the common man and woman, and that it would behoove us to listen to them. The only antidote to this problem is for all members of the viewing public to stop listening to actors and actresses, as they dispense their opinion on matters of politics and culture. We, as paying customers of their work, need to shatter their insular world.
Ignoring them may be effective for individuals, but does nothing to counter their corrosive effect on public discourse. There is a social benefit to raising awareness about their sanctimony, hypocrisy and mendacity.
Daniel Day-Lewis had it right all along. We knew next to nothing about his personal life or opinions, and we the audience saw him as nothing but who he was portraying onscreen.
Heck you don't even need to be an actor og actress to have people believe your opinion is more important than your own. There's a reason youtubers constantly disclaim that "their opinions are their own and aren't better or worse than yours".
Today their biggest mistake next to forgetting never comment on politics/religion if your job is pleasing as many customers as possible, is claiming you can only play a role if you possess most of the characteristics already, so play yourself. Going so far as to remove (then replace due to pushback) dwarves from SW by equating fairytale characters with humans which they in no way ever resembled. Any more than goblins or orcs. Well until HW/the US decided both HP's goblins and Tolkien's orcs had human equivalents then got angry about it when European authors raised on 100s of years of fairy tales wouldn't have given such comparison a 2nd thought. It takes a certain type of mind to 'go there'.

larsons whole wrinkle in time bs was a textbook example of a genetic fallacy. Essentially, she says your negative opinion of something she supports is invalid because of your identity, not your actual argument. This, of course, is idiotic and part of why most people find her very unlikable.
No it's not. You just collectively decided she meant something different than what she actually said. Her argument really just is: If you're part of a group that normally wouldn't care for or like this kind of product, your opinion on the quality of said product (which is always going to be heavily subjective, no matter how hard you tell yourself otherwise) is just not nearly as valuable to the producer or other customers. This is just common sense and one of the most important rules in market research: Ask your core audience! And "the average dude" is just not the core audience for "A Wrinkle in Time" or even willing to watch it to form his own opinion or professional enough to even try to give a measured response if he watched it and didn't like it. The internet is full of morons that try to sound clever and sophisticated. Like me and you really. Her real mistake was trying to yell back at them.
Small correction on Kevin Spacey. He wasn't found not *guilty* he was found not *liable*. Guilt is only ever established in a criminal case. A lawsuit is civil. There's a multitude if factors at play there so we can never really know for sure whether he did it or not.
Yes we can... The requirements for finding someone liable in a civil suit are a fraction of what's required for a criminal trial. If they couldn't make it stick with the lowest standards legally available - he, very-obviously, didn't do it.
@iro6758 That's true, but a lot goes into a trial. I'm not saying that he probably did or didn't do it. Just saying that without having been in that court room we have no way of knowing why he was found not liable. Quality of lawyers plays a HUGE factor in the outcomes of cases like this.
Celebrities will always have their own opinions, ideas and thoughts which is perfectly fine. But when they go out of their way to say how superior they are, how "Dated" and "Flawed" classic movies are and act like insufferable entitled brats then I have no problems staying far away from any form of content they are associated with.
On "Celebrities will always have their own opinions, ideas and thoughts which is perfectly fine". I'm conflicted about it. It does seem very, very cancel culturey. But assume that executives LOVE money. Torpedoing their own film doesn't make sense to me unless it's a message to other actors on other films. If you have other projects that cost 500 million in production and marketing, an actor mouthing off could cost you a hundred million dollars depending on what they say. I can appreciate studios having an episode and doing something self destructive so that a message has been sent. If you let apply a stringent standard on free speech, then you've have to shrug if Tom Cruise said he always wanted to get into dogfighting or if Emma Watson hopped on twitter and burned a Quran. To me, it seems like discipline to not say anything that could cost your film millions of dollars or jeopardize the film studio's commercial arrangements (because a studio would have partners and financiers and insurers or whatever). If you (as a film studio) stand behind something they hate, they might never work with you again.
When the only 2 released movies she’s been in have lost a combined $300 million makes her a star shows just how bad the situation in Hollywood in 2023 is.
Movies are dying because of streaming, not because of men who are "teaching Disney a lesson". Men are not that powerful. Women actually have more spending power but aren't interesting in paying for movies. Series is where they dominate. Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is one of the most PAID actors because of women. Movies are trying to convert women into movie audiences
@@suezcontours6653 lol what? how is streaming killing movies when they serve two different kinds of content (and isn't profitable either for that matter). Also gg on the "men are not that powerful, it's the movies that are now made for women" take. Guess what, women don't want trash either
@@suezcontours6653 Yeah, that's why every single streamer is billions in the red and only Netflix and maybe Pluto are barely profitable mostly because of ad-supported tiers. I love how you tackled the different movies Rachel was in and what she said about the movies. I’ve seen way too many comments on insta of people sympathizing for Rachel, saying that Rachel criticizing the movies she’s in is the same as Robert Pattinson saying his opinions on the Twilight franchise… Not the same type of criticism folks😂
I actually thought Robert's comments were.also idiotic. You don't like the movies, that's ok, we all do things to pay the bills, but this is what made him. That being said, unlike Rachel he is talented and not profoundly annoying.
A large percentage of big stars are probably narcissists, but one as boldly open about it as Zegler was begging to get hated into oblivion. Narcissists: you *really* need to hide it better than Zegler
If Cinema Cartography has taught me anything, it's that there's an entire underworld of uncompromising art films, full of popular actors and underground actors, and immensely talented filmmakers that can you can always rely on when mainstream film has become shitty. Criterion Collection is the best streaming service bar none. It's amazing that instead of focusing on the decline of hollywood, i can turn on something like "An Actor's Revenge" by Kon Ichiki and be treated to a piece of art that doesn't give a shit whether or not it appeals to a broader audience.

