So simple question: If the Ninetails is evil, then does that mean that Naruto could just use Shadow Clones to become the 13 darknesses and just fight like seven other clones of himself that aren't as douchy to do the thing that Xehonort took an entire lifetime, time travel, and a fuckload of games to accomplish?
So if I'm hearing this right, there have been four different known methods of getting into Kingdom Hearts/getting the keeeeeeeeeyblade: the thing Xehanort did in Birth by Sleep where you pit pure light against pure darkness, the thing Ansem did in KH1 with the princesses, the thing Xemnas did in KH2 where you get a bunch of hearts together and break a hole into Kingdom Hearts, and the 7-vs.-13 thing in 3D. Why have none of the different Xehanorts tried any of these plans more than once? Do you only get one shot for each one? Even if you do, this guy can time travel, so he can get any number of do-overs that way.
The only time the True Kingdom Hearts appeared was the BBS event, what Ansem had was just the Door to Darkness, and the one in KH2 was an incomplete Kingdom Hearts. So Xehanort's two plans are the only currently known methods of getting True Kingdom Hearts. I don't know much about the Chi and the other version other than the one of 0.2, so there might be a third method that I don't know of.
@@billvolk4236 Forging the 'X'-Blade is the only confirmed method of evoking Kingdom Hearts. Xemnas using Sora, Roxas, and Xion to slaughter hundreds/thousands of Heartless released enough stray hearts to be 'duct-taped' together in order to manufacture a make-shift 'Kingdom Hearts'. 7 Guardians of Light fighting against 13 Vessels of Darkness is the confirmed method of forging the 'X'-Blade. 2:46:29 "And in fact, through this process. All of Sora's almost all also, all the Sora's, also almost all became Xehanort's. Real close. Real close for this all just being everyone the same guy. We barely missed it." I think about this statement daily.
Bobby Jenkins convoluted*^ so let’s go back to spelling class kiddo. But yes. It is so. But who minds it really. When at the end if it was linear and simple it wouldn’t be bad. But it wouldn’t be what it is today. I love the mystery and magic of it all.
The professor needs to learn to drink from a glass without slurping air down with it as at 4:55 and 5:20. This individual, like many born since c.1990, was probably brought up on glugging from a bottle, so he's used to having a seal around his mouth when he drinks. With a glass you have to actually tilt the glass carefully and pout your lips to provide a spout for the water to enter the oral cavity without spillage. It's a relatively advanced technique. Sucking the water from the rim of the glass leads to the ingestion of air along with the water which then leads to the inconvenient and sometimes painful or embarrassing experiences consequent to air entering the gut, i.e. to trapped wind, as at 6:10. Especially for any public speaking appointment it's crucial to be able to drink water competently from a traditional drinking vessel. Absolutely crucial. There's no way this professor and his amateurish hydration methods would get tenure in my department. No way.
I think this video perfectly explains why people say (incorrectly) that the story of kingdom hearts is confusing. The story itself isn't complex, but the problem is that people try to explain things out of order. This series absolutely must be played in order of release, otherwise you don't have the small details that are important. Even in this explanation he keeps forgetting small details that end up being important later.
Chaotic Heretic I don't know, maybe I have a weird mind, but I always found it easier to understand when the story itself is told in order, as in, having Birth by Sleep be first. Then again, Nomura just makes everything up as he goes.
It's a fucking game where a lolli boy runs around with cartoon animals fighting other cartoons as presented through the gaze of an edgy teenager, that's why no one cares about "the story".
Axeshizzle my friend got me through MGS in about two hours, though I did have partial knowledge of 1, 3, and 5 under my belt. A full lecture would probably take as much time as this one and would be amazing.
This bonkers shit makes MGS seem like a straightforward, predictable hollywood action movie so it would probably really fucking easy to do in comparison. Hell, I've explained MGS to people, it's pretty doable. MGS2 would probably take the vast majority of that time though, lol.
This is the first video I've seen from this channel. I watched all three hours, I've played every single kingdom hearts game, and it's also 3:30 AM. And I've loved every second of it.
I would love if when KH3 is out you go into the journal in the game and click on "back story" and it's just this video starts playing from start to finish with no way to exit it.
I love how a good portion of the fanbase knows that swaths of KH are largely not so great, even approaching awful, but adore it anyway. That's not something you see often and it's a lot of fun. You can't have edgy Nomura teens pairing up with fucking Goofy and not have a sense of humor about everything. It actually reminds me a bit of Rocky Horror fans. The source material is so goddamn dorky... which is largely the appeal! ...except for the excellent dramatic moments from time to time. Those are nice bonuses.
The Kingdom Hearts narrative is broken beyond repair at this point, it's so horrible that I can't care about it anymore. However the gameplay is top-notch and that will probably always be something I care about.
KH1 is still pretty solid especially considering how it was probably the first real time menu RPG. I think most people who think the game is outright are mostly just spoiled on how much clearly better and smoother of an experience later games would become.
