I'm sure there are a few inaccuracies in here from people more in the know than I am. Things kinda sputtered out at the end, but I'm the least familiar with the events of Revelator since I had only bought it a few weeks ago in preparation for this lecture. Thanks to the hambois for sticking with me for three hours, and thank YOU for watching (and reading) this!

@VerumRex pffft. The un would ban it but once they try to enforce the law they send in like 20 guys and use them more as mall security then a actual military.
I mean it gets significantly more anime later on as we get further and further away from the world as we know it, but this was always an anime as fuck story.
The top two search results for "guilty gear lore" are "guilty gear lore in 1 minute", and this video, otherwise known as "guilty gear lore in 3 hours". I love you, PCP.
I don't remember where it was, but the things that happened were. Fredrick and Aria hook up and do it, Aria finds out that she's pregnant, but at the same time finds out that she also has the incurable disease. Rather then tell Fredrick that she's pregnant, she tells him she's going to die. She dies, but That Man preserves her body and turns it into a gear. This changes the fetus, but not as much as Aria does. Justice stays pregnant for the entire time that she is a gear, until the year that she was sealed away. Sensing that she was fucked, she unconsciously uses magic to encase Dizzy into an egg and send her away. This is how Dizzy ends up in the forest, only discovered years after Justice was already sealed. This same thing happens with Dizzy and Sin, because she unconsciously knew that something wrong was happening to her body and she 'births' an egg. Also, gears were disappearing because Valentine was sublimating them. Which is that she was using the backyard's power to erase them from existence, while at the same time collecting their cells into herself. This didn't work on Sol and Sin because their core signature was different from Justice, while all other gears, including Dizzy were almost the same. The point of Sin falling under Valentine's control was to show that she had taken in enough gear cells to have the same commander gear powers that Justice did, while taking in Sin's cells allowed her to transform into a gear state.
RellikInProfile Considering more then half of the things they try to cram into your brain after elementary school is useless to most peoples because college is the place where you actually learn things for specific jobs it is actually a good thing to remove that useless knowledge with knowledge you will use in your group of friends that also talk about this stuff.
>copious musical references >”master ghosts” >vampires >a villain character named valentine that has several clones >a girl with a monster bound to her hair I mean yeah
1) Quoting Wikipedia: "Ky Kiske is named after German band Helloween's former members Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske." And his last name is actually pronnouced "Kiskeh". 2) The Fireseal is one of the Outrage pieces, and Kliff knew that Sol made those, that's why he just gave the Fireseal to Sol. Ky didn't knew about Sol being the Outrage creator, so he started hating Sol since he took the Fireseal away. 3) Justice body was based on Aria's DNA, so she's like a modified (or "gearified") clone of Aria. 4) Chipp actually didn't live with a japanese familiy, he was adopted by a japanese ninja dude in his teen years when he was a drug addict. This dude made Chipp abandon drugs and become a full fledged ninja, hence why Chipp is a weaboo. His mentor died prior to the events of the games. 5) There's not a single canon conenction between Guilty Gear and Blazblue, so everything about is just fandom stuff. 6) Most of the story of XX, XX Reload XX Slash, XXAC, AC plus and AC+R isn't canon. So basically put Sol fights Ky and they finally stop hating each other and Ky starts living with Dizzy. 7) In the events between GGXX and GG2 Overture, Sol was called by Dizzy for help. When he came to the place he found Dizzy a little kid with a patch on one eye (Sin). Once Sol entered the house he found a really fucked up Ky (in a very poor mental state), as all this "puppet king" stuff was making him go mad. Finally, Ky asked Sol to take care of Sin as in his current state he couldn't. This is why Sol and Sin are together in GG2 Overture. 8) Izuna, Slayers, Sharon (Slayer's wife) and Raven were "bugged" from the Backyard, so they have these superhuman powers because their "data" is erratic. 9) Bedman does have a sister complex, because he has a sister. Both characters had minds so strong that being in this world would make them go berserker. That's why he made that bed robot, so he could live a more "normal life" while being asleep, but there's no info on where his sister is. The worst thing about this story is that her sister killed both of their parents. 10) In the REV 2 DLC there are Extra short story episodes, the first one is important (like realyl important) but the second is just a gag reel. For more information visit these links: Dustloop forum: www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forums/topic/6624-guilty-gear-xrd-story-thread/ A blog about GG lore: gear-project.tumblr.com/ The GG discord server (in the #lore channel): discord.gg/yff67Hr
heavymetalmixer91 So aria have sex with a shadow monster ? So gears gets pregnant if their genetic template is pregnant and that gundam somehow gave birth that means dizzie is full gear unless aria gave birth before she died which can't happen because dizzie was found as a baby after justice gets killed, so how did a giant gundam gave birth to a human sized baby ?
