As a fellow INTJ, I can totally relate to the social issues he mentions, being pushed to the side and whatnot. And I was definitely smiling something fierce when he said how he'd listen to other ideas unless it was totally stupid. That is EXACTLY something I would say!
You're on a roll with NTs Mike! Although I haven't seen any ENTJs. Can we expect one soon? I'd like to see a real ENTJ female if you can find one. You do a really good job at having accurate types on your show!
Lol, take a pick... I have two ENTJ females in my family. My Aunt, in business and my Mom that works in the judicial system in the States and later with the United Nations. I, however, am the only INTJ in my family after my grandfathers passing. Just the two ENTJs (besides myself) and the rest are SFs.
Hello Ryan, you got me started here; I'm a Christian INTJ like Newton and others and there's good news along with The Good News, it's that unlike Judaism or Islam or others' systems, Christianity is what is very popular with INTJs: a spirituality and a faith about/founded on truths. Especially Protestantism, it's no ritualism like Catholics or Orthodox Churches teach and practice and not legalism either; it's grace, which is freedom from guilt and punishment; it's a love relationship with the wisest, most powerful, benevolent, understanding and faithful being ever, the one who actually made us the way we are. Laws are just here for our self-diagnosis to understand we need to be fixed and remade into a spiritual being instead of a flesh, ego-bound and self-destructive being, with so many limitations. God is the one who leads us to ultimate truth, freedom, love, peace, strength, eternity and efficience as well, multiplying the impact of our little plans into millions of world-changing events. There's still a problem with socializing in church meetings but He's working on that too and turns us into the best version of ourselves, He actually has us share His divine nature! And there's definitely room for debate in Bible studies for example or evangelism or theology classes or also administrative meetings to prepare for a new year; even if some people get emotional. May He who loved You so save and bless you!
Hahaha... I got excited around 13:20 when you mentioned technical vocabulary. When you're writing a paper and using all the terminology for a particular subject...love it.
I am an INTJ. For awhile, I was also an atheist. I am no longer an atheist. The experiences and the research of Dr. Eben Alexander III was one of many different factors that made me abandon physical materialism for spiritual dualism. Do I have everything figured out? No, however as an INTJ, I am always looking for the truth. Dogmatic ideology is not that useful. True skepticism, in my opinion, is a way of figuring out what the truth is. I love your videos Mike. Hope we meet one day.
With that being said, I agree with what Ryan said. Religion, many of the times but not all of the times, is a form of social control which can be destructive. Also, we do not need a God to enforce moral rules since that can fall into our collective hands with ease. Again, I personally came to the conclusion that atheistic physical materialism is flawed. To clarify, atheism does not have to be confined to physical materialism but I find that is the main tendency within that ideological system.
Scott Patrick I am just like you, the dogmatic ideals of many religions is idiotic, so I became an atheist, but then I asked what could create the universe but intelligence.

+jamierphipps1 Arrogance and superiority complex are two different things. The former is an attitude of despising that may come natural to some, but can, with maturity and effort, be eliminated; the latter is a personality disorder characterized by a set of beliefs that the self is inherently better than everybody else and professional attention is required. It amazes me how different individuals within a personality type can be. I'm an INTJ and am very staunch in what I believe and know exactly why I believe that way and how I come to new or change my current opinion. Even still, there is so much Ryan said that I disagree with... I'd honestly love to sit and debate with him.
