  • An impressive golf club, but what type of golfer would use the New TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver?
    The answers to that question are all covered in this #tourtrucktuesday upload as I dig deeper into the loft sleeve options, their impact on face angle and ball flight. The split weights and how you can manipulate spin and what you should be looking for out of this golf club when you approach your fitting.
    A bold move to fire the retro TaylorMade Logo on the Twist Face but after hitting the New BRNR Mini Driver I feel it could be justified.

    Taylormade should make a full sized driver version of the BRNR mini. There are players out there who just don't like the carbon face on the Stealth's. Plus, the styling and colors on the BRNR mini looks soooo much better than the Stealth 2. Even the headcover looks amazing.

      agreed. I think after two versions, aside from all the marketing hype, carbon faces is not an advantage, if anything, a disadvantage bc they simply dont last.

    This is most definitely the club for me! I hate hitting driver because it’s so inconsistent, I always revert to hitting three wood off the tee box just for the fact I’m more consistent with it, I just hate that it doesn’t go as far as driver, I think I’ve found the perfect club for me!!!

  • @sirblt4923
    @sirblt4923 Год назад

    I got mine too use as a 2 wood. I can bomb my driver, I'm more working on my iron game. This past Saturday I was driving the ball around 340 carry, up to 380 total with my driver (in Utah at elevation), & I have a tough time slowing my swing, so this is the perfect club for me for that 315 yard carry on those 330-340 yard tight par 4s. My 3 wood is cranked up to 16.5° & goes around the same distance, so the Mini Driver is going to be my 3 wood replacement on windy days. I promise I'm not trying to talk up my driving distance here, as I'm still playing off of around 14 or 15 & need to spend a LOT more time on irons, just pointing out what I'm using my Mini Driver for. My low end gapping now goes 9° driver, 12.5° 2 wood (Mini Driver), 16.5° 3-4 wood, & 19.5° 3 hybrid, right into my 5 iron. A long driving distance can be fun, but it also makes for some random 2nd shot distances on par 5s that give me trouble with my irons lately.

    Finally! Waited for Trottie’s review but then I knew this mini driver’s for me so I got fitted last week and got it. I love hitting my Stealth 2 but the BRNR is an extra confidence and consistency booster on straight off the deck. It’s my par 5 anti-double bogey weapon now 😂 Yet another great review. Thanks Trottie for helping me justify my purchase. 🙏

    I picked up a 300 mini a few weeks ago. Being a longer hitter, I don't carry a 3 wood because I'm never am in a situation where I use it. This has been a perfect 2nd option off the tee on holes with a lot of trouble, where I'm at risk of hitting my driver too far through the fairway, and anywhere I need to hit a draw since the extra loft helps me do that.

I haven't played around with weighting yet, but my next task is to see how I can dial that in to complement the set up. Would recommend.

      You have to be steep & not rotary. As you dive through my vids you'll see the theme about center of gravity of club in relation to center of gravity of ball. An individual who has success with irons and FW wood is generally a little steep into the ball and swinging with their arms (it's a natural move, even I still do it a little). Tee the driver high and hit it high, that's the feeling & the more slice you apply the more you should swing to the right. That's a start point if nothing else 🤣👍

    I wish they would call it a 2 wood instead of a mini driver. In my opinion this club would be best for those that play links golf or in windy conditions a lot. Hitting that low bullet tracer that will stay under the wind and trundle onto the green on a par 5. But then again a stealth plus 3 wood adjusted correctly could do the same thing.

    Mini Drivers are pretty irrelevant these days since 3 woods produce near driver numbers and are better off the turf. I just don't see a place in my bag for one, I'm a 2 iron or 5 wood guy depending on the course and think that if you cannot hit a big headed driver then a smaller mini driver is not going to be any better, especially off the deck. Niche product.

      I'm with you on first instinct as a PLYR you don't think there is a spot but then you see the PGA Tour boys building and testing them for fun and you realize it "could" at the right places add value.
