This was such a useful video! Concise, focused, and answered my (admittedly basic) questions about lighting really clearly. I appreciated the way you visually showed the differences and also that you explained the methodology (because until you did, I was assuming you had made other adjustments to highlight the differences). You also gave advice on related questions I didn’t know to ask. Probably one of the best beginner videos I have run into while researching my new desk set up. Thanks so much!!
@@WonderfulIda Thank you so much! I've just started producing some philosophical videos on my YT channel so I'll keep watching you for more inspiration! Appreciate your support and insight.
Helpful video! I've only used a ring light... and I've never really thought about other options... I often feel like it over-exposes my face so I've wondered!!
Just came across this video. Please I have a Ringlight already but I want a better lightning for my makeup videos. Which is the best between a soft box light and a led light, or should I continue with my Ringlight ?
Additional lights to your ring light would help. You can get a colour light for your background and a soft box or led light for a back light or fill light. I would pick a light with the most powerful output.
You can also use some kind of white sheet (or a real diffuser, or transparent white umbrella) on the lights to make them more diffused and get a softer light, or turn it to full power and reflect it on the wall too
Great video! I actually don't like the ring in the eye that a ring light causes since it is unnatural. (Unless I'm shooting a Halloween video). Am I the only one who doesn't like that?
It definitely doesn't look natural, but I can see the advantage to it. I remember the first time I saw the catch light it creates I wanted to have it in all my shots. The novelty has warn off since.
Thanks, great video, informative and you did a great job delivering the information. I am searching for best lighting performance for my $75 budget for home office Vlocging. I was looking for panel, vs ring vs light box lighting ...came upon your channel. It was a subscribe for me.... going to now check out your Ring vs Light box video
Very informative - the comparison was amazing! I've had a ring light for years and I do like it, but I think I will position it more overhead from now on instead of having the camera in the middle. Thanks for the tips!
Depends how sensitive to light your eyes are and how bright you have the ring light turned on. Personally I use an elgato key light and have it turned down low

Thank you. That’s a really sweet comment. Happy to help. And if you’re looking for a desk light I love my elgato key light. Look it up.
Oooh I didn't know about the differences between both! This is so good to know! Love your tips!
Deifnitely have just been thinking about this! Thanks Ida for this succinct comparison!
i got hypnotized when i was looking at the ring lite in your eyes- great comparison !
What lighting are you using in the master shots here? (i.e. when you're the most brightly lit, @3:35, for example). Thanks!
I have a video where I show that setup. Here you go. ruclips.net/video/g7XzAmHjbrM/видео.html and welcome to my channel. I’m happy you’re here!

Ida your videos are amazing. So clear, to the point, and helpful for beginners like me haha!! Thank you for sharing this!!
Great. So happy you found it helpful.
Thanks for sharing! I don't use any additional lighting right now but may consider for the future!
Ive just started using my ring light and sometimes just the natural light. Its good to see the difference of the LED too.
I had to watch this video twice as I kept getting distracted by the sweet intonation of your voice 😅thanks for sharing valuable info 👍
Thank you. That’s so kind of you.
Great video. Very concise and informative. Thanks.
I loved how you did the different comparisons, that was SO helpful! Great video!!! 😀

If you feel the light is too bright you can either dim it or just move it further away from you it's all about the distance between you and the light.
this is sooo helpful!!! I love the quality of your video as well as the info you shared.
Nice and practical.
I needed to understand the difference between these lights! Thank you for explaining this! My videos will be better!
I had no idea the difference between the two but always wondered! Thank you so much!
NICELY DONE!!! I didn´t know the difference and very helpful!

This is a a must for everyone to see!
this is such great content and guidance. thank you!
I've always wondered which I should use. Thank you.
That was informative, thank you for this Ida!
I wasn't sure what the difference was! Thanks for this informative video
Love it. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks you, clear enough for mi!
Which light are you going to get?
@@WonderfulIda I'll try LED. ruclips.net/video/VxpR8OS38ws/видео.html to see if I can improve my setting.
This was very helpful thanks!
Which one is the best for food photography?
Led panel for sure. You can do much more with it.
@@WonderfulIda thank you so much 💗
I just got a new Elgato Key Light and it is SO different from my Ring light! I am trying to figure it out still haha!
Love these ideas! Now we're leaning towards having LED Panel!
Right! It looks so natural. I really like the look.
Love the illustrations of the differences!
Thank you, Ida - Clear review.
Thank you. The simpler the better. Which light are you going to go with?
Great examples and info.
Great breakdown!
What lighting setup did you use for the intro and conclusion? Don't think it was the ring light.
No I use my led panels they are led 660.
Very good video!
This is awesome!
What is your lighting setup for your RUclips channel like in this video?

Thanks. I would also suggest checking out the dual ring light with that budget. I have a video on it as well.
Packed with awesome information! I love my LED light kit mostly because I wear glasses. Thanks for your great content!
Peace to you too, Ida.
Yun po pla ang difference po nilang dalwa po lods now I know

Yes it creates more of a natural look. I suggest putting it to one side from above slightly titled down.
My issue with my ring lights is that they flicker….😅 I just need a midrange price ring light that will not flicker
I found this one that I like amzn.to/4aASlzQ
Do they hurt your eyes?

*adds LED panel to Amazon shopping cart*
Yes and make sure you pick on with a high LED number.
I love led. I use themakeuplight.com. Great video.