First time on your channel. I liked your video but I disagree with some things you said. I can't give Brie Larson a chance cause she never apologized. In fact, she still continues to blame the fans. I'll only forgive her WHEN or IF she says something like "It is NOT the fans fault The Marvels didn't succeeded, we got it wrong, it was OUR fault, and we'll try to make it up to the fans on the next movie". Marvel and the actors on their woke movies needs to learn how to be humble.
Yes. Brie Larson backed off when she got push back, but gave no indication that she had moderated her ideological position. For the moment, she is keeping her head down, keeping her powder dry for now, ready to take up the fight again if she sees the opportunity for an easy win. Reminding people of what she has said, what she has done and what she wants is not the same as wishing her harm.
Still continues to blame the fans ? Besides her speech and the interviews from 2019, she hasn’t said or done anything remotely offensive since, has she ?
@@tonymontana-mh8ff I'm with the OP. You don't consistenly and openly speak to media, so the world like that unless you've always thought that way. Which means her politics haven't changed. A lot of people with platforms have been using them for relief aid, and they seem to be having an easier time avoiding conflicts with their fans and sponsors.
I assume the narcissistic attitudes were always there. It's just that studios had PR teams that you keep the actors at a distance from the public/press. Now a days, the actors before their own PR for better or worse
Raging narcissisism. That's how. You'd think that these stars would become cautionary tales for future up and comers, but nope. Some people just cannot help themselves.

Though I would normally agree, Rachel Zegler is a particularly odd case. Her first role was won by a competition, and she was picked for Snow White for some 'political/agenda' brownie points. I don't think the fans 'made' her, she's just been unbelievably lucky in her career. Which makes it even funnier in the fact she's squandered it, so arrogantly.
@@sirfuttbucker6067 I've heard Rachel Zegler is very talented. (I've not seen any of her work.) But talented people auditioning for roles is common enough.