Am I interested in a full out debate, not particularly as it is 5:11am as I write this, but one thing I have noticed is that I don't expect people to believe what I do, and as I can see throughout this video's comments, other people's difference in opinions runs clear, and is quite diverse! I just wanted to add that although you do disagree with me on certain details and opinions on ideas and such, the way that we've came to our conclusions may be the same. I don't even know if you'll believe me when I say this, but I think that what people believe in doesn't solidify their typing, but how they come to it as far as the steps in one's mind does; as well as how they'll act upon sustaining their thoughts (how they argue and go about things) may help the case.. I may hate something you like, or vice versa. Take a TV show for example; but I bet we may pick apart/dissect/analyze and or critique the other's tastes the same although our likings differ, no matter how dramatic or to what extreme! But in all seriousness, being told as a child to make friends with my classmates was absolutely detrimental. I have maintained no friends from k-12, and I don't miss any of them. I have a few close friends with similar interests right now. It's safe to say I don't like 99 out of 100 people. But if I like 1% of the population, and 1% likes me, and these bonds build on solid ground rather than fear, I will accumulate ONLY strong friendships at a less than rapid rate. I do know what it is to "be nice" and polite. Tragedy of tragedy's, I have a high end customer service job. And I'm good at it. I feel like I'm dealing with live stock that awaits it's own slaughter but must not know, and I must keep the secret. I will now hit play and see if I take issue to any other part of the video.
I'm an INTJ and I beleave in God , I'm actually a muslim :) for those who don't beleave , Isay : "if u didn't find arguments yet , It doesn't mean they don't exist :p , It means just that we have found them before u :3 "
+el khadir chaymae From what i know and understand of INTJs, and from what i know of how I myself think (as i believe i am an INTJ) this is simply not how we think. I believe an INTJ would understand that yes while lack of arguments or evidence does not prove that something cannot exist as this is more or less impossible, that doesn't mean there is any reason to believe that it might or does exist based on the inability to disprove its existence, as if this were the basis for existence you can choose anything and say it exists. Nonetheless it is possible to logically refute specific hypotheticals of a god. however i feel this isn't the place for that discussion.
+notionSlave Lmao...so true. I used to be a Muslim and everyone around me used to make me listen to their boring Takiya, which I pretended to listen to, but I often used to find some loopholes in their arguments that I never disclosed when I was a kid. Now that I am entirely sure that its a load of bullshit, I have openly declared that I am an atheist to the less fanatic ones.
I would have had a huge explanation and story about religion. As an INTJ I grew up Catholic and turned Atheist in Church because it's so boring so instead I think about other things for most of the hour. I was depressed for my March break at the age of 16, when I converted. Of course that was the time when I had to finalize the puzzle. Tie some loose ends. When depressed a person's cognitive thought is increased. Now imagine that on an INTJ. Obsessive. The problem must be solved. From then on I must have had at least 50 or more debates around religion. Later I learned these debates cause more harm than good when I got into psychology/sociology (at least from a day to day life interaction). Now I work on how to deal with people to make my crazy ideas happen so maintaining a neutral perception, by others, help people listen to me. I will just prompt people for knowledge, rumors, etc just to know what's going on in the head of the group to react accordingly. In new social situations, like any situation I do not know or understand, I'm nervous and cautions when I'm forced to act over think. I do not like to act on what I do not know unless I have confidence in the leader. I never make a good first impression but I make a lasting one.
Would love a video on an INTJ female... All these men and no females, a girl might start to develop a complex{LOL}. As such a female I would be very intrigued to see someone like me.
Yanksuk2007 I know we're rare, hence the whole "I'm very intrigued to see someone like me" part of my inquiry... Shakes head. Anyhoo....wondering if there are more like myself who watch these videos and watch from afar the videos on our "male counterparts". I'd be happy to do a video, but it be nice to find others as well as "Older" 30yr+ INTJ's as the younger boys & girls tend to annoy me. I love the interview format as the other videos out there are mostly just incessant ramblings. Very informative, so please continue the awesome work!
Brandy Trimborn Why thank you! I hope I didn't tend to annoy you as much as some others might have! lol I also felt like I could have conducted myself a bit better as far as preparation for some of the questions. I'm also interested in seeing some INTJ type women, perhaps not only in their own interviews, but a video of different ages and genders having a dialectical conversation would be interesting. On NFGeeks, we could make it happen! :D
Ryan Fernandes Hope I didn't offend you with the "annoy" comment, meant it in the fashion that it would be nice to see some older INTJ's, I've yet to meet one in person or see any on RUclips. I've actually watched this video from 2x, you did a good job. I don't know how well I'd do without preparation, sometimes it's hard for us INTJs to put into "the right words" what is being said in our minds without coming off as total nut jobs. Would love to be on one of the conversations;) Let me know when, how and what's on the table for discussion!
