Why not full episodes?
In those days, buying things “on time” meant using credit instead of cash. “On time” referred to regularly timed payments. That was also when a married woman in the US couldn’t get a credit card - called a “charge card” - without her husband’s signature. And charge cards were issued by individual stores, for the most part, not by banks as general purchasing cards. You could write a check if you provided a telephone number, in some places.
Didn't buying things "on time" mean buying it on layaway? At least that's what it meant I was was a kid.
Yep, we females have come a long way...we can get credit cards now. Then again, men control our bodies, & uteruses now, AGAIN, just like the dark ages...so I guess we haven't come so far, after all.
Maybe, now that Dems control the Senate, a womans right to control her own body will be codified....? Maybe.

Gladys was neurotic BEFORE the Stephens' moved in. 🙂 She was watching the house from the beginning. It's only when they moved in that she really got even more "unstable". However, she was right. Strange things did go on at the Stephens'. 🙂

I love that Endora Left her purse and then zapped it back. That sound effect is perfect.
At 0:03-4 , Gladys’ facial expression is a just a little bit of acting magic . The closed eyes and raised eyebrows are perfect ; indignant and entitled .. whilst knowing she’s being a little naughty .
Darrin was much less of a pig in the beginning. Endora was less flashy too. I do prefer Endora with the flashier makeup and kaftans though. LOL

I've often wondered why Darrin took the train when he had a car. But the advantage is avoiding the traffic.
Wow I never once recall him catching the train . Love his car though ! It always puzzled me why mr Brady would often come home after work thru the front door when he always parked deep down in the driveway .. for a rear entrance (Pardon the pun) .
In the NYC-metro area, where they were supposed to have lived, it was common to avoid driving into NYC; even more common now. The hellacious traffic is one reason, but there were others. The parking is - and always was - another big problem. There were some parking garages in the city, but they were (and are) expensive, and often filled up. Commuter trains were designed for “company men” whose wives dropped them at the station and picked them up in the evening. The guys often had regular card games on the trains. Going home, there was a bar car on the commuter trains, too. And only one non-smoking car.
@@Historian212 the Stephens lived in Westport Connecticut, the same community that the Ricardos moved to after leaving their Manhattan apartment. Commuters living in those Connecticut suburbs drive to the station and take the metro-North into Manhattan 😉!

She left that to Elizabeth Montgomery, when Angles, passed away. 8 carrots. 1974. Great show. Miss them all.
the Steven's house was also Dr Bellows home on I Dream of Jeannie.
I dont know how both studios used the same set, they were competing shows on different networks
after a few years the set burned down and had to be rebuilt, ended up slightly different.
The show did several episodes at other locations while the set was rebuilt.
The same company, Screen Gems, was producing both shows.

Sam acts like Darrin is rich the way she goes on about decorating the place, and it's not like Sam will use her witchcraft to get anything. I always liked that house, especially the window seat and built in bookcases. I always wondered what medication Mrs.Kravitz took. LOL.

Back then most middle-class jobs paid enough to support a family on one wage. They could also buy the furniture and pay it off by instalments over several years.

At 0:21 when Mrs Kravitz was looking in the windows, the shot from outside showed the slanted support beams holding up the front of the house set thru the window. Can't believe that wasn't noticed during filming !

Yup. One of THE biggest bloopers. Much worse than a shadow from a mic boom or something.

THE BEVERLY HILLHILLIES was actually filmed in a real mansion. The owner either let them use it rent free or charged a minimal amount.
On BEWITCHED, some of the interroirs were real. The staircase, but it only led to small rooms, maybe used for storage. They had to he strong enough to carry someone's weight. The den also became Tabitha's room hy adding a false wall where needed. Other walls would slid so they could get the camera where they needed it.
The original exteriors of The Beverly Hillbillies were filmed at a real mansion. Not too soon after they started they were filming everything on sets.

How old is Samantha if Endora and Maurice are over a thousand? Did they ever say?
It's implied that she's at least over 300 years old. In the first season episode 'Eye of the Beholder', Darrin finds a 300 year old picture of Samantha in an antique shop. The picture was planted by Endora to mess with Darrin, but Samantha never said that that the picture was a total fake and that she hadn't been born yet.
Later episode Darren finds a painting of her in 17th century clothing. She claims it wasn't her but I am sure it was meant to hint at the truth.
