750W Power Supply Died in my Lenovo X3650 M5 - 1400

- I was planning a totally different video, but that all stopped when my lovely x3650 M5 stopped working and took the rest of my system with it down.
Turned out that the PSU in the Lenovo x3650 M5 was dead,, we have a good look at that.

Always remember that the 220v is dangerous, never try to explode a psu at home

Hab no luck with 3650s lately either. 4 M5s died last month due to power failures. one PSU similar to your fault (yepp, shorted mains), two others with a DC regulator failure similar to the infamous M4 design error. I really hope the 650s hold up better.
I replaced the Power supply yesterday,, works again.
Having the Allpowers in line with the ups can cause horrendous harmonics on the mains that could cause damage. It's a big no no! Have a chat with the power guys in work to confirm.
How to get around that ?
@@MyPlayHouse the only way is to have the UPS and Allpowers feeding separate PSU's on the server, or via an ATS If single PSU. You should achieve the same autonomy as they'll be sharing the load, till one runs flat.

I do not think I want to go there,,, I think it blow a fuse,, and probably for a good reason,, something else is fried...

I think that would be a short tour.
It seems like the faulty PSU took the internal DC-DC converter with it... I think that is the black cube you pulled out behind the power supply caddy.
New PSU is through customs,,, Hope it was in the PSU..
Yap... The contact blades of 750w and 1100w even 550w older one ( that is underpowered by the way!) seems identical ( maybe different gold fingers allocation to 12v, 5v etc but I doubt it) so it sound to me DC-DC converter faulty too... Or worse faulty MB on power side 🤔💭😱😱😱😱😱😇.
Is there not a DC out fuse inside the power supply ?
The fuse,, and propoly the AC side one,, did probably not blow just for fun,, if it blow.. :-/
I know the feeling when buying from BH, shipping, import tax, VAT on everything, and of course PortNord takes a fee for processing the customs crap ;)
