Driver 3wood an hybrid works for me. An as driver seems to be your club Gaz, see if you or James can get your hands on the new Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Max to review, I think I want one lol.
I definitely need to look at something like this. I recon with my efficiency i could gain 25yards against my driver. But 5 wood will do fir now need new wedges first
Its a MIni driver mad world currently 🤣🤣I just bought a spotless Callaway 12" 1.5 Big Bertha Mini driver for £60! Put a S 60 £20 shaft length 43.5". New oversize grip £5 swing weight D0 went into bag on Saturday evening and went head to head with my SIM2. Dead straight 240-250 yard carry and great rollout. Callaway are asking $449 for the new Mini driver! No chance! It is just a 3 wood ! My £40 Spotless XR Speed 3W 43" had the exact same carry the MIni driver had a slightly larger head. It is no driver replacement for me anyway.
Awesome purchase! And awesome results. You just want to be fairly far down the fairway, somewhere on the fairway in this British weather. You have exactly what I'm looking for in mine. If you hunt around there's bargains to be had - the world has gone mini driver mad but often it seems for good reason. I actually found an SLDR mini 14° for £30 and that mini 1.5 for £40... Sold them for £215 total and got the 300 mini 11.5 with a few pennies to spare. Gonna change my power slice game for good.... I hope!
These are effectively a 2 wood, i used a 2 wood as a junior back in the day, lethal off the deck and could work it both ways. However i wonder why they are needed now, i play a AiSmoke 9 turned down to 8 degree, so straight, great dispersion and easy to hit. As my next clubs are either a 16.5 3 wood or 17 degree hybrid, similar distances but different flight, my course is windy, so that’s useful. Where would a mini driver fit in my bag? Or any bag? If you can’t hit a modern max driver, you need lessons, there is a max for everyone, and they are all longer than the mini driver??
I agree, even if i hit it well, it would replace my driver or 3 wood. I think personally you’ve got to be poor with a driver or 3 wood to be considering one, as there’s no room in the bag otherwise.
@@garymartingolf I play a short and tight course, replaced 3 wood with 13.5° mini driver lofted at 15.5° easier to hit off the tee than 3 wood and not as long as driver so keeps the trouble out of reach
@garymartingolf another ripper review, thank you 🙏 We've been experimenting and viewing as many BRNR vlogs as possible. My guess is crafty Sam didn't let on not only to tee lower but to pull the tee back inside a notch, too ... if not then the extra loft in line with the left heel will (unwantedly) sky it everytime. Go out again, you'll crack it and be chuffed you stuck with it.
Hey gaz could you do a comparison between a mini driver and your gamer with a 3 wood shaft in it. To see if playing a shorter shaft with the 460cc head is better than playing a slightly shorter shaft with a 300cc head. The 460cc head would have to be more forgiving.
Haven’t hit one of those mini drivers, but I do use a Sim Rocket 14 degrease, it goes a mile off tee low flight cuts through wind easy and workable both ways, Surely it’s a cheaper option for people as second hand they are very cheap
Honest opinion. No. Only reason to change would be purely for pleasure. I can’t say I noticed anything in the numbers or performance. Maybe the new technology in the face felt a bit nicer, but I’m clutching at straws to be honest
Had the burner and couldn’t get on with it so sold it on eBay and got £440 for it!! That was about 2 months ago. To be fair the sweet spot had never been hit🤦♂️
Callaway mini driver is available at all the online retailers at £449, obviously getting fitted or testing with your local fitter is best. I’ve spoken with my fitter he has one, so I’ll give it a go for fun, but wont be buying one. My16.5 degree AiSmoke 3 wood is a beast, only 30 yards behind my driver and great off the deck.
Glad you’re enjoying it. Sam uses his 90% of the time now, he only uses his driver on the rare occasion, when there’s a long and wide fairway par 5. Cheating stick!
Just so you know there is no difference in the clubs so the reason for the difference in the last two models. Did you have the weights reversed? It’s the same club it can’t be 18 yards. Test anomaly?
Please I have absolutely no problem with your review but I have a major problem with Callaway and TaylorMade. Either of their mini driver products are virtually impossible to get hold of and when you can they are excessively overpriced, and if you are a senior/lady/slow swing speed golfer it is absolutely impossible to get one specced with a light, A or L flex shaft. A rep for one of those two companies who was at my local golf club rather bluntly informed me that this club wasn’t designed for players like me. Shameful.
Gary what mics do you use with your iPhone? I bought some but they cancel out all background noise and basically only pickup the talking so make shite 💩 videos.
Great to see the two of you on the course again Gaz, I’ve never tried a mini driver but two guy’s at our club have them and use them to good effect
Really good to see all three models in a comparison. Thank you!
Thanks Austin 🔥
Ive got the 300 mini and love it. Sounds great and ive never hit driver straighter
I also have the 300 mini, I love it but feel like off center hits are really punishing. How about you?