That's the mistery, there's no info about when was Dizzy born or even how. It's better if you ask in the #lore channel of the GG discord, I guess a few people could know about this: discord.gg/yff67Hr
I love Guilty Gear so fucking much. While it is fantastic that we have this lore dump it does dissapoint me that people who are learning about all of this right here are not gonna understand that what makes the story so great is the loveable ensemble cast and the fun of learning about all the cool characters.
Yeah, Guilty Gear was like Fate on you was willing to goes deep into lore because you want to know the character better despite the mumbo jumbo nonsense. Hell, every fighting games have all of this formula. You want to goes deep in hell just to know about the characters you main or your waifu more. I was dragged into Guilty Gear because Dizzy is my teenage crush and I want to know her more despite XX story as a who is so confusing.
I think I can explain the whole "Will of the Planet actually hates humanity" schtick. It's thankfully not actually even that hard. You just have to grasp what Daisuke is getting at. So, the core point to hold onto is that the Sage's A.I. was built with the sole goal of "Humanity must achieve peace, and that peace must last forever". That's the plan. To achieve it, the A.I. needed to know what defined humanity. Specifically, humanity that will ALLOW IT TO ACHIEVE ITS GOAL. So it looked at what it had to work with, put it up against the goal, and settled on "autonomous self-aware organisms with a Soul", but with an asterisks that reads something like "Soul must allow for indefinite peace". Guilty Gear has all-kinds of crazy anime shenanigans, so it's not a big leap in logic to expect the A.I. to be able to prove the existence of Souls somehow, and that's what distinguishes them from every other animal. Okay, easy. Step one checked off. Step 2: Can the A.I. even do it. The answer: No. Based on its calculations, the current "humanity" doesn't meet all of the criteria. They are autonomous self-aware organisms, and they do have Souls. But the current humans are never, and WILL never be at peace forever. Even if they _do_ achieve "Peace", they are almost guaranteed to break it at some point, ad infinitum. Even if unintentional. The potential to "regress" is always present in their Souls, and always, always will be, no matter how much they advance as a society and species. The risk of being able to move backwards keeps the current humanity's Souls from being useful for the A.i.'s purpose. They might as well not even _have_ Souls. They can't be fixed. So, the A.I. treats them like they don't meet its requirements. It drops the facade of owing "these" humans anything, because as far as the A.I. is concerned, it doesn't. They aren't the "humans" it needs, and they never were. "Humanity" in its eyes never existed. The A.I. will just have to make the humans it needs on its own and work from there, completely removing the current obstacles to prevent any contamination. It MUST be complete genocide. The potential of a "Soul that can regress" to spread its influence to a "Soul that can achieve everlasting peace" is a risk too high to take. The two can never be allowed to meet for the goal to be achieved. Thus... Guilty Gear happens, in its entirety. Like I said, it's not actually complex. Daisuke just really likes focusing on specifics terms he coins and thinks sound cool and poetic, like Souls. The man _can_ write, and actually does it very well. He loves long-con plots that unfold over multiple installments that you have to go back and re-review once you have more information. It just... takes a lot of effort sometimes. Or caring. Also, it makes perfect sense that That Man would know about and work against the A.I. If he's the Sage's disciple from the beginning, it's likely he'd be told about the A.I. and see where it was heading, thus aligning against it. Even if he messes up sometimes. Also, I-No can time travel. That's kind of her schtick. Just throwing that out there, since it's like a "get out of jail free" writing card, within reason. I'm sure there's some things not even she or That Man can alter, but she'd be a useful informant for him to have.
Yo Im here to expand on the story because Strive is out now so spoilers: In the 20th century, a boy that would later be named names such as The Original, That Man, and Happy Chaos was born. He discovered the Backyard and began to form the science of magic. He created a technological life form named the Universal Will to attempt to do a good, but it turned on humanity in the Dawn of Revival. He then gathered a group he called his Apostles, which included Fredrick's buddy Asuka, and began teaching them everything he knew. At some point, he finds I-No, who at this point is on the verge of becoming a time god, so he strips half her power to keep her from being too dangerous. The Universal Will then fused him with that power, and he went insane immediately, causing basically every conflict in the entire series because its funny and also to remind humans of their humanity or something.
Dude is super annoying. Like we got it the first time you don't like anime tropes, quit repeating yourself lmao. He's that guy that pisses in the punch bowl.
I love that you're physically sweating, gasping for air, and wild eyed like a crazy man ranting on a street corner by the end of this video. I didn't care about this shit before but you did an awesome job presenting it and I kind of fell in love with the whole idea.
