As someone who grew up on these toys in the 90s and never had primal till the reissue I can say primal is miles better then Megatron but weirdly enough primal was the shelf warmer and not Megatron of the reissued leaders
I like Primal better but the arm gimmick on mine never worker right so it ended up just hindering the figure and also mine has this weird thing at the neck where is always wants to tilt down at a diagonal and idk why. But I still love how the figure looks and works other than the flaws I mentioned.
The 10th anniversary reissue is a much better re-release of the old figure as it takes the OG and makes it toon accurate, it also feels much more solid (That’s 2006 for ya!)
@@sophieprime4669 The 10th Anniversary Ultra Class Optimus Primal and Megatron were actually available in the West. The two-pack was a Toys "R" Us exclusive release back in 2006. I should know. I have it still complete minus the DVD.
Just picked up this figure and Optimus Prime at Ollie's for $15 each. I bought one for $50 when it came out but returned it pretty quickly. I feel better about it now having only spent $30 for both. Great review!
I own both the O.G figures from the 90's, Primal was the much better of the two lol. If I ever decide to pick up the re-issue, I think I'll cannibalize it to restore my O.G Megatron who's missing a few parts which have been lost over the years from rough play lol. I recommend watching Beast Wars if you've seriously never seen it, the writing & voice acting is amazing. Great review good sir~!
You push the black pin into the arm but you shouldn't pull the claw out. It will stress the gears and ruin the gimmick, watch other reviews. Otherwise great video!
I wish the mutant head could fold all the way back to hide it when it's not on. That, and I wish they had them in the show. Like Bumblebee's battle mask.
I have both the original primal and T.Rex megatron and primal definitely stands up to today’s standards. Megatron on the other hand is definitely a product of it’s time but then again it wasn’t made in 2024
Got both the reissues of Optimus primal and the T-Rex Megatron as well bought them at The bargain outlet store Ollie's for about 14.99 apiece with 25% off which I now proudly own as well as the Transformers legacy laser Optimus Prime and Transformers legacy evolution Armada Megatron in my collection
I bought Megatron because I wanted a beast wars Megatron to go along side my Optimus primal figure. I have the original release Optimus primal, not the rerelease.
Hey bro just checking you on this, you need to realize that the dinosaur head does have articulation it swivels at the neck. Please stop reviewing figures that you don't take the time to actually look at. You miss this key detail and it was pretty big of a detail for back in the day. Also this figure in the original Optimus Prime will have a way swivel which is nearly unheard of for the time and if you don't like the mutant mask you can just detach it
If you don't mind me saying, I would suggest you stay away from Beast Wars Retrax. I'm talking about the reissue of the figure. It's not even worth it especially when I purchased it.