Brandy Trimborn Actually, you didn't offend me with that comment, at least not as much as the *shakes head* directed at Yanksuk2007 lol. You're all good! Thank you, and yeah, I never thought of myself as coming off as a total nut job, lol, Although I know that whenever sentences are formed, they seem to never had the complete thought, or at least in my case.. It seems the Introverted-ness doesn't help one when forming sentences, and the meaning of the original thought gets diluted upon the "transferring said thought to speech" process. I'm not sure how you might be able to be in one of the conversations, it all depends where you live, if you're close enough, and such.. If worse comes to worse, Skype (or the equivalent) is always an option! As far as discussion, I'm sure anything you'd like! If you'd like to try a one on one conversation for brainstorming let me know, I'm up for it, but I'm not in charge of NFGeeks, so I can't ensure if things may end up on the site. That is up to NFGeeks with Dr. Mike!
As an INTJ I have to say there is a difference between religion and theism. The God problem is that he has all the power, and if he remove traces of his existence? He's almighty, he can remove himself from our heads in the flick of fingers.
I'm a female INTJ. Too bad there aren't any interviews on here with a female INTJ. But I totally do the breaking down of other people's arguments. Bullet by bullet and can agree/disagree/CORRECT as I find necessary before responding. Also I am VERY particular when choosing words. I think there are specific words that could be used in certain conversations to strengthen one's stand-point. And if I personally expect other to choose their words carefully. So I judge people based on the words they say and it's taken me a longg time to figure out that other people are simply not as efficient in their communication. So I've taught myself to cut others a break and try to understand that what they say may not actually be what they mean. This idea is so abstract to me as an INTJ. Why CAN'T people use the exact words in the exact combinations to be able to say EXACTLY what they mean? This also ties into the social problems some INTJ's face. Other people do not operate how we do. So therefore they no not understand us, and we do not understand them. We think others should do and say what is logical and what makes the most sense. But most human beings are ILLOGICAL and IRRATIONAL. Sadly though, we INTJ's are rare so we're seen as the outcasts and treated like there is something wrong with us. As if we're out of place and should be like others around us. In reality though, we are the types of people who have the most potential to succeed. So maybe our type should be embraced instead of shunned. Food for thought. :)
INTJ female here. I did recognise some of my demeanors/body language/slurs in Ryan's. The cool energy rather than the pushy vibe associated with immature INTJ types. To me, Religion is just another system that aims at organising relationships between people-people and individuals-higher "beings". My brain is just too analytical to "believe" in a "set" of dogmas. However, I do relate on a spiritual level to Animism, Taoism/Confucianism and Buddhism. Nice video :).
im intj and believe in a Creator, I guess I'm in the minority there... I actually LIKE being in the minority, the less im in touch with other people ,even in the domain of ideas, the better I feel. I guess im like Isaac newton in that aspect of life..COOL
Hey Dr. Mike, if you want/need an interview with a female INTJ, who happens NOT to be an atheist, but a person who believes in God, please contact me and I would be more than willing to put forth my best rational and logical capacities to explaining why I hold the views I do ;) Thank you for your always interesting posts!
I can't believe how similar we, INTJs, are! All those questions and answers were spot on. My only difference is that I am not an atheist and I have many solid reasons for believing in God. Einstein was a theist, and I think Newton as well. Having said that, I fully understand the aversion to being told how to live. The only reason it doesn't bother me is because I find the moral reasoning to be right and true.
97GoldDust There is multitudes of evidence. You are too attached to your emotions to see outside the bubble. Just because your teacher told you he's right, does not automatically make him right.
Matt Morris Alright then, show me the evidence. And what teacher? Just because I said there is no evidence for god you assume some random teacher told me this? And if anything, being too attached to emotions is the cause for people for believing in god.
I am an INTJ, and a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. (The Mormons) That being said I can easily understand how a majority of INTJ's come to very different conclusions about life.