As a metal fan, these nonstop references are pretty great. My fav has to be Faust who is named after the convicted murder that drummed for legendary black metal band Emperor.
“Why wouldn’t they just put all the story in the story mode?” Because Sign and Revelator initially came out in arcades before the console versions of those games came out so that’s why. They were basically appetizers for the main story that would be in the console versions which were in development by the time they initially came out in arcades
Another thing is that the structure and casting of Magic spells, is partially based on music theory. The reason why the Backyard magic is more powerfull, complex and seemigly breaks the rules used in normal Magic is because Its using a different "music structure". You can say that while Normal Magic (excepting Ki) use the most common system and rules in western music (12 tone equal temperament), the Backyard magic may be using a system with microtones with more complex composition structures.
UPDATE: I FINALLY FIGURED OUT why I thought the GGX original soundtrack was using synthesized instruments. Back in the day, before everything ever made was on RUclips, my friend and I imported a CD with the Guilty Gear soundtrack called Guilty Gear Best Sound Collection. This soundtrack contains a bunch of Naomi mixes of the original songs that ARE done with synths, and I just assumed that these were the GGX1 versions of the tracks, since I didn't have a copy of the game itself. The thought just stuck until I was called out here in the comments. You can listen to the album here on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/9o4jER6iW3s/видео.html
The thing is, the songs actually WERE originally a bunch of synth tracks for the NAOMI soundboard because that's what the arcade cabinet could handle at the time. When it got to Dreamcast, they were able to actually get live instruments as it is intended to be.
This was pretty good, but it kind of fell apart at the end due to time constraints. You also probably could have saved a shit ton of time by explaining the Backyard differently. Existence is basically an organic computer program. The Backyard is a extra dimension that serves as the source code to reality. Magic is literal life hacks on natural phenomena. But seriously though, I know as much as I do because I've been following the series since I was a child starting at GG1. I'm familiar with this because I've literally spent a good amount of my life following things as they came up, even learning Japanese to read early 00s blogs for info. Considering the amount of time you spent researching this with this level of results, this video is absolutely phenomenal. Good job. Also really the most complex thing about all of this is the characters themselves. Their histories and motivations answer about 90% of the stuff that was just "because reasons". That's where Daisuke's writing talent actually lies.
The only major issue I have with the lecture (from what I’ve watched so far) is that he presents the Backyard as something that only a handful of people know about, but it’s actually the foundation of magical theory. The only thing about the Backyard that Sol learns in Overture is that it holds up not only in theory, but also in practice.
That too. The other part of this is that Overture pretty much introduced how magic works as a lore dump. It's pretty neat once you get the idea. Think of the Pantheistic Afterlife Theory, but with literally everything in one, natural computer program. If magical science was real I'd have my PhD. I have no idea how to feel about being a genius in a field that doesn't exist.
I scrolled down just to see if anyone said this. I'm 8 minutes and 37 seconds in and jesus christ. What a socially inept dork that loser is. I hope he sees these comments and realises that all those "jokes" and rude interruptions weren't worth it. Some people man. Yikes. Ruined what is otherwise a great video.
LMAO literally. i was fine with anyone else talking but as soon as he opens his mouth i deadass just wanted to skip ahead. like lmao "not this guy again"
So some people have been saying in the comments that GGX soundtrack > GGXX soundtrack, so I went back and have been listening to it and damn, they're a LOT closer than I remember. Some tracks on GGX1 are categorically better than their XX remix, Burly Heart probably being the most blatant, and Keep Yourself Alive a close contender for runner up. Point is all of Guilty Gear crushes it.
Tommy Oliver 3D GGXX's soundtrack is effectively X played on a live sound stage. Some songs suffer for it, some improve significantly, and all the new tracks are freaking sublime. The XX version of Holy Orders is pure sex, whereas the X versions of Dizzy and Testament's themes have a lot more production as they're still final bosses rather than regular characters. I also prefer Potemkin, Johnny, and Venom's themes in X for the reasons I mentioned above. I don't have a favourite band - I have a favourite composer making music for a series. I know Ishiwatari has composed for other games, but you can tell Guilty Gear is what he's truly creatively invested in.
Love Tom's enthusiasm on trying to re-enact some awesome/badass moments. Glad I watch through all this cuz next time when there's tournaments on the game, I can have different impressions on those cool characters on screen. Helps with deciding who to root for y'know.