To this day, this lecture remains excellent. I love how it's only about an hour of plot explanation and then two hours of "But wait...*insert question*". Also, best line is "I've keeping tabs on that 'everyone is Sora and Xehanort' the whole time."
Can we talk about how much respect BGE commands at 2:35? Keeps a smile on his face, doesn't say a word, and absolute obedience is given to him. Incredible.
Wild to think this video was my introduction to the PCP! I first saw this video in the backyard of a burger place by the beach in South Florida in 2017. What a massive impression it was to see this and then actually watch it! It reignited my interest in the series and got me to emulate the games I hadn't played yet and I've thoroughly enjoyed how much my experience of Kingdom Hearts was deepened by this video. As for the PCP, immersing myself in all of that has been a really big part of the past 5 years, which is wild to say. I know it's kinda over mostly, but I'm still very grateful I was along for the ride and got to meet a loot of cool people and improve my art by being involved in this sphere. It's just wild to think about how seeing a random youtube video could end up impacting my life so much. Wild. Anyways, great lecture. Thanks for making it! It's still great. Cheers.
I have a lot to say about this video, all good things. I have been a huge KH fan my entire life and know the series insanely well, and have watched many videos of people discussing the series, and this has to be my favorite one. On RUclips, there is a lot of original content but the originality in this video is so interesting. Having a lecture was just such a fun way to explain the KH series, and the way the professor (idk his name) explained it was so funny but also well spoken. He had to be on track for 3 hours which is insanely hard to do. Furthermore, I loved the audience members because they offered very good questions while also really enjoying their time in the lecture. I think this is one of the most original videos I have ever seen on RUclips and I am amazed that me and so many others were able to sit through the entire 3 hours. I love this video so much, gonna binge watch this channel, and keep being awesome! P.S. This was uploaded on my birthday 😎
While the story does get completely bonkers later on, there's still a lot of really clever storytelling and character moments that still make it pretty good, albeit extremely confusing. Except time travel. Fuck.
It's not perfect, definitely not perfect, missed or muddled some details, but I think you *definitely* did a good enough job for sure. You took on a monstrous task, and I applaud you, BGE. The people needed this, and you did well. This was awesome. ...Totally Simple and Clean. Also, I'd personally suggest KH 1.5, 2.5, and then 2.8 when that comes out. It makes it simple too, because Coded and 358/2 just become cutscene movie things, so you don't actually have to play em'. That is basically all you need. BBS is probably worth playing, and so is DDD, they can be fun, and they come with 2.5 and 2.8 respectively.
OnimaxBlade Hard disagree on 358/2 days in the ReMix though. The movie version was abysmal, made only slightly better from the recent addition of the final boss fight.
Needed to brush up before I get my hands on KH3 tomorrow (never played most of the games other than 1 or 2), and this was absolutely wonderful. Thank you
I love the confession at 2:11:35. It’s like I am in a college class like 2/3 done with my degree and my professor just revealed that everything he has taught us was wrong and useless.
I'm a little sad you skiped over the part where Sora and Riku, after murdering the fuck out of Xemnas get stranded in the realm of darkness, resign themselves to DIE there, but SOMEHOW Kairis message that she droped into the ocean at the begining of the fucking game, reaches them and SOMEHOW that opens a pathway back to Destiny Island.
"Data Riku?" "Oh, well, that was just for fun." Haaaaa. "What about the Organization 13 members who didn't get resurrected?" "I don't think Nomura gives a shit about Marluxia, Luxord..." Haaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I think you missed that when Vanitas/Ventus was defeated, the Chi-blade split into 20 parts. 13 pieces of darkness, and 7 pieces of light. That's why there must be 13 seekers of darkness and 7 warriors of light.
Due to that version of X-blade being forged from a heart full of light and a heart full of darkness, it didn’t shatter to pieces, it was absolutely destroyed (since Aqua beat Ven-Vanitas to unconsciousness), it wasn’t the original X-blade, that one was from the war.
AGuyWithGames Precisely, and since that imperfect version didnt work Xehanort decided to revise his plans and instead of making another "fake" X-Blade he decided to try and reforge the original.
And there's another small thing in the series that was not touched on in the video, but keyblades, or keychains, can, indeed, be forged and powered up through synthesis. Hence, the Ultima Weapon. It may be in-game lore, but it should be considered when thinking about all of these fucking keyblades that make their way into the games randomly. So, Xehanort is essentially forming the X-blade using a similar method to synthesis, but he's using much more powerful and canonically correct materials, 13 pieces of darkness, and 7 pieces of light.
arcaneous1 You only forge Ultima Weapon’s keychain, but you’re not wrong. It’s been stated that they were all forged in the image of the original X-blade (which to this day, has never been seen, unless the X-blade Ven-Van had actually looked like the original). Though I’m not sure if Xehanorts plan is what he wants, he’s making his own 13 pure darknesses, yet we never knew what happened to the actual 13, where the original pieces went.

