Those random phrases on the side are great! Novel idea that helps improv and inspiration, love it and need more like that in these kind of books :)
I've downloaded the PDF on my channel showing how I organized it into folders.
I love the book… it’s made very well and I love paging thru it. I’ve no trouble with the pdf version scrolling properly in any orientation on my iPad Pro . The print in the physical copy is made a bit bigger than previous versions which is a welcome change. The “Apophenia” engine (prompts in the outer edges of the pages) are quite intriguing and also a welcome addition.
I've really enjoyed the prompts on the side of each page. I like to open to a random page, write down all the words, and try to incorporate each one into my campaign slowly as I play.
This is the video I've been waiting for.
I just ordered the book between you and Joe the Lawyer's reviews of the book. This ios not the firsat time the two of you (and Questing Beast) got me absolutely amped for a book that I immediately purchased.

I found WAY too many typos and inconsistencies within the whole book. Especially the random phrases that (quite a few times) stretch over onto another page. Capital and small letters on words are mixed and matched without a certain pattern. As a revised edition I was a bit disappointed. Especially as I already owned the predecessor. And I would have also enjoyed a lot more illustrations in this book. I personally find it a missed opportunity.
Haven’t looked enough to see the typos but that is disappointing-
I was a bit bummed that there was really no new content aside from the random words and phrases but it is hard to knock it for that because there is just so much there to start with…
I was hoping for new content too. That's why I backed the Kickstarter in the first place. It is still a good book, but my initial remark remains valid: A missed opportunity.
glad it got revisited super useful book!
Also love these overviews :)
Would you consider this a more complete solo tool over the Ironsworn rule book (Delve included)?
Yes, just in terms of sheer content. Also, another great resource to consider is UNTOLD ENCOUNTERS OF THE RANDOM KIND.
You just sold a copy of this book to a legally blind guy who has to break out a 7x magnifier and hold it and the book up to his face to use a printed book that isn't basically double-sized. I _can_ use the PDF, but I need this book on my shelf, just in case I need to grab it for a minute and come up with something faster than I could do it with the PDF alone.
If I keep watching your videos I'm going to have to get another job. How do you find the time to read, review and play all the great systems you cover? Have you ever looked at The Covetous Poet's Adventure Creator?
Look at the time stamp on my vid… and that was a day I slept “in.”
I make good use of my poor sleeping lol.
The Covetous Poets Adventure Creator is great and I guess I never did a vid on it? Maybe I should…
I discuss it as a recommended resource in my SOLO GAME MASTERS GUIDE.
Hi there! Love your channel! It's been so helpful in developing my new hobby. I only just stumbled on your channel a few days ago and the question I'm about to ask has most likely been addressed in another video of yours so I'm sorry if you've already been asked this a million times:
I feel like I get a tad overwhelmed with learning all the rules of a given gaming system (I'm trying to run with Pathfinder 2e) and I was wondering what advice you have for how you go about learning all the rules of a system without feeling like you have to constantly refer back to the rule book to check if you are doing it right. Of course when I play with a group of people I always relied on the DM/GM to let me know if I was doing things correctly, but when I try solo I find I spend a lot of time having to go back and look up rules constantly which kinda pulls me out of the game's encounter.
Thanks in advance! If anybody else has any input, please feel free to give advice. This question is for all people here watching the channel 🙂
Welcome to this interesting niche of the hobby and glad you are enjoying my content. The short answer is that I don’t think you have to remember tons of rules and in general for the soloist I think going with systems that are more rules light enhances the development of narrative.
I have a chapter in my solo guide on working with big rule sets and I think I have a vid up here on Pathfinder that you might find of use but it is hard to give all that info in just a comment.
Hey, I just thought I'd let you know that it took me a second to correctly parse your username. I first read it as "Cthulhu wanging in the deep." I had a moment of hilarity trying to picture that. I actually like my version better, you might consider changing yours. Just thought I'd let you know.
How would you feel this compares to Worlds Without Number? The system neutral, random table generation is what brought WWN to mind.
I have yet to look at WWN…
@@GeekGamers01, a huge amount of random generation tables for multiple reasons and a free PDF on Drive Thru RPG. 👍
@@TheQrstOne Thanks I will check it out.
Thank you very much Geek Gamers. I have one problem. Every time I see your videos I want to buy the book!
And I have a question. Would you like to do a video about Kult Divinity Lost? Maybe it is not your cup of tea.
Thank you for your work,
take care and be well.
Alicia from Sweden.
Thanks for the suggestion & glad you enjoy my content. You are right tho that that game isn’t really my copy of tea… so likely no vid on that, sorry