holy shit munchie is annoying. He's like that guy who keeps turning to the guy next to him during a movie to loudly ask a question that's going to be answered in the movie like 5 seconds later.
Now that Strive has been out for a good while and we've had the story DLC as well, it's time for a deep dive or a follow up university lecture to this one.
*Never played a GG, got Revelator. Wanted to know plot up to this point. Video suggests "That man" is Florida Man.* I'm going with that, from this point onward. Thank you lol.
The idea that some all powerful man, is actually just a dude who lives a life of foolishness and sheer chaos, and has no clue what he's doing. Sorta just walks into these situations. Love it.
Just discovered Guilty Gear existed last week. I was playing older Street Fighter games on my retro portable and decided to search more recent fighting games on the Playstation Store. GG's visuals, killer characters and soundtrack blew me away so I took a chance and picked up the Xrd Rev 2 edition. It 's so unique and unlike any other fighting game I've ever played. In my spare time I've been checking out different RUclips videos to learn more about this incredible game when I discovered your video. This is great stuff. Very glad I checked this out, thank you!
I keep on coming back to this video because I just love listening to Tommy explain the WHOLE guilty gear universe. It's great to just listen and hear y'all engaged in this
I rewatch this so this every year because it's so great. Minor correction/clarification: Ky is canonically a better fighter than Sol. In the After Story to Xrd they have a duel where Sol demands that Ky stop holding back and fight him like he would any other gear. Sol gets his shit rocked. Sol might be able to win if he was in dragon install, but Ky can do that too now. That's probably why they made Robo Ky, because they could program a robot to match Ky's fighting style easier than they could build one to match the raw power of a gear. Here's the fight BTW. ruclips.net/video/y56IWiNW4vI/видео.html
I didn't give a shit about Guilty Gear before this lecture but you made me feel invested and wanting more.....Then you got to GG2 and I'm back to where I started. Not your fault though Tom. You did a great job.
I should clarify that I was talking about the lore specifically. I won't promise that I'll check out the game, but if I ever do it will be because you've ingrained it into my mind.
@Zoan Siege has lore? Also I don't think lore is a "proven attention grabber" as much as making a fun game first. Overwatch and TF2 don't even have single player or cutscenes. And every fighting game story is extremely nonsensical anyways.
This is the best shit on RUclips. These lectures are actually very engaging and very well structured. I really enjoy the rotating speakers and audience. Makes for an interesting dynamic. Longform is definitely best form.
That Man does have an actual name, now. It was revealed in Revelator. Also, the big deal about ki is that humans generate it naturally. All other magic has to be channeled either from nature or from a magical device. This grants ki users an innate advantage, as they can generate power even if cut off from an outside source.
Nice video, one of the fun things about the fluff lore in GG is that the characters evolve and grow but not in such a way that it actually impacts the game itself. Sol & Ky start off butting heads during special intros, win quotes and other unique dialogues at the start, but end up complimenting each other after during / after matches towards Rev2. You don't even need to know it's there but it's nice padding either way. The fluff lore in SFV had Ryu farting on Necalli and Sakura working at an arcade (not that it matters, Kyo has been in School for most of the KoF series, but it's not like anyone notices).
Tom Oliver, you really should make a video better fleshing out the end of the cannon. I know that you were frustrated, and working on a time constraint, but I would love to listen to what you left out.
Crawling Castle There’s a Tumblr page called The Gear Project that answers GG lore questions. Even it can’t always escape the weirdness of the story, but it’s pretty reliable. More so than the Wiki, that’s for damn sure.
"Ramlethal Valentine shows up above the remnants of Japan and is like, 'Humans are gay. I'm taking you guys out.' And everyone is like, 'Shit.'" This one had me weak. 10/10 recap 👏👏👏
@Will Well, most of the members left for a variety of reasons. Then those that remained had some conflicts which leaves us today with just Ben, Gib and Tom. Not sure whether you've watched much PCP but personally it doesn't make for content nearly as interesting as what they were putting out a few years back with the lectures and podcast episodes.
Ok, so I'm 54 minutes into this video and I have to say it is fucking amazing. Now, I haven't watched the entire Kingdom Hearts Lecture cause I'm still playing the games and don't want spoilers, but just those 54 minutes were more entertaining than all the other lectures combined (don't get me wrong, I liked the other ones too). Whether it's the actual story of the game or the way he talks about it, right now I'm thinking "fuck, only 2 hours left". Really good stuff.
