- I go on a long fossil walk to the East of Lyme Regis, in conjunction with safe tide times. The best fossils are found at low tide. I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, it’s fun just to see the “ treasures” on the large rocks. The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ------www.lymeregisfo... There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassic Coast- #fossils#fossilhunter#ammonite
ruclips.net/video/ibi62BXuN28/видео.html This a video about fossil collecting, in which Mike Harrison does a bit of Professional skilful work .
Really nice video Brandon, so well filmed and edited. Thoroughly enjoyed watching, thanks.
Thanks 🙏 very much for the comments and encouragement
Visited your lovely little shop in Lyme Regis last week and now back in Germany. I was lucky to find some cute small pyrite ammonites from the beach during our visit there. I love Lyme Regis and hope to be back next year. Till then will follow your great videos. Cheers!
Thanks 🙏 very much for your comments! I’m glad you enjoyed your holidays at Lyme Regis ! Those ammonites preserved in iron pyrite are very cute 🙌.
Looking forward to part two, that wood stone looks awesome.
Cheers Mike for that ! I’m looking forward to carefully getting into that stone too! Thanks very much for your comments.
Amazing fossils find 👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏 for watching I’m looking forward too as well to the big stone being opened 🙌
Thank you for sharing a beautiful video. 👏😌
Thanks 🙏 very much for watching and your comments
@@LymeRegisFossils Your skills are on a different level. 🤔👍BRILLIANT.
Thanks 🙏 it’s a lot of practice I’ve had over the years ! Lucky 🍀 to have had the chance
What a beautiful place. The statue at the end is interesting also. ❤
Thanks 🙏 very much . We all spent a long time getting that statue for the Jurassic Coast, with Anya and Evie !
@@LymeRegisFossils oh wow. You guys did amazing! Do you have a video about that project?
Yes 🙌 I’ve got two videos about that project 🙌
ruclips.net/video/u1ROeX3a7-c/видео.html this is one video about Mary Anning Rocks project, with Anya and Evie - I am a trustee.
@@LymeRegisFossils Thanks! I’m gonna check them out.
2:52 larger but less well preserved ammonite on the right side of the sieve. Also to identify where the beach is pyrite rich is it just a case of weight or does it tend to contain darker coloured rocks and grain with a slight sparkle to it?
Thanks 🙏 very much for your comments . The shaded patches on the beach containing “ metal like “ iron pyrite, are the good patches to look at - “ Ammonite Lyme Regis.” ( that’s a good video )
@@LymeRegisFossils thanks for the recommendation!
Looking forward to part II and the splitting of the larger slab.
Thanks 🙏 very much Mike
Expertly done Brandon, some awesome calcite ammos there .Nearly as good as Mike 😂
😁🌀🌊🪨🙌 Hey 👋 that big Woodstone 🪨 🪵 I very well may take to Mike and get him to carefully and skilfully cleave into that ! 🙌 I like 👍🏻 filming Mike’s rock breaking skills
@@LymeRegisFossils can’t wait to see what’s inside,looks a super piece 💪
Thanks 🙏 there will definitely be Promicroceras sp. Like 👍🏻 you know Mike gets a lot of in these stones ! 🙌
Pop quiz!
6:15 hammer? Or mud on a stick?
I love those tiny ammonites...💓precious.
Thank you 🙏
Nice video
Thank you 🙏
Next time I come down to Lyme Regis I want to challenge you to a fossil hunting competition! I doubt we’d ever come across each other but at least an online battle! Professional vs amateur!
I’m the one with the red metal framed rucksack 🎒
@@LymeRegisFossils I’ll look out for you! And in the very likely instance we don’t meet I’ll just post whatever I find and I’ll compare it to your significantly greater specimens!
I talked to one of the Museum helpers today they are fairly young and engaged with fossil collecting on the beaches of Lyme Regis - at low tide! They had found some nice iron pyrite ammonites today and an Ichthyosaur back bone 🦴! I’d say that was currently a fairly good day out and about fossil hunting .
@@LymeRegisFossils sounds amazing! I’m jealous!
@@LymeRegisFossils their out there finding ichthyosaur vertebrae while I’m stuck doing easy math GCSE’s
I have a fossil that I don't know what it is, could you help me?
Plis
Thanks 🙏 you send me a photo if you’re interested in getting the identity of it
Www.lymeregisfossilwalks.com my details are on the website
really enjoyed the video and Trudies shout out😃....lovely golden ammonite...look forward to part 2 and splitting that rock open!! p.s are you really a "Head Gardener"....🪴🌱🌲🤷♂
Great 😊 stuff thanks 🙏 very much for the comments. I’m a legendary gardener in my own mind yes 🙌
9:20 HOLY CRAP THAT IS MASS…tiny.
I think 🤔 that big woodstone rock 🪨 will contain some incredible fossils - part 2 - coming
@@LymeRegisFossils can’t wait!!!
I find that beaches with no cliff warnings are the most unstable. Cardiff and kimmeridge have no warning. Cardiff clay cliffs can have pebbles dislodged with a shout. And kimmeridge is the most unstable and fly covered shale beach I have ever come across!
😢😅
Small and very beautiful 💛
Yes 🙌 it turned out beautifully
not sure if you can see my comments ?
Sorry I might have not seen some comments are they on this video ?
@@LymeRegisFossils no it was my account but thanks for reply love your videos.

now you have appropriate👉 🔨 ✅
That’s a smaller hammer than I would normally use. It’s the appropriate type of hammer though in terms of splitting the right Little Rock’s. As I found a much larger rock I took the whole thing back to use a larger hammer on it 🙌
