SC ran out of gas. Playing 3 consecutive top 15 opponents, with the 3rd game being on shortened week (Friday), would've been too much for even #1 team in the country.
Was at the game tonight. Utah was so much more physical. You could see the toll it was taking early, which led to all the big plays and SC missed tackles late.
If anyone missed tackles it was Utes because they had several plays where they had QB dead to rights and muffed the tackle because of over pursuing or misjudged angles.
Surprised they are 9-3 in the season tbh they could easily be dominant in the pac 12 (don’t really watch Utah play)but tonight they looked way better than their record

To be honest, even at the beginning of the game I didn't think it looked like USC was going to kill Utah. Yes, the score didn't look good and it did look like the lead was getting a bit too much to overcome completely, but watching the game USC wasn't consistently outplaying Utah. They were winning primarily because of a few key plays. Don't get me wrong, those key plays matter, especially in a difficult game like this one. There was a point where it certainly wasn't looking good. But as a Utah fan I somehow didn't feel as nervous as I normally do because I knew there was a ton more football to play and I knew the score wasn't really reflecting the overall tenor of the game, and I knew that meant Utah was still in with at least a chance. It was scary, but certainly not something I would call a "killing" at any point.
@@hollybigelow5337 as a Oregon fan coming in here all I got to say is congrats to Utah f*** USC that's what you get stinking Lincoln!!! @@hollybigelow5337 definitely was gonna kill them they were up 17-3 with the ball and caleb was hurt on that drive and thats when the game changed . When utah seen him hurt it gave them confidence again and they built momentum off that.
@@rocfitness5747 I know they were up 17-3, but they got to 17-3 by going for it on 4th down multiple times. Also, when Utah got the 3 points they pretty much marched down the field every single play until they got down to about the 5 yard line and stalled. Personally, I wouldn’t call 17-3 enough of a lead to be a “killing.” Now if USC had absolutely dominated Utah in getting to 17-3 that early in the game and it had looked like that was going to be the constant pattern for the whole game and USC was say blowing Utah off the line consistently on both sides of the ball and was converting every time they had a 3rd down then yes, I would say the 17-3 lead that early would have looked like the were going to kill Utah. But even though it certainly looked like an overwhelming lead that might be just too much to overcome in the rest of the game, seeing that out offense was absolutely able to move the ball on their defense and also seeing that USC HADN’T CONVERTED A SINGLE 3rd DOWN yet did not make it feel, at least to me, that USC was on track to “kill” Utah. On track to likely beat Utah? Sure. But even at that point it was pretty clear USC couldn’t keep up the same ratio of scoring against Utah for the rest of the game. Plus, you have to remember that USC had the ball first at the beginning of the game, so a 17-3 lead is really only more like a potential 10-3 lead until after the first drive of the second half when possession of the ball has evened out. That early on the game, a 17-3 lead to me was only a little more than a 10-3 lead, which is a one score game. That is not a killing, and it also isn’t being in the game with no chance. If Utah had been up that early with a 17-3 lead abs had the ball first I would not have felt even remotely comfortable, UNLESS Utah was making USC go 3 and out every single time the touched the ball with plenty of tackles for loss and was walking all over them on offense become Offensive Line was winning the battle of the line so badly that it didn’t matter if they could predict our play calling, they still wouldn’t be able to beat us. Like I said, the 17-3 lead didn’t feel good, and it certainly felt like with an opponent as good as USC that we might never be able to overcome it, but when I looked at all of the factors that contributed to USC ‘s lead I never for one minute felt like USC would blow Utah out. In fact, even at that point I felt the MAXIMUM lead USC could possibly have by the end of the game was 14 points, and I felt like even though the odds of them winning were high, I was pretty confident it was more likely if they won it wound be by 7 points or less.