I don’t think Rachel Zegler has been in a single successful movie in her life. Literally all of her movies have bombed, but she acts like she’s this huge star. On behalf of Gen Z, I would like to disown her. I can’t stand her.
This is because Hollywood, as well as SEVERAL industries like music and politics, are all built on fake hype and artificial buzz. So much of it is "Fake it till you make it" and hope it actually works. They do this for both the actors and audience. Rachel Zegler has only been in Westside Story, Shazam Fury of the Gods, the Hunger Games prequel that just flopped, and Snow White, which is still a year away from release, and yet we all know who she is. The only difference is, in the past, Disney and other PR firms could manipulate the narrative and turn bad PR into profit. But that's no longer been the case since Brie Larson, or arguably before her, Jennifer Lawrence. Normies are waking up to the fact that most famous people suck and have garbage personalities, especially after the industry has spent the last eight years calling us bigots if we don't go see their shitty movies like Ghostbusters, Birds of Prey, Terminator Dark Fate, Charlies Angels, Captain Marvel, etc.

I just think she was miscast as captain marvel, and she seems to not give a shit. Lessons in Chemistry is a great role for her. In another universe, she’s the lead in Gone Girl. She just doesn’t do warmth.
Exactly. No one’s out here trying to doxx her home, or harass her wherever she goes online or irl, no one’s even going out of his was to get her fired from all her places of employment. We, the paying audience, simply don’t like to financially support sexist racists. Until she learns to reign in her disgusting actions and possibly even apologize to the audience she has belittled, she doesn’t deserve the support. “Separate the art from the artist” only works if the art can be enjoyed without contributing rewards to the artist in the wrong. For example, an actor made a lot of masterful movies in his time, but decades later is revealed to be a criminal. We should still be able to enjoy the movies he made before that time, because he isn’t going to be rewarded financially for that. Brie Larson and Rachel zegler do benefit from people going to see their stuff as it comes out; no piece of media is worth rewarding evil behaviors.

That thumbnail is foreshadowing of Zeg congratulating herself in the mirror for being so awesome. And for also singlehandedly managing to create more trainwrecks both socially and cinematically than any other actress... At a young age too. Impressive indeed.

They should be humbled but that doesn't mean we want to see their careers permanently die. They're young and being thrust into the spotlight, and they're going to make stupid mistakes. But their whole futures are still ahead of them and you want their careers to be dead already? You don't need to be so spiteful - give them a chance to learn humility and then earn their success. And if they don't learn? Then there's no helping them anyway
@@hannahw7023 I disagree with you. There should be consequences for bad behaviour and it’s not like we’re seeing any evidence that they have learned a darned thing. Maybe if they showed any regret for upsetting the potential viewing audiences of their multi-million dollar movies, but no, instead they act like victims and throw the blame for their obnoxious behaviour on the very people they need to placate. Fifteen years ago my friend’s daughter went to LA to pursue her dream of acting. She takes any work she can get and gets rejected time and time again at auditions. If she was given a chance to star in a big movie I can promise you she would not squander it by disrespecting the film and being ridiculously self-important. There are thousands of girls just like her, younger than she is now but equally passionate to become successful as actors. They must see these elitist, woke brats acting too big for their boots and think what they would have done differently in their place. I’d like to see them given a chance because they would appreciate it. In reality there are more gifted, more respectful, nicer actors than Rachel Zegler and Brie Larson out there who know how to treat a movie-going audience and that’s who I want to see in movies. Whether you agree with that or not is immaterial. Its the public who will decide if their careers continue, and I for one won’t be seeing any movies they are in because their personalities have become inseparable from the roles they might perform. That’s just the way it is, and like I said before, they did it to themselves.
@@hannahw7023 I don’t take kindly to racists or sexists, Brie Larson and Rachel zegler are both. They quite clearly despise and/or resent whites and men, especially white men. Let them work normal jobs like the rest of us have to if they’re going to be so cruel to such a large portion of the world’s population. Brie is a very convincing plank. You know why? Method acting! According to one rumour, she spent six months in a lumber yard before filming Captain Marvel. Someone asked if she was trying to be next Keanu Reeves. She said, I'll be the next me, thank you verry much! No, thank you, Brie. Here, have an Oscar.
Tom Cruise is supposedly a weirdo - particularly given his Scientology ties - and yet his films rake in bank and are very nearly always extremely entertaining. It's almost as if talent and having a personality that's engaging are what matter when being a successful actor is concerned. Weird how that works.
Throughout most of human history acting was considered one of the lowest professions. Because they would do and say anything for money. It was only after the invention of the film industry that they began to be looked at as someone to be admired and respected. How nice of them to remind us who they really are.
And the only reason people looked up to and revered the stars of Hollywood’s golden and silver age was because of the studios. WB, Universal, UA, RKO etc. knew how to create movie stars and the secret was: keep the stars private life private and the stars quiet. The movie stars were basically forbidden from talking to the press unless it was through a pre-approved press junket orchestrated by the studios PR-team. Otherwise, silence. This created a situation where the general public were free to imagine that the stars were intelligent, funny and charismatic in private. People worthy of admiration. When this system started to fail in the 70’s and 80’s and definitely since the invention of social media we have started to relize just how dumb and pathetic most of these people are. Who knew? Being an entitled, spoiled brat with no real education usually means that you are a horrible person. We have the odd exception (like Hedy Lamarr) but most Hollywood celebreties are just awful people.