I'm an INTJ christian and I applaud you. That girl was cray. Sorry she disrespected you and acted in that matter. I guess you can call us hypocrites in transition ;).
INTJ, female, and I am not an atheist. I try to follow Orthodox Judaism because it contains everything from OCD pleasing rules to all encompassing Kabbalistic views. However I have no interest in officially converting because, well, introvert...and I have no desire to seek out such a cloistered community and bend my behavior to suit theirs...which I know will not last very long. And YES I argue written debate in bullet form too. ^_^
What it due brotha I am an aries intj shout out to my boy Ryan! Let's butt heads now cause this is fun and annoying We're way cool and we don't gas what others think.
Do an on-air google hangout session. It will be recorded and saved to your RUclips channel. The pro being you can have multiple people on at the same time and moderate the discussion. PS> They should all be INTJ with opposing views....just saying...
Good GAWD I need to stop feeding my confirmation bias with all these INTJ videos. XD Not even sure if this is my type... even though I'm 65% sure I am, but ENTP has the same function stack with different charges. Could be an ENTJ as well - I hate all the popcorn sensory bulls*** but I also have an ExTJ's delicate inner feelings and willingness to offer advice. This guy reminds me of me though... scarily.
Thoughts and reasons on why you'd type me as an INTP? I admit I do come off this way in some scenarios. In the cases of appearing apathetic, which may come off as less structured (possibly due to being also a "Type B" personality according to 'pop psych") ..But I digress. I try to be a "P" when thinking, but how I get to my thoughts is still within the realm of a "J", which I sometimes find annoying, because when your value free thought and ideas as much as I do, you hate to be restricted to one area, almost like boundaries you could say which represent the structured mind of a perceiver. Either way, I could be looked at as a less caring INTJ, or an INTP with OCD.. either way, I'm interested in hearing why you think "P" instead of "J".
Ryan Fernandes I can tell by how your eyes and brows are shaped! I hope this is not offensive but as an ENFP I can tell these things intuitively, although sometimes I make mistakes
Ryan Fernandes yeah definitely intp, intj's use extroverted thinking, whenever you go into thought you disengage, and when you act with ne it's loose and gesturing Intj's will keep focused eye contact and Brick like posture, and when they disengage, its zoning out due to introverted perception. Intj's may be introverts and thinkers and judging, but they don't lead with a judging function Intp's lead with introverted thinking, which is a function rather than a dichotomy, and it's a judging function The fun is in fun_ction you can understand the core principles of it all, the mbti socionics ect is all based on jung's functions, the dichotomies are just a quick way to find type, but they do make errors when done poorly. The functions quench the thirst for information more than the dichotomies.
***** Thank you for the backing argument, rather TJ like yourself. lol I am a INTJ. But I may come off as an INTP for what ever reason, either way, the ways I come to my conclusions and gather as well as (ironically enough) "perceive" (for lack of a better term. xD) my information is rather J like. Using facts as a backing argument on top of being not-so-broad of a free thinker. I am stuck in the conundrum which mike fleetingly mentioned. That is when I am given a subject, I am better on elaborating on ideas placed in front of me, rather than formulating newer ideas out of the blue because I work well within the cubical of my mind, but lack the key per-say to work outside of it. You also know you're a J when you get pissed off at Ps for well.. being Ps. lol No offense at all, but the wishy-washy and or indecisive approach is okay, but to me it depends on the subject. I have P friends, who like to do this thing where they say "I'll be over at 5." If that's the case. they should leave early to arrive at 4:55/5:00.. not leave at 5.. or even get there around roughly 7:45. (This has happened before.) Also I think you know you're a J when someone gives you P advice such as "You shouldn't plan as much and let things just happen because when you plan it never goes as planned and you'll be disappointing." I like the advice in theory, and it was given to me earlier today! Now, as a P, you'd understand, as a J.. (at least in my case), I've found myself planning to actually be plan-less.. o.O Do you know how annoying that is? haha Unless I'm totally apathetic and or dispassionate about a certain something and could give two shits less if it comes or goes.. I literally have to make plans and with that spare time, my "non-plans" are basically planning on what I can do in that window to entertain myself.. Like I mentioned before. Stuck in the cubical of my mind.. Any other INTJs have this issue? Or any other J's share this problem? Anyone?