Tommy Oliver 3D Back with an update cause when I first watched it I had some stuff to do and when I came home I crashed out. The conclusion: it was absolutely amazing. Every time you said "I'll just skip over this stuff" I was like "NO, don't, it's so interesting." At the end I felt like it was impossible not to applaud too. I'll definitely check out at least the last Guilty Gear for the gameplay. Regarding the Backyard, you said that it is a higher dimension and that our dimension (along with the Earth) is like a backyard of the Backyard. A lesser dimension. So is there like an actual Supreme Mega Dimension which rules over everything. For example, our dimension = potato in a soup; Backyard = the pot with the soup; and that Mega Super dimension = the kitchen? And regarding Soul's sudden new magic power from GG2. He could probably use it because he had sex with Aria (which was the Universal Will's host body at that time) and some of her power transferred to him (like SIDA). Just like how Kai became a Gear because he had sex with Dizzy. (which was speculation but it's the most probable answer) But neither Soul or Kai could access the Backyard because only Dizzy was 1/2 Justice cells and Sin was 1/4 Justice cells. Soul and Kai were not blood related to Justice so they couldn't open a door to the Backyard. Sin was probably too weak to do that. I guess, idk, it's just my theory. In any case, thank you very much for this lecture.
Noctis Cuadro So there are only two dimensions: our reality and the Backyard. Think of it like a computer program. The Backyard is the coding that the program runs on, and our world is the program itself. If you make an edit to the Backyard (the coding), you change how reality (the program) works. That’s basically what magic is. Making a tiny edit to the Backyard to do something that can’t happen in nature.
This has sat in my watch later for 5 years, what a freaking nostalgia trip opening this is. "It hasn't reached critical mass so it hasn't been ruined" never before have I agreed more. Literally daily I talk about shit that got ruined as soon as the mainstream found it. Ok I actually started laughing at how ridiculous just the name for the backyard was. Like it is 4 in the morning and I probably just woke up the whole house. I love when you get to a point when talking about something you love and even you know it's pretty dumb. Honestly though whenever I see others creative output and see them fumble like that it kinda gives me confidence. It's kind of a "yeah even veterans don't get it right everytime".
Well, I really enjoyed this up to the point you got to Overture, at that point the Munchy guy got unbearable and started just straight up shitting on the whole lore, souring up the mood. Also I really don't get why people get so worked up about the Backyard; I'd understand if it was a sci-fi franchise but a spirit/astral plane is not really out of place in a setting that was all about magic in the first place. I agree GG has a lot of lousy "anime" writing but I think people recoiling at the mention of spiritual stuff is just a showcase of their own ignorance and unwillingness to engage.
The Backyard is actually Carl Jung's collective unconscious, it's hard to extrapolate what it is, but allows Ishiwatari to come up with any bs he wants and implement it.
No kidding. Bridget was probably my first experience with a trap. Had to read the character profile several times over as a teenager when I saw Bridget being described as a "He".
One year late answer : There's another comment where he gave his notes on a Google doc in fact. Here, I found it again: docs.google.com/document/d/1roWfBOK4zsp5w0iwZB7ZaxYsHsGVC3kOvlRhcECanvg/mobilebasic
Wow, that was a fucking journey. You did great Tom considering this was your first lecture. Guilty Gear's story is just the kind of dumb anime bullshit I love, so it was fascinating to watch as this story descended into pure madness. Really though, the initial backstory plus the story of GG1 is actually pretty solid and if the series was just that, it would work. While I think the video suffers from you skimming through a lot of stuff and focusing maybe too much on GG2, it was still great. And while Nate's constant questions and Muchy's lack of care might be kind of annoying, they help in terms of comedy. Now I'm gonna go look at some waifus and listen to badass J-rock.
Bobby Jenkins Yeah I think Overtures nature of being a more traditional video game made it too easy to kinda pick up all the details of it's story. Probably should have cut even more from the summary than I did.
Tommy Oliver 3D Yeah, that's the one area where it falters and considering you skip over so much of SIGN and Rev. Otherwise, again great job and you've convinced me to go play Guilty Gear.
I'm sure there are a few inaccuracies in here from people more in the know than I am. I admit to taking a few liberties here and there either for comedic effect, or to just spice up what was essentially a sentence or two in a codex.

