And the beauty is if you are handy with basic mechanical skills, you can do this all at home and no issues impacting warranty. Not for everyone of course.
Hi Ryan. With my M3 LR I had a service check and tyre rotate at 20,000km and now at 56,000 without further service appointments. I have no out standing issues and the car remains faultless, I love it. Cheers Henny
My first 'service' today. 20K. EZPZ. Roof racks installed. Tyres rotated. $120! That's it. no nothing else. That's it. Smooth as silk App run process. These cars are just amazing.
I have done 78,000 miles (125,529 Km) in just over 2 years and have spent nothing on servicing other than new wiper blades that I fitted myself. You can check the condition of the cabin filters in the service menu, I did this and they were fine so I haven't changed them, I live in rural Scotland so they don't have to filter out lots of air pollution compared to some places. It is a great car and extremely cheap to run. 🙂
I've been told that you only really need to change the cabin filters if you notice a bad or "damp" smell inside the car. But of course it's all dependant on the environment the car is in, how much it's driven, etc.
That’s a big part of the common complaint of premature tire ware…the rear camber arms for M Y are not adjustable, so the slight negative camber wears out the inner portion of the tires much more quickly as compared to the rest of the tire. That can add up to big tire expenses over time, so I went and bought a $420 (no kidding, four twenty, USD) set of adjustable rear camber arms. Going to have them installed and the camber set to neutral. I am not driving it like a race car, and would rather get the rated life out of tires.
Nice video again thanks mate. I've had two services so far, and each time they came out to my place to do it, which was super convenient. $90 if I recall.
The other great part about tesla service is that they also do the same at your home/work with their field service for much the same price. That is as long as you are in their field service area.
I've had a '21 Model 3 LR (lowered with Uberturbines and 255/35 tyres) for just under a year, and I have rotated the tyres front to rear myself twice in the last 25k. I found the inner edge of the tyres also wore down much quicker than the rest of the tread, so I got a suspension alignment ($149) after a new set of tyres were fitted - they found the toe-in was out - might be the same for you. As I do approx 30k per year, I will get the suspension aligned again after 6 months and then annually if the alignment holds and the wear on the tyres stays even. Given the cost of a new set of tyres, the alignment is well worth it, especially if you save money by rotating the tyres yourself.
ROFL!!! Ryannnnnnn!! @1:17 "...of which I politely declined..." It's a TRAP~!!!! We need to just be happy with what we've got! Collectively, we must...be...strong!! Fight the urge. Ooh it looks soo nice doesn't it. Sleeker, 13% greater efficiency, ventilated seats... NOT again! Be happy...must be happy. 😳 Seriously though, thanks for the update Ryan! Congratulations to yourself Paige and cuuuute baby on the new soon-to-be home! You guys have come a long way for sure! Please keep making these awesome videos!! We love you guys!
Great video and very timely for me. Just ticked over 1 year ownership with M3 and 40,000kms. Will book in for tires and a general check up. I do have a couple of annoying vibration/noises happening, so I will have them check that out.
I change filters by myself. Nothing special, 20 mins max and I'm sure that nothing is broken or dirty 😊 Also, original Tesla filters and wipers are extremely expensive. Like 2x to Bosch wipers and Mann filters, which are the same in wipers's case, and even better in filter's
@Twoideas915 Bosch 3 397 014 116 are exactly the same wipers as original Model3 ones. The only difference is Bosch logo on them :) And if I'm not mistaking Bosch 3 397 014 621 is for ModelY
Hi Ryan, great channel and very useful as I'm slowly convincing myself to get a MY. Question: do you find the glass roof an inconvenience on hot days in Melbourne? Thank you
Hmm, a bit disappointed they didn’t advise a brake fluid change, this should be done every 2 years. The strange tire wear is common because of the non-adjustable camber arms, not a big deal but you will have to replace tires sooner than expected. Funny to know that you don’t need to leave your keycard, didn’t know that.
Hi Ryan, You drove the Tesla Model 3. How does it compare to your Model Y, especially in terms of cabin noise (most important) and comfort(seats, ride)? Is the Model Y as quiet as the Highland 3 or not? I’m deciding between the Highland 3 and the Model Y. I like how quiet the new Model 3 is, but I think it might be too small for me, as I currently drive a Touareg. The Touareg is similar in size to the Model Y. The seating position feels similar, just a bit more spacious and slightly higher, though not as low as in the Model 3. I’d really appreciate your response or feedback from anyone else who has compared the two.
Hi Ryan , very useful video. I will have to make special trip to Melbourne as we have no Tesla service centre in country Victoria. But that is Ok. I just wanted to ask you if you have noticed Curvature Assist Active message on screen, I noticed this message popped up while I was approaching a round about. I tried to look for any info but I have not seen anyone explaining about it so far.Thanks. Mo
Hey , I assume that's the lane correcting feature where 'assists' by pulling steering back into lane for you? Tesla service can come to your house as well, worth asking.
Have you changed those tyres yet or are they still the original set? I am coming up on 40,000kms as well and have read varying reports on how frequently the tyres need to be changed!
As someone that bought new - if I had my time again I'd test drive it at a Tesla outlet and then snap up a bargain by getting second hand. The buying experience is very boring by design. Batteries are amazing so don't stress there. Do a bit of research on the right type of car for you though!
@@LindsayLWildes @Shen2355 if you buy used Tesla / bEV make sure to get a local mobile mech who is well experienced in bEV to do a full pre-purchase inspection before you buy and get them to check battery health and if any structural / water damage etc, it could save you a lot of money incase previous owner is trying to sell you a car that is not in full working order
Hardly any EV’s in country Australia like Berry or Renmark today… Just reporting on the real world situation :) When its 38 degrees like today is, you need reliable petrol or diesel car 💪