You'd think that the studios would have a "Public Relations 101" mandatory class that all their actors and actresses would take. It would cover Tom Cruise's career; that would show his rise to fame, his over sharing in public about his personal life and his religious/political one (Scientology), the nosedive of his career after that and his redemption arc of him SHUTTING THE FUCK UP and ONLY talking about his movies after that and his return to being a Hollywood superstar. It's a horrible warning and a Good Example all in one. Of course, today's crop of actors would have to acknowledge that movies were made before they ever came along and they aren't The First (insert delusion here) To Star In Or Direct A Movie. Modern Hollywood can go F itself, for all I care. The videos pointing and laughing at their fall is all the entertainment I need when it comes to movies these days.
If I was a professor of that class, my lesson would be: Hello, do you have any social media accounts? Class: Yes! Me: Get rid of those. Class dismissed.

I thing Hollywood essentially gets left with two types of stars... Let's thing about how an actor gets hired. They face rejection, after rejection, until they obtain a part. So, what kind of personality would stay in this kind of industry? The most common, is someone who had a big ego. They know what they are worth, and they think they are underpaid. Aka more narcissistic. They you have the other extreme, someone who is very humble, and has virtually no ego, and is extremely generous [i.e. Keanu Reeves]. Hollywood, basically is the extreme of everything, for better or worse.
You are fearless, articulate, funny, and objective. You are the voice for many of us that see that the entertainment industry has taken a dump in the last decade

This isnt a both side things though its literally a genocide of over 14000 people, 6000 CHILDREN. P*lestinians have suffered for 75 years and its clear that hollywood is funded by those as well as the news, cutting off anyone who tries to humanise the natives. In anyway, even as mild as saying "both"
When people in arts industries destroy their marketing. They are not stars, they a product made through advertising them, to sell more product through advertising.
So, it's perhaps not surprising that Gal Gadot has strong opinions on the topic of feminism. The actress - who had almost given up on her film career when she landed Hollywood's most badass female role - believes anyone who is not a feminist is by default sexist. "People always ask me, 'Are you a feminist?'" Gadot tells Rolling Stone, in a new interview out this month. "And I find the question surprising, because I think, 'Yes, of course. Every woman, every man, everyone should be a feminist. Because whoever is not a feminist is a sexist.'"
@attats-mf9hy It's weird, because she said the exact opposite thing during the press promotion of the original Justice League, where she and Ezra Miller were doing interviews and Ezra was going on woke tirades and she expressly said she is NOT a feminist and that she very much LOVES men. My theory is that Gal Gadot is a well-meaning, normal, slightly-left Liberal, but not progressive/woke. She probably does think second wave feminism is a good thing, but recognizes fourth wave "transwomen are women" feminism is batshit insane. She probably hates most of the extreme Progressive talking points, but says what she needs to say in order to keep her career, especially since she's no longer Wonder Woman and recently expressed strong insecurity for her age (she's nearly 40) and getting old. Why would someone who's still as beautiful as her agree to play the old, bitter evil queen in Snow White? She probably thinks she's less attractive looking than the general public does. Gadot probably also realizes she isn't that good of an actress either and that her time in Hollywood may be drawing to an end, so keeps up appearances and says whatever BS they want her to say so she can keep her job. But in the past, Gadot's been adamant against man-hating, wokeness in general, or the erasure of women and femininity via the trans agenda. She probably saw what happened to JK Rowling and decided to shut up and say whatever they tell her to.
@@MarvinPowell1 "Why would someone who's still as beautiful as her agree to play the old, bitter evil queen in Snow White?" 13:06 Kevin Spacey still did it. Just because he was found innocent in a court of law doesn’t mean he didn’t do it. There are countless reports of his creepy behavior on set, to the point where the House of Cards showrunners had to advise the crew members to make sure they were never alone with him. And let’s not forget the Family Guy joke, which happened years before the allegations arose. A lot of Kevin Spacey’s accusers also conveniently died before they could testify. I’m not saying that he had anything to do with their deaths, but the lack of testimony made it really hard to prosecute him.