Was it a coincidence or a stroke of genuineness, that Guy stood in a way, where for the majority of the shots (haven't seen the whole video yet), was positioned in front of the Sakamoto poster. Who's arguably the best boy ever.
I was gonna watch 30 minutes. 3 hours later, I watched plenty of these explanation videos, but this was not only the most enjoyable, but the most engaging and informative. I actually feel like I could buy 3 without The Story So Far and be caught up. I won't, but I feel like I can. Thank you
Best Guy ever just gave the best lecture ever. Although you never explained that Diz was original Ansem. I'm kinda ashamed that I noticed that. But I'm even more ashamed that you didn't follow the syllabus correctly professor.
Great video man! :) dont know if I could sit there and teach some people the entirety of the story, or even get them to sit through it, but their were a few things that were slightly wrong just thought I would point them out for you to know. -The 7 Lights and 13 Darknesses comes from the X-blade being destroyed and breaking into 7 pieces of light and 13 Darkness -The X symbol on Sora in DDD was placed on by the hooded Ansem SOD when they first enter DI. -Riku looks like ASOD in KH2 because he uses and allows for darkness to take him over in order to capture Roxas. -Aqua and Terra put Riku and Kairi (accidentally when she touches her keyblade, not through the charm) through the Keyblade ceremony explaining why they are able to use keyblades it doesn't give them their Keyblade when they die and this in general is how everyone is able to use a Keyblade too. (Other than Sora, Roxas, and Xion) -Also the Keyblade formed from the princesses of light would only work completely and would only reveal the keyhole to Kingdom Hearts with all 7 princess of light, the keyblade was still able to be formed with 6 lights. -The light from the DTD is technically Kingdom Hearts or one version of Kingdom Hearts, not just light, this is only one version of KH and not (technically) the real version. KH has been formed 3 different ways in the series KH1 with the hearts of Worlds KH2 with the hearts of Heartless BBS with the clashing of One light and One Darkness of about the same power or nature Not specified so far if we have truly seen the real KH yet, it is more believed the the KH in BBS is the true one. Yea I know in the end what does it matter, just thought you might care, but like you, I for some reason threw myself into the convoluted story and I do love it, but yea sadly only the numbered games and maybe COM and BBS are worth playing, and as a whole I feel like after KH3, Nomura (as the god he is) will make a much more competent story, as just as for the Legend of Korra, he was kind of thrown around in wondering whether he would get another game or not and this led to him not being able to make this series of games without a bunch of retcon and convoluted BS like timetravel. Past 3 though I have confidence. Nonetheless great video again! :)
The production value of this video is top notch. Not only does it have its funny moments, but also is informative, well thought-out, and doesn't sound like it's being given by someone with no more than a high school education. Well done my friend!
I've basically done a whole lecture like this with friends of mine as well. It was fun and made me realize how much i actually know. I guess when you dedicate your entire life to something you better know the shit out of it. Glad to see there are others out there that have put as much time and energy into knowing and understanding (and appreciating) the KH universe.
I really needed this. I have played very little of KH and have been massively confused by it, but recently made a friend who both loves the series and is virtually incapable of describing anything in proper detail. Thanks for this.
I think with this I finally understand what makes Kingdom Hearts' brand of convolution so unique, which is that the consistency of the lore can only be described as FRAGILE Like, any event of coincidence can set off a chain reaction in this universe that births different levels of retcon, i.e. Sora being born the same time as Ventus gets cut somehow lets him sleep in Sora's heart??????
I've been playing through these in chronological order (bbs, 1, etc) and it's great listening to someone else talk about the craziness that I just witnessed. Played all the games at launch, but didn't fully follow the story cause of course, so some stuff was still fun wacky surprises.
Another explanation for "How come Nobodies show emotion a bunch of times, even when they're on their own or only around other Nobodies?" is: They all totally can feel emotions. Xemnas just went "Hey, you know that happiness you felt? Not real. REAL happiness is totally better than that, and I can give you hearts if you just do everything I say and help me with my heart collecting plan that TOTALLY ends with giving you guys hearts, and not sacrificing you all for power or anything like that." and they all just believed him. King Mickey, too.
The fact that people have to do these break downs explaining this convoluted maze of a narrative is awesome and i love this. But this also proves that nomura was on that good shit back in the day
2:12 at night I finally finished this. I religiously fallow the series as well and I interpret some detail different but this has also cleared up a good amount for me, especially what i'd forgotten.

