I think there is a problem with being in cults of personality. Hopefully with this trash movies synder has been making and bay has, these cultist can wake up and demand better writing instead of being okay with poorly written colorful turds.
You don't need to be a cultist to like Zack Snyder's films. That would mean you are incapable of critical thinking when it comes to his work. I like most of his filmography, but I think he directed four bad movies. The rest, for me, go from good to great without a single "perfect" film. I know a lot of people who feel more or less the same way about his work.
Zack only be compared to Michael Bay as a director because both are very similar directing style great at cinematography and action scene but terrible with storytelling and characters and all of their films are just very style over substance. But reception wise Zack is very close to M Night Shyamalan very mixed and most miss than hits
@@matiasdevaglia4541
I didn’t mean that as is cultists, I meant cult *following,* in the same way that movies like The Lost World have a cult following
I don't think the director's cut will save it unless they overhaul the story and dialogue
Only Zack and his fanbase think that.
The rest of the world do not
MoS is atrocious. It completely deviates of what Superman is
Yeah Man of Steel is horrible. I put that shit on with fellow comic lovers to laugh at how horrendously he missed the mark on the Superman
I will watch Rebel Moon 3 because just to confirm the big reveal. It's the WHEAT. The WHEAT secretly controlling everybody.
Yes, the special wheat is like the spice that gives you power.
I found it interesting how the peaceful farmers with the limited time of training with weapons they have never fired before what seemed like within 5 minutes were able to hit there targets with laser focused precision 😅😅
i didnt like the first one enuff to even be interested in the second one. but RAY made a good point... visuals matter... i have played plenty terrible games that looked pretty
BUT this didn't even look pretty. It was samey generic stuff people have seen before in sepia colored mud.
Tbh you're really doing an excellent job of selling me this movie. A film that bad is an event you just can't miss. I'm pumped.
So Snyder pitched a Star Wars movie to Disney & Lucasfilm and they rejected it. Then WB & Whedon ruined his JL & his DCEU. So his master revenge plan is to make his own Star Wars/Firefly ripoff at Netflix. Unfortunately, his revenge plan has spectacularly failed in every way.
Watching both Rebel Moon movies made me appreciate the recent Star Wars content even more. Plus, Firefly is still spectacular even to this day.
Ha ha ha ha leave the princess where ever she it ...OMG I'm dying 😂😂😂😂😂
Bro, you synder fandom was misplaced. I found his movies massively pretnesions. Nah, Ill pass big time on the puff pieces of Synder fandom reviews. I liked 300 but even that one was pretensious as ever. Man was laughable horrible...I couuldnt stop laughing at how stupid it was in its self fleitio. I dont know what you saw in any of that, but mkay. I mean you are suprised this movie was trashy? Good to see you are becoming aware of what a grifter he is.
Am I the only one who is really upset that when John named Zack Snyder’s films, he didn’t mention Dawn of the Dead?
Dawn of the Dead is definitely one of Zack Snyder’s best films and it bothers me that people always forget about it. It’s always overshadowed by his later work even though it’s much better than most of his other films.
He mentioned it yesterday
I actually enjoyed it quite a bit... I appreciate being able to discover an original universe, and after the first movie, I knew what I was getting : A sci-fi remake of Seven Samurai, with Star Wars and Warhammer 40k inspiration thrown in it... Which sounds like what I probably dream about.
I actually I liked it a little better then Part 1. At least the second half was entertaining
New to the channel. Awesome panel!
Liked it more than the first one
Shit was awful. It’s all subjective, I know. But just no. Even the action was horrible. The ONLY NOT ABSOLUTELY AWFUL THING, was some of the visuals were OK still shots. That’s it though.
300 was epic
Yes, as was Watchmen, but both were nearly shot-for-shot adaptations of graphic novels.
I actually really enjoyed Sucker Punch lmao.
I really liked it!
the main problem with Rebel Moon is that you're all watching it on mute at x2 speed.
What makes you think that?
To me, this is better than Part 1, but it's not a great movie at all. It was 50 minutes of exposition and rest of it was a big war scene. Hilarious review John!
lol..as bad as this film was, I still wanna see the 3rd film. Snyder struggles when he’s given too much control of a project. I’d like to see him direct something that he DID NOT WRITE!!!!!
You know what will be hilarious? That somebody else directs a Rebel Moon movie and it turns into the best film of this franchise. That alone will be further proof that Zack Snyder is not a good director. 😆😆
He even struggles with source material, for sure he will struggle more with original IPs haha
@@natemarco8318 300 was great & Watchman was as well. But that was before he was given a green light to be himself.
I always cringe when John gushes over Man of Steel.
We all do
Yes it’s fine he likes it an all but “Masterpiece”….ugh
@@ronkmieciak120 it is best film in his snyderverse, bvs was awful script, justice league Snyder cut was good, but not everyone can watch 4 hours long movie and he has unnecessary scenes like Aquaman song that should be cut
It's a legitimate great film whereas BvS & JL are not.
Should I watched rebel moon 2
I liked the music and the second half.
300 is a much better movie that Man of Steel
I don't understand. You didn't like the farming, inane backstory and absolutely terrible attempts at trying to force you to care about the 'love stories' so unbelievable.... makes ER look like romeo and juliet. The action sequences are so badly done... what the hell happened?!?!?!
for all the people that bach about the market stunt of NETFLIX "Release the Snyder Cuts" aint about publicity stunts, its a Directors Cuts release just like old time and its also a violent rated R version with different scenes that was shot for that version
He's a good director, he's just a terrible WRITER. And if it ain't on the page, it ain't on the stage. A cliche, but always true.
It's funny when movie critique starts sounding like a movie just happens to you, like a checkup at the doctor, and if it wasn't painful or awkward and the doctor was friendly I dunno it was kinda okay.
Please for the love of all that is good, don’t release the Snyder Cut
300 and MoS are looking more and more like flukes.
And those were divisive movies
300 was a copy and paste story, MOS was guided by Nolan and written by Goya which is why they are half decent. If he would step away from the pen he would be a success with critics, but his lack of self awareness of his shortcomings is giving NPD vibes
@@martymarl4602 Yup won’t argue with that, clearly ZS needs someone to write him a script and just get him to direct.
@@alexcosta2614 True indeed, but they weren’t written by him which I just found out. Which now makes sense.
You forgot his Dawn of the Dead remake.
”You could chose to stop it” - have some god damn standards and turn it off so they stop doing them for gods sake!
That has been my stance for years
Liking bvs and justice league says everything I need to know
Ray never makes any sense when he speaks 🤣
I think he’s trying too hard to defend the film. It’s okay to say you don’t like a movie.
John's Brother In Law needed a job...

Ray really finds faults in masterpieces
please fix John's camera focus.
Starcrash and the giant mechanical hand in space… Amazing.
Honestly, Titus should’ve been the main character for this movie and Part two not Kora as I do find story Kind of interesting A general of the Empire who have blood on his hands Still cares for his men and honorable (Given that he accept the independence from the Parliament on that planet.) Before being disgrace And left to die. Even though his character is a bit poorly written as well like everyone in this movie, at least I do buy his story and I do wish he was the main character for both films Plus in part two he’s clearly the leader of the group Then Kora herself!
I agree with you!!! 🎯🎯🎯🎯
@@kayskaht2052 Exactly like I said even though Titus is a poorly written character as well at least his character or the general idea of him is interesting pius Djimon Hounsou was actually really good in Part 2 then Part 1.
