- I am just fixing a bit of decorate fences, I have no idea why I thought this would be interesting for anyone else than me. But here you go,, anyway,, a whole video on replacing a piece of wood.

To get the petrol/oil to burn longer, you would have been better to have put sand in the block holes before adding the petrol. It soaks it up and burns properly.
But properly should have used creosote or real wood preservative. Would last longer for only a few Euros.
Yes,,, I often has to work with what I got,, if I go shopping that is 2 hours gone for even the simplest DIY stuff :-)

If the fence post has to go into the ground, it should at least be 'tanalised'- pressure treated with preservative. Otherwise you can insert a steel post holder into the ground and then just insert the post into that.
or a concrete pool :-) they are also widely used there...
I have had pretty good luck with using pea gravel instead of concrete or dirt. It drains better, and does not come loose.

@@MyPlayHouse You are quite welcome, Sir. I have been watching for several years now, as we share some interests in electric battery back up, so;ar power and IT/server maintenance.
Just leant that slightly charred wood does the opposite of biochar(biochar give pest and water an home, slightly charred repels both).
Is pressure treated wood or the roll-on stain treatment not available?

I did think of that, until I found the concret down there. I would have screwed in a couple of the long screws.
Yacht Varnish would be better.

It seems like you overtighten the screws a lot, it will split the wood in two halves over time.