Fully agree. The problem is having narcissists select narcissists as "the next big thing" and thinking everyone will love them and being unable to see otherwise cause they're narcissists. Worse of all, Rachel Zegler is legitimately not even the least bit attractive looking. She's a 5 _at best_ and even Pokimane is slightly cuter than Zegler. I'm short and ugly and most of my exes have legitimately looked better than Zegler or Poki. So Zegler doesn't even have looks going for her, in addition to being an idiot who ruins their own career before even having a single successful movie.
I still can not get over Rachel be cast as Snow White. Snow frigging White?... she is tanner then my hardwood floors. I just hate Disney. They destroyed EVERYTHING.
Very well stated. I personally don't care about what actors do outside of movies. I only give a damn about their acting talent. Unless they harm someone or seem to be in a perpetual psychotic break of some kind (Ezra). Side note: Rachel's face gives me uncanny valley feelings. Is that just me?
The saddest thing about Brie Larson and Rachael Zegler is both women are physically attractive. But they're learning the hard way that being easy on the eyes and easy on the ears are often mutually exclusive.
Not mutually exclusive I would say, there's plenty of beautiful actresses with great charisma. But it does require two traits of high quality so yeah, they are more rare.

As a society we need to stop rewarding narcissism. Stop watching the movies these people make and stop buying the products they shill for.
rewarding narcisism is a standard instinct everyone has. Higher IQ people usually know when to suppress it. Lower IQ people follow the Kardasians
It appears we as a society have stopped.

That's perfect
Yeah but a table can't be made once and sold to millions by a publisher or studio. The carpenter gets paid everytime he sells a table. Their is no corporation to make him do one table and then take his work and sell it to the masses.
Ok. But a carpenter charges based on the usefulness of his creation over time ... right? A person doesn't pay a carpenter for a table based on having a single meal on that table. Does he? I don't think so. I think usefulness and use of the item is factored in to the cost of it. That just makes sense ... right? The music industry does it even more. Nobody in the real world likes Rachel Zegler just like nobody in eh real world listens to f*cking Drake songs.

It’s not about grudges, or hate, it’s about not financially supporting bad people. Yes, I know Hollywood is at least 80% bad people, but they least any of them could do is not advertise it to the world, which both Larson and zegler have done, for which they deserve whatever damages to their own careers they sustain.

Someone asked if she was trying to be next Keanu Reeves. She said, I'll be the next me, thank you verry much! No, thank you, Brie. Here, have an Oscar.

Throughout most of human history acting was considered one of the lowest professions. Because they would do and say anything for money.
It was only after the invention of the film industry that they began to be looked at as someone to be admired and respected.
How nice of them to remind us who they really are.
Let us bring back traditional sense

I would add on to show Keanu Reeves do be simple.
If I was a professor of that class, my lesson would be: Hello, do you have any social media accounts?
Class: Yes!

_another_ reason to dislike Gadot. 😉
I guess celebrities or anyone in Hollywood has to be absurd and extreme in their views.
@attats-mf9hy
It's weird, because she said the exact opposite thing during the press promotion of the original Justice League, where she and Ezra Miller were doing interviews and Ezra was going on woke tirades and she expressly said she is NOT a feminist and that she very much LOVES men.

13:06 Kevin Spacey still did it.
