I had the same question Trackspike so I looked around. The Chopper III is $39.95 from Northwest Shortline directly but I also found that Internet Trains carries it for $33.96 - only problem is that it is back-ordered. There are also doll house vendors who sell it.
I did say in the video that it was rubbing alcohol (any pharmacy) and shoe dye, (any shoe repair store). I use both brown and black. Mix separately so that you can combine to your taste. Start very dilted and slowly add the dye constantly testing on a sample of wood.
What's the substance used in staining and what would be a general place to buy such things outside US? Paint store? Is it just some form of varnish or more of a colouring thing?
Nice set of informative videos. I enjoyed watching them, but if I may make a suggestion. I think you should edit for time a bit more. For example: I don't think viewers need to watch you dry stain off every single piece of wood you cut.
Ah, I seem to have missed that part. Thank you for the tip!
Awesome video

Wear plastic, medical, gloves.
You'll note I did when the strips were wet.