Sorry, good guy is already taken, I think it's the nickname of a guy named Bloodedge or something
So what are we, some kind of Guilty Gear?

The only time Munchie wasn't annoying was when he was shoveling food down his throat.
Please do a GG character lecture! This shit was crisp!

How did sol have a daughter then if justice is just a clone ?
Aria got pregnant after Frederick became a gear, but before she got cloned. Soon after this Frederick escaped, without knowing he was a father.
heavymetalmixer91
So aria have sex with a shadow monster ?

Thats right.i think its deeep.
DocChutney exactly, I love the characters and their background and present stories. Sols, out of all of them, is my favorite.
I did it. I watched it. Now I can finally watch the story mode of the game that I've owned for six months
Yo Im here to expand on the story because Strive is out now so spoilers:
In the 20th century, a boy that would later be named names such as The Original, That Man, and Happy Chaos was born.

As a metal fan, these nonstop references are pretty great. My fav has to be Faust who is named after the convicted murder that drummed for legendary black metal band Emperor.
Also Faust from German folklore, a doctor who made a deal with the devil.
Faust was a 70s German rock band long before Eithun got arrested.
“Why wouldn’t they just put all the story in the story mode?”
Because Sign and Revelator initially came out in arcades before the console versions of those games came out so that’s why.
That's also why the name of the game is baptism 13, it's the baptism of the backyard magic
You know what? I'll take any explanation I can get.
Yo holy shit thanks fam
Kick munchie out next time.
The thing is, the songs actually WERE originally a bunch of synth tracks for the NAOMI soundboard because that's what the arcade cabinet could handle at the time. When it got to Dreamcast, they were able to actually get live instruments as it is intended to be.

