My thoughts exactly. It'll take Amorim 2 seasons at least to clear out the deadwood and replace with the players he wants. And that's hoping the club has the funds at this point, with all these ongoing cuts. The sooner he adapts and starts working with these players in a way that helps them put points on the board, the better for him. He'll have most of them next season too.

I said before the manager came i was concerened about the managers tactics of playing 3 at the back as he did at sporting even using wingers at wing back. The question is did we have a team to play that way, No. So why did ineos employ him if we dont have the players to play that way.The answer is they know nothing about football or the team we have. The manager may have to change tactics until he can get a team to play the way he wants.But this may take time existing players on long contacts and high wages. I hope for the manager to do well as i always do but will he have enough time to build a squad to play his way and also where will we be by the time that happens if he does stay. Either way the club is a shambles and run even worse with ineos on board. Lets all get behind the team and manager as we always do and hope for the best, but unless something changes with ownership i dont see this changing for many years.

Ashworth spent and messed up our PSR requirements making it almost impossible for newcastle to strengthen. But i think he could have done something good at MANU with the finances available. Maybe it wasn't practical but he brought in Bruno G, Tonali, Gordon, Barnes and Isak who have fitted into the team for decent money, all less than 69 million each. And they've all fitted in perfectly to what Howe wants. Even though i think it was ugly how Asworth left he worked well with the manager, a lot better than our current DOF... Manchester United missed a great opportunity with him, he's a man who knows what he's doing doing when it comes to buying players that fit. Other than not doing a proper background check on why Milan were willing to sell Tonali and not meeting PSR requirements so we had to sell our best academy players like Elliott Anderson etc, when he left..... he did a good job and left decent players so we can compete until we have the finances to buy again
I don't blame Amorim. The blame is on the club, not sourcing a manager with a system the current squad of players suits. To hear we didn't move on to Amorim in the summer due to his playing style, yet we bring him in mid-season to implement a game that makes 40% of the squad redundant immediately. Amorim will not have the time and patience to see this project through, unfortunately, and we will be left with players for his specific style.

I said before the manager came i was concerened about the managers tactics of playing 3 at the back as he did at sporting even using wingers at wing back.
The question is did we have a team to play that way, No.
So why did ineos employ him if we dont have the players to play that way.The answer is they know nothing about football or the team we have.
The manager may have to change tactics until he can get a team to play the way he wants.But this may take time existing players on long contacts and high wages.
I hope for the manager to do well as i always do but will he have enough time to build a squad to play his way and also where will we be by the time that happens if he does stay.
Either way the club is a shambles and run even worse with ineos on board.

There’s no expectation of this season at all, even before Amorim came in. I’d rather him implement his ideas now that show the board who needs to be sold and where we need to buy than win games here and there playing a style of football we wouldn’t see the following season. Amorim said it himself - we can do that and have these problems this time next year
Ashworth spent and messed up our PSR requirements making it almost impossible for newcastle to strengthen.
But i think he could have done something good at MANU with the finances available. Maybe it wasn't practical but he brought in Bruno G, Tonali, Gordon, Barnes and Isak who have fitted into the team for decent money, all less than 69 million each. And they've all fitted in perfectly to what Howe wants. Even though i think it was ugly how Asworth left he worked well with the manager, a lot better than our current DOF... Manchester United missed a great opportunity with him, he's a man who knows what he's doing doing when it comes to buying players that fit. Other than not doing a proper background check on why Milan were willing to sell Tonali and not meeting PSR requirements so we had to sell our best academy players like Elliott Anderson etc, when he left..... he did a good job and left decent players so we can compete until we have the finances to buy again
I don't blame Amorim. The blame is on the club, not sourcing a manager with a system the current squad of players suits. To hear we didn't move on to Amorim in the summer due to his playing style, yet we bring him in mid-season to implement a game that makes 40% of the squad redundant immediately. Amorim will not have the time and patience to see this project through, unfortunately, and we will be left with players for his specific style.
1 dimensional manager wether they are his players or not he should still be able to adapt another style until he can bring players in.
@wayne5240 That's exactly what Ten Hag did in the first season, but as soon as he tried to implement his style of play, the players struggled, and the performances fell off a cliff. Amorim is doing the right thing, but too much now has to change with the playing staff for it to work.

Then u need Rashford, Ganacho, Zirskee and shaw to be running back and forward no standing upfront like how Ganacho and Rashford always do but u need them to be coverring empty spaces in any oppositional n counter in the middle helping shaw and squizzing the opposition middle giving them no room to breath. This can can only work if Rashford, Zirskee Ganacho and shaw are running back and forward faster and they play two touches max. We can beat both New castle and Liverpool if we can play like this Zirskee is tall and energetic u need him to get the balls in the middle pushing them forward and defending as well falling back. If task isn't there then use Ganacho and Amad pushed by Zirskee and Shaw.

Some important players are due a big performance. We've been off and on all season, it's expected to win along the way, but we due a good day out as well. Leicester, Everton, City, to mention a few. First of all, this 3-4-2-1 is not working for us, why not revert to what serious contenders are doing, what worked for us under Ruud; at a time like this, a Tobias Collyer and Casemiro combination would show you really want to protect your defense. It is times like this fergy called on F. macheda, welbeck, lindergard. Mainoo can start as the playmaker to be replaced by Eriksen later or Mainoo plays all match cos Eriksen always always weakens the midfield.
Put round pegs in round holes, stop deploying players in wrong positions. Keep it simple, this is mid season, this complicated system he's trying to establish with wrong team selection is not helping at all.