None, whatsoever. if you don't believe this, you should go back & listen for yourself. Those guys were clearly, CLEARLY all in on USC winning that game. Again, go back and listen. It was blatant. @@dantekyle1775 That nail-salon bit made me want to 🤮. Both those guys with Caleb want to be his fluffer. Then, there was Caleb referring to *himself* as a "superstar." 🙄
Well the one thing this game for sure proved more than anything else is that Caleb Williams is USC’s entire offense. The second he injured his leg and couldn’t run, the game was over. He was just left to die in the pocket as his receivers did nothing to help him out and Austin Jones was stuffed. I honestly thought they should have put Miller Moss in the game in the third quarter because Williams was clearly way too injured to play.
I'm not a USC fan but who the heck is number 7 for USC the safety he stinks, that pathetic display of a tackle on that tight end that ran all the way for a touchdown was pathetic. Then on Utah last touchdown run number 7 couldn't make the tack on that that guy is terrible.
@@anartistnamedmatthew1849 that's an understatement if I ever heard one. I don't think he'll ever hear the end of this game for the rest of his playing career tbh. They bust that ass. Looked like at first USC was gonna run away with this one, but Utah came roaring back from down 17 to 3. Complete domination from the 2nd quarter on after the fumble, that 3rd and 19 conversion for a TD really took the air out of the Trojans. They were not the same after that and the defense for Utah really put it on Williams, they gave up only 7 points in the 2nd half. He looked like he could barely plant his feet to run the ball or drive a pass, toughed it out when he shouldn't have cuz he was hurting his team.
I've watched usc all season and knew how bad their defense is and almost expected this. I just didn't know Caleb was gonna get hurt and it end up a total disaster.
They beat them bad! Not because they are a better team because they came in and wanted to win and wanted it more! they took their hearts away!!! Missed tackles after tackles!! Good win Utah
Entire momentum flipped when Riley went for it on 4th and 8, up 17-3----after that fail, Utes just took it to USC and in the 2nd half opened up that can of whip ass on that tissue paper defense.
Trojan fan here. Utah is a BEAST & Ohio State deserves to go back in to the Final Four. Actually, let Utah get that 4th spot & drop us out of the top 25 altogether. 😖
I won't lie, watching the first quarter, I pretty much gave the Trojans the win. I actually quit watching. I looked back later on and the Utes were ahead. Then I looked again a bit later and saw the onslaught score. I almost shat myself. Congratulations Utah. 🏈👍
As a Husky fan I was kind of rooting for USC so we could get a little better bowl, but OSU or PSU better look out for them Utes in the Rose Bowl. USC played a good half, but Utah played a great game.
USC's defensive backs kept trying to strip the ball and continually allowed big gains because of that. If they had tried harder to tackle Ute's players instead of stripping they might have been able to win.
Never underestimate the underdog! Utah, Oregon State come back fighting!!! I hope USC doesn’t fans don’t think they were ripped off like the Oregon fans tout. If you want it bad enough you can win!
