As someone who had family members who have cancer the amount of drama and bullcrap that Tom is going to bring to the band in the fighting that they're going to do is not going to be good for mark. Once you have cancer in your body there is no guarantee now that you won't have it at that stage four ever again. One round of chemo is enough. If you guys only think about this from the perspective as a dumbass which you are then you're not taking the health aspect from Mark into question here because if you did you wouldn't be this giddy to have Tom back. Tom has been literally the main source of issues with blink-182 for 20 years. You're all so young you don't even remember that.

Alkaline trio is an amazing band and matt did his part in blink 182. It was unfair to see fans bash on him for not being Tom when he helped keep the band alive for years after Tom left for his own personal reasons. He wasn’t no Tom but he is an amazing artist. Now skiba will be free from all the BS too and i can’t wait to hear more alkaline trio music in the future.

I know that they are fully focused on the traditional lineup, but why don’t they just keep a second guitarist, honestly I think that would expand the band and its creativity. Most of the side projects that the band has done has had four members instead of just three, I honestly think it would be pretty cool to hear it. I don’t think it’s a sellout, I just think it’s a development in expanding the music.
Mark and Travis’s recent health issues are likely leading to communication barriers. I don’t see this as a confirmation of Tom’s return. But if they do, I hope they pay appropriate respects and communication with Skiba.

Same. I loved Tom. I loved blink when Tom was there. That's how I knew them and the blink i grew up with. But even pre this last time he left and Matt joined, he didn't sound good, and he didnt sound...like tom. He clearly can't sing like he used to and imo he didn't sound like he wanted to be there. Granted all I have to go on is live videos, but that was the vibe I got. Plus the last two albums I really liked. If you truly love a band, you always have that nostalgia and love and appreciation of the material that got you into them, but you'll also respect that people and projects and bands etc evolve. Matt was the first real evolution of blink and i really enjoyed the last two records - I think having that new fresh presence/perspective/approach was why.
I saw blink on warped tour in 97 (I'm old) and saw them in 2001 twice. awesome shows. I took my now ex wife to see them with Skiba covering for Tom in I believe it was 2014. Or maybe 2015. she had a great time and I was happy for her. It was a fun show but tbh it felt like seeing a really good Blink 182 cover band. Blink 182 just ain't Blink 182 without Tom. I pretended to have a total blast so I wouldn't be a buzzkill to Ash. I doubt Tom will ever be back, though.

I would have agreed with you a few years ago, but Tom actually sounds pretty amazing live in a recent show I watched he did with angels and airwaves. Not a big fan of them however, his voice seems to be pretty on point, it would be interesting to see what he would bring to the table with blink
If anything, Blink-182 SHOULD KEEP Matt Skiba & allow for both Matt & Mark to sing backing vocals to Tom’s iconic voice & attitude in that band. PLUS Matt’s guitar will add a beautiful new sound to the classic Blink line-up!

I believe that Matt knew from the start that he was with Blink until Tom finishes his other projects, so the bitter part is this where they don't communicate with each other
Toms vocals now are a lot better than they were in say 2010, when he was singing blink songs with his angels and airwaves style. In comparison having Matt is like having two marks. Plus honestly, the first album without tom sounded so generic, and it felt like everything good was thrown out just to remain popular. You could tell tom was the one who was experimental. He’s progressive. Regardless angel and airwaves recent album hit number 1 if I recall. The bands the biggest is been since their first album, and that was mainly because it was hyped up so much that Tom went solo.
Blink tours make plenty of money. All four should go on tour, and the original lead vocalist for the album version sings the song. The other guy plays guitar and has fun running around being wild on stage
It would be cool if they kept Matt if Tom came back, then he could do rhythm guitar and sing the songs he did. They’d sound better live with two guitars anyway.
Nine is my favourite Blink album & Tom’s earlier AVA work was fantastic. We all won from having both. I really hope they keep Matt, I disagree that his voice is too similar to Mark’s & believe he has a lot to contribute yet.
Tom delong changed his Instagram bio to have blink-182 in it again. So. I guess it's official Tom's back in. But in my opinion they shouldn't kick out Matt skiba. Even though there was only three members blink-182 actually composes of about four instruments. That's because Mark hoppus's bass actually doubles for rhythm guitar and ofc bass. It's good for their style of music that being simple but extremely excellent riffs and progressions. However if they keep Matt. They can differentiate the rhythm guitar and bass allowing for more creative music to be made. On a more regular basis.
I’ll be honest. I don’t think it’d hurt for blink to go on hiatus again. Mark and Travis can just finish recovering from their own personal health issues, and then reconvene. Not like they really have to be in a rush.

They have been communicating with Tom. Steve-O just did an interview with Tom and Tom said he talks to Mark daily.