"He could save the president"
Sol must be going for a record
「GEAR † HEAD」 welp, he might be a bad lecturer XD
「GEAR † HEAD」 I like how a lot of magic jargon in GG2 takes its words from musical chord theory.
「GEAR † HEAD」 IIRC wasn’t it that people thought the Backyard existed, but just couldn’t 100% prove it?
Munchie, chill out man, stop trying to steal the show.

Tommy Oliver 3D
BlazBlue lecture when?

ChillTerumi mortal kombat

Also I don't think lore is a "proven attention grabber" as much as making a fun game first. Overwatch and TF2 don't even have single player or cutscenes. And every fighting game story is extremely nonsensical anyways.
I just realized after 2 hours of watching that the 662 near Baptisma 13 is actually a GG2
This is the best shit on RUclips. These lectures are actually very engaging and very well structured. I really enjoy the rotating speakers and audience. Makes for an interesting dynamic. Longform is definitely best form.
Of course digi knows about the Loli..
Tom do you have a copy of your notes for the lecture? I would love to look over them and see all the stuff that had to be cut or looked into more
Tommy Oliver 3D hell yes
Daisuke is the Jesus of video games yes

Ok, so I'm 54 minutes into this video and I have to say it is fucking amazing. Now, I haven't watched the entire Kingdom Hearts Lecture cause I'm still playing the games and don't want spoilers, but just those 54 minutes were more entertaining than all the other lectures combined (don't get me wrong, I liked the other ones too). Whether it's the actual story of the game or the way he talks about it, right now I'm thinking "fuck, only 2 hours left". Really good stuff.
Noctis Cuadro I hope the rest was good too 👍
Tommy Oliver 3D Back with an update cause when I first watched it I had some stuff to do and when I came home I crashed out.
People say that. Counterpoint:
I want to print out, "THIS IS ALL JUST ANIME SHIT!" ... and wear it on a shirt.
because people have no imaginations now.
The Backyard is actually Carl Jung's collective unconscious, it's hard to extrapolate what it is, but allows Ishiwatari to come up with any bs he wants and implement it.
and yet it works! Logically consistent with our timey wimey wibbly wobbly reality lmao
Ah, Bridget. The character that taught me the meaning of the "Trap" tag.
Bridget is the OG trap. Pretty much the mascot of traps back in the day on /a/, /v/, and /b/
No kidding. Bridget was probably my first experience with a trap. Had to read the character profile several times over as a teenager when I saw Bridget being described as a "He".
He was introduce me the world of traps.
Came here to catch up before Guilty Gear 2020
Lol how was the video?
Me too lol
That trailer looks so damn clean
Did it help or you are more confused?

One year late answer : There's another comment where he gave his notes on a Google doc in fact.
Here, I found it again: docs.google.com/document/d/1roWfBOK4zsp5w0iwZB7ZaxYsHsGVC3kOvlRhcECanvg/mobilebasic
I love how questionably so much of this has aged since Strive
"This story is stupid and makes no sense"
One of the dudes is literally wearing a Homestuck hoodie
One of the funniest lore explanation videos I’ve ever seen, hella props for going through all this shit. More than makes up for the constant derails
1:57:56 This was the first time Munchie has said something that wasn’t bat shit crazy or annoying... Until he said Guilty Gear sucks.
If munchie weren’t in this video it would be a 10/10 but he is here so 7/10
I think i have a 10/10 series for you then. Theres a lore series made by woolie versus which is actually more accurate
i think it's the other way around
Munchie is truly, truly, the worst.
But he’s based tho
that's what i was thinking this entire lecture.
that man is one of the most complicated antagonists I've ever heard in a fictional story
I would love you to remake this with the knowledge we have today
I'm just getting into Guilty Gear, i reeeeally appreciate this Tom