Gaz, Sam has been a great addition to your channel!
100%! I mean, I truly believe he’s the best in his field, and he’s a great guy 👌🏼
Have a fitting booked next week
Mini 300 series in my bag!

I can’t wait to see Sam on Wednesday 31st👍🏻
Make sure you reserve 2 hours more than scheduled 😄

Thanks for the tips. I’ll try that 👌🏼
Love my new BRNR Mini incredible club
If I could hit it like sam, I’d have one. Great club though 👌🏼
I've got the 300 series which I like....but also have a SLDR mini driver which I prefer...
Really! Why’s it better?
@@garymartingolf I get more distance from it and gives me more confidence ...If I'd been able to test 300 before buying I wouldn't have bought it....
@@garymartingolfit’s not brown… that’s why 😂
i have the new one Copper BRNR 13.5 degree and LOVE it off the tee and off the deck fits great in my top end cheers from Canada
Callaway have just announced their new mini driver to be launched end of June (I think!)!
I felt Dan's pain on that tee shot😂
He wasn’t happy 😃

How high were you teeing them up in terms of a castle tee. White? Yellow?
Gary, have you tested the Lab DF3 putter yet? If not, do you plan on checking it out? Would love to hear your thoughts. ⛳️
You're welcome Sam!! 😂😂
Ive got the 300 and debating upgrading to the brnr, not sure if it's worth it 🤔

@@garymartingolf Thanks for saving me some $$
Hope they release more.
PXG one looks the best, they just kill everyone else with the weight ports in my opinion!
I’ve not seen it yet. They’re the most customisable clubs, I must admit.
I heard it's for the Tour team only
Wish I had a goofy swing that worked as well as Sam’s well done 👍
You didn’t do the head cover trick. 😜
How many roof marks are on that mini?
From me 😂

Well done gaz 😊

Wee taylormade video after yesterday mate.
Hahah 🤣 It was already planned 😃😅

Does Sam’s putter double up as a carpet beater? It’s a beast.
Ahaha 🤣 it always make me laugh that thing 😀
See you at...Hesketh? Are you on the bag, Gaz?
Dans on the bag. I don’t think he’s picked hesketh. I’m not sure which venue he’s at actually. I will pick up a bag when I go into RUclips full time.
It’s funny they call them mini when they are bigger than my original burner. I’m sure they’re much more forgiving.
Sam: “I’m not just a fitter”…
“Can’t you see my Freddie Couple’s swing” 😂
Great content Gaz… 😎
Man do I hate you . I tried the mini driver and bought and it’s one of me best clubs in my bag 😂

Three hole blog Gary 💚 again
I will stick to my original one mini driver it is easier to hit off the ground. At 275 cc thise are all 304 or bigger.
What’s the original called?

Where’s Sam qualifying.
Are you going to reshaft those fake Taylormade irons and do a video?
Yes. I’ve left the irons with him 👌🏼
@@garymartingolf can’t wait to see the results!
I'm not sure perhaps just put a shorter shaft in your driver, or go with a 3 wood.
It messes with the weighting
They’re all jumping on the bandwagon! I’ll keep a 3 wood.
I’m doing so too.
Fat 3 wood innit 🤔