Energy Zex true, there is no one else in the world I would have listened to this from for 3 straight hours
Well, 3 hours is too little compared to the length of all games combined.
What about Jesse?

No way.
I kneel.
i had never considered this before but now that you've pointed it out i can't unhear it, his slurps are so loud
Indeed
Any professor born after 1990 can't drink, all they know is memes, charge they phone, be bisexual and make long RUclips videos
Hardest laugh I've had under this video 😂 u killed him!
Chaotic Heretic The jumbled presentation does maje it a bit hard to wrap you head around. Like imagine if a book series did this sort of thing.
If the defense is "it must be played to be understood" it is absolutely confusing and/or convoluted.
No, people are confused because of pointles retconns.
Holy shit, at the end he said it would be released in 2 years. If you start counting the day he uploaded this vid, he’s exactly 7 days off. Wth

Would love a lecture on MGS and Kojima.
Or Star Trek
Axeshizzle my friend got me through MGS in about two hours, though I did have partial knowledge of 1, 3, and 5 under my belt. A full lecture would probably take as much time as this one and would be amazing.
This bonkers shit makes MGS seem like a straightforward, predictable hollywood action movie so it would probably really fucking easy to do in comparison. Hell, I've explained MGS to people, it's pretty doable. MGS2 would probably take the vast majority of that time though, lol.
I'd rather have my taint stapled to a burning log on a Merry-Go-Round running at full speed than acknowledge that MGS exists
Would love one on Yoko Taro and the Drakengard/Nier series.
If anything I'm impressed he did this all without any real notes
Jokes aside. It isn't that complicated. If you've played the games you could also do a 3 hour class on them

I'm looking forward to the extended director's cut of this lecture
I love how a good portion of the fanbase knows that swaths of KH are largely not so great, even approaching awful, but adore it anyway. That's not something you see often and it's a lot of fun. You can't have edgy Nomura teens pairing up with fucking Goofy and not have a sense of humor about everything. It actually reminds me a bit of Rocky Horror fans. The source material is so goddamn dorky... which is largely the appeal!
...except for the excellent dramatic moments from time to time. Those are nice bonuses.
This just sounds like the Doctor Who fan base (pre-2007 and post-2016)

