Professional Fossil Hunter’s Ammonite Preparation!

See my fossil preparation and lovely little Jurassic Coast find. A fossil Oyster shell from the Jurassic Coast. Also Known as a 'Devil`s Toe Nail.' Under Lizzie Hingley`s tutelage at her fossil workshop, i learnt to use her prep work tools. I use all the correct health and safety equipment to do the work from protective eye wear to sturdy rubber gloves. The best fossils are found at low tide .I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving.The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks.