Man I have to give it to Utah. They were down at the beginning and Williams and USC looked like they would run away with it. But with a upset Utah did it. Overcame it all. This season should be the season of Upsets
I'm a big USC fan, and I wanted a 35 to 3 lead before I would be able to relax. I know how bad USC's defense sucks. USC was having to score fifty points a game to win, all season.
Three ranked opponents in three consecutive weeks. That is what I think happened. I think that was a big part of why Alabama lost to Texas A&M in 2012.
Love that USC 18, right after sacking Cam Rising and dissing Utah (the U going down sign), then on the next play (9:06) throws a block for Money Parks that frees him for a touch down :D :D :D
Cant blame Caleb Williams for this, i meant what else he supposed to do but nonetheless you cant ignore how resilient Utah is. They are the definition of Down but not Done
As an Lsu fan this kinda hurts. Like they had a great opportunity to be in the playoffs, granted we still have Georgia so regardless we probably would’ve been out. But still, being a top four team in the first year of Brain Kelly would’ve been cool to see.
Hello Huge college football fan, I am. Not too big on PAC 12, but I love and try to follow the sport and try to watch games objectively. Greetings from Mississippi!!! .Home of the Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils!!! Did any of you notice early in the first quarter on that long Williams run that set up the second USC TD, where the receiver, I think #81 used great discipline and avoided doing what we once called a "peel back block"? Instead he positioned himself in front of the Utah defender.
Kinda of a karma game for Utah. USC and all the transplants from OU, including the HC, came out on fire. Then the Utes turned the momentum against them and crushed it. What a game !
Although it can be done, it is very hard to beat three ranked opponents in consecutive weeks, even if you’re a ranked team. Georgia had a run of three ranked opponents in three weeks in 2008 and lost the third game 49-10. South Carolina had one in 2012 and lost the third game 44-11. Alabama had one in 2012 and somehow or another lost the third game by only five points in the last of those games. Tennessee had four ranked opponents in a row in 2016 (although the first two games were against teams in the 21-25 range) and lost the fourth one 49-10. In the weeks leading up to this game, USC had #18 UCLA, then #15 Notre Dame in the two weeks before this.
Thank you for your feedback. I stand by my statement that it is very hard to beat three ranked opponents in separate weeks, although I agree with Blood Bath & Beyond that I should have done more research rather than just post examples off the top of my head. I remember a 2016 Alabama superteam pulling off this feat, and Georgia did it last year.
So i didnt get to watch then1st 2nd 3rd qtr till i got home on the 4th. Watching this highlight now i know how my TROJANS lost. So much miscues. We played sloppy. O line needs more work. The play action pass and runs were good. Couldve been effective if they kept it that way and consistenly moving the chains. And no offense if travis dye was in this game it wouldve been another problem for UTAH. For sure we wouldve won this. Now on defense sooo much missed tackles its crazy to see WR and their RB broke all those tackles. If we were able to contain that we couldve slowed them down and stopped them. Its ok boys we'll get it next year! FIGHT ON!! ✌🏽💛❤