***** The wishy washy approach relates to being on time because I assume when they say "I'll be there at 5.", that basically means they will be there AT that time.. What I assume they take it as, is "eh give or take an hour.." So although they use the terminology used in the sentence "I'll be there at", which makes it seem and to me sound like a concrete fact." vs be there AROUND, which is what I assume they mean. In a sense, I'm just being picky with word choice I suppose, seeing I'm taking what's being said as something they aren't.. or vice versa. And I wasn't trying to be insulting when I said you were approaching such a thing as a TJ with your argument. It was actually a compliment! :D If you're an FP, than you must be a well rounded individual in order to channel and use another type's point of view! I think planning is ideal when it's in accordance to time, because well, that's the point. lol But it doesn't need to be implemented all the time, and I get annoyed with myself most of the time because I can't shake what I'm about to explain in the next paragraph... And for your question, I like questions! I would have to say that it matters who I'm with. I have a friend who is en ESTP, and with him, I can't say that he brings more of a extroverted side of me, but at the same time.. (this may be confusing to explain so bare with me) if the plan calls to meander, than technically I don't have an issue because I look at that as "meandering" is the plan! It's like saying "one can never do "nothing", because when you label "nothing", it then the subject of "nothing" becomes a "something", which is just a paradox within itself.. but I digress.. So in this case, when I know I'm going to be meandering.. I look at meandering as the plan, so therefore I still have a plan.. I don't have an issue doing nothing if I know that's what we'll be doing in a sense, I just hate when like.. a plan falls through and I didn't make a back up, so now I'm left roaming around plan-less.. Agitated, not only due to the let-down of plans falling through, but because I can't just "do things".. I mean, I'll rebound and try to make plans with others, but what usually happens is that they already have plans they've made with others that haven't fallen through (even the Ps), and I'm sitting here like "well what am I supposed to do", and just end up bored, at home, watching TV.
As a fellow INTJ, I can totally relate to the social issues he mentions, being pushed to the side and whatnot. And I was definitely smiling something fierce when he said how he'd listen to other ideas unless it was totally stupid. That is EXACTLY something I would say!

I'm an INTJ and I beleave in God , I'm actually a muslim :) for those who don't beleave , Isay : "if u didn't find arguments yet , It doesn't mean they don't exist :p , It means just that we have found them before u :3 "
el khadir chaymae As if an INTJ would type like that...
el khadir chaymae If you are an INTJ you will grow out of it.

They're rare to come by. Perhaps you could be the one to set the trend!
Brandy Trimborn
Why thank you! :D
Ryan Fernandes
Hope I didn't offend you with the "annoy" comment, meant it in the fashion that it would be nice to see some older INTJ's, I've yet to meet one in person or see any on RUclips.
Brandy Trimborn
Actually, you didn't offend me with that comment, at least not as much as the *shakes head* directed at Yanksuk2007 lol.
The sentence for sentence part with bullet points is spot on what I do lol
He'd look really good with eyeliner.
Did I comment this already? I thought about it at least...
No.. No "he" wouldn't.. o.O lol
I'm an INTJ female too :-)
I'm a female INTJ.
10:07, i am on his team. Here beside my laptop, applauding. I'm fairly certain my grammar is horrendous as well. Hopefully not.
Just remember, there are INTJ Christians. :)
Why wouldn't there be? Personality is unrelated to religious subscription.
I'm an INTJ and I'm a Christian.
I am as well. INTJ.
"You don't say" :O xD
Ryan Fernandes
omg Ryan. XD
What do U mean christian exactly?
Dragon & Co Mosaics Exactly what I said. I’m a Christian.
im intj and believe in a Creator, I guess I'm in the minority there... I actually LIKE being in the minority, the less im in touch with other people ,even in the domain of ideas, the better I feel. I guess im like Isaac newton in that aspect of life..COOL
Aren't you a special little theist snowflake.