Happy to see Skiba go, I barely stand him in Alkaline Trio to have to see him in Blink.
They should have Tom and Matt in the band! That would sound great!
What they can do is keep Matt in the group as a 2nd guitarist, this will be essential because now as a 4 piece they'll be able to do cover songs of plus 44 and boxcar racer. This is the way.
Put them in the hall of fame and do a performance with Tom and Matt all playing together
They qualify for the Hall of Fame and they didn’t come close to getting in despite being a massively popular band
Whenever they go in the HOF … Skiba and Scott Raynor will likely not be included. Their “HOF” work were the albums done with Tom-Mark-Travis.
Dude, honestly if Tom returned to Blink and they went on tour (with or without Skiba) I’d pay so much money to see them even just for one show. Even if tickets were something stupid like a few hundred bucks for general admission, I’d still pay it. Blink 182’s my favorite band of all time and I never got the chance to see them live with their original lineup. I’d be willing to pay stupid money to be able to see them with Tom

It’s an awesome show my friend. Saw them on their first reunion tour and then when they toured with Fall out boy. Both were amazing shows (blink, not FOB). Money very well spent

OMG! YES! I have seen AVA and 2/3 of BINK in the same week in NYC. It was cool but, Tom has to come back and he said he would in 2021 AVA show at Hammerstein Ballroom. Place went nuts! I will see Blink again in MSG , in 2023! AAAAAAHHHH🤟

Bring Tom back, but still keep Skiba. There's a lot of dubbed vocals, harmonies, and layered guitars on the albums that they'd be able to pull off live if they had 2 guitars and 3 vocalists. Where is it written that Blink HAS to be a power trio?

I honestly love Matt Skiba even though I am a die-hard fan of the original blink 182 line up. Hopefully Matt Skiba would still play with them in tours like Tom, Mark, Travis and Matt would be cool in my opinion

Honestly current blink line up plus Ava could be really interesting. The drums would be amazing. Hoppus could use his bass like Robert smith while Ava’s bassist holds down the bottom end.
Love skiba and he will be missed for sure. I really hope they release the music they recorded before Tom rejoined the band.

keep Matt as an additional guitar player plus backing vocals while still having Tom come back tbh. having that will complete a good live sound
all I will say is that ava sounds more like blink than blink but toms vocals right now are amazing btw for all the people saying 4 piece it would never happen too hectic, too confusing, and not enough time and money. plus their setlist is pre skiba songs anyway

I am a subscriber of the 4 piece idea of having both, but I do wonder if it would take away from their simple but pretty sound.
I would say most people are okay with Matt staying in blink as long as Tom comes back and yes it would bring a better full sound to their live shows .

Na tom needs to come back it was never the same obviously any old blink fan knows, mark and toms different vocal ranges really went well together plus tom wrote all of the riffs hes the better fit still regardless of his change in sound over the years its a no brainer

Matt is unreal. Tom is real real bad live. love the studio tracks. love Dude Ranch. However, the last two records with Matt are the best end to end records.
I would have agreed with you a few years ago, but Tom actually sounds pretty amazing live in a recent show I watched he did with angels and airwaves. Not a big fan of them however, his voice seems to be pretty on point, it would be interesting to see what he would bring to the table with blink

If anything, Blink-182 SHOULD KEEP Matt Skiba & allow for both Matt & Mark to sing backing vocals to Tom’s iconic voice & attitude in that band. PLUS Matt’s guitar will add a beautiful new sound to the classic Blink line-up!
Just go back full time to the trio where you thrive and are respected by the rest of your band and crew Matt. You’re not blink material… and trust me that’s a compliment.
Skiba never got the respect he deserved. Not that thrilled that Tom is back TBH. Matt is better in Alk3 anyway, but still, Blink did him dirty.

Skiba seems like a great guy. He was never needed in blink. The hits left when Tom left. It's science. Matt isn't blink at all. Edging sounds like the blink we miss and love. Get excited!
wouldn't mind Matt staying in blink, but also would love Tom to return. perhaps do what Sum 41 has done and keep Matt while letting Tom return all at once.
The thing is, and Tom has been public about this. Tom still owns Blink 182 (along Mark & Travis). So, really he can comeback at any time he wants.
I want Skiba to bring out some new Alkaline Trio stuff so to have Tom back would be amazing! Win win!

I believe that Matt knew from the start that he was with Blink until Tom finishes his other projects, so the bitter part is this where they don't communicate with each other

Toms vocals now are a lot better than they were in say 2010, when he was singing blink songs with his angels and airwaves style. In comparison having Matt is like having two marks. Plus honestly, the first album without tom sounded so generic, and it felt like everything good was thrown out just to remain popular. You could tell tom was the one who was experimental. He’s progressive. Regardless angel and airwaves recent album hit number 1 if I recall. The bands the biggest is been since their first album, and that was mainly because it was hyped up so much that Tom went solo.
Blink tours make plenty of money. All four should go on tour, and the original lead vocalist for the album version sings the song. The other guy plays guitar and has fun running around being wild on stage
It would be cool if they kept Matt if Tom came back, then he could do rhythm guitar and sing the songs he did. They’d sound better live with two guitars anyway.

Nine is my favourite Blink album & Tom’s earlier AVA work was fantastic. We all won from having both. I really hope they keep Matt, I disagree that his voice is too similar to Mark’s & believe he has a lot to contribute yet.

Tom delong changed his Instagram bio to have blink-182 in it again. So. I guess it's official Tom's back in. But in my opinion they shouldn't kick out Matt skiba. Even though there was only three members blink-182 actually composes of about four instruments. That's because Mark hoppus's bass actually doubles for rhythm guitar and ofc bass. It's good for their style of music that being simple but extremely excellent riffs and progressions. However if they keep Matt. They can differentiate the rhythm guitar and bass allowing for more creative music to be made. On a more regular basis.

I’ll be honest. I don’t think it’d hurt for blink to go on hiatus again. Mark and Travis can just finish recovering from their own personal health issues, and then reconvene. Not like they really have to be in a rush.