I demand an actual full cover of Simple and Clean from the students and staff of PCP University.
Kingdom Hearts is like the portuguese language:
It's not a bunch of rules with a few exceptions.
It's a bunch of exceptions with a few rules.
Also an accurate depiction of how I live my life
Can we talk about how much respect BGE commands at 2:35? Keeps a smile on his face, doesn't say a word, and absolute obedience is given to him. Incredible.
Every time I watch another Kingdom Hearts lore video I feel like I'm starting over from scratch...
Cheers.
That's rad dude, thanks for the kind words. Glad to deliver some solid entertainment and good times. Cheers. 👍

Fuck.
Eh, agree to disagree.
That “would Elliot Rodger be a heartless?” Discussion was very good.
I've never watched anything on this channel before. I'm so glad the first thing I watched was 3 hours long.
I need more PCP University lectures. It's so much more fun with everyone heckling and questioning than just one person explaining in a vid.
Thank you
now what we need is an explanation of the entire nasuverse

I'm a little sad you skiped over the part where Sora and Riku, after murdering the fuck out of Xemnas get stranded in the realm of darkness, resign themselves to DIE there, but SOMEHOW Kairis message that she droped into the ocean at the begining of the fucking game, reaches them and SOMEHOW that opens a pathway back to Destiny Island.

@@miniondaechir He's probably still trying to explain.
Though I’m not sure if Xehanorts plan is what he wants, he’s making his own 13 pure darknesses, yet we never knew what happened to the actual 13, where the original pieces went.
guy's played through the series about 9 times...and I thought I was qualified to teach this class. One note tho: Agrabah wasn't in 3D.

I can't count how many times I've watched this lecture. This is some kind of art.
I love the idea of someone trying to explain the kingdom hearts plot to Walt Disney.
I was gonna watch 30 minutes. 3 hours later, I watched plenty of these explanation videos, but this was not only the most enjoyable, but the most engaging and informative. I actually feel like I could buy 3 without The Story So Far and be caught up. I won't, but I feel like I can. Thank you

Great video man! :) dont know if I could sit there and teach some people the entirety of the story, or even get them to sit through it, but their were a few things that were slightly wrong just thought I would point them out for you to know.
-The 7 Lights and 13 Darknesses comes from the X-blade being destroyed and breaking into 7 pieces of light and 13 Darkness
-The X symbol on Sora in DDD was placed on by the hooded Ansem SOD when they first enter DI.
(Other than Sora, Roxas, and Xion)
-Also the Keyblade formed from the princesses of light would only work completely and would only reveal the keyhole to Kingdom Hearts with all 7 princess of light, the keyblade was still able to be formed with 6 lights.
-The light from the DTD is technically Kingdom Hearts or one version of Kingdom Hearts, not just light, this is only one version of KH and not (technically) the real version. KH has been formed 3 different ways in the series
KH1 with the hearts of Worlds
KH2 with the hearts of Heartless
BBS with the clashing of One light and One Darkness of about the same power or nature
Not specified so far if we have truly seen the real KH yet, it is more believed the the KH in BBS is the true one.
TLoK is trash sadly.
What was the conversation you had with your friends to convince them to let you lecture them on kingdom hearts for a literal 3 hours
This NEEDS to be redone to include everything in the series up to the end of Kingdom Hearts Union X.

As much as I love Kingdom Hearts, I can't help but fell that Tails gets Trolled is technically a better written crossover.
I think with this I finally understand what makes Kingdom Hearts' brand of convolution so unique, which is that the consistency of the lore can only be described as FRAGILE
Like, any event of coincidence can set off a chain reaction in this universe that births different levels of retcon, i.e. Sora being born the same time as Ventus gets cut somehow lets him sleep in Sora's heart??????
I can tell Digibro dident really give a shit during certin parts lol great video by the way

I've been playing through these in chronological order (bbs, 1, etc) and it's great listening to someone else talk about the craziness that I just witnessed. Played all the games at launch, but didn't fully follow the story cause of course, so some stuff was still fun wacky surprises.
Regular lecture: loses concentration the first 5 minutes.
This: ..just 3 hours? where is the rest of it?
I wish kingdom hearts was way more complex and long so this lecture could be longer. Absolutley in love with this.
Xemnas true power wasn't lasers or glass, it was the power to gaslight.
The fact that people have to do these break downs explaining this convoluted maze of a narrative is awesome and i love this. But this also proves that nomura was on that good shit back in the day