Always a pleasure to watch your content, Ryno. Our Tesla service experiences have been identical- near effortless.
Thanks mate !!

Pretty cool! I really love my Highland. I'm interested to see the new Model Y, though. You might like that better than your current Y.

Fabulously simple. Having just paid $1200 for our Landcruiser service, I look forward to the day our Tessie needs a service and it will be so cheap.

Thanks Ryan great job.
I have the Tiger Jenko panels 13kw system awesome. Ha I did shake your hands at the Energy show.😊😊 cheers Tony
haha thanks for saying hi ! Good to know you've got the same panels.

I wish Tesla would open some new service centres.
My nearest one is 1.5 hrs and $21 in tolls away
Will they do a mobile service to you? Worth asking?
@raymonddsouza8948 fair point. Worst they can say is no

When you use the pressure washer and foam, do you also need wash it with a sponge, or just rinse off?
Depends how dirty the car is, but because we're washing the car more now, we find we just rinse it every couple of days and keep on top of it.
@ Yeah, thought as much. Having the washer there ready to go would make it much more convenient than dragging everything out.
great video!
Thank you!
How much were the solar panels and Powerwall all up, installed, if you don't mind me asking?
Do you know what Tesla checked as part of the service? That would be useful to understand.
I was told this was a general check over the car. Wasn't provided much more detail.
is there a package you bought for the tesla service? and i can't wait to see your new home! exciting!
Thanks ! And no, just booked a standard service.
That’s awesome!👏 but $50! To replace cabin air filter?! You should’ve spent 5mins to do it yourself
haha yes ... but I had Tesla credits !
Have you changed those tyres yet or are they still the original set?

So happy fr you
Just research how much battery replacement cost.)
Tesla's have an 8 year warranty on the battery but otherwise would be around $14k AUD, and prices continue to come down every year.
Hi Ryan
my tesla y is around 18k, you reckon I need a wheel rotation? Or wait longer.
RWD? Totally up to you
how often do you have to get the air conditioner re-gas’ed in a Tesla? is it every 18 / 24 / 30 months like with an ice car?
Seriously re-gasing ac on a regular - you have a leak that needs fixing- I have not the need to regas my ICE car for the last 270,000km
480,000 in a BMW and never a regas.
Yes I think you have a leak
Do you prefer Y or the new M3?
New M3 .. but need the Y for the space
You mean you can't change out your own cabin filters?
You totally can, but this service was free for me by using credits !
Did you end up finding out why you didn’t qualify for a mobile service appt?
Nope haha 😂
1:07 i dont like that ngl
what about byd sealion 6. Bro check this car, it is way more innovative and interesting. Tesla looks old.
It's a PHEV isn't it !?
Grandfalls Pressure Washers are garbage for their price, watch Obsessed Garage

Dude what is a kilometer? 🇺🇸
You don’t know how to change air filter my baby knows how to do it 😁😁
Please post a video of your baby changing the cabin filter.
Or maybe like your baby, Ryan knows how to, but just didn’t want to do it.
