For 3$ a month, you get an extra weekly "What's UP" update video. Just for my Patrons. The Support I resave on patreon is all used on stuff to make interesting videos on RUclips.
My PlayHouse is a channel where i will show, what i am working on. I have this house, it is 168 Square Meters / 1808.3ft² and it is full, of half-finished projects.
I love working with heating, insulation, Servers, computers, Datacenter, green power, alternative energy, solar, wind and more. It all costs, but I'm trying to get the most out of my money, and my time.

The relationship between the distance from the screen and the projected image size is called "throw ratio". A projector's lens has a certain throw ratio that can either be fixed or variable. A throw ratio is represented as distance/width. That means, a throw ratio of 2:1 means that the projector has to be 2 meters away from the projection surface to create a 1-meter wide image.

      @@MyPlayHouse It'll stick in there if you're a projector person ;)
Also, I clicked on this video in less than a second because we have a similar situation to yours. We got two old large-venue projectors for free. They're both made by Sanyo, one PLC XF-42 (9,000 lumens, 2006) and one PLC-XF-71 (10,000 lumens, 2009). Too bad they're both not working properly though. The XF-42 actually surprised us because it had *four* lamps instead of just one.
We're looking to get them working if possible before they go to the e-graveyard.

As for the Optoma, add some in-pool adjustable lights, mount a white sheet at the end of the yard and you can watch movies at night from the pool.

So use it as a color projector,, humm.

I was thinking they would be good for a "DIY Drive In", find a big white wall somewhere. Portable powerstation would power the projector and there you go Pop up Drive In.

We are still using projektors in most classrooms at my school at work. And some smaller classrooms has lcd tv:s. But the bigger ones for 25-35 persons are still using projectors beacuse they are cheaper then 108” tv’s. And i’m in the middle of upgrading all projectors to laser ones wich have better pictures in daylight and in a dark room 😀

    • @MyPlayHouse

I am sure they are still being used,, and if you want more than 80" they are still cheaper...

you need one in the bunker - poster board screen and a small foam couchdesk also (a tv would probably be better and use less elec) - you could expand the bunker pretty easily - how much could a 8x12x 8 box cost? a couple days of welding

The idea is fun,, but in reality the resolution is too low,,, 1024*768 is just not what it use to be.

What to use old projectors for - DIY halloween projects.
Since they are redundant you dont feel bad if they dont survive the seasonal halloween frontlawn showpiece period.

now you can sit in your pool, drinking some frozen cocktails and watching a good movie with this projector. a real projector-screen or at least a white bed-sheet is much better than this rough wallpaper.
I have a panasonic pt-ae700 (720p 3LCD) and a cinescreen v3 (2,30m wide) and watching movies is fun. And much more fun with a powerful surround-system with a mighty subwoofer. The pt-ae700 can do 7,62m diagonal. Was a very expensive one at it's time.
By the way: DVDs have just 720p resolution, so the optima can do this.

21:57 Hmm, why would you go back from Windows XP (released in 2001) back to Windows Me (released in 2000)? Me was the last version of Windows 98 and was horrible and buggy. XP was the first consumer Windows based on NT, and was solid, in it's time
