  • I have two bathrooms in my house in Portugal,, the smallest one has two exhaust fans, and the larger bathroom has non.. I do not follow the logic of that,, so I am in this video installing a smart-ish exhaust fan in the larger bathroom. It is smart in the way that it comes on when you turn on the lights,, and stays on for an amount of time, after you have turned off the lights again. And it has a humidity sensor, and if the humidity in the bathroom comes over the set level, it comes on and it stays on until the humidity goes under again.

AFAIK. Using individual wires for installation is only legal in Denmark if they are routed in for example, pipes. Otherwise, installation cable (double insulated) must be used, similar to the cables that are already used in the ceiling. 🙂

      That's same in UK.
Other countries are even more stringent but Portugal is maybe less stringent?
We'd also need a three pole isolator on the fan here to allow for servicing.

Running sockets and lights on different circuits is normal (good) practice.

@@MyPlayHouse It's about the load. Lighting doesn't need much so can use thinner cable and lower rated fuses etc. Sockets take more, so have heavier cable and higher rated fuses.

the computer cable you tried to salvage might not have been a good idea. although i'm not sure, those cables were stranded; and might not be recommended for electrical work