It wasn’t even just the defense that Oline was 🗑️ it got torched all night 😬
I want to ask Keyshawn Johnson and Colin Cowherd how they're doing right about now? LoL! 😂😂😂
2 years in a row, Utah plays spoiler to the top team of the Pac-12. Last year, it was Oregon. This year, USC... I'm sticking to being an Oregon fan. However, Utah (and Colorado) being added to the Pac-10 has been a fantastic addition, in my opinion. Great highlights, yet again!
As an OU fan go Utah
Every miss tackle by #7 in the 2nd half ended up a touchdown
yup.. shoulda been flagged in the 3rd for the late shove in the endzone
Every single 1! As an ex free safety myself! I’m very angry at the safety play this game!
@@SpecklebellyHQ Thank you pointing this out. I saw that when the game was on and thought that the refs had let #7 get away with a late hit on that play.
@@SpecklebellyHQ I noticed that too and thought the same thing.

I almost always roll my eyes when i hear fans decrying announcers for their lopsided commentary, or what they perceive as rooting for their opponents, but ima keep it real. First, I want to make it crystal clear, I have absolutely no emotional interest between either of these these 2 teams. None, whatsoever. if you don't believe this, you should go back & listen for yourself. Those guys were clearly, CLEARLY all in on USC winning that game. Again, go back and listen. It was blatant. You could hear how disappointed they were once it became obvious Utah was getting that W.
Agreed. It was blatantly obvious who they were rooting for.
First time
All I heard pregame. Even showing them get their nails done. I rather watch my WWE Smackdown than that bullshit.
@@dantekyle1775 That nail-salon bit made me want to 🤮. Both those guys with Caleb want to be his fluffer. Then, there was Caleb referring to *himself* as a "superstar." 🙄
Will you be doing highlights for the FCS playoffs as well (if that isn't the CCG or G5 thing you talked about)?
I love when USC gets pummeled! Way to go UTES!!! Great win. Dominant physical victory! Way to punch USC in the mouth!!!
You must be a trash UCLA fan lmao maybe next year losers
Utah boldly describes the term, "Never Give Up". And that was the case here. They never gave up. Congratulations Utah!!
True, I don't think he's been healthy for at least 2 games prior to this...
I'm not a USC fan but who the heck is number 7 for USC the safety he stinks, that pathetic display of a tackle on that tight end that ran all the way for a touchdown was pathetic.
Then on Utah last touchdown run number 7 couldn't make the tack on that that guy is terrible.
@@pp3k3jamail Calen Bullock, he’s actually a really good player, was a freshman All-American last year. Just played poorly this game
@@anartistnamedmatthew1849 that's an understatement if I ever heard one. I don't think he'll ever hear the end of this game for the rest of his playing career tbh. A regular season game, he mayyyy have gotten a pass (no pun intended). But the PAC-12 championship and your team's playoff hopes on the line? Big yikes 😬
@@anartistnamedmatthew1849 can't buy that one Playa, if he was freshman all American last year he's sophomore 3rd string this year with that kind of game...any one actually worth they're weight if they're not injured doesn't underperform that poorly, I hope he's not on the take 😒
Utah went on a 44-7 run to closeout this game. Humiliating way for USC to blow a playoff spot.
I went to the UCLA Utah game and thought Utah had no chance against SC after they narrowly beat UCLA. But Utah showed up, congrats.
I'm a Utes fan and I thought the same thing. Lol
Same here. I actually had money on USC to win, but I'm glad I lost it lol
When your entire team is one player, and he can't go the full 60.
My sentiments exactly
You saved me 3 hours! Thanks VV
USC got wrecked and I couldn't be happier!! Go UTES!!!
They beat them bad! Not because they are a better team because they came in and wanted to win and wanted it more! they took their hearts away!!! Missed tackles after tackles!! Good win Utah

@@hatchetbeast-uz7qw you know what I give you that 💯
Entire momentum flipped when Riley went for it on 4th and 8, up 17-3----after that fail, Utes just took it to USC and in the 2nd half opened up that can of whip ass on that tissue paper defense.
big game Riley strikes again
The way number 47 did in 76 was wild 😮
I bet Oklahoma fans are laughing their asses off about now.
We are.

Wow!!! They really put it to USC in this game.

As a Husky fan I was kind of rooting for USC so we could get a little better bowl, but OSU or PSU better look out for them Utes in the Rose Bowl. USC played a good half, but Utah played a great game.
There is that grinch defense!
USC's defensive backs kept trying to strip the ball and continually allowed big gains because of that. If they had tried harder to tackle Ute's players instead of stripping they might have been able to win.
Grinch Teaches This garbage type of play apparently.... It was our downfall his whole time at OU also smh
I think your wrong? Because I know how bad usc's defense has played all year.
Never underestimate the underdog! Utah, Oregon State come back fighting!!! I hope USC doesn’t fans don’t think they were ripped off like the Oregon fans tout. If you want it bad enough you can win!
Well when you 'copy & paste' OU... you find out
Congratulations to Utah Utes. They played hard and disciplined.

Did any of you notice early in the first quarter on that long Williams run that set up the second USC TD, where the receiver, I think #81 used great discipline and avoided doing what we once called a "peel back block"? Instead he positioned himself in front of the Utah defender.
USC against Georgia would've been ugly
USC ravens.... but that Williams injury hurt them for sure and the defense just got done in.
Kinda of a karma game for Utah. USC and all the transplants from OU, including the HC, came out on fire. Then the Utes turned the momentum against them and crushed it. What a game !

Strange announcer talk 🤔
You're cherry picking. Now include all the successful three game streaks. In fact one of your own examples is a 3 game winning streak lmao
good excuse though. dont ever compare to years past sounds pathetic

FIGHT ON!! ✌🏽💛❤