90%+ of people believe in god. Not quite a minority.
*****
90%+ of people in the world believe in god. I'm not one of them and I'm also not American. Nice try, though.
watermelonygoodness 90% people believe in THEIR god, not a single god!
Firsticous Lastilicous
Pseudoscience
Hey Dr. Mike, if you want/need an interview with a female INTJ, who happens NOT to be an atheist, but a person who believes in God, please contact me and I would be more than willing to put forth my best rational and logical capacities to explaining why I hold the views I do ;) Thank you for your always interesting posts!
Are all INTJs named Ryan? I'm an INTJ and i just saw another interview with a different Ryan INTJ.
I can't believe how similar we, INTJs, are! All those questions and answers were spot on. My only difference is that I am not an atheist and I have many solid reasons for believing in God. Einstein was a theist, and I think Newton as well. Having said that, I fully understand the aversion to being told how to live. The only reason it doesn't bother me is because I find the moral reasoning to be right and true.
...you don't have any solid reasons for believing in god because their is no evidence for it.
You certainly can't measure God in a lab, so I have to agree with you. However, God is still the only answer to the question of origins.
97GoldDust
There is multitudes of evidence. You are too attached to your emotions to see outside the bubble. Just because your teacher told you he's right, does not automatically make him right.
Matt Morris
Alright then, show me the evidence. And what teacher? Just because I said there is no evidence for god you assume some random teacher told me this? And if anything, being too attached to emotions is the cause for people for believing in god.
97GoldDust
You never went to a secular school that taught secular humanism?
I am an INTJ, and a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.
(The Mormons)
That being said I can easily understand how a majority of INTJ's come to very different conclusions about life.
RCDv57 hey old comment but me too.
What it due brotha
I am an aries intj shout out to my boy Ryan!
Let's butt heads now cause this is fun and annoying
We're way cool and we don't gas what others think.
what happening?
Do an on-air google hangout session. It will be recorded and saved to your RUclips channel. The pro being you can have multiple people on at the same time and moderate the discussion.
PS> They should all be INTJ with opposing views....just saying...
Why did you atop making videos😢
I'm an INTJ female and a Christian. I take it that that means that I'm a very extreme outlier? Not that I'm not already used to that...
Dose not compute!

Sorry but an INTJ would be able to see that religion is ridiculous. I think you are an ISTJ.
SikizuYukia As if an INTJ would accept one of the most silly inconsistent illogical religions on Earth as a core belief. Smh.
Opinion. You might be completely biased (shame on you), or you haven't taken the time to actually properly research it.
Good GAWD I need to stop feeding my confirmation bias with all these INTJ videos. XD
Not even sure if this is my type... even though I'm 65% sure I am, but ENTP has the same function stack with different charges. Could be an ENTJ as well - I hate all the popcorn sensory bulls*** but I also have an ExTJ's delicate inner feelings and willingness to offer advice.
This guy reminds me of me though... scarily.
Did Mike get a little mad at Ryan's atheist comments? ha ha ha.
+ryshenton No, that's a running joke we had between us for a long time, me being annoyed about his atheism.
i dont see a intp
Hey Ryan, I guess you're INTP
Ryan Fernandes yeah definitely intp, intj's use extroverted thinking, whenever you go into thought you disengage, and when you act with ne it's loose and gesturing
Intj's will keep focused eye contact and Brick like posture, and when they disengage, its zoning out due to introverted perception.
Intj's may be introverts and thinkers and judging, but they don't lead with a judging function
Intp's lead with introverted thinking, which is a function rather than a dichotomy, and it's a judging function
The fun is in fun_ction you can understand the core principles of it all, the mbti socionics ect is all based on jung's functions, the dichotomies are just a quick way to find type, but they do make errors when done poorly.
Anyone?
*****
The wishy washy approach relates to being on time because I assume when they say "I'll be there at 5.", that basically means they will be there AT that time..
